| 2 | A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. | 3 | Probabilistic stability analysis of Bazimen landslide with monitored rainfall data and water level fluctuations in Three Gorges Reservoir, China显示文摘Landslide is a common geological hazard in reservoir areas and may cause great damage to local residents’life and property.It is widely accepted that rainfall and periodic variation of water level are the two main factors triggering reservoir landslides.In this study,the Bazimen landslide located in the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR)was back-analyzed as a case study.Based on the statistical features of the last 3-year monitored data and field instrumentations,the landslide susceptibility in an annual cycle and four representative periods was investigated via the deterministic and probabilistic analysis,respectively.The results indicate that the fluctuation of the reservoir water level plays a pivotal role in inducing slope failures,for the minimum stability coefficient occurs at the rapid decline period of water level.The probabilistic analysis results reveal that the initial sliding surface is the most important area influencing the occurrence of landslide,compared with other parts in the landslide.The seepage calculations from probabilistic analysis imply that rainfall is a relatively inferior factor affecting slope stability.This study aims to provide preliminary guidance on risk management and early warning in the TGR area. | Wengang ZHANG Libin TANG Hongrui LI Lin WANG Longfei CHENG Tingqiang ZHOU Xiang CHEN | 2020 | Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2020，14，5： | 1 |
| 4 | Thermodynamic assessment of the Al–Dy, Dy–Zr and Al–Dy–Zr systems显示文摘Like Al3Sc,the Al30Dy7Zr3compound has an L12structure,implying that it could probably be used to improve the strength of aluminum alloys at elevated temperatures.Thus,it is extremely important to understand the phase relations of the Al–Dy–Zr system in the Al-rich corner.Firstly,the phase diagram of the Al–Dy binary system was re-assessed with the C15_Laves phase treated as a stoichiometric compound.Then,using the special quasirandom structure containing 16 atoms(SQS_16)to simulate Dy1-xZrx(x=0.25,0.5,and 0.75)hcp_A3 solid solutions,their enthalpies of mixing at 0 K were calculated by the first-principles method.Based on these results and the evaluated phase diagram in literature,the Dy–Zr binary system was optimized thermodynamically.Integrating the thermodynamic descriptions of the three constituent binary systems,the phase diagram of the Al–Dy–Zr ternary system in the Al-rich corner was optimized finally by coupling the first-principles calculation with the CALculation of PHAse Diagram method.A good agreementhas been reached between the calculated phase relations and the experimental results,which indicates that the current thermodynamic description is reasonable. | Hong Bo Libin Liu Xiang Xiong Zhanpeng Jin | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014，59，15： | 1 |
| 5 | Gene2DGE: A Perl Package for Gene Model Renewal with Digital Gene Expression Data显示文摘For transcriptome analysis, it is critical to precisely define all the transcripts across the whole genome. More and more digital gene expression (DGE) scannings have indicated the presence of huge amount of novel transcripts in addition to the known gene models. However, almost all these studies still depend crucially on existing annotation. Here, we present Gene2DGE, a Perl software package for gene model renewal with DGE data. We applied Gene2DGE to the mouse blastomere transcriptome, and defined 98,532 read-enriched regions (RERs) by read clustering supported by more than four reads for each base pair. Taking advantage of this ab initio method, we refined 2,104 exonic regions (4% of a total of 48,501 annotated transcribed regions) with remarkable extension into un-annotated regions (>50 bp). For 5% of uniquely mapped reads falling within intron regions, we identified 13,291 additional possible exons. As a result, we renewed 4,788 gene models, which account for 39% of a total of 12,277 transcribed genes. Furthermore, we identified 12,613 intergenic RERs, suggesting the possible presence of novel genes outside the existing gene models. In this study, therefore, we have developed a suitable tool for re-newal of known gene models by ab initio prediction in transcriptome dissection. | 7 | Chinese herbal medicine combined with cognitive–behavioural therapy for avoidant paruresis:a controlled trial显示文摘Background Avoidant paruresis is a common clinical condition in urology and psychosomatic medicine.However,it has limited treatment options that are safe and effective with few side effects.Aims Our study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of the Chinese herbal Yangxin Tongquan decoction combined with cognitive-behavioural therapy(CBT)for avoidant paruresis.Methods Sixty-eight patients with avoidant paruresis were divided into a treatment group(33 patients)and a control group(35 patients).The control group was assigned 10 weeks of CBT and systematic desensitisation.In addition to CBT and systematic desensitisation,the treatment group was given the Chinese herbal Yangxin Tongquan decoction during the 10-week study.The Shy Bladder Syndrome Scale(SBS)and the Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)were administered before and after treatment to measure any change.Results The overall efficacy in the treatment group(n=30)was 80.0%vs 62.5%in the control group(n=33).Comparing pretreatment and post-treatment measures,both groups showed improvement in SBS scores and SAS scores(treatment group:t_((SBS))=8.397,p_((SBS))<0.001,t_((SAS))=8.216,p_((SAS))<0.001;control group:t_((SBS))=6.802,p_((SBS))<0.001,t_((SAS))=5.171,p_((SAS))<0.001).Moreover,both groups’SBS and SAS scores changed significantly over time(SBS scores:F_(time)=118.299,p<0.001;SAS scores:F_(time)=92.114,p<0.001).However,the treatment group performed better than the control group(SBS scores:F_(time*group)=5.709,p=0.020;SAS scores:F_(time*group)=7.235,p=0.009).Conclusions The Chinese herbal Yangxin Tongquan decoction combined with cognitive-behavioural psychotherapy positively affects the treatment of avoidant paruresis without significant adverse effects. | Shijie Liang Ying Zhou Chao Yu Xiang Gao Fangbin Ji Qianyuan Fang Zhihang Zhang Libin Yang Youkang Zhao Yuhui Zhao Renwu Yin Kaimin Chen Zheng Lu | 2023 | General Psychiatry2023，36，5： | 0 |
