| 1 | Particles carried by ascending gas flow at the Tongchanghe copper mine,Guizhou Province,China显示文摘We collected and analyzed, using transmission electron microscopy, the particles carried by ascending gas flow in soil above the concealed orebody of the Tongchanghe copper mine, Guizhou Province. Particles of native copper, native copper-iron alloy, and native chromium-iron-copper alloy particles in the ascending gas flow were first discovered. Commonly, they were aggre- gations of relatively small particles. Individual particles within aggregations were subcircular, elliptical, regularly polygonal, or elongate and from 5 to 40 nm in size. The aggregations were subcircular or elliptical and 20-150 nm in size. Chloride, oxide, sulfate, and hydroxide particles containing ore-forming metals in the ascending gas flow were also discovered. The elements of the particles were commonly in a high valence state, suggesting that they were formed in a near-surface oxidizing environment. Discovery of the particles extracted from the ascending gas flow above the Tongchanghe copper mineprovided a powerful tool for exploration for deep concealed orebodies. | 2 | Cascade conditional generative adversarial nets for spatial-spectral hyperspectral sample generation显示文摘Sample generation is an effective way to solve the problem of the insufficiency of training data for hyperspectral image classification.The generative adversarial network(GAN)is one of the popular deep learning methods,which utilizes adversarial training to generate the region of samples based on the required class label.In this paper,we propose cascade conditional generative adversarial nets for hyperspectral image complete spatial-spectral sample generation,named C2GAN.The C2GAN includes two stages.The stageone model consists of the spatial information generation with a window size that entails feeding random noise and the required class label.The second stage is the spatial-spectral information generation that generates spectral information of all bands in the spatial region by feeding the label regions.The visualization and verification of generated samples based on the Pavia University and Salinas datasets show superior performance,which demonstrates that our method is useful for hyperspectral image classification. | Xiaobo LIU Yulin QIAO Yonghua XIONG Zhihua CAI Peng LIU | 2020 | Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4: | 9 |
| 3 | Double-composite rectangular truss bridge and its joint analysis显示文摘This paper describes a novel composite tubular truss bridge with concrete slab and concrete-filled rectangular chords. With concrete slab plus truss system and joints reinforced with concrete and Perfobond Leiste rib, double composite truss bridge proved to be a fairly suitable solution in negative moment area. Perfobond Leiste shear connector(PBL) is widely implemented in the composite structure for its outstanding fatigue resistance. In this pilot bridge, Perfobond Leister ribs(PBR) were installed in the truss girder's joints,which played double roles as shear connector and stiffener. An erection method and overall bridge structural analysis were then presented. Typical joints in the pilot bridge were selected to analyze the effect of PBR. Investigation of the effect of PBR in concretefilled tubular joints was elaborated. Comparison has revealed that concrete-filled tubular joints with PBR have much higher constraint capability than joints without PBR. For rectangular tubular truss, the punching shear force of the concrete filled joint with PBR is approximately 43% larger than that of the joint without PBR. Fatigue performance of the joint installed with PBR was improved, which was found through analysis of the stress concentration factor of joint. The PBR installed in the joints mitigated the stress concentration factor in the chord face. | 4 | Hypoxia-stressed cardiomyocytes promote early cardiac differentiation of cardiac stem cells through HIF-1α/Jagged1/Notch1 signaling显示文摘Hypoxia is beneficial for the differentiation of stem cells transplanted for myocardial injury,but mechanisms underlying this benefit remain unsolved. Here, we report the impact of hypoxia-induced Jagged1 expression in cardiomyocytes(CMs) for driving the differentiation of cardiac stem cells(CSCs).Forced hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α) expression and physical hypoxia(5% O_2) treatment could induce Jagged1 expression in neonatal rat CMs. Pharmacological inhibition of HIF-1α by YC-1 attenuated hypoxia-promoted Jagged1 expression in CMs. An ERK inhibitor(PD98059), but not inhibitors of JNK(SP600125), Notch(DAPT), NF-κB(PTDC), JAK(AG490), or STAT3(Stattic) suppressed hypoxiainduced Jagged1 protein expression in CMs. c-Kit^+ CSCs isolated from neonatal rat hearts using a magnetic-activated cell sorting method expressed GATA4, SM22α or vWF, but not Nkx2.5 and cTnI.Moreover, 87.3% of freshly isolated CSCs displayed Notch1 receptor expression. Direct co-culture of CMs with BrdU-labeled CSCs enhanced CSCs differentiation, as evidenced by an increased number of BrdU^+/Nkx2.5^+ cells, while intermittent hypoxia for 21 days promoted co-culture-triggered differentiation of CSCs into CM-like cells. | 5 | Regulation of pathological BBB restoration via nanostructured ROS-responsive glycolipid-like copolymer entrapping siVEGF for glioblastoma targeted therapeutics显示文摘Glioblastoma(GBM)is one of the malignant brain tumors with high mortality and no curative treatments.Abnormally elevated vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in GBM seriously disrupts the blood brain barrier(BBB)with an increased permeability,resulting in poor outcome and prognosis.RNAi interference has shown strong potential to inhibit VEGF expression,thus it is necessary to development an effective and safe gene delivery system possessing the ability to cross the BBB and target GBM cells.This study aims to explore the anti-GBM effect of angiopep-2(Ap)peptide modified reactive oxygen species(ROS)cleavable thioketal(TK)linked glycolipid-like nanocarrier(CSTKSA)delivering anti-VEGF siRNA(R),termed as Ap-CSTKSA/R complexes.Ap functionalized modification produced an enhanced cellular uptake and a stronger bio-distribution of Ap-CSTKSA/R complexes in U87 MG cells and brain tumor tissues,respectively.Ap-CSTKSA/R complexes exhibited great superiority in GBM growth inhibition and finally translated into the longest survival period mainly via receptor-mediated targeting delivery,VEGF gene silencing accompanied with remarkable angiogenesis inhibition,and suppressed expression of caveolin-1 which is involved in BBB functional regulation in the occurrence and treatment of GBM.The study indicated that Ap functionalization on ROS-responsive glycolipid-like copolymer exhibits a promising and effective gene delivery platform for GBM targeted treatment. | Lijuan Wen Yu Peng Kai Wang Zhihua Huang Shiying He Ruiwen Xiong Longping Wu Fengtian Zhang Fuqiang Hu | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,2: | 2 |

| 8 | Compressional behavior of MgCr_2O_4 spinel from first-principles simulation显示文摘The compressional behavior of the MgCr_2O_4 spinel has been investigated with the CASTEP code using density functional theory and planewave pseudopotential technique. We treated the exchange-correlation interaction by both the local density approximation(LDA) and generalized gradient approximation(GGA) with the Perdew-Burker-Ernzerhof functional. Our simulation was conducted for the pressure range of 0–19 GPa. We obtained the isothermal bulk modulus(K_T) of the MgCr_2O_4 spinel as 181.46(48) GPa(GGA; low boundary) or 216.1(11) GPa(LDA; high boundary), with its first derivative(K'_T) as 4.41(6) or 4.5(1), respectively. The oxygen parameter u is not constant but negatively correlated with P, and decreases by about 0.5–0.6% for the investigated P range.
