1Focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 regulates bone homeostasis in mice显示文摘Our recent studies demonstrate that the focal adhesion protein Kindlin-2 is critical for chondrogenesis and early skeletal development. Here, we show that deleting Kindlin-2 from osteoblasts using the 2.3-kb mouse Col1 a1-Cre transgene minimally impacts bone mass in mice, but deleting Kindlin-2 using the 10-kb mouse Dmp1-Cre transgene, which targets osteocytes and mature osteoblasts, results in striking osteopenia in mice. Kindlin-2 loss reduces the osteoblastic population but increases the osteoclastic and adipocytic populations in the bone microenvironment. Kindlin-2 loss upregulates sclerostin in osteocytes,downregulates β-catenin in osteoblasts, and inhibits osteoblast formation and differentiation in vitro and in vivo. Upregulation ofβ-catenin in the mutant cells reverses the osteopenia induced by Kindlin-2 deficiency. Kindlin-2 loss additionally increases the expression of RANKL in osteocytes and increases osteoclast formation and bone resorption. Kindlin-2 deletion in osteocytes promotes osteoclast formation in osteocyte/bone marrow monocyte cocultures, which is significantly blocked by an anti-RANKLneutralizing antibody. 2Classification and comparison of physical and chemical properties of corn stalk from three regions in China显示文摘Corn stalk samples from Anhui,Jiangxi and Shanghai were used as test materials.Their physical,chemical and thermo-chemical engineering characteristics were analyzed.The similarities and differences in properties of corn stalk from the three regions were determined using SIMCA-P and SPSS software in order to obtain a proper energy utilization method of corn stalk.The results show that the corn stalk from Shanghai has significant differences from the samples of Jiangxi and Anhui.In particular,the following properties of corn stalk from Shanghai such as the contents of cellulose,calcium(Ca),iron(Fe),crude ash,volatile matter,carbon(C),nitrogen(N),and oxygen(O)are significantly different from those of Jiangxi and Anhui samples(P<0.05).While other properties such as the contents of magnesium(Mg),copper(Cu),zinc(Zn),moisture,hydrogen(H),and sulfur(S)have no significant difference among samples of three regions.Compared with the corn stalk in Anhui and Jiangxi,the Shanghai samples are more suitable for the production of ethanol because of their higher ratio of cellulose to hemi-cellulose content.Because of its high content of ash and low calorific value,the Shanghai corn stalk is suitable for the gasification process instead of for direct combustion or bio-oil production.The research can provide a reference for raw material selection for biomass energy production and utilization.Wang Lu Liu Ronghou Sun Chen Cai Wenfei Tao Yiwei Yin Renzhan Mei Yuanfei 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,6:5

4Review of regional carbon counting methods for the Chinese major ecological engineering programs显示文摘In order to improve environment and relieve poverty, China has launched a series of major ecological engineering programs since the 1980 s. These include the Natural Forest Conservation Program, the Sloping Cropland Conversion Program, the Desertification Combating Program, and the Protection Forest System Construction Program. There is a growing need to quantify the contributions of these programs to regional carbon stocks.However, the lack of widely accepted, robust methods is one of the key obstacles to quantification. The objective of this study was to review existing methods for quantifying regional carbon stocks and then recommend suitable ones for the Chinese ecological engineering programs. 5A dendrite-free Li plating host towards high utilization of Li metal anode in Li–O_2 battery显示文摘The intense interest of Li–O_2 battery stems from its ultrahigh theoretical energy density, but its application is still hindered by the issues of Li anode. Herein, RuO_2-CNTs composite, a conventional O_2 cathode catalyst in Li–O_2 battery, is first utilized as an anode host for dendrite-free Li plating/stripping with high Coulombic efficiency. It is demonstrated that such excellent plating/stripping performance arises from the lithiophilicity characteristic of Ru nanoparticles(that is derived from the in-situ electrochemical conversion from RuO_2 to Ru/Li_2O) and buffer space provided by CNTs. 6Extraction and analysis of saline soil deformation in the Qarhan Salt Lake region (in Qinghai, China) by the sentinel SBAS-InSAR technique显示文摘The instability of saline soil foundation affects the safety of artificial construction,and may cause ground collapse,building destruction and road damage.It is fundamental to reduce the potential engineering geological disasters by exploring the dynamic evolution of saline soil.Most of the previous researches of saline soil were conducted by simulated experiments and traditional geodetic surveying methods.Restricted to the limited sampling points,the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics of saline soil were difficult to find out in a large scale.This paper exploited SBAS-InSAR method to extract the deformation of the Qarhan Salt Lake(in Qinghai,China)section along Qinghai-Tibet railway,based on 119 image data acquired by Sentinel-1A from 2015 to 2020.The results showed that the deformation trends varied frequently in this saline mud flat.Between the adjacent areas with different deformation trends along Qinghai-Tibet railway,discontinuities caused by uplift and subsidence were very obvious.Besides,among the areas with brine exploitation or artificial construction,the maximum subsidence rate reached50 mm/yr,and the maximum cumulative subsidence exceeded 320 mm in the latest 5 years.In the saline mud flat closed to the rivers and lakes,the deformation trend was continuous uplift.Nevertheless,there were obvious seasonal deformation characteristics in those areas far away from the water body.Further analysis found out a sharply subsidence caused by the salt collapsibility appeared in rainy seasons.While an uplift trend induced by the salt swelling or frost heave was remarkable in dry seasons.Subsequently,the relationships were analyzed between the time series deformation and external environmental fac-tors.Furthermore,the deformation mechanism of saline soilin the Qarhan Salt Lake region was inter-preted then.In general,this study provides complete spatiotemporal evolution information of saline soil,and demonstrates the deformation characteristics of saline soil in the Qarhan Salt Lake region suc-cessfully.Related results would contribute to the safety monitoring for large-scale infrastructure con-struction in the saline soil areas.Wei Xiang Rui Zhang Guoxiang Liu Xiaowen Wang Wenfei Mao Bo Zhang Jialun Cai Jiawen Bao Yin Fu 2022Geodesy and Geodynamics2022,13,2:2

8Size-resolved effective density of submicron particles during summertime in the rural atmosphere of Beijing, China显示文摘Particle density is an important physical property of atmospheric particles.The information on high time-resolution size-resolved particle density is essential for understanding the atmospheric physical and chemical aging processes of aerosols particles.In the present study,a centrifugal particle mass analyzer(CPMA) combined with a differential mobility analyzer(DMA) was deployed to determine the size-resolved effective density of 50 to 350 nm particles at a rural site of Beijing during summer 2016.The measured particle effective densities decreased with increasing particle sizes and ranged from 1.43 to 1.55 g/cm^3,on average.The effective particle density distributions were dominated by a mode peaked at around 1.5 g/cm^3 for 50 to350 nm particles.Extra modes with peaks at 1.0,0.8,and 0.6 g/cm3 for 150,240,and 350 nm particles,which might be freshly emitted soot particles,were observed during intensive primary emissions episodes.The particle effective densities showed a diurnal variation pattern,with higher values during daytime.A case study showed that the effective density of Aitken mode particles during the new particle formation(NPF) event decreased considerably,indicating the significant contribution of organics to new particle growth.Kai Qiao Zhijun Wu Xiangyu Pei Qianyun Liu Dongjie Shang Jing Zheng Zhuofei Du Wenfei Zhu Yusheng Wu Shengrong Lou Song Guo Chak K.Chan Ravi Kant Pathak Mattias Hallquist Min Hu 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,11:2
9Role,path,and vision of“5G+BDS/GNSS”显示文摘Communication,positioning,navigation,and decision-making abilities have evolved into Positioning,Navigation,and Timing(PNT)intelligence during the long process of human migration and hence promoted human evolution.This article defines intelligence and smartness from the perspective of biological intelligence.New requirements as a result of the development of communication,navigation,time service,and decision making are identified in this study.The article points out that there are many radio PNT service methods,such as 5G,the new-generation high-speed communication networks and the low-latency and ubiquitous mobile communication networks as well as Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS),but the integrated application is especially important in providing technical support for the adjustment and control of the physical world by intelligent sensing,cognition,decision-making,and precise coordination.The fusion of 5G and GNSS[including BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)]information with the corresponding equipment can be embedded into a machine to make it intelligent.Furthermore,the fused information of 5G and GNSS together with the environment information may extend human perception and physical world control ability in terms of time and space scale.It will help to develop critical information infrastructure in the age of intelligence,which will also extend the definition of artificial intelligence.Additionally,the“5G+BDS/GNSS”fusion path is analyzed explicitly herein in terms of realization methods,information processing,and new application services.On the whole,the application of“5G+BDS/GNSS+satellite-based communication”as a critical infrastructure for land,sea,air,space and network spatiotemporal control rights is proposed.Jingnan Liu Kefu Gao Wenfei Guo Jingsong Cui Chi Guo 2020Satellite Navigation2020,1,1:2
10Simultaneous Biological Removal of p-Cresol, Sulfide and Nitrate by Denitrification显示文摘Biological removal of sulfide, nitrate, and p-cresol at a loading rate of 340 gS/(m^3 · d), 340 gN/(m^3 · d) and600 gC/(m^3 · d), respectively, was achieved in an upflow anaerobic sludge blanket(UASB) reactor. The ratio of C/S could affect the elemental sulfur(S^0) accumulation, and the C/S ratio of 1.75:1 was optimal for S^0 accumulation. Strains Pseudomonas sp., Simplicispira sp., and Rhizobium sp. could likely yield heterotrophs. Strains Arcobacter sp.,Sulfurimonas sp., Sulfurovum sp., and Sulfurospirillum sp. are the autotrophics required for the proposed UASB system. 14Interferometric coherence and seasonal deformation characteristics analysis of saline soil based on Sentinel-1A time series imagery显示文摘Affected by the natural environmental and human activity factors,significant seasonal differences appear on the regional scattering characteristic and ground deformation of saline soil.Interferometric decorrelation due to season replacement limits the conventional multi-temporal interferometric synthetic aperture radar(MT-InSAR)technique and its application in such areas.To extend the monitoring capability in the salt desert area,we select a vast basin of saline soil around Howz-e-Soltan Salt Lake of Iran as the study area and present an improved MTInSAR for experimental research.Based on 131 C-band Sentinel-1 A images collected between October 2014 to July 2020,1896 refined interferograms in total are selected from all interferogram candidates.Interferometric coherence analysis shows that the coherence in the saline soil area has an apparent seasonal variation,and the soil moisture affected by the precipitation may be the main factor that leads to the seasonal variation.Subsequently,the deformation characteristics of saline soil under different environmental conditions and human activity factors are compared and analyzed in detail.Related deformation mechanisms of different saline soil types are initially revealed by combining interferometric coherence,meteorological data,and engineering geological characteristics of saline soil.Related results would provide reference for the large-scale infrastructure construction engineering in similar saline soil areas.ZHANG Rui XIANG Wei LIU Guoxiang WANG Xiaowen MAO Wenfei FU Yin CAI Jialun ZHANG Bo 2021Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2021,32,6:1
15Mutations associated with egg adaptation of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus in laboratory based surveillance in China, 2009–2016显示文摘Mutations of influenza virus associated with adaptation occurring during passage in embryonated chicken eggs could result in antigenic change or reduced vaccine effectiveness.In this study,we investigated the mutations of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 egg isolates from the Chinese National Influenza Surveillance Network between 2009 and 2016.Thirteen mutations were identified in the hemagglutinin(HA)protein from viruses passaged in eggs,in comparing to those in cells.After scanning public database,four mutations,D127E,L191I,D222G/N and Q223R in HA1,which may alter the receptor-binding specificity,were observed frequently.Although the A(H1N1)pdm09 virus has evolved in human for nearly ten years,most egg-cultured viruses acquired one or more further mutations.Using the egg isolates for influenza surveillance requires extra caution because of these selected mutations,and their impacts on antigenicity and receptor-binding property need further evaluation.Currently,most of the influenza vaccines are produced using egg isolates,particularly in China.Thus,there is an urge to promote the establishment of an alternative influenza vaccine production platform.Lei Yang Yanhui Cheng Xiang Zhao Hejiang Wei Minju Tan Xiyan Li Wenfei Zhu Weijuan Huang Wenbing Chen Jia Liu Zi Li Yuelong Shu Dayan Wang 2019Biosafety and Health2019,1,1:1

18Assembly process and source tracking of microbial communities in sediments of Dongting Lake显示文摘●Soil erosion resulted in homogenization of bacterial communities in the watershed.●Microbial community heterogeneity among erosion sites made soil tracing possible.●Assembly process results showed that the tracking results can achieve high precision.●Dryland was the main source of sediment deposition based on the result of FEAST.Sediment source tracing can accurately provide a theoretical basis for controlling soil erosion effectively,by identifying the most serious types of land use.Traditional sediment tracing methods are based on physical,chemical,biological,and composite fingerprinting,which have not included microbes.As high-throughput sequencing becomes more prevalent,microorganisms can provide more information than what we think.Thus,whether the microorganism can also be used as a special fingerprint factor for sediment source identification during soil erosion,we have tested it by using microbial source tracking tool FEAST to quantify the microbe contribution from five types of eroded land(including dryland,urban,paddy field,forest and grassland)to the depositional areas(Niubitan)in the Yuanjiang basin.The source microbial community in the erosive area was heterogeneous,and assembly process analysis further demonstrated that the source tracking results could reach higher accuracy.The results of FEAST showed that dryland(35.50%),urban(17.21%),paddy field(8.14%),and forest(1.07%)were the major contributors to Niubitan.Our results follow the general soil erosion rules and prove its validity.Taken together,a new perspective is provided by these results for tracing sediment sources in erosion-sedimentary systems.Wenfei Liao Di Tong Xiaodong Nie Yaojun Liu Fengwei Ran Shanshan Liao Jia Chen Aoqi Zeng Zhongwu Li 2023Soil Ecology Letters2023,5,4:1
19Simultaneous bioimaging of MMP-2 and MMP-7 via Au-Se constructed fluorescence nanoprobe显示文摘Au-Se bond strategy has been applied to construct fluorescence nanoprobe that is being used to simultaneously dual-image the tumor markers matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)and matrix metalloproteinase-7(MMP-7)in vitro.The two Se-terminating ligand peptide chains respectively labeled with fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)and 5-Carboxytetramethylrhodamine(5-TAMRA)dyes are attached to the surface of Au nanoparticles(NPs).The nanoprobe can be specifically cut off by MMP-2 and MMP-7 respectively to carry out significant enhanced fluorescence recovery for simultaneously imaging both markers.The nanoprobe not only displays high selectivity and sensitivity towards MMP-2 and MMP-7,but also has strong anti-interference stability against biothiols and enhanced fidelity for avoiding'false positive'results.This approach offers new perspectives in designing tumor-related early diagnosis approaches and also provides strategies for clinical applications.Xiaonan Gao Wenfei Guo Lulu Jiang Bo Hu Xiaojun Liu Kehua Xu Bo Tang 2020Science China Chemistry2020,63,1:1
