| 4 | Algebraic-Based Nonbinary LDPC Codes with Flexible Field Orders and Code Rates显示文摘In this paper, we study the rank of matrices over GF(2~p),and propose two construction methods for algebraic-based nonbinary LDPC codes from an existing LDPC code, referred to as the original code. By multiplying all elements of each column of the binary parity-check matrix H corresponding to the original code with the same nonzero element of any field, the first class of nonbinary LDPC codes with flexible field order is proposed. The second method is to replace the nonzero elements of some columns in H with different nonzero field elements in a given field, and then another class of nonbinary LDPC codes with various rates is obtained. | 7 | Effects of ethanol extracts of scorpion on hippocampal apoptosis and caspase-3 expression in lithium chloride-pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus rats显示文摘BACKGROUND: Previous studies have demonstrated that scorpion venom in the scorpion can inhibit epilepsy and apoptosis.However,it remains unclear whether ethanol extracts of scorpion (EES) exhibit similar effects.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of EES on hippocampal apoptosis and caspase-3 expression,and to compare the effects on sodium valproate (positive control drug) in a rat model of status epilepticus induced by lithium chloride-pilocarpine.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: This randomized,controlled study was conducted at the Drug Research and Development Center,Kanghong Pharmaceuticals Group,and the Department of Pathology,Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences & Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital,China from May 2007 to April 2008.MATERIALS: EES were prepared by Huashen Pharmaceutical,China.Sodium valproate (Hunan Xiangzhong Pharmaceutical,China) and lithium chloride-pilocarpine (Sigma,USA) were also used in the present study.METHODS: From a total of 156 rats,six served as normal controls.The remaining rats were intraperitoneally injected with lithium chloride-pilocarpine to establish status epilepticus models,and then assigned to five groups (n = 30,respectively).Animals in each group were administered drugs at 15 minutes after epileptic seizure by gavage.i.e.in the normal control and model groups,rats were treated with 1 mL/0.1 kg saline.The sodium valproate group was administered 120 mg/kg/d sodium valproate.The low-,moderate-,and high-dose EES groups received treatments of 290,580,and 1 160 mg/kg/d EES.The dispensed concentration was 1 mL/0.1 kg.Rat seizure behavior was observed.If status epilepticus did not terminated after 1 hour,the rats were intraperitoneally administered atropine (1 mg/kg) and diazepam (10 mg/kg) to terminate seizure.These rats were continuously observed for 6 hours to ensure seizure termination.Then rats were treated with the above-mentioned drugs at 8: 00 am each day until sacrifice,which took place 4 hours after drug administration.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Terminal dUTP nick end labeling (TUNEL)-positive cells and caspase-3 expression were,respectively,determined by TUNEL and immunohistochemistry at 6,24,48,and 72 hours,as well as 7 days,after status epilepticus.Behavioral changes were also measured.RESULTS: A few caspase-3-positive cells were observed.TUNEL-and caspase-3-positive cells were mainly visible in the hippocampal CA1 and CA3 regions 6 hours following status epilepticus in the model and drug intervention groups.The number of TUNEL-positive cells reached a peak at 48 hours following status epilepticus in the sodium valproate group,as well as the moderate-and high-dose EES groups,and number of TUNEL-positive cells reached a peak at 72 hours in the model and low-dose EES groups.The number of caspase-3-positive cells reached a peak at 48 hours in each group.Following treatment of sodium valproate and EES,the number of TUNEL-and caspase-3-positive cells significantly decreased compared with the model group at various time points (P < 0.05).The number of TUNEL-and caspase-3-positive cells was greatest in the low-dose EES group,followed by the moderate-and high-dose EES groups.The number of TUNEL-and caspase-3-positive cells was similar between the sodium valproate and high-dose EES groups.Epileptic seizure was significantly improved in the sodium valproate group,as well as the moderate-and high-dose EES groups,compared with the model group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01).Treatment with sodium valproate and high-dose EES resulted in the best outcome,although the results were similar (P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: A dose of 1 160 mg/kg/d EES significantly inhibited status epilepticus.This outcome corresponded to a decreased number of apoptotic cells and caspase-3-positive cells,which was similar to sodium valproate.These results suggest that it is not necessary to extract a component from the scorpion for the treatment of epilepsy.The high dose of EES significantly inhibited epilepsy,which correlated with decreased hippocampal caspase-3 expression. | Liang Yu Hongbin Sun Yi Liang Yan Xie Baoming He Fei Xu | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,2: | 2 |

| 9 | Metal-organic frameworks derived flower-like Co_3O_4/nitrogen doped graphite carbon hybrid for high-performance sodium-ion batteries显示文摘In this work, a novel flower-like cobalt-based metal organic frameworks(MOFs) self-assembled by Co^(2+) and nicotinic acid have been designed and synthesized. After a simple annealing treatment, Co_3O_4 nanoparticles in-situ decorating on nitrogen doped graphite carbon-sheet(Co_3O_4/NC) were obtained. The resultant Co_3O_4/NC hybrid with unique flower-like structure and ration combination of Co_3O_4 nanoparticles and nitrogen doped graphite carbon, endowing the hybrid with enhanced electrical conductivity,short ion diffusion pathways and rich porosity to the materials, which can largely alleviate the problems of Co_3O_4 such as inferior intrinsic electrical conductivity, sluggish ion kinetics and large volume change upon cycling. When evaluated as anode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs), the Co_3O_4/NC hybrid exhibits satisfied reversible capacity(213.9 mAh g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g^(-1) ), excellent rate capability(145.4 m Ah g^(-1) at 2 A g^(-1) and 130.1 mAh g^(-1) at 4 A g^(-1) ) and robust long-term cycling stability(120.1 m Ah g^(-1) after 2000 cycles at 0.5 A g^(-1) ), showing great potential for high-performance SIBs. | Haifeng Xu Guang Zhu Baoming Hao | 2019 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,1: | 2 |

| 12 | Microalgae cultivation and culture medium recycling by a two-stage cultivation system显示文摘Nutrients and water play an important role in microalgae cultivation.Using wastewater as a culture medium is a promising alternative to recycle nutrients and water,and for further developing microalgae-based products.In the present study,two species of microalgae,Chlorella sp.(high ammonia nitrogen tolerance)and Spirulinaplatensis (S.platensis,high growth rate),were cultured by using poultry wastewater through a two-stage cultivation system for algal biomass production.Ultrafiltration (UF)or centrifuge was used to harvest Chlorella-sp.from the first cultivation stage and to recycle culture medium for S.platensis growth in the second cultivation stage.Results showed the two-stage cultiyation system produced high microalgae biomass including 0.39g·L^-1 Chlorella sp.and 3.45g·L^-1 S.platensis in the first-stage and second-stage,respectively.In addition,the removal efficiencies of NH4+reached 19% and almost 100% in the first and the second stage,respectively. | 20 | Construction of Short-Block Nonbinary LDPC Codes Based on Cyclic Codes显示文摘In this paper, we focus on shortblock nonbinary LDPC(NB-LDPC) codes based on cyclic codes. Based on Tanner graphs' isomorphism, we present an efficient search algorithm for finding non-isomorphic binary cyclic LDPC codes. Notice that the parity-check matrix H of the resulting code is square and not of full rank, and its row weight and column weight are the same. By replacing the ones in the same column of H with a nonzero element of fi nite fi elds GF(q), a class of NB-LDPC codes over GF(q) is obtained. Numerical results show that the constructed codes perform well over the AWGN channel and have fast decoding convergence.
