| 1 | Topographic species-habitat associations of tree species in a heterogeneous tropical karst seasonal rain forest, China显示文摘Aims Tropical and subtropical karst forests of south China are under increas-ing pressure from over-exploitation causing widespread habitat degra-dation and biodiversity loss.Previous research has demonstrated that topography,as a proxy for resource availability,plays an important role in shaping tree species distributions in tropical forests.However,the association between growth stages and habitats types has not been considered in this analysis.Our aim was to examine the differences among different habitat types to determine whether tree species show similar species-habitat associations at young and mature life stages.Methods We used multivariate regression tree analysis to examined species-habitat associations among eight topographically defined habitats.The results were tested with a torus-translation test and canonical correspondence analysis(CCA)for 74 species in a 15 ha karst tropi-cal seasonal rain forest at the Nonggang National Natural Reserve in south China.We considered two life stages(young and mature)of trees species that showed a positive association with topography.Important Findings We found marked differences in community characteristics and number of associations among the eight habitats.Of the 74 species subjected to torus-translation test,63 had significant positive and 70 had significant negative associations with one or more of the eight habitats.Positive associations were more frequent in higher elevation habitats and negative associations were more frequent in lower eleva-tion habitats.This suggests that edaphic and hydrological variation related to topography play important roles in habitat partitioning in heterogeneous karst forests.For the 63 tree species with significant positive associations to at least one habitat,40 of them had the same positive association at young and mature life stages.The CCA revealed that the six topographic variables considered had consistent relation-ships with species distribution among all individuals and their two life stages.This indicates that most of the karst forest tree species show consistent associations with a single habitat throughout their life.We conclude that niche differentiation plays an important role in main-taining the diversity of this heterogeneous species-rich karst forest. | Yili Guo Bin Wang Azim U.Mallik Fuzhao Huang Wusheng Xiang Tao Ding Shujun Wen Shuhua Lu Dongxing Li Yunlin He Xiankun Li | 2017 | Journal of Plant Ecology2017,10,3: | 6 |

| 6 | Analysis on the effectiveness of decoupling capacitor on mitigating radiated emission from power ground planes by BEM显示文摘The radiation emission(RE) of multilayer printed circuit board(PCB) will cause electromagnetic compatibility problem. An efficient numerical method for evaluating the effectiveness of decoupling capacitors in reducing RE from power ground(P/G) planes in PCB was presented. A two-dimensional boundary-element method(BEM) was used to establish the radiation model. Then, the RE was calculated by equivalent magnetic current of edge field around P/G planes. Furthermore, the radiation and input impedance of P/G planes mounted decoupling capacitors were calculated for frequency up to 5 GHz. The results were compared to those of the case without decoupling capacitors. It shows that the decoupling capacitors can effectively decrease RE except for anti-resonant frequency. | 12 | De Novo Dissecting the Three‑Dimensional Facial Morphology of 2379 Han Chinese Individuals显示文摘Phenotypic diversity,especially that of facial morphology,has not been fully investigated in the Han Chinese,which is the largest ethnic group in the world.In this study,we systematically analyzed a total of 14,838 facial traits representing 15 categories with both a large-scale three-dimensional(3D)manual landmarking database and computer-aided facial segmented phenotyping in 2379 Han Chinese individuals.Our results illustrate that homogeneous and heterogeneous facial morphological traits exist among Han Chinese populations across the three geographical regions:Zhengzhou,Taizhou,and Nanning.We identifed 1560 shared features from extracted phenotypes,which characterized well the basic facial morphology of the Han Chinese.In particular,heterogeneous phenotypes showing population structures corresponded to geographical subpopulations.The greatest facial variation among these geographical populations was the angle of glabella,left subalare,and right cheilion(p=3.4×10^(−161)).Interestingly,we found that Han Chinese populations could be classifed into northern Han,central Han,and southern Han at the phenotypic level,and the facial morphological variation pattern of central Han Chinese was between the typical diferentiation of northern and southern Han Chinese.This result was highly consistent with the results revealed by the genetic data.These fndings provide new insights into the analysis of multidimensional phenotypes as well as a valuable resource for further facial phenotype-genotype association studies in Han Chinese and East Asian populations. | Hui Qiao Jingze Tan Shaoqing Wen Menghan Zhang Shuhua Xu Li Jin | 2024 | Phenomics2024,4,1: | 0 |
| 13 | Genome-wide DNA methylation landscape of four Chinese populations and epigenetic variation linked to Tibetan high-altitude adaptation显示文摘DNA methylation(DNAm)is one of the major epigenetic mechanisms in humans and is important in diverse cellular processes.The variation of DNAm in the human population is related to both genetic and environmental factors.However,the DNAm profiles have not been investigated in the Chinese population of diverse ethnicities.Here,we performed double-strand bisulfite sequencing(DSBS)for 32 Chinese individuals representing four major ethnic groups including Han Chinese,Tibetan,Zhuang,and Mongolian.We identified a total of 604,649 SNPs and quantified DNAm at more than 14 million Cp Gs in the population.We found global DNAm-based epigenetic structure is different from the genetic structure of the population,and ethnic difference only partially explains the variation of DNAm.Surprisingly,non-ethnic-specific DNAm variations showed stronger correlation with the global genetic divergence than these ethnic-specific DNAm.Differentially methylated regions(DMRs)among these ethnic groups were found around genes in diverse biological processes.Especially,these DMR-genes between Tibetan and nonTibetans were enriched around high-altitude genes including EPAS1 and EGLN1,suggesting DNAm alteration plays an important role in high-altitude adaptation.Our results provide the first batch of epigenetic maps for Chinese populations and the first evidence of the association of epigenetic changes with Tibetans'high-altitude adaptation. | Zeshan Lin Yan Lu Guoliang Yu Huajing Teng Bao Wang Yajun Yang Qinglan Li Zhongsheng Sun Shuhua Xu Wen Wang Peng Tian | 2023 | Science China(Life Sciences)2023,66,10: | 0 |
| 14 | Effect of thermal oxidation on microstructures and mechanical properties of nanoporous coppers显示文摘Nanoporous copper oxides were formed by thermal oxidation of nanoporous copper at 150°C–270°C. The oxidation process of nanoporous copper was investigated by using XRD, SEM, nitrogen adsorption, HRTEM and nanoindentation. The variation of microstructures and mechanical properties was analyzed. The results showed that the content of copper oxides increased, the ligament gradually coarsened, and the mechanical properties of nanoporous structure were improved with the increase of oxidation temperature. When the oxidation temperature was below 210°C, the ligament surface was oxidized to Cu_2O, and the composite structure of Cu_2O@Cu was formed. The formation of CuO occurred since 220°C, and the composite structure of CuO/Cu_2 O@Cu was formed. | 15 | Nitric Oxide Regulates Mitochondrial Fatty Acids and Promotes CBF Expression of Peach Fruit during Cold Storage显示文摘Low-temperature storage is convenient for postharvest preservation of peach fruit,but peach fruit is sensitive to cold damage,which lowers its quality.Nitric oxide(NO)has the potential to improve the bitter resistance of peach fruit.In this work,peach fruit was treated with 15μmol L^(−1)NO and 5μmol L^(−1)c-PTIO[2-(4-carboxyphenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxo-3-oxide],to study changes in mitochondrial fatty acids and expression of the C-repeat binding factor(CBF).The results showed that 15μmol L^(−1)exogenous NO significantly maintained fruit quality,reduced peroxidation of mitochondrial fatty acids,increased the activities of the antioxidants superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT),ascorbic acid peroxidase(APX),and reduced the content of hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)).Meanwhile,NO treatment suppressed the increase in browning index and ion leakage rate,increased the activity of S-nitrosoglutathione reductase(GSNOR),the contents of S-nitrosothiols(SNOs),and the ratios of mitochondrial NAD^(+)/NADH and NADP^(+)/NADPH,increased the expression levels of PpCBF1/5/6.However,the expression levels of PpCBF2/3/4 were not significantly regulated by exogenous NO.Peaches treated with c-PTIO showed opposite effects to those treated with exogenous NO.These results suggest that exogenous NO can improve antioxidant capacity,preserve mitochondrial fatty acids,and upregulate the expression of PpCBF1/5/6 to alleviate cold tolerance and maintain the peach quality during storage. | Xiaoshan Guo Dandan Huang Siyu Wen Yang Bai Shuhua Zhu Jianrong Feng | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,2: | 0 |
