| 1 | Sini powder ameliorates the inflammatory response in rats with stress-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B/pyrin domain-containing protein 3 pathway显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness of Sini powder for the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) in rats and the molecular mechanisms involved.METHODS: A rat model of stress-induced NAFLD was established by a combination of long-term tethering and feeding of a high-fat, high-calorie diet. These rats were then intragastrically administered with either simvastatin, Sini powder, or vehicle for 1 week. The body mass and field test scores for each group were recorded weekly. Serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase activities, and triglyceride, total cholesterol,and free fatty acid concentrations were measured.Liver tissue histopathology was examined on hematoxylin and eosin-stained paraffin sections and oil red O-stained frozen sections. The hepatic m RNA expression of nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB),NOD-, LRR-, and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing CARD(ASC), and caspase-1 were measured by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). The hepatic protein concentrations of NF-κB and NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, interleukin-1β(IL-1β), interleukin-6(IL-6), and the serum concentrations of IL-1β and IL-6 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS: Compared with the Blank group, rats in the Compound model group showed significant pathologic manifestations of NAFLD, and the expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1βand IL-6 were significantly higher(all P < 0.01). Both simvastatin and Sini powder significantly ameliorated the NAFLD pathology and the abnormal expression of NF-κB, NLRP3, ASC, caspase-1, IL-1β, and IL-6(all P < 0.01).CONCLUSION: Sini powder inhibits the inflamma-tory response in rats with NAFLD, which is mediated by NF-κB/NLRP3, IL-1β, and IL-6, reduces the effects of psychological stress, and improves lipid metabolism. | 2 | Enhanced Power Allocation Scheme in Ultra-Dense Small Cell Network显示文摘A feasible design of ultra-dense Small cell network involves an effective solution to the interference coordination especially in cell edge. In this paper, we propose a channel state and interference aware power allocation scheme(PAG) as an enhanced solution to improve the system performance, especially for the cell-edge users. Cournot model in Non-cooperative game is employed for power adjustment in Small cell clusters to increase cell-edge users' throughput by considering the power limitation and interference coordination. Additionally, we take iterative Water Filling scheme as a comparison to clarify that the PAG scheme has struck a favorable balance between system efficiency and fairness. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme contributes to the enhancement of edge users' throughput and cells' coverage. | 4 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 5 | The molecular diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in the arsenic mining impacted sites in Hunan Province of China显示文摘Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF) can establish a mutualistic association with most terrestrial plants even in heavy metal contaminated environments. It has been documented that high concentrations of toxic metals, such as arsenic(As) in soil could adversely affect the diversity and function of AMF. However, there are still gaps in understanding the community composition of AMF under long-term As contaminations. In the present study, six sampling sites with different As concentrations were selected in the Realgar mining area in Hunan Province of China. The AMF biodiversity in the rhizosphere soils of the dominant plant species was investigated by sequencing the nuclear small subunit ribosomal RNA(SSU rR NA) gene fragments using 454-pyrosequencing technique. A total of 11 AMF genera were identified,namely Rhizophagus, Glomus, Funneliformis, Acaulospora, Diversispora, Claroideoglomus, Scutellopora,Gigaspora, Ambispora, Praglomus, and Archaeospora, among which Glomus, Rhizophagus, and Claroideoglomus clarodeum were detected in all sampling sites, and Glomus was the dominant AMF genus in the Realgar mining area. Redundancy analysis indicated that soil pH, total As and Cd concentrations were the main factors influencing AMF community structure. There was a negative correlation between the AMF species richness and the total As concentration in the soil,but no significant correlation between the Shannon–Wiener index of the AMF and plants. | 8 | Molecular mechanism of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease induced and aggravated by chronic stress through HSL/ATGL-FFA which promotes fat mobilization显示文摘Objective:To study the effects of social stress(CS)and social stress combined with high-fat diet on fat mobilization as a candidate mechanism for the induction or aggravation of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods:Thirty-two male Wistar rats(250±10 g)were randomly allocated to a blank control group(BC),a high-fat diet group(HFD),a CS group,and a combined CS and high-fat diet group(CS t HFD).Rats were sacrificed and tissues were collected after 8 weeks.Liver and body mass were measured and used to calculate the liver index.Serum aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and free fatty acids(FFAs)were measured.Liver sections were examined microscopically after oil red O and hematoxylin and eosin staining.The relative mRNA expression of acetyl-CoA carboxylase(ACCase),hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A(HMG-CoA)reductase in liver,and hormone-sensitive lipase(HSL),and adipose triglyceride lipase(ATGL)in subcutaneous adipose tissue,were measured by real-time PCR.The liver concentrations of triglyceride,reactive oxygen species,and ACCase were measured by ELISA and HSL activity was determined using turbidimetry.Results:NAFLD developed in the CS,HFD,and CS t HFD groups,with the most severe NAFLD being in the CS t HFD group.Serum AST,ALT,and FFA,liver index,and hepatic triglyceride,FFA,and tumor necrosis factor-a were significantly higher in both the CS and CS t HFD groups.However,food intake and ACCase mRNA expression were lower.The mRNA expression of HSL and ATGL in adipose tissue was much higher,and HSL activity was higher in the CS group than in the BC group,and in the CS t HFD group than in the HFD group.Conclusion:We have successfully established two models of stress-induced NAFLD,suggesting stress can induce and aggravate NAFLD by promoting fat mobilization through upregulation of HSL and ATGL. | Jie Mu Xueqian Wang Qingguo Wang Fafeng Cheng Wenxiang Zhu Changxiang Li Chongyang Ma Changming Zhai Yajun Lian Xin Du | 2019 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2019,6,4: | 2 |
| 9 | SNR periodical variation of Chang'E-3 spacecraft orbiting the Moon显示文摘Chang'E-3 spacecraft was orbiting the Moon from December 6–14, 2013, and very long baseline interferometry(VLBI) observations were performed to improve the accuracy of its orbit determination. In the process of recording VLBI raw data, 2 bits quantization was implemented.Interesting phenomenon was that signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of each VLBI station experienced periodical change and had large variation on amplitude while in the Moon's orbit, whereas SNR kept in a stable level after Chang'E-3 landed on the Moon. Influence of varying elevation angle on SNR was analyzed and compensation of 2 bits quantization harmonics to SNR calculation was investigated. | 14 | Simulation and Projection of Near-Surface Wind Speeds in China by BCC-CSM Models显示文摘We evaluated the ability of the Beijing Climate Center models on different horizontal resolutions(BCC-CSM1.1 on approximately 280-km resolution and BCC-CSM1.1 m on approximately 110-km resolution) in simulating the nearsurface wind speeds(NWS) in China during 1961–2005. The spatial distribution of the annual mean NWS over China is better captured by BCC-CSM1.1 m than by BCC-CSM1.1 due to the finer resolution. The weakened NWS over China during 1961–2005 cannot be reproduced by BCC-CSM1.1, whereas BCC-CSM1.1 m is able to simulate the decreasing trend of the autumn NWS in North China, although the magnitude is about 1/3 of the observed value.This is attributed to the better performance of this finer-resolution model in reproducing the increase in sea level pressure over Mongolia and North China over the past 45 years. The results suggest that increasing the horizontal resolution of the BCC-CSM model has improved its ability in reproducing the spatial distribution and long-term changes of NWS over China. | 17 | Hydrogeological feasibility of mine water deep geological storage in Baotashan coarse sandstone:A case study in Ordos Basin显示文摘For the sake of mine water drainage and sustainable groundwater protection,the new approach of mine water deep geological storage(MWDGS)is highly necessary to save water resources in the semi-arid region of China.However,up to now,little academic research has been done on mine water geological storage.Given this situation,the hydrogeological feasibility of MWDGS was explored in Baotashan coarse sandstone(BCS)of Jurassic measure in Ordos Basin.The results show that the white-gray BCS with a fragile skeleton of quartz(41.4%),feldspar(21.1%),and clay minerals(16.4%)provides the potential variable-void for mine water;and its hydro-chemical type of BCS aquifer is CO_(3)-Na and Cl-Na.As the burial depth increases,the strong alkaline groundwater is in stagnant and poor recharge-runoff-discharge condition.The lab test shows that the pores whose diameter is over 10μm could be treated as the main storage of mine water;and the effective porosity varies from 1.36%to 3.46%.When mine water is injected,the strong hydrodynamics of mine water storage would change the permeability significantly and about 0.201%soluble solids would be dissolved.Partial clay minerals obstruct the pores and induce the saturated phase of high permeability to evolve into steady phase of lower permeability.Under the condition of nonhydraulic fracturing during continuous storage,the heterogeneous anisotropic medium obtained by Transition PRObability GeoStatistics(TPROGS)shows that the capacity of BCS aquifer is 0.455 to 1.226Mm^(3)for 1 km^(2)in the study area.The simulation shows that the groundwater mound in well-scale and mine-scale would be formed.The groundwater quality characteristics of“Three Zone”would occur around and gradually drop to approximate the original brine within 10 years.The hydrogeological feasibility reveals that this approach is useful for the well design and groundwater environment management during the mine water deep geological storage project in the Ordos basin. | Ge Chen Yajun Sun Zhimin Xu Xin Li | 2022 | Deep Underground Science and Engineering2022,1,2: | 0 |

| 19 | A novel gene-activated matrix composed of PEI/plasmid-BMP2 complexes and hydroxyapatite/chitosan-microspheres promotes bone regeneration显示文摘The incorporation of pro-osteogenic growth factors into bone graft materials to enhance bone regeneration is a key research area within the field of bone tissue engineering and regenerative medicine.However,growth factors directly incorporated in protein form are easily degraded,and have a limited active half-life,which cannot exert long-term and stable osteoinductive and oteoconductive effects.The combination of gene therapy and tissue engineering through gene-activated matrix(GAM)may provide a good alternative solution to overcome such limitations.Scaffold materials can be combined together with plasmid DNA and a chemical-based transfection agent to form GAM,through which transfected cells could secrete growth factors in a sustained manner over a longer time duration;thereby enabling bone graft materials to act as a repository of therapeutic genes,while providing structural support and a scaffold matrix for new bone tissue ingrowth.In this study,we prepared hydroxyapatite/chitosan-microspheres(HA/CS-MS)with microfabrication technology and emulsification method,and loaded the polyethylene imine/bone morphogenetic protein 2 plasmid(PEI/pBMP2)complexes with high transfection capacity(transfection efficiency up to 54.79%±4.95%),thus forming a novel GAM system with superior bone regeneration capacity—PEI/pBMP2-HA/CS-MS.The in vitro experiments in this study demonstrated that our GAM had excellent biocompatibility(with cell viability over 95%),and that the as-fabricated microsphere material possessed a nano-network fibrous structure similar to natural extracellular matrix(ECM),together with a higher surface area that can provide more cell adhesion sites.The sizes of the prepared microspheres were mainly distributed in the 160–180μm range,while the maximal loading rate of PEI-pBMP2 complexes was 59.79%±1.85%.As a loaded complexes system,the GAM can release plasmids in a slow controlled manner,effectively transfecting surrounding target cells(release effect for up to 21 days),while cells adherent to the material can also take up plasmids,resulting in sustained secretion of the target protein,thereby effectively promoting bone regeneration.In vivo data from micro-computed tomography(micro-CT)and histological staining showed that the use of the composite materials effectively enhanced bone regeneration in defect areas.These findings thus demonstrated that the novel GAM system had excellent osteoinductivity with significant clinical potential. | Ruyuan Ding Yajun Liu Dawei Cheng Gang Yang Wenjing Wu Haoran Du Xin Jin Yihan Chen Yuanyin Wang Boon Chin HENG Qing Yang Jianguang XU | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 0 |
| 20 | Effects of heat treatments on microstructures of TiAl alloys显示文摘This study aims to investigate the effects of heat treatments on the microstructure ofγ-TiAl alloys.Two Ti-47Al-2Cr-2Nb alloy ingots were manufactured by casting method and then heat-treated in two types of heat treatments.Their microstructures were studied by both optical and scanning electron microscopies.The chemical compositions of two ingots were determined as well.The ingot with lower Al content only obtains lamellar structures while the one higher in Al content obtains nearly lamellar and duplex structures after heat treatment within1270 to 1185℃.A small amount of B2 phase is found to be precipitated in both as-cast and heat-treated microstructures.They are distributed at grain boundaries when holding at a higher temperature,such as 1260℃.However,B2 phase is precipitated at grain boundaries and in colony interiors simultaneously after heat treatments happened at 1185℃.Furthermore,the effects of heat treatments on grain refinement and other microstructural parameters are discussed. | Wen Yu Jianxin Zhou Yajun Yin Zhixin Tu Xin Feng Hai Nan Junpin Lin Xianfei Ding | 2022 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,6: | 0 |
