1Climate and litter C/N ratio constrain soil organic carbon accumulation显示文摘Soil organic carbon(SOC) plays critical roles in stabilizing atmospheric CO2 concentration, but the mechanistic controls on the amount and distribution of SOC on global scales are not well understood. In turn, this has hampered the ability to model global C budgets and to find measures to mitigate climate change. Here, based on the data from a large field survey campaign with 2600 plots across China’s forest ecosystems and a global collection of published data from forested land, we find that a low litter carbon-to-nitrogen ratio(C/N) and high wetness index(P/PET, precipitation-to-potentialevapotranspiration ratio) are the two factors that promote SOC accumulation, with only minor contributions of litter quantity and soil texture. The field survey data demonstrated that high plant diversity decreased litter C/N and thus indirectly promoted SOC accumulation by increasing the litter quality. We conclude that any changes in plant-community composition, plant-species richness and environmental factors that can reduce the litter C/N ratio, or climatic changes that increase wetness index, may promote SOC accumulation. 3Multidimensional stability of V-shaped traveling fronts in the Allen-Cahn equation显示文摘This paper is concerned with the multidimensional asymptotic stability of V-shaped traveling fronts in the Allen-Cahn equation under spatial decaying initial values.We frst show that V-shaped traveling fronts are asymptotically stable under the perturbations that decay at infnity.Then we further show that there exists a solution that oscillates permanently between two V-shaped traveling fronts,which indicates that V-shaped traveling fronts are not always asymptotically stable under general bounded perturbations.Our main technique is the supersolutions and subsolutions method coupled with the comparison principle.SHENG WeiJie LI WanTong WANG ZhiCheng 2013Science China Mathematics2013,56,10:5
4Existence, uniqueness and stability of pyramidal traveling fronts in reaction-diffusion systems显示文摘In the one-dimensional space, traveling wave solutions of parabolic differential equations have been widely studied and well characterized. Recently, the mathematical study on higher-dimensional traveling fronts has attracted a lot of attention and many new types of nonplanar traveling waves have been observed for scalar reaction-diffusion equations with various nonlinearities. In this paper, by using the comparison argument and constructing appropriate super- and subsolutions, we study the existence, uniqueness and stability of threedimensional traveling fronts of pyramidal shape for monotone bistable systems of reaction-diffusion equations in R^3. The pyramidal traveling fronts are characterized as either a combination of planar traveling fronts on the lateral surfaces or a combination of two-dimensional V-form waves on the edges of the pyramid. 5Entire solution in an ignition nonlocal dispersal equation:Asymmetric kernel显示文摘This paper mainly focuses on the front-like entire solution of a classical nonlocal dispersal equation with ignition nonlinearity. Especially, the dispersal kernel function J may not be symmetric here. The asymmetry of J has a great influence on the profile of the traveling waves and the sign of the wave speeds, which further makes the properties of the entire solution more diverse. We first investigate the asymptotic behavior of the traveling wave solutions since it plays an essential role in obtaining the front-like entire solution. Due to the impact of f′(0) = 0, we can no longer use the common method which mainly depends on Ikehara theorem and bilateral Laplace transform to study the asymptotic rates of the nondecreasing traveling wave and the nonincreasing one tending to 0, respectively, so we adopt another method to investigate them. 8Pulsating waves and entire solutions for a spatially periodic nonlocal dispersal system with a quiescent stage显示文摘This paper deals with the pulsating waves and entire solutions for a spatially periodic nonlocal dispersal model with a quiescent stage. By the method of super-and subsolutions together with the comparison principle, we establish the existence of pulsating waves with any speed larger than the spreading speed. The construction of the super-and subsolutions depends on the principal eigenvalue theory for a periodic eigenvalue problem with partially degenerate nonlocal dispersal. The joint results of this paper and our recent work(Wang J B, Li W T, Sun J W. Global dynamics and spreading speeds for a partially degenerate system with non-local dispersal in periodic habitats. Proc Roy Soc Edinburgh Sect A, 2018, 148: 849–880) show that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed of pulsating waves for the considered system. 12Reactant enrichment in hollow void of Pt NPs@MnOx nanoreactors for boosting hydrogenation performance显示文摘In confined mesoscopic spaces,the unraveling of a catalytic mechanism with complex mass transfer and adsorption processes such as reactant enrichment is a great challenge.In this study,a hollow nanoarchitecture of MnOx-encapsulated Pt nanoparticles was designed as a nanoreactor to investigate the reactant enrichment in a mesoscopic hollow void.By employing advanced characterization techniques,we found that the reactant-enrichment behavior is derived from directional diffusion of the reactant driven through the local concentration gradient and this increased the amount of reactant.Combining experimental results with density functional theory calculations,the superior cinnamyl alcohol(COL)selectivity originates from the selective adsorption of cinnamaldehyde(CAL)and the rapid formation and desorption of COL in the MnOx shell.The superb performance of 95%CAL conversion and 95%COL selectivity is obtained at only 0.5 MPa H2 and 40 min.Our findings showcase that a rationally designed nanoreactor co uld boost catalytic performance in chemoselective hydrogenation,which can be of great aid and potential in various application scenarios.Yanfu Ma Liwei Wang Wantong Zhao Tianyi Liu Haitao Li Wenhao Luo Qike Jiang Wei Liu Qihua Yang Jun Huang Riguang Zhang Jian Liu GQMax Lu Can Li 2023National Science Review2023,10,10:0

14A review of novel ternary nano-layered MAX phases reinforced AZ91D magnesium composite显示文摘In recent decades, the demand for lightweight and high specific strength materials brings about the development of magnesium matrix composites. Different from some traditional binary ceramic particles, such as SiC, Al_(2)O_(3), the novel ternary nano-layered M_(n+1)AX_(n)(MAX)phase carbide or nitride ceramics exhibit metal-like properties and self-lubricate capacity(where “M” is an early transition metal, “A” belongs to the group A element, “X” is C or/and N, and n = 1–3). Ti_(2)AlC, as the representative of the MAX phase, was interestingly introduced into the magnesium matrix. Layered Ti_(2)AlC MAX phased reinforced AZ91D magnesium composites manufactured through the stir casting exhibit sufficient deformation capacity due to unique deformation behaviors of MAX, namely delamination and the formation of kinking band. Further,the Ti_(2)AlC-AZ91D composites exhibit a distinctive characteristic in strengthening mechanism, damping mechanism and tribological capacity due to the other special properties of MAX phase, such as self-lubricated property. Accordingly, to give a comprehensive understanding, we overviewed the fabrication process, microstructural characterization, mechanical properties, damping property and tribological capacity on these composites. In order to understand the A-site effect in MAX phase on the microstructure, we introduced another representative Ti_(3)SiC_(2)MAX phase to explain the interfacial evolution. In addition, due to the high aspect ratio of MAX, MAX particles could be orientationally regulated in Mg matrix by plastic deformation such as hot extrusion. Herein, we discussed the anisotropic mechanical and physical properties of the textured composites produced by hot extrusion.
