| 1 | Spatial Properties of Mismatch Negativity in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘In recent decades, event-related potentials have been used for the clinical electrophysiological assessment of patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs). In this paper, an oddball paradigm with two types of frequencydeviant stimulus(standard stimuli were pure tones of 1000 Hz; small deviant stimuli were pure tones of 1050 Hz; large deviant stimuli were pure tones of 1200 Hz) was applied to elicit mismatch negativity(MMN) in 30 patients with DOCs diagnosed using the JFK Coma Recovery ScaleRevised(CRS-R). The results showed that the peak amplitudes of MMN elicited by both large and small deviant stimuli were significantly different from baseline.In terms of the spatial properties of MMN, a significant interaction effect between conditions(small and large deviant stimuli) and electrode nodes was centered at the frontocentral area. Furthermore, correlation coefficients were calculated between MMN amplitudes and CRS-R scores for each electrode among all participants to generate topographic maps. Meanwhile, a significant negative correlation between the MMN amplitudes elicited by large deviant stimuli and the CRS-R scores was also found at the frontocentral area. | 5 | Ion flux dropout observed near dipolarization front显示文摘An ion flux dropout near the dipolarization front(DF) at around XGSM=-11 REin the Earth's plasma sheet was observed by Time History of Events and Macroscale Interaction during substorms(THEMIS) on March31, 2009. The ion differential energy fluxes at energies from 450 e V to 150 ke V measured by the ESA and SST instruments from THC began to decrease about 2 s before the detection of the DF and reached a local minimum 6 s later. Then, the ion fluxes gradually increased to form a dropout around the DF. The spatial extent of the dropout was about 4,000 km. For energies above 20 ke V, the ion fluxes after the dropout are greater than those before it,contrary to the fluxes at energies below 20 ke V. The associated ion density variation indicates that the ion flux dropout coincides with the ion density dropout. Taking advantage of multipoint observations, THD, THC, and THE detected the same DF consecutively. Only THC detected an obvious ion flux dropout; THD observed an indistinct one about 2 s before THC; no high-energy(E [ 30 ke V) ion flux dropout was observed by THE. | 7 | Community Characteristics and Species Diversity of Wetland Plants in the Yangguan Nature Reserve of Dunhuang显示文摘As a typical inland wetland, Yangguan nature reserve wetland in Dunhuang is one of the important stops of migratory route for birds, which is vulnerable and particular. Study on the community characteristics and species diversity of wetland has great signifi cance for biodiversity protection. Based on the fi eld investigation, the fl oristic composition, geographical elements and species diversity of wetland plants were studied in Yangguan reserve of Dunhuang. The results showed that 26 families, 56 genera and 74 species were recorded in the study area. The largest families were the Gramineae and Chenopodiaceae, accounting for 29.73% of the total. Herbs were the most abundant life-form, accounting for 77.03% of the total. The fl oral geographical elements of the plants were mainly composed of temperate zone distribution type. By using two way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN), the vegetation in 36 sampling plots could be classifi ed into 8 communities. The species diversity indexes of communities were relatively low, but had large differences among each other. According to the importance value, the Margalef richness index(Rm) ranged from 0 to 4.200. Simpson diversity index(D) was between 0 and 0.512; Shannon diversity index(H) ranged from 0 to 1.400, and Pielou evenness index(J) was within the range of 0.538 to 1.000. | 9 | An Early Cretaceous gold mineralization event in the Triassic West Qinling orogen revealed from U-Pb titanite dating of the Ma'anqiao gold deposit显示文摘The West Qinling orogen in central China,formed from continental collision between the North China and Yangtze cratons in the Late Triassic,hosts numerous gold deposits with a total Au endowment of about 2000 t.Most deposits were emplaced at ca.250-195 Ma and are genetically associated with the Triassic orogenesis.Here in situ U-Pb titanite dating with laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry indicates the Ma’anqiao gold deposit in the northern portion of this orogen has a distinctive age and under a contrasting tectonic regime.This structurally controlled gold deposit is hosted in Late Ordovician to Early Silurian sub-greenschist facies metasedimentary rocks.The gold mineralization is hosted in quartz-pyritepyrrhotite veins and pyrite-pyrrhotite disseminations in hydrothermally altered rocks,which are crosscut by K-feldspar-calcitechlorite±pyrite veins.Titanite,present both in the disseminated sulfide ores and later veins,was used for in situ U-Pb dating.Titanite from three disseminated sulfide ore samples with Th and U averaging 27.46 and 39.31 ppm(1 ppm=1μg g^(-1)),respectively,yielded lower-intercept ages of 121.1±3.1 to 120.7±3.5 Ma(2σ)in the Tera-Wasserburg diagram.Titanite from three later vein samples with much lower Th and U concentrations averaging 2.74 and 16.21 ppm,respectively,yielded overlapping ages of 120.8±3.2 to 120.3±5.8 Ma(2σ).These new titanite U-Pb ages tightly constrain the formation of the Ma’anqiao gold deposit at ca.121-120 Ma and,when combined with independent geological data,indicate it is not related to the Triassic Qinling orogeny.Rather,its formation is attributed to lithospheric thinning and destruction of the North China craton during the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous which has generated numerous gold deposits along the southern margin of this craton.This catastrophic event caused extensive magmatism in large areas of the North Qinling terrane and northern edge of the West Qinling orogen immediately to the south of the North China craton.The heat flux and elevated geothermal gradients associated with this magmatism could have induced prograde metamorphism of the Paleozoic sedimentary infrastructure in and beneath these areas with the derived fluids ascending along pre-existing crustal-scale regional structures to form the Ma’anqiao gold deposit.We suggest that areas in the North Qinling terrane that have been affected by the Late Mesozoic magmatism are potential targets for future exploration of the decratonization-related gold deposits.Additionally,this study highlights the use of titanite U-Pb dating as a robust geochronometer for metasedimentary rock-hosted gold deposits in Phanerozoic orogens,which has previously not been utilized. | Chongguo HE Jianwei LI Daniel J.KONTAK Xiaoye JIN Yafei WU Hao HU Bo ZU Xueling YU Shaorui ZHAO Shiguang DU Yunlong ZHU Huan TAO | 2023 | Science China Earth Sciences2023,66,2: | 0 |
| 10 | Influence of inherent iron and oxygen concentrations on selenite sorption process using bentonite显示文摘The oxygen concentration and inherent Fe in bentonite have a significant influence on the Se(IV) sorption process.In this study,the sorption of selenite on natural bentonite was investigated using a batch experiment method,and the distribution coefficient(K_d)values were obtained in the pH range from 2.0 to 10.0 under oxic/anoxic conditions.The K_d values always reached a maximum value at a pH of 4 under oxic conditions and at a pH of 8 under anoxic conditions;meanwhile,the K_d value under anoxic conditions was larger than the value under oxic conditions,especially in regard to the maximum K_d values.The oxygen conditions have a significant influence on the ratio of redox-sensitive Fe^(2+)/Fe^(3+),which was closely related to the difference in the K_d values under both oxic/anoxic conditions.Ferric selenite and green rust could be responsible for the maximum K_d values under oxic/anoxic conditions.In the leaching experiments,we found that the Fe^(2+) in bentonite could replace Mg^(2+) and Al^(3+) in the octahedral sheet.Spectroscopy methods,such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy(XAS) were used to characterize the surface properties of the samples after reaction.Overall,this study shows that the addition of Fe^(2+)-containing materials into backfill/buffer materials under anoxic condition could enhance the sorption of ^(79)Se(IV). | Jiangang He Xueling Qiao Yanlin Shi Yao Li Xiaoyu Yang Wanqiang Zhou Chunli Liu | 2017 | Science China Chemistry2017,60,9: | 0 |
