| 2 | Experimental and numerical study on a micro jet cooling solution for high power LEDs显示文摘An active cooling solution based on close-looped micro impinging jet is proposed for high power light emitting diodes (LEDs). In this system, a micro pump is utilized to enable the fluid circulation, impinging jet is used for heat exchange between LED chips and the present system. To check the feasibility of the present cooling system, the preliminary experiments are conducted without the intention of parameter opti-mization on micro jet device and other system components. The experiment results demonstrate that the present cooling system can achieve good cooling effect. For a 16.4 W input power, the surface temperature of 2 by 2 LED array is just 44.2℃ after 10 min operation, much lower than 112.2℃, which is measured without any active cool-ing techniques at the same input power. Experimental results also show that increase in the flow rate of micro pump will greatly enhance the heat transfer efficiency, how-ever, it will increase power consumption. Therefore, it should have a trade-off be-tween the flow rate and the power consumption. To find a suitable numerical model for next step parameter optimization, numerical simulation on the above experiment system is also conducted in this paper. The comparison between numerical and ex-periment results is presented. For two by two chip array, when the input power is 4 W, the surface average temperature achieved by a steady numerical simulation is 34℃, which is close to the value of 32.8℃ obtained by surface experiment test. | 3 | TNF-α suppresses sweat gland differentiation of MSCs by reducing FTO-mediated m^6 A-demethylation of Nanog mRNA显示文摘An effect of inhibition of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)on differentiation of mesenchymal stromal cells(MSCs)has been demonstrated,but the exact mechanisms that govern MSCs differentiation remain to be further elucidated.Here,we show that TNF-αinhibits the differentiation of MSCs to sweat glands in a specific sweat gland-inducing environment,accompanied with reduced expression of Nanog,a core pluripotency factor.We elucidated that fat mass and obesity-associated protein(FTO)-mediated m^6 A demethylation is involved in the regulation of MSCs differentiation potential.Exposure of MSCs to TNF-αreduced expression of FTO,which demethylated Nanog m RNA.Reduced expression of FTO increased Nanog m RNA methylation,decreased Nanog m RNA and protein expression,and significantly inhibited MSCs capacity for differentiation to sweat gland cells.Our finding is the first to elucidate the functional importance of m^6 A modification in MSCs,providing new insights that the microenvironment can regulate the multipotency of MSCs at the post-transcriptional level.Moreover,to maintain differentiation capacity of MSCs by regulating m^6 A modification suggested a novel potential therapeutic target for stem cellmediated regenerative medicine. | Yihui Wang Rui Wang Bin Yao Tian Hu Zhao Li Yufan Liu Xiaoli Cui Liuhanghang Cheng Wei Song Sha Huang Xiaobing Fu | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,1: | 9 |

| 5 | Adapting rice anther culture to gene transformation and RNA interference显示文摘Anther culture offers a rapid method of generating homozygous lines for breeding pro- gram and genetic analysis.To produce homozygous transgenic lines of rice(Oryza sativa L.)in one step,we developed an efficient protocol of anther-callus-based transformation mediated by Agro- bacterium after optimizing several factors influencing efficient transformation,including callus induc- tion and Agrobacterium density for co-cultivation.Using this protocol,we obtained 145 independent green transformants from five cultivars of japonica rice by transformation with a binary vector pCXK1301 bearing the rice gene,Xa21 for resistance to bacterial blight,of which 140 were further confirmed by PCR and Southern hybridization analysis,including haploids(32.1%),diploids(62.1%) and mixoploids(7.5%).Fifteen diploids were found to be doubled haploids,which accounted for 10.7%of the total positive lines.Finally,by including 28 from colchicine induced or spontaneous dip- loidization of haploids later after transformation,a total of 43 doubled haploids(30.7%)of Xa21 transgenic lines were obtained.We also generated two RNAi transgenic haploids of the rice Os- MADS2 gene,a putative redundant gene of OsMADS4 based on their sequence similarity,to inves- tigate its possible roles in rice flower development by this method.Flowers from the two OsMADS2 RNAi transgenic haploids displayed obvious homeotic alternations,in which lodicules were trans- formed into palea/lemma-like tissues,whereas identities of other floral organs were maintained.The phenotypic alternations were proved to result from specific transcriptional suppression of OsMADS2 gene by the introduced RNAi transgene.The results confirmed that OsMADS2 is involved in lodicule development of rice flower and functionally redundant with OsMADS4 gene.Our results demonstrated that rice anther culture could be adapted to gene transformation and RNAi analysis in rice. | CHEN Caiyan 1,2* ,XIAO Han 1,2* ,ZHANG Wenli 1,2 ,WANG Aiju 1,2 ,XIA Zhihui 1 ,LI Xiaobing 1 , ZHAI Wenxue 1 ,CHENG Zhukuan 1 &ZHU Lihuang 1 1.State Key Laboratory of Plant Genomics and National Center for Plant Gene Research,Institute of Genetics and Develop- mental Biology,Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100101,China 2.Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing 100039,China | 2006 | Science China(Life Sciences)2006,49,5: | 5 |
| 6 | Redirecting differentiation of mammary progenitor cells by 3D bioprinted sweat gland microenvironment显示文摘Background:Mammary progenitor cells(MPCs)maintain their reproductive potency through life,and their specific microenvironments exert a deterministic control over these cells.MPCs provides one kind of ideal tools for studying engineered microenvironmental influence because of its accessibility and continually undergoes postnatal developmental changes.The aim of our study is to explore the critical role of the engineered sweat gland(SG)microenvironment in reprogramming MPCs into functional SG cells.Methods:We have utilized a three-dimensional(3D)SG microenvironment composed of gelatin-alginate hydrogels and components from mouse SG extracellular matrix(SG-ECM)proteins to reroute the differentiation of MPCs to study the functions of this microenvironment.MPCs were encapsulated into the artificial SG microenvironment and were printed into a 3D cell-laden construct.The expression of specific markers at the protein and gene levels was detected after cultured 14 days.Results:Compared with the control group,immunofluorescence and gene expression assay demonstrated that MPCs encapsulated in the bioprinted 3D-SG microenvironment could significantly express the functional marker of mouse SG,sodium/potassium channel protein ATP1a1,and tend to express the specific marker of luminal epithelial cells,keratin-8.When the Shh pathway is inhibited,the expression of SG-associated proteins in MPCs under the same induction environment is significantly reduced.Conclusions:Our evidence proved the ability of differentiated mouse MPCs to regenerate SG cells by engineered SG microenvironment in vitro and Shh pathway was found to be correlated with the changes in the differentiation.These results provide insights into regeneration of damaged SG by MPCs and the role of the engineered microenvironment in reprogramming cell fate. | Rui Wang Yihui Wang Bin Yao Tian Hu Zhao Li Yufan Liu Xiaoli Cui Liuhanghang Cheng Wei Song Sha Huang Xiaobing Fu | 2019 | Burns & Trauma2019,7,1: | 5 |

| 8 | Iatrogenic wounds:a common but often overlooked problem显示文摘Iatrogenic wounds are a common but often overlooked concept.They can lead to increases in hospital stays,therapy costs,repeat surgeries,and implant removal.If not handled properly,these wounds have a very poor prognosis and will cause serious physical and psychological harm to patients,which may result in medicolegal disputes.In recent years,the incidence of iatrogenic wounds has increased because of(1)an increase in the population of older people owing to increased life expectancy,(2)the continued expansion of surgical indications,(3)an increase in difficult surgeries,and(4)the constant emergence and application of new implantable biomaterials and other therapies.Thus,there is a pressing clinical need to improve the therapy of iatrogenic wounds.However,the difficulty in treating these wounds is considerable due to the emergence of drug-resistant bacteria,the high number of patients with metabolic diseases,and complex complications in patients.In particular,iatrogenic wounds caused by surgical site infections due to implantable biomaterials could lead to material leakage and conflicts regarding whether to retain or remove the implants.This review provides a definition of iatrogenic wounds,describes their characteristics,classifies them,and provides information about the importance of analyzing iatrogenic wounds.We hope that this review will provide useful information for the diagnosis and treatment of iatrogenic wounds and help to reduce their incidence in the future. | Biao Cheng Ju Tian Yan Peng Xiaobing Fu | 2019 | Burns & Trauma2019,7,1: | 2 |

| 11 | A prediction method for the performance of a low-recoil gun with front nozzle显示文摘One of the greatest challenges in the design of a gun is to balance muzzle velocity and recoil,especially for guns on aircrafts and deployable vehicles.To resolve the conflict between gun power and recoil force,a concept of rarefaction wave gun(RAVEN)was proposed to significantly reduce the weapon recoil and the heat in barrel,while minimally reducing the muzzle velocity.The main principle of RAVEN is that the rarefaction wave will not reach the projectile base until the muzzle by delaying the venting time of an expansion nozzle at the breech.Developed on the RAVEN principle,the purpose of this paper is to provide an engineering method for predicting the performance of a low-recoil gun with front nozzle.First,a two-dimensional two-phase flow model of interior ballistic during the RAVEN firing cycle was established.Numerical simulation results were compared with the published data to validate the reliability and accuracy.Next,the effects of the vent opening times and locations were investigated to determine the influence rules on the performance of the RAVEN with front nozzle.Then according to the results above,simple nonlinear fitting formulas were provided to explain how the muzzle velocity and the recoil force change with the vent opening time and location.Finally,a better vent venting opening time corresponding to the vent location was proposed.The findings should make an important contribution to the field of engineering applications of the RAVEN. | Cheng Cheng Chong Wang Xiaobing Zhang | 2019 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2019,15,5: | 2 |

| 20 | Dingxin recipe alleviates atherosclerosis injury in Apo E-knockout mice via downregulation of visfatin expression and inhibition of the visfatin-induced inflammatory response显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To further elucidate the mechanism underlying the anti-atherosclerotic effect of Dingxin recipe(DXR).METHODS:Fifty 6-week-old male Apo E^-/-mice were randomly divided into the following groups:model,simvastatin(5 mg·kg^-1·d^-1),DXR low-dose(9.30 g·kg^-1·d^-1),DXR middle-dose(18.59 g·kg^-1·d^-1)and DXR high-dose(37.18 g·kg^-1·d^-1)(n=10).Ten male C57BL/6J mice were used as the control group.All Apo E^-/-mice were fed a high-fat diet(HFD)and the control mice received a common diet.After HFD for 12 weeks,the mice were treated with DXR or simvastatin for another 12 weeks.The expression of inflammatory cytokines and visfatin was determined in serum and atherosclerotic lesions by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Visfatin expression was also assessed in aortic atherosclerotic plaques.Cultured vessel endothelial cells(VECs)were pretreated with DXR sera prior to visfatin.The effects of DXR were analyzed to elucidate its protective mechanism against visfatin-induced inflammation in VECs.RESULTS:DXR regulated blood lipids and reduced tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),intercellular adhesion molecules-1(ICAM-1),vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1)and visfatin expression in Apo E^-/-mice,particularly at the higher doses.The areas of atherosclerotic lesions in the DXR groups were significantly smaller than those in the model group.DXR alleviated visfatin-induced VEC injury via downregulation of TNF-α,IL-6,ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 through mitogen-activated protein kinase pathways.CONCLUSION:DXR alleviated atherosclerosis injury via downregulation of visfatin expression and inhibition of the visfatin-induced inflammatory response in VECs. | Cui Xiaobing Huang Zhiyong Lou Linjie Cheng Saibo Zhang Yu Zhang Yaxin Jia Yuhua Zhou Fenghua | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,6: | 1 |
