3Diabetes mellitus related bone metabolism and periodontal disease显示文摘Diabetes mellitus and periodontal disease are chronic diseases affecting a large number of populations worldwide.Changed bone metabolism is one of the important long-term complications associated with diabetes mellitus.Alveolar bone loss is one of the main outcomes of periodontitis,and diabetes is among the primary risk factors for periodontal disease.In this review,we summarise the adverse effects of diabetes on the periodontium in periodontitis subjects,focusing on alveolar bone loss.Bone remodelling begins with osteoclasts resorbing bone,followed by new bone formation by osteoblasts in the resorption lacunae.Therefore,we discuss the potential mechanism of diabetes-enhanced bone loss in relation to osteoblasts and osteoclasts.Ying-Ying Wu E Xiao Dana T Graves 2015International Journal of Oral Science2015,7,2:30
4Zircon SHRIMP U-Pb dating of granites from Dulan and the chronological framework of the North Qaidam UHP belt, NW China显示文摘Zircon SHRIMP dating of granites from Dulan,east segment of North Qaidam UHP belt shows that they are 406.6±3.5 Ma for Yematan-E,407.3±4.3 and 397±6 Ma for Balijiehatan-W,404.5±4.0 and 397.0±3.7 Ma for Shuiwenzhan-N,380.5±5.0 Ma for Shuiwenzhan-S,382.5±3.6 and 372.5±2.8 Ma for Chachagongma.These granites from Dulan represent the products of the third and fourth periods of Paleozoic magmatism in North Qaidam.Geochemically,the granitoids with metalumious to weak peratuminous are quartz diorite,granodiorite,and granite in composition and mainly belong to calc-alkaline series,a few samples to calc or alkali-calc series.The third period of granites is a rock association of granodiorite+granite,with initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios from 0.7082 to 0.7110 and T2DM model ages from 1.41–1.90 Ga;and the fourth period of granites is a rock association of quartz diorite+granodiorite+granite,with initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios from 0.7072 to 0.7091 and T2DM model ages from 1.07–1.38 Ga.Therefore,the third period of granites has higher initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios and T2DM model ages.On the contrary,the fourth period of granites has Nd(t)values from 0.6 to-3.0,higher than that of the third granite with Nd(t)values-3.2 to-9.3.Thus,the data comparison indicates that the third granites may derive from Paleo-proterzoic continental crust with mantle material whereas the fourth granites may derive from the Meso-proterzoic basalt crust with continental material.Combined with regional geology,we thought that the third granites were formed relative to plate exhumation and the fourth granites to delamination of the lithospheric mantle.WU CaiLai GAO YuanHong LI ZhaoLi LEI Min QIN HaiPeng LI MinZe LIU ChunHua Ronald B FROST Paul T ROBINSON Joseph L WOODEN 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12:21

6中国城市地区成年人二手烟暴露水平及相关知识和态度调查显示文摘目的 了解中国城市地区成年人二手烟暴露水平及其相关知识态度.方法 利用全球成人烟草调查中国调查(GATS)、国际烟草控制政策评估项目中国调查(ITC)中有关二手烟暴露、禁烟规定、二手烟相关知识态度的变量,使用SAS软件计算率及其95%CI.结果 2项调查中调查对象报告的工作场所室内全面禁烟的比例均低于40%.调查对象报告在餐厅看到吸烟现象比例在各类场所中最高(83.4% ~ 95.6%),其次为工作场所(53.3% ~ 84.0%),在医疗卫生机构、学校、公共交通工具看到吸烟现象的比例较低.GATS调查中60.6%的吸烟者和68.5%的非吸烟者知晓二手烟导致肺癌,但只有三分之一的调查对象知晓二手烟导致成年人心脏病.ITC调查对象对二手烟危害的知晓率高于GATS,但知晓二手烟导致成年人心脏病的比例仅有58.2%.ITC调查对象对学校、出租车、医院、政府机构全面禁烟的支持率较高(>70%),但对工作场所全面禁烟的支持率仅有50.9%和60.9%.结论 中国城市地区室内工作场所全面禁烟的比例较低,二手烟暴露情况严重,公众对二手烟危害的认识以及对工作场所全面禁烟的支持率有待提高.冯国泽 姜垣 Zhao Luhua Meng Gang Wu Changbao Anne CK Quah Geoffrey T Fong 2014中华流行病学杂志2014,35,9:18

8The enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP显示文摘In this paper we present the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry mission—eXTP. eXTP is a space science mission designed to study fundamental physics under extreme conditions of density, gravity and magnetism. The mission aims at determining the equation of state of matter at supra-nuclear density, measuring effects of QED, and understanding the dynamics of matter in strong-field gravity. In addition to investigating fundamental physics, eXTP will be a very powerful observatory for astrophysics that will provide observations of unprecedented quality on a variety of galactic and extragalactic objects. 9等轴球晶凝固多相体系内热溶质对流、补缩流及晶粒运动的数值模拟 Ⅱ.模型的应用显示文摘利用等轴球晶三相凝固模型模拟了A356铝合金半固态浆料冷却斜槽法制备过程,研究了晶粒密度、尺寸及固相分数的分布与工艺参数的关系.结果表明,在斜槽浇注处晶粒形核密度最大,在斜槽末端晶粒尺寸、固相分数最大,在铸型中这三者的最终分布大致均匀.适当降低浇注温度有助于提高斜槽上形核密度和固相分数及降低晶粒尺寸.此外,还模拟了热溶质对流及补缩流在Al-4%Cu(质量分数)合金等轴球晶凝固过程所起的作用,以及晶粒运动及补缩流对合金自由表面和宏观偏析形成的影响.结果表明,凝固初期热对流及补缩流为主导,凝固中期热溶质对流为主导,凝固后期补缩流为主导;晶粒运动受阻程度直接影响自由表面形状,补缩流考虑与否导致完全不同的宏观偏析图.实验测得晶粒尺寸与模拟结果分布较相似,但其绝对值存在较大差异.王同敏 李廷举 曹志强 金俊泽 T Grimmig A Bührig-Polaczek M Wu A Ludwig 2006金属学报2006,42,6:7
10Hematological disorders and pulmonary hypertension显示文摘Pulmonary hypertension(PH),a serious disorder with a high morbidity and mortality rate,is known to occur in a number of unrelated systemic diseases.Several hematological disorders such as sickle cell disease,thalassemia and myeloproliferative diseases develop PH which worsens the prognosis.Associated oxidant injury and vascular inflammation cause endothelial damage and dysfunction.Pulmonary vascular endothelial damage/dysfunction is an early event in PH resulting in the loss of vascular reactivity,activation of proliferative and antiapoptotic pathways leading to vascular remodeling,elevated pulmonary artery pressure,right ventricular hypertrophy and premature death.Hemolysis observed in hematological disorders leads to free hemoglobin which rapidly scavenges nitric oxide(NO),limiting its bioavailability,and leading to endothelial dysfunction.In addition,hemolysis releases arginase into the circulation which converts L-arginine to ornithine,thus bypassing NO production.Furthermore,treatments for hematological disorders such as immunosuppressive therapy,splenectomy,bone marrow transplantation,and radiation have been shown to contribute to the development of PH.Recent studies have shown deregulated iron homeostasis in patients with cardiopulmonary diseases including pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH).Several studies have reported low iron levels in patients with idiopathic PAH,and iron deficiency is an important risk factor.This article reviews PH associated with hematological disorders and its mechanism:and iron homeostasis and its relevance to PH.Rajamma Mathew Jing Huang Joseph M Wu John T Fallon Michael H Gewitz 2016World Journal of Cardiology2016,8,12:6

14Th1 cytokines promote T-cell binding to antigen-presenting cells via enhanced hyaluronan production and accumulation at the immune synapse显示文摘Hyaluronan(HA)production by dendritic cells(DCs)is known to promote antigen presentation and to augment T-cell activation and proliferation.We hypothesized that pericellular HA can function as intercellular‘glue’directly mediating T cell–DC binding.Using primary human cells,we observed HA-dependent binding between T cells and DCs,which was abrogated upon pre-treatment of the DCs with 4-methylumbelliferone(4-MU),an agent which blocks HA synthesis.Furthermore,T cells regulate HA production by DCs via T cell-derived cytokines in a T helper(Th)subset-specific manner,as demonstrated by the observation that cell-culture supernatants from Th1 but not Th2 clones promote HA production.Similar effects were seen upon the addition of exogenous Th1 cytokines,IL-2,interferon c(IFN-c)and tumor necrosis factor a(TNF-a).The critical factors which determined the extent of DC–T cell binding in this system were the nature of the pre-treatment the DCs received and their capacity to synthesize HA,as T-cell clones which were pre-treated with monensin,added to block cytokine secretion,bound equivalently irrespective of their Th subset.These data support the existence of a feedforward loop wherein T-cell cytokines influence DC production of HA,which in turn affects the extent of DC–T cell binding.We also document the presence of focal deposits of HA at the immune synapse between T-cells and APC and on dendritic processes thought to be important in antigen presentation.These data point to a pivotal role for HA in DC–T cell interactions at the IS.Paul L Bollyky Stephen P Evanko Rebecca P Wu Susan Potter-Perigo S Alice Long Brian Kinsella Helena Reijonen Kelly Guebtner Brandon Teng Christina K Chan Kathy R Braun John A Gebe Gerald T Nepom Thomas N Wight 2010Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010,7,3:3

16Centrifugal model test on a riverine landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir induced by rainfall and water level fluctuation显示文摘Frequent soil landslide events are recorded in the Three Gorges Reservoir area,China,making it necessary to investigate the failure mode of such riverside landslides.Geotechnical centrifugal test is considered to be the most realistic laboratory model,which can reconstruct the required geo-stress.In this study,the Liangshuijing landslide in the Three Gorgers Reservoir area is selected for a scaled centrifugal model experiment,and a water pump system is employed to retain the rainfall condition.Using the techniques of digital photography and pore water pressure transducers,water level fluctuation is controlled,and multi-physical data are thus obtained,including the pore water pressure,earth pressure,surface displacement and deep displacement.The analysis results indicate that:Three stages were set in the test(waterflooding stage,rainfall stage and drainage stage).Seven transverse cracks with wide of 1–5 mm appeared during the model test,of which 3 cracks at the toe landslide were caused by reservoir water fluctuation,and the cracks at the middle and rear part were caused by rainfall.During rainfall process,the maximum displacement of landslide model reaches 3 cm.And the maximum deformation of the model exceeds 12 cm at the drainage stage.The failure process of the slope model can be divided into four stages:microcracks appearance and propagation stage,thrust-type failure stage,retrogressive failure stage,and holistic failure stage.When the thrust-type zone caused by rainfall was connected or even overlapped with the retrogressive failure zone caused by the drainage,the landslide would start,which displayed a typical composite failure pattern.The failure mode and deformation mechanism under the coupling actions of water level fluctuation and rainfall are revealed in the model test,which could appropriately guide for the analysis and evaluation of riverside landslides.Fasheng Miao Yiping Wu Ákos Török Linwei Li Yang Xue 2022Geoscience Frontiers2022,13,3:3

20Correlation of mechanical properties in bulk metallic glasses with ^(27)Al NMR characteristics显示文摘We report 27Al NMR and magnetic susceptibility measurements of Zr and ZrHf-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs). 27Al NMR Knight shift shows that there exists a clear correlation between the local electronic properties at Al sites and mechanical properties.
