1Comparative efficacy of various exercise interventions on cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment or dementia:A systematic review and network meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Exercise is a promising nonpharmacological therapy for cognitive dysfunction,but it is unclear which type of exercise is most effective.The objective of this study was to compare and rank the effectiveness of various exercise interventions on cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI)or dementia and to examine the effects of exercise on the symptoms relevant to cognitive impairment.Methods:We searched PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,SPORTDiscus,and PsycInfo through September 2019 and included randomized controlled trials that examined the effectiveness of exercise interventions in patients with MCI or dementia.Primary outcomes included global cognition,executive cognition,and memory cognition.Secondary outcomes included activities of daily living,neuropsychiatric symptoms,and quality of life.Pairwise analyses and network meta-analyses were performed using a random effects model.Results:A total of 73 articles from 71 trials with 5606 participants were included.All types of exercise were effective in increasing or maintaining global cognition,and resistance exercise had the highest probability of being the most effective intervention in slowing the decrease in global cognition(standard mean difference(SMD)=1.05,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.56-1.54),executive function(SMD=0.85,95%CI:0.21-1.49),and memory function(SMD=0.32,95%CI:0.01-0.63)in patients with cognitive dysfunction.Subgroup analyses for patients with MCI revealed different effects,and multicomponent exercise was most likely to be the optimal exercise therapy for preventing the decline of global cognition(SMD=0.99,95%CI:0.44-1.54)and executive function(SMD=0.72,95%CI:0.06-1.38).However,only resistance exercise showed significant effects on memory function for patients with MCI(SMD=0.35,95%CI:0.01-0.69).Exercise interventions also showed various effects on the secondary outcomes.Conclusion:Resistance exercise has the highest probability of being the optimal exercise type for slowing cognitive declin e in patients withcognitive dysfunction,especially in patients with dementia.Multicomponent exercise tends to be most effective in protecting global cognition and executive function in patients with MCI.Xiuxiu Huang Xiaoyan Zhao Bei Li Ying Cai Shifang Zhang Qiaoqin Wan Fang Yu 2022Journal of Sport and Health Science2022,11,2:19
2Echinacoside Protects Against MPP+-Induced Neuronal Apoptosis via ROS/ATF3/CHOP Pathway Regulation显示文摘Echinacoside(ECH) is protective in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease(PD) induced by 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium ion(MPP^+). To investigate the mechanisms involved, SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells were treated with MPP^+or a combination of MPP^+and ECH,and the expression of ATF3(activating transcription factor3), CHOP(C/EBP-homologous protein), SCNA(synuclein alpha), and GDNF(glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor) was assessed. The results showed that ECH significantly improved cell survival by inhibiting the generation of MPP^+-induced reactive oxygen species(ROS). In addition, ECH suppressed the ROS and MPP^+-induced expression of apoptotic genes(ATF3, CHOP, and SCNA). ECH markedly decreased the MPP^+-induced caspase-3 activity in a dose-dependent manner. ATF3-knockdown also decreased the CHOP and cleaved caspase-3 levels and inhibited the apoptosis induced by MPP^+.Interestingly, ECH partially restored the GDNF expression that was down-regulated by MPP^+. ECH also improved dopaminergic neuron survival during MPP^+treatment and protected these neurons against the apoptosis induced by MPTP. 3Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. 4Genome-wide identification of OSCA gene family and their potential function in the regulation of dehydration and salt stress in Gossypium hirsutum显示文摘Background:Cotton(Gossypium hirsutum) provides the largest natural fiber for the textile manufacturing industries,but its production is on the decline due to the effects of salinity.Soil salt-alkalization leads to damage in cotton growth and a decrease in yields.Hyperosmolality-gated calcium-permeable channels(OSCA) have been found to be involved in the detection of extracellular changes which trigger an increase in cytosolic free calcium concentration.Hyperosmolality-induced calcium ion increases have been widely speculated to be playing a role in osmosensing in plants.However,the molecular nature of the corresponding calcium ion channels remains unclearly.In this research work,we describe the OSCA genes and their putative function in osmosensing in plants by carrying out genomewide identification,characterization and functional analysis of the significantly up-regulated OSCA gene,GhOSCA1.1 through reverse genetics.Result:A total of 35,21 and 22 OSCA genes were identified in G.hirsutum,G.arboreum,and G.raimondii genomes,respectively,and were classified into four different clades according to their gene structure and phylogenetic relationship.Gene and protein structure analysis indicated that 35 GhOSCA genes contained a conserved RSN17 TM(PF02714) domain.Moreover,the cis-regulatory element analysis indicated that the OSCA genes were involved in response to abiotic stress.Furthermore,the knockdown of one of the highly up-regulated genes,GhOSCA1.1 showed that the virus-induced gene silenced(VIGS) plants were highly sensitive to dehydration and salinity stresses compared with the none VIGS plants as evident with higher concentration levels of oxidant enzymes compared with the antioxidant enzymes on the leaves of the stressed plants.Conclusion:This study provides the first systematic analysis of the OSCA gene family and will be important for understanding the putative functions of the proteins encoded by the OSCA genes in cotton.These results provide a new insight of defense responses in general and lay the foundation for further investigation of the molecular role played by the OSCA genes,thereby providing suitable approaches to improve crop performance under salinity and drought stress conditions.YANG Xiu XU Yanchao YANG Fangfang MAGWANGA Richard Odongo CAI Xiaoyan WANG Xingxing WANG Yuhong HOU Yuqing WANG Kunbo LIU Fang ZHOU Zhongli 2019Journal of Cotton Research2019,2,2:7
5IL-17 sustains the plasma cell response via p38-mediated Bcl-xL RNA stability in lupus pathogenesis显示文摘Recent studies have demonstrated a central role for plasma cells in the development of autoimmune diseases,such as systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Currently,both the phenotypic features and functional regulation of autoreactive plasma cells during SLE pathogenesis remain largely unclear.In this study,we first found that a major subset of IL-17 receptor-expressing plasma cells potently produced anti-dsDNA IgG upon IL-17A(IL-17)stimulation in SLE patients and lupus mice.Using a humanized lupus mouse model,we showed that the transfer of Th17 cell-depleted PBMCs from lupus patients resulted in a significantly reduced plasma cell response and attenuated renal damage in recipient mice compared to the transfer of total SLE PBMCs.Moreover,long-term BrdU incorporation in lupus mice detected highly enriched long-lived BrdU+subsets among IL-17 receptor-expressing plasma cells.Lupus mice deficient in IL-17 or IL-17 receptor C(IL-17RC)exhibited a diminished plasma cell response and reduced autoantibody production with attenuated renal damage,while the adoptive transfer of Th17 cells triggered the plasma cell response and renal damage in IL-17-deficient lupus mice.In reconstituted chimeric mice,IL-17RC deficiency resulted in severely impaired plasma cell generation but showed no obvious effect on germinal center B cells.Further mechanistic studies revealed that IL-17 significantly promoted plasma cell survival via p38-mediated Bcl-xL transcript stabilization.Together,our findings identified a novel function of IL-17 in enhancing plasma cell survival for autoantibody production in lupus pathogenesis,which may provide new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of SLE.Kongyang Ma Wenhan Du Fan Xiao Man Han Enyu Huang Na Peng Yuan Tang Chong Deng Lixiong Liu Yulan Chen Jingjing Li Shiwen Yuan Qin Huang Xiaoping Hong Dajun Hu Xiaoyan Cai Quan Jiang Dongzhou Liu Liwei Lu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,7:6

7Molecular Characteristics and Phylogenetic Analysis of N Gene of Human Derived Rabies Virus显示文摘Objective To investigate the relationship between the molecular characteristics and phylogenetic evolution of rabies N gene.Methods Saliva samples were collected from rabies cases,and RT-PCR was used to amplify the N gene of rabies virus with the specific primers.The amplifying product of RT-PCR was cloned to pUCm-T vector and transformed into E.coli XL1-Blue and then the blue-white selection,PCR screening and gene sequencing were carried out to identify the positive clones.Finally,ExPASy and other bioinformatics softwares were used to analyze and predict the structure and biological characteristics of the N genome.Results The amplification product of RT-PCR was 1 353 bp,the recombinant plasmid pUCm-T/N was constructed,the whole length of the N gene open reading frame was composed of 1 353 nucleotide residues to code 450 amino acids (20 kinds),the accession number submitted to the Genbank was HM756692,its sequence homology of nucleotides and amino acids compared with the vaccine strain CTN-1-V was 90% and 99% respectively.The evolutionary analysis showed that the isolated strain belonged to genotype I with certain geographic regionality.Conclusion The characteristics investigation and bioinformatics analysis of Hunan0806 N gene will provide fundament data to reveal the significance of the N gene characteristics for rabies epidemiology and its prevention & control.CAI Liang TAO XiaoYan LIU YunZhi ZHANG Hong GAO LiDong HU ShiXiong LIU FuQiang LI Hao SHEN XinXin LIU JiaHui WANG ShiQing TANG Qing 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,4:4

10Concentration and distribution of 17 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in seawater from the Japan Sea northward to the Arctic Ocean显示文摘Seventeen classic organochlorine pesticides in surface seawater were studied in terms of their composition pattern as well as their distribution pattern in the areas covering the Japan Sea,Okhotsk Sea,Bering Sea,Chukchi Sea and Arctic Ocean.Their concentrations varied,but roughly two levels were seen with one ranging between 0.1 and 1 ng L-1 for most HCH isomers and the other lower than 0.1 ng L-1 for other chemicals.Of the 17 target compounds,HCHs were dominant with a total concentration percentage generally more than 50%,and a relatively high concentration percentage of heptachlor and aldrine was also observed at scattered stations.The historical long-term trend of several target chemicals in the five sea zones considered was discussed in comparison with previous reports.Inter-sea zone comparison was carried out for individual chemicals by comparing the concentration variation in all five sea zones.A higher variation in concentration was generally found in the northern sea zones,namely the Bering Sea,Chukchi Sea and Arctic Ocean,for most target compounds.The sum concentration of the 17 target chemicals displayed a general trend of increasing northward from the Japan Sea to the Okhotsk Sea to the Bering Sea to the Arctic Ocean.Different latitudinal trends were found forγ-HCH andγ-HCH,and the reason of this difference was discussed by considering their divergence of thermodynamic properties,which could contribute to a slightly different fractionation effect during their northward transport driven by atmospheric long range transport.The source of the HCHs was identified by analyzing theγ-HCH/γ-HCH ratio,which was less than 4 without exception,indicating a component characteristic featuring a mixture of technical HCHs and lindane.In addition,the vertical distribution ofγ-HCH,γ-HCH and their ratio at station B80 was discussed.Different patterns were found in the upper 300 m while in layers from 300 m downward to 3500 m the patterns were fairly comparable.The vertical profiles were used to correlate the water mass distribution,based on which four layers were tentatively classified at station B80.CAI MingGang 1,2,QIU CanRong 1,SHEN Yuan 1,CAI MingHong 3,HUANG ShuiYing 1,QIAN BiHua 1,SUN JiongHui 1 & LIU XiaoYan 1 1Department of Oceanography,College of Oceanography and Environmental Science,Xiamen University,Xiamen 361005,China 2State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science,Xiamen University,Xiamen 361005,China 3State Oceanic Administration Key Laboratory for Polar Science,Polar Research Institute of China,Shanghai 200136,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,5:3
11Low power and high uniformity of HfO_x-based RRAM via tip-enhanced electric fields显示文摘In this paper, the HfO_x-based resistive random access memory(RRAM) devices with sub-100 nm pyramid-type electrodes were fabricated. With the help of tip-enhanced electric field around the pyramid-type electrodes, it was experimentally demonstrated that the novel devices have better cycle-to-cycle variation control, lower forming/set voltage(1.97/0.7V) and faster switching speed(≤30 ns under 0.9V pulse) as well as better endurance reliability than conventional flat electrode resistive memory devices. In addition,the novel RRAM is experimentally demonstrated with independence of electrode number for the first time to present great potential in scaling down. 13Identification of QTLs and candidate genes for physiological traits associated with drought tolerance in cotton显示文摘Background:Cotton is mainly grown for its natural fiber and edible oil.The fiber obtained from cotton is the indispensable raw material for the textile industries.The ever changing climatic condition,threatens cotton production due to a lack of sufficient water for its cultivation.Effects of drought stress are estimated to affect more than 50%of the cotton growing regions.To elucidate the drought tolerance phenomenon in cotton,a backcross population was developed from G.tomentosum,a drought tolerant donor parent and G.hirsutum which is highly susceptible to drought stress.Results:A genetic map of 10888 SNP markers was developed from 200 BC_2F_2 populations.The map spanned 4191.3 centi-Morgan(c M),with an average distance of 0.1047 c M,covering 51%and 49%of At and Dt sub genomes,respectively.Thirty stable Quantitative trait loci(QTLs)were detected,in which more than a half were detected in the At subgenome.Eighty-nine candidate genes were mined within the QTL regions for three traits:cell membrane stability(CMS),saturated leaf weight(SLW)and chlorophyll content.The genes had varied physiochemical properties.A majority of the genes were interrupted by introns,and only 15 genes were intronless,accounting for 17%of the mined genes.The genes were found to be involved molecular function(MF),cellular component(CC)and biological process(BP),which are the main gene ontological(GO)functions.A number of mi RNAs were detected,such as mi R164,which is associated with NAC and MYB genes,with a profound role in enhancing drought tolerance in plants.Through RT-q PCR analysis,5 genes were found to be the key genes involved in enhancing drought tolerance in cotton.Wild cotton harbors a number of favorable alleles,which can be exploited to aid in improving the narrow genetic base of the elite cotton cultivars.The detection of 30 stable QTLs and 89 candidate genes found to be contributed by the donor parent,G.tomentosum,showed the significant genes harbored by the wild progenitors which can be exploited in developing more robust cotton genotypes with diverse tolerance levels to various environmental stresses.Conclusion:This was the first study involving genome wide association mapping for drought tolerance traits in semi wild cotton genotypes.It offers an opportunity for future exploration of these genes in developing highly tolerant cotton cultivars to boost cotton production.MAGWANGA Richard Odongo LU Pu KIRUNGU Joy Nyangasi CAI Xiaoyan ZHOU Zhongli AGONG Stephen Gaya WANG Kunbo LIU Fang 2020Journal of Cotton Research2020,3,1:2

18Effects of Bi-dopant and co-catalysts upon hole surface trapping on La_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7) nanosheet photocatalysts in overall solar water splitting显示文摘Pristine and Bi-doped lanthanum titanium oxide(La_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7))nanosheets have been synthesized as photocatalysts for overall solar water splitting.The surface hole trap is a critical factor that limits the photocatalytic activity of pristine La_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7)-Deposition of cobalt phosphate(Co-Pi)and platinum(Pt)nanoparticles on La_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7) cannot remove the surface traps although they are essential for enabling the oxygen and hydrogen evolution reactions.It is interesting that doping bismuth(Bi)into La_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7) nanosheets has eliminated the surface traps due to surface enrichment of Bi.The Co-Pi/Bi-La_(2)Ti_(2)O_(7)/Pt nanosheets exhibit increasing photocatalytic activity toward overall water splitting with increasing the Bi-dopant level up to 5 at.%.Further increasing the Bi-dopant level leads to the formation of localized states above the valence band,leading to the lifetime reduction of photogenerated charge-carriers,and jeopardizing the photocatalytic activity.This work proposes an effective strategy to address the surface trapping and surface catalysis issues in the nanostructured metal oxide photocatalysts.Xiaoyan Cai Liang Mao Mamoru Fujitsuka Tetsuro Majima Sujan Kasani Nianqiang Wu Junying Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:1

The aim of this study was to investigate expressions of IL-8, MCP-1 and MIP-1α in gallbladder adenocarcinoma tissues. Methods: Gallbladder adenocarcinoma and noncancerous tissues were routinely formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded, and in situ hybridization assay for IL-8, MCP-1and MIP-1α mRNA. Results:(1) The positive rates or the scorings of IL-8, MCP-1 and MIP-1α mRNA were significantly higher in human gallbladder adenocarcinoma than those in human chronic cholecystitis(P < 0.01). The positive rates or the scorings of three factors were lower in well-differentiatiated gallbladder adenocarcinoma than in poorly-differenfiatted ones, whereas there was only one significant difference between MCP-1 mRNA(P < 0.05). The closely positive correlation were found among IL-8, MCP-1 and MIP-1α mRNA.(2) Both the positive rates of IL-8 mRNA and MCP-1 mRNA as well as their scorings were tightly related to their invasion of the common bile duct and the occurrence of lymph node transfer, moreover, the positive rates of MIP-1α mRNA and its scorings were tightly related to its invasion of liver.(3) Close positive correlation exists not only in IL-8 mRNA and MCP-1 mRNA(r = 0.528), but also in MIP-1α mRNA and IL-8 mRNA(r = 0.422), so does in MCP-1mRNA and MIP-1α mRNA(r = 0.638). Conclusion: The positive rates or the scorings of IL-8, MCP-1 and MIP-1α mRNA are significantly higher in human gallbladder adenocarcinoma than those in human chronic cholecystitis, and the closely positive correlation are found among them, which suggests that IL-8, MCP-1 and MIP-1α regulate and influence the development and transformation of the gallbladder adencarcinoma together.Liang Zeng Xiaoyan Wang Lixue Zhou Chao Guo Chunlin Cai Jinshu Wu 2013The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2013,12,10:1
