1Review on long-period stacking-ordered structures in Mg-Zn-RE alloys显示文摘The recent development of high-strength magnesium alloys is focused on the role of the strengthening phases with a novel long-period stacking-ordered (LPSO) structure. This review detailed the main factors influencing the formation of LPSO phases, including alloying ele-ments, preparation methods, and heat treatments. Furthermore, process control in structure types, formation and transformation behavior, strengthening and toughening mechanisms of the LPSO phase were discussed. 2Pinpointing Source of Mekong and Measuring Its Length Through Analysis of Satellite Imagery and Field Investigations显示文摘For centuries, explorers and scientists from different countries had made their own conclusions on the source of the Mekong. However, the geographic source of the Mekong is still arguable because of the complexity of the Mekong source water system, inaccessible environment and the varied technologies used by those explorers and scientists. The satellite remote sensing technology has been used to pinpoint the source of the Mekong, associated with the on-the-spot investigations made by the authors in June 1999 and September 2002. 3Field experiment on biological contact oxidation process to treat polluted river water in the Dianchi Lake watershed显示文摘In this study two types of biological contact oxidation processes(BCOP),a step-feed(SBCOP)unit and an inter-recycle(IBCOP)unit,were designed to investigate the treatment of heavily polluted river water.The Daqing River,which is the largest pollutant contributor to the Dianchi Lake,one of the most eutrophic freshwater lakes in China,was taken for the case study.It was found that the SBCOP had higher adaptability and better performance in the reduction of COD,TN,and TP,which made it applicable for the treatment of polluted river water entering the Dianchi Lake.Nitrification rate was observed to be greatly affected by the influent temperature.During each season,the nitrification in the SBCOP was higher than that in the IBCOP.TN removal efficiency in the SBCOP was higher than that in the IBCOP during the winter and spring but poorer during the summer,possibly due to the inhibition of denitrification by higher dissolved oxygen level in the summer.Moreover,symbiotic algaebacteria growth may be conducive to the removal of pollutants.Lu LI Shuguang XIE Hui ZHANG Donghui WEN 2009Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2009,3,1:6

5GLUT1-mediated effective anti-miRNA21 pompon for cancer therapy显示文摘Oncogenic microRNAs are essential components in regulating the gene expression of cancer cells. Especially miR21, which is a major player involved of tumor initiation, progression, invasion and metastasis in several cancers. The delivery of anti-miR21 sequences has significant potential for cancer treatment. Nevertheless, since anti-miR21 sequences are extremely unstable and they need to obtain certain concentration to function, it is intensely difficult to build an effective delivery system for them.The purpose of this work is to construct a self-assembled glutathione(GSH)-responsive system with tumor accumulation capacity for effective anti-miR21 delivery and cancer therapy. A novel drug delivery nanosphere carrying millions of anti-miR21 sequences was developed through the rolling circle transcription(RCT) method. GSH-responsive cationic polymer polyethyleneimine(pOEI) was synthesized to protect the nanosphere from degradation by Dicer or other RNase in normal cells and optimize the pompon-like nanoparticle to suitable size. Dehydroascorbic acid(DHA), a targeting molecule, which is a substrate of glucose transporter 1(GLUT 1) and highly expressed on malignant tumor cells, was connected to pOEI through PEG, and then the polymer was used for contracting a RNA nanospheres into nanopompons. 8Vacuum pressure swing adsorption process for coalbed methane enrichment显示文摘The enrichment of low concentration coalbed methane using adsorption process with activated carbon adsorbent was studied in this work.Adsorption isotherms of methane,nitrogen and carbon dioxide on activated carbon were measured by volumetric method,meanwhile a series of breakthrough tests with single component,binary components and three components feed mixture has been performed for exploring dynamic adsorption behaviors.Moreover,a rigorous mathematical model of adsorption bed containing mass,energy,and momentum conservation equation as well as dualsite Langmuir model with the Linear driving force model for gassolid phase mass transfer has been proposed for numerical modeling and simulation of fixed bed breakthrough process and vacuum pressure swing adsorption process.Furthermore,the lumped mass transfer coefficient of methane,nitrogen and carbon dioxide on activated carbon adsorbent has been determined to be 0.3 s^(-1),1.0 s^(-1) and 0.06 s^(-1) by fitting the breakthrough curves using numerical calculation.Additionally,a six bed VPSA process with twelve step cycle sequence has been proposed and investigated for low concentration coalbed methane enrichment.Results demonstrated that the methane molar fraction in feed mixture ranged from 10%to 50%could be enriched to 32.15%to 88.75%methane in heavy product gas with a methane recovery higher than 83%under the adsorption pressure of 3 bar(1 bar=105 Pa)and desorption pressure of 0.1 bar.Energy consumption of this VPSA process was varied from 0.165 k·W·h·m^(-3) CH_(4)to 0.649 k·W·h·m^(-3) CH_(4).Finally,a dualstage VPSA process has been successfully developed to upgrade a low concentration coalbed methane containing 20%methane to a target product gas with methane purity higher than 90%,meanwhile the total methane recovery was up to 98.71%with a total energy consumption of 0.504 k·W·h·m^(-3)CH_(4).Bo Lu Yuanhui Shen Zhongli Tang Donghui Zhang Gaofei Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,4:4
9Optimization of binder addition and compression load for pelletization of wheat straw using response surface methodology显示文摘Densification is required for efficiently handling and transporting biomass as feedstock for biofuel production.Binders can enhance straw pellet strength and improve the pellet performance.The present investigation aimed to optimize binders and compression load for wheat straw pelletization using a single pelleting unit.Response surface methodology was employed by using a four-factor,five-level central composite design with wood residue(%,w/w),bentonite(%,w/w),crude glycerol(%,w/w),and compression load(N)as process parameters.The pellet tensile strength,specific energy consumption of pelleting,and pellet density were the response variables.The higher heating value,ash content of the pellet product and the cost of the feedstock were also considered in optimizing binder addition.The developed model fitted the data and was adequate for binder analysis and optimization.Wheat straw pellet,with the addition of 30% wood residue,0.80% bentonite,and 3.42% crude glycerol,in addition to 4000 N of compressive load,was identified as optimal with good performance of pellet tensile strength(1.14 MPa),specific energy consumption(32.6 kJ/kg),and pellet density(1094 kg/m^(3))as well as low ash content(6.13%)and high heating value(18.64 MJ/kg).Confirmation tests indicated high accuracy of the model.Lu Donghui Lope G.Tabil Wang Decheng Wang Guanghui Wang Zhiqin 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,6:4

12Advances in Researches on Chemical Composition and Functions of Hemerocallis Plants显示文摘The genus Hemerocallis is a kind of perennial herbaceous plants of Liliaceae and consists of about 15 species in the world,11 of which can be found in China. Some species of Hemerocallis are widely cultivated for medicinal,edible and ornamental application. Considerable progress had been made in researches on chemical composition and functions of Hemerocallis plants. Previous phytochemical studies on Hemerocallis plants have demonstrated the presence of flavonoids,anthraquinones,alkaloids,terpenoids,triterpenes and triterpenoid saponins,caffeoylquinic acid derivatives,naphthalene glycosides,steroid and steroidal saponins,phenylethanoid glycosides,and lignans. Functional activities of Hemerocallis plants are mainly manifested in sedative hypnotic,antidepressant,antioxidant,anti-tumor,hepatoprotective,antibacterial and insecticidal activities. 13Effect of pore size on CH4/N2 separation using activated carbon显示文摘In this paper,a model of activated carbon was established by molecular simulation and the separation performance of N2 and CH4 on activated carbon was studied.In order to evaluate the adsorption selectivity and diffusion selectivity of N2 and CH4,Grand Canonical Monte Carlo and molecular dynamic methods were used to obtain equilibrium adsorption isotherms and mean square displacements of N2 and CH4 on activated carbon with different pore sizes.Research results showed that the difference in adsorption isosteric heat of N2 and CH4 at the pore size of 0.46 nm is the largest,which is 5.759 and 7.03 kcal·mol^-1(1 cal=4.184 J),respectively.Activated carbon with pore size of 0.46 nm has the best N2 and CH4 adsorption selectivity,while its diffusion selectivity is not obvious.Gaofei Chen Yaxiong An Yuanhui Shen Yayan Wang Zhongli Tang Bo Lu Donghui Zhang 2020Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2020,28,4:2

15A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. 16Contrasting beta diversity of spiders,carabids,and ants at local and regional scales in a black soil region,northeast China显示文摘Understanding the factors determining the formation of each community and metacommunity across a landscape is one of the most important ideas in soil animal ecology.However,the variables and parameters that shape soil arthropod communities in agroecosystems have not been resolved.These arthropods can serve as important bioindicators of field management and its sustainability.We sampled five com plantations in each of three locations across a region spanning 600 km to come up with these determinants of the community structure of ground-dwelling spiders(Erigoninae:Araneae),carabids(Coleoptara:Carabidae),and ants(Hymenoptera:Formicidae).The analysis of the five fields within each of the three locations represent our local-scale samples,while the comparisons of the 15 sites across all three locations represent the regional scale samples.We tested the hypothesis that in the models we sampled,environmental/soil variables would drivecommunity assembly locally(within location comparisons),but at the regional scale(between location comparisons),climatic and spatial variables would drive metacommunity assembly.The outcomes of our study showed distinct communities at each of the three locations when compared across regions but locally,fields were similar in species composition,as expected.Locally,spatial variables were important but not soil variables,regulated species richness and abundance.Turnover contributed more than nestedness to explain the biodiversity of spiders,carabids,and ants at both the local and regional scales.Neither purely climate variables,nor purely soil or spatial variables were significant enough explanations for the regional scale arthropod community composition.However,spatially structured environmental factors contributed most to explain the patterns supporting our hypothesis.We conclude that biodiversity in this agroecosystem area can be promoted by a mosaic of land uses being encouraged to increase landscape complexity at the regional scale.MEIXIANG GAO YUXI GUO JIE LIU Jinwen Liu Sina Adi Donghui Wu Tingyu Lu 2021Soil Ecology Letters2021,3,2:1
17High temperature ceramic thermal insulation material显示文摘Flexible and lightweight thermal insulation materials with hierarchical microstructures are ubiquitous in thermal management and protection systems.Ceramic aerogels promise high-temperature thermal insulation but lack mechanical robustness,while the fibrous materials with excellent mechanical elasticity display modest thermal insulation.Here we describe flexible hierarchical superhydrophobic ceramic insulation nanocomposites through the densified architectured hierarchical nanostructures,radiative insulation coating,and interfacial cross-linking among composites.The lightweight flexible ceramic nanocomposites exhibit a density of 0.13 g/cm^(3),high-temperature fire resistance with thermal conductivity of 0.024 W/(m·K),and super-hydrophobicity with the water contact angle of 152°.The mechanical robustness and high-temperature thermal insulation of ceramic nanocomposites,together with its soundproof performance,shed light on the low-cost flexible insulation materials manufacturing with scalability for high-temperature thermal insulation applications under high mechanical loading conditions.Lu An Jason N.Armstrong Yong Hu Yulong Huang Zheng Li Donghui Zhao Jesse Sokolow Zipeng Guo Chi Zhou Shenqiang Ren 2022Nano Research2022,15,7:1
