Characteristics of coastline changes in China's Mainland since the early 1940s显示文摘Based on multi-temporal topographic maps, remote sensing images and field surveys covering the entire coastal zone of China's Mainland, the coastlines of six periods since the early 1940 s were extracted. Coastline changes over the last 70 years were then analyzed in terms of coastline structure, coastline fractals, coastline change rates, land-sea patterns, and bay areas. The results showed that mainland coastline structure changed dramatically, and due to the significant coastline artificialization mainly driven by sea reclamation and coastal engineering, the remaining natural coastline merely accounts for less than one third at present. Coastline fractal dimension represented an overall spatial pattern of 'north < entirety < south'; however, the discrepancy between the north and south coast was apparently narrowed due to dramatic coastline artificialization of northern China which in turn altered the whole pattern. Patterns and processes of land-sea interchange along the mainland coast were complex and varied spatially and temporally, with over 68% advancing toward sea and 22% retreating toward land. The net growth of land area was nearly 14.2 ×103 km2 with an average growth rate of 202.82 km2 a??; and coast retreat was characterized by area decrease of 93 bays with a magnitude of 10.1 ×103 km2 and an average shrinking rate up to 18.19% or an average shrinking speed up to 144.20 km2 a??, among which the total area of Bohai shrunk by 7.06%, with an average annual loss amounting to 82 km2. The dramatic coastline changes along China's Mainland have brought about kinds of challenges to the coastal environment, therefore the integrated management, effective environment protection and sustainable utilization of coastlines is urgent.HOU XiYong WU Ting HOU Wan CHEN Qing WANG YuanDong YU LiangJu 2016Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,9:18

Spatiotemporal variation and freeze-thaw asymmetry of Arctic sea ice in multiple dimensions during 1979 to 2020显示文摘Arctic sea ice is broadly regarded as an indicator and amplifier of global climate change. The rapid changes in Arctic sea ice have been widely concerned. However, the spatiotemporal changes in the horizontal and vertical dimensions of Arctic sea ice and its asymmetry during the melt and freeze seasons are rarely quantified simultaneously based on multiple sources of the same long time series. In this study, the spatiotemporal variation and freeze-thaw asymmetry of Arctic sea ice were investigated from both the horizontal and vertical dimensions during 1979–2020 based on remote sensing and assimilation data. The results indicated that Arctic sea ice was declining at a remarkably high rate of–5.4×10^(4) km^(2)/a in sea ice area(SIA)and–2.2 cm/a in sea ice thickness(SIT)during 1979 to 2020,and the reduction of SIA and SIT was the largest in summer and the smallest in winter.Spatially, compared with other sub-regions,SIA showed a sharper declining trend in the Barents Sea,Kara Sea,and East Siberian Sea,while SIT presented a larger downward trend in the northern Canadian Archipelago, northern Greenland, and the East Siberian Sea.Regarding to the seasonal trend of sea ice on sub-region scale, the reduction rate of SIA exhibited an apparent spatial heterogeneity among seasons, especially in summer and winter,i.e.,the sub-regions linked to the open ocean exhibited a higher decline rate in winter;however, the other sub-regions blocked by the coastlines presented a greater decline rate in summer. For SIT,the sub-regions such as the Beaufort Sea,East Siberian Sea,Chukchi Sea,Central Arctic, and Canadian Archipelago always showed a higher downward rate in all seasons.Furthermore,a striking freeze-thaw asymmetry of Arctic sea ice was also detected.Comparing sea ice changes in different dimensions, sea ice over most regions in the Arctic showed an early retreat and rapid advance in the horizontal dimension but late melting and gradual freezing in the vertical dimension. The amount of sea ice melting and freezing was disequilibrium in the Arctic during the considered period, and the rate of sea ice melting was 0.3×10^(4) km^(2)/a and 0.01 cm/a higher than that of freezing in the horizontal and vertical dimensions, respectively. Moreover, there were notable shifts in the melting and freezing of Arctic sea ice in 1997/2003 and 2000/2004,respectively,in the horizontal/vertical dimension.Yu Guo Xiaoli Wang He Xu Xiyong Hou 2024Acta Oceanologica Sinica2024,43,3:0
A simple and visualized method to screen for effective siRNAs by using green fluorescence protein (GFP) as a reporter显示文摘To screen for effective small interference RNA(siRNA),a simple and visualized method was developed using the green fluorescence protein(GFP)as a reporter.Candidate siRNAs targeting macrophage migration inhibition factor genes(MIF)were identified.By using the pEGFP-N3 vector, the MIF-GFP expression plasmid,pEGFP-MIF,was constructed with the same Kozak consensus translation initiation site and start code ATG for the MIF-EGFP coding sequence.Based on the siRNA expression vector pSilencer-4.1,3 candidate MIF siRNA expression plasmids were constructed and co-transfected with the pEGFP-MIF into the HEK293 cells, respectively. The GFP expression in HEK293 cells could be viewed by fluorescence microscopy and the MIF mRNA expressions were determined by real-time quantitative PCR.The 3 candidate MIF siRNA expression plasmids were also co-transfected with the MIF expression plasmid into the HEK293 cells, respectively, and the MIF mRNA expressions were determined by real-time quantitative PCR.The results show that the down-regulated expression of the MIF mRNA was consistent with the GFP expression and the same effective MIF siRNAs were screened by using the pEGFP-MIF or MIF expression plasmid with the candidate MIF siRNAs expression plasmids. Therefore,by using the GFP as a reporter,a useful method was provided to screen for effective siRNAs targeting specific genes co-expressed with the GFP.This may be a good strategy for screening for effective siRNAs targeting different genes.Zhixin SHAN Qiuxiong LIN Yongheng FU Chunyu DENG Xiaohong LI Xiyong YU 2008Frontiers in Biology2008,3,4:0
Gli1 promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition and metastasis of non-small cell lung carcinoma by regulating snail transcriptional activity and stability显示文摘Metastasis is crucial for the mortality of non-small cell lung carcinoma(NSCLC) patients. The epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) plays a critical role in regulating tumor metastasis.Glioma-associated oncogene 1(Gli1) is aberrantly active in a series of tumor tissues. However, the molecular regulatory relationships between Gli1 and NSCLC metastasis have not yet been identified. Herein,we reported Gli1 promoted NSCLC metastasis. High Gli1 expression was associated with poor survival of NSCLC patients. Ectopic expression of Gli1 in low metastatic A549 and NCI-H460 cells enhanced their migration, invasion abilities and facilitated EMT process, whereas knock-down of Gli1 in high metastatic NCI-H1299 and NCI-H1703 cells showed an opposite effect. Notably, Gli1 overexpression accelerated the lung and liver metastasis of NSCLC in the intravenously injected metastasis model. Further research showed that Gli1 positively regulated Snail expression by binding to its promoter and enhancing its protein stability, thereby facilitating the migration, invasion and EMT of NSCLC. In addition, administration of GANT-61, a Gli1 inhibitor, obviously suppressed the metastasis of NSCLC. Collectively, our study reveals that Gli1 is a critical regulator for NSCLC metastasis and suggests that targeting Gli1 is a prospective therapy strategy for metastatic NSCLC.Xueping Lei Zhan Li Yihang Zhong Songpei Li Jiacong Chen Yuanyu Ke Sha Lv Lijuan Huang Qianrong Pan Lixin Zhao Xiangyu Yang Zisheng Chen Qiudi Deng Xiyong Yu 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,10:0
A redox-responsive self-assembling COA-4-arm PEG prodrug nanosystem for dual drug delivery suppresses cancer metastasis and drug resistance by downregulating hsp90 expression显示文摘Metastasis and resistance are main causes to affect the outcome of the current anticancer therapies.Heat shock protein 90(Hsp90)as an ATP-dependent molecular chaperone takes important role in the tumor metastasis and resistance.Targeting Hsp90 and downregulating its expression show promising in inhibiting tumor metastasis and resistance. In this study,a redox-responsive dual-drug nanocarrier was constructed for the effective delivery of a commonly used chemotherapeutic drug PTX,and a COAmodified 4-arm PEG polymer(4PSC)was synthesized.COA,an active component in oleanolic acid that exerts strong antitumor activity by downregulating Hsp90 expression, was used as a structural and functional element to endow 4PSC with redox responsiveness and Hsp90 inhibitory activity. Our results showed that 4PSC/PTX nanomicelles efficiently delivered PTX and COA to tumor locations without inducing systemic toxicity.By blocking the Hsp90 signaling pathway,4PSC significantly enhanced the antitumor effect of PTX,inhibiting tumor proliferation and invasiveness as well as chemotherapy-induced resistance in vitro.Remarkable results were further confirmed in vivo with two preclinical tumor models. These findings demonstrate that the COA-modified 4PSC drug delivery nanosystem provides a potential platform for enhancing the efficacy of chemotherapies.Yi Zhou Yingling Miao Qiudi Huang Wenwen Shi Jiacui Xie Jiachang Lin Pei Huang Chengfeng Yue Yuan Qin Xiyong Yu He Wang Linghao Qin Jianhai Chen 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,7:0
Multi-temporal remote sensing of land cover change and urban sprawl in the coastal city of Yantai, China显示文摘The importance of accurately mapping and monitoring land cover changes over time is increasing, especially in rapidly growing coastal cities. In this study, three pairs of Landsat images of Yantai,a representative coastal city in China, from 1989,1999,and 2009 were selected to monitor land cover changes and urban sprawl dynamics. To improve the classification accuracy, three classification methods together with the minimum noise fraction(MNF)and pixel purity index(PPI)calculations were performed on the images. The classification results showed that the overall five-class classification accuracies averaged 91.38%for the 20-year period, which produced an accuracy of 83.78%for change maps. The analysis of change maps indicated that from 1989 to 2009,the percentage of urban area increased from 31.41%to 50.28%of the total area, and the newly urbanized area was mainly located in residential areas and the reclaimed harbor region.Analysis of the relationships between urban area and its driving forces obtained from statistical data found that the urban sprawl of Yantai before 2000 was relatively extensive, which is consistent with the conclusion drawn by using remote sensing techniques. The research results could be used as inputs for sustainable urban management and establishing Digital Earth database.Xinyang Yu Anding Zhang Xiyong Hou Mingjie Li Yingxiao Xia 2013International Journal of Digital Earth2013,6,S02:0
Application of the CatBoost Model for Stirred Reactor State Monitoring Based on Vibration Signals显示文摘Stirred reactors are key equipment in production, and unpredictable failures will result in significant economic losses and safety issues. Therefore,it is necessary to monitor its health state. To achieve this goal,in this study, five states of the stirred reactor were firstly preset:normal, shaft bending, blade eccentricity, bearing wear, and bolt looseness.Vibration signals along x,y and z axes were collected and analyzed in both the time domain and frequency domain.Secondly,93 statistical features were extracted and evaluated by ReliefF,Maximal Information Coefficient(MIC)and XGBoost. The above evaluation results were then fused by D-S evidence theory to extract the final 16 features that are most relevant to the state of the stirred reactor. Finally, the CatBoost algorithm was introduced to establish the stirred reactor health monitoring model. The validation results showed that the model achieves 100%accuracy in detecting the fault/normal state of the stirred reactor and 98%accuracy in diagnosing the type of fault.Xukai Ren Huanwei Yu Xianfeng Chen Yantong Tang Guobiao Wang Xiyong Du 2024Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2024,140,7:0
