| 3 | Enhanced photocatalytic activity of rGO/TiO2 for the decomposition of formaldehyde under visible light irradiation显示文摘Due to the low concentration of indoor air contaminants,photocatalytic technology shows low efficiency for indoor air purification.The application of TiO_2 for photocatalytic removal of formaldehyde is limited,because TiO_2 can only absorb ultraviolet(UV) light.Immobilization of TiO_2 nanoparticles on the surface of graphene can improve the visible light photocatalytic activity and the adsorption capacity.In this study,rGO(reduced graphene oxide)/TiO_2 was synthesized through a hydrothermal method using titanium tetrabutoxide and graphene oxide as precursors,and was used for the degradation of low concentration formaldehyde in indoor air under visible light illumination.Characterization of the crystalline structure and morphology of rGO/TiO_2 revealed that most GO was reduced to rGO during the hydrothermal treatment,and anatase TiO_2 nanoparticles(with particle size of 15–30 nm) were dispersed well on the surface of the rGO sheets.rGO/TiO_2 exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity for degradation of formaldehyde in indoor air and this can be attributed to the role of rGO,which can act as the electron sink and transporter for separating photo-generated electron–hole pairs through interfacial charge transfer.Furthermore,rGO could adsorb formaldehyde molecules from air to produce a high concentration of formaldehyde on the surface of rGO/TiO_2.Under visible light irradiation for 240 min,the concentration of formaldehyde could be reduced to 58.5 ppbV.rGO/TiO_2 showed excellent moisture-resistance behavior,and after five cycles,r GO/TiO_2 maintained high photocatalytic activity for the removal of formaldehyde(84.6%).This work suggests that the synthesized rGO/TiO_2 is a promising photocatalyst for indoor formaldehyde removal. | Lian Yu Long Wang Xibo Sun Daiqi Ye | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,11: | 13 |

| 7 | Adsorption of VOCs on reduced graphene oxide显示文摘A modified Hummer's method was adopted for the synthesis of graphene oxide(GO) and reduced graphene oxide(rGO). It was revealed that the modified method is effective for the production of GO and rGO from graphite. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) images of GO and rGO showed a sheet-like morphology. Because of the presence of oxygenated functional groups on the carbon surface, the interlayer spacing of the prepared GO was higher than that of rGO. The presence of \OH and C_O groups in the Fourier transform infrared spectra(FTIR) spectrum and G-mode and 2D-mode in Raman spectra confirmed the synthesis of GO and rGO. rGO(292.6 m^2/g) showed higher surface area than that of GO(236.4 m^2/g). The prepared rGO was used as an adsorbent for benzene and toluene(model pollutants of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)) under dynamic adsorption/desorption conditions. rGO showed higher adsorption capacity and breakthrough times than GO. The adsorption capacity of rGO for benzene and toluene was 276.4 and 304.4 mg/g, respectively.Desorption experiments showed that the spent rGO can be successfully regenerated by heating at 150.0°C. | 8 | Predicting prognosis of rectal cancer patients with total mesorectal excision using molecular markers显示文摘AIM:To explore the prognostic variables in rectal cancer patients undergoing curative total mesorectal excision and the effect of postoperative chemotherapy in advanced rectal cancer. METHODS:A total of 259 consecutive rectal cancer patients treated with curative total mesorectal excision between 1999 and 2004 were collected. p53,p21,PCNA,and CD44v6 were examined using immunohistochemistry (IHC). The correlation between clinicopathological or molecular variables and clinical outcomes,including local recurrence,metastasis,disease-free survival and overall survival,was analyzed. RESULTS:The median follow-up was 44 mo. Five-year survival rates and 5-year disease free survival rates were 75.43% and 70.32%,respectively. Multi-analysis revealed TNM staging,preoperative CEA,and CD44v6 level were independent risk factors predicting overall survival or disease free survival. The hazard ratio of peroperative CEA was 2.65 (95% CI 1.4-5) and 3.10 (95% CI 1.37-6.54) for disease free survival and overall survival,respectively. The hazard ratio of CD44v6 was 1.93 (95% CI 1.04-3.61) and 2.21 (95% CI 1.01-4.88) for disease free survival and overall survival,respectively. TNM staging was the only risk factor predicting local recurrence. Postoperative chemotherapy without radiotherapy did not improve patients' outcome. CONCLUSION:TNM staging,preoperative CEA and CD44v6 were independent prognostic factors for rectal cancer patients with total mesorectal excision. | 10 | Microstructure of Steel 5Cr21Mn9Ni4N Alloyed by Rare Earth显示文摘The microstructure, composition and shape of precipitated piase under as-cast and finished product state of 5Cr21Mn9Ni4N steel with different rare earth (RE) amount were studied. Mechanical properties of 5Cr21Mn9Ni4N steels withont RE addition and with RE added by 0.2% in mass percent were tested respectively. The results indicate that the solid solution amount of RE is about 10 -6-10 -5 order of magnitude in 5Cr21Mn9Ni4N steel. Dendrite of as-cast condition is refined obviously and dimension of interstitial phase is shortened when RE is added by 0.10%-0.20%. But the microstructure will be coarser if surplus RE is added. | 11 | Coral community changes in response to a high sedimentation event:A case study in southern Hainan Island显示文摘A high sedimentation event caused by dredging and dumping of sediment was recorded on Xiaodonghai Reef in Yulin Bay,southern Hainan Island,China.Significantly high sedimentation and constant light shading were observed during the sediment dumping event(SD Event).Using long-term video transects,we quantified coral community changes and responses to the SD Event between 2008 and 2010.The SD Event caused severe coral mortality on Xiaodonghai Reef at a depth of 6 m,while corals at 3 m were less affected.Total live coral cover at 6 m decreased from 54.3% to 14.8%,and Diploastrea heliopora replaced Galaxea fascicularis as the dominant coral species at 6 and 9 m.The density of juvenile corals also declined after the SD Event,especially for the genera Galaxea and Platygyra.However,the density of juvenile Porites and Pocillopora spp.slightly increased.Monitoring for 11 months after the SD Event indicated no recovery of coral communities on Xiaodonghai Reef.Long-term video transect data also revealed that mean live coral cover dramatically declined,from 30.5% in 2008 to 9% in 2010,while the dominant corals in Yulin Bay shifted to more tolerant coral species,such as massive Porites spp.and D.heliopora.The rapid coral community degradation in Yulin Bay between 2008 and 2010 was probably caused by high sediment deposition resulting from intensive dredging and land-clearing activities.These results highlight the necessity for an integrated watershed management to control sediment deposition on near-shore coral reefs. | LI XiuBao HUANG Hui LIAN JianSheng YANG JianHui YE Cheng CHEN YongQiang HUANG LiangMin | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,9: | 7 |

| 14 | Comparison of the short-term and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic hysterectomies and of abdominal hysterectomies: a case study of 4,895 patients in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China显示文摘Background: To evaluate the short-term and long-term outcomes after laparoscopic hysterectomy(LH) compared with abdominal hysterectomy(AH) in case of benign gynecological disease. Methods: A multi-center cohort retrospective comparative study of population among 4,895 hysterectomies(3,539 LH vs.1,356 AH) between 2007 and 2013 was involved. Operative time(OT), estimated blood loss(EBL), intra-operative and post-operative complications, passing flatus; days with indwelling catheter, questionnaires covering pelvic floor functions and sexual functions were assessed.Results: The EBL(174.1±157.4 vs. 263.1±183.2 cc, LH and AH groups, respectively), passing flatus(38.7±14.1 vs. 48.1±13.2 hours), days with indwelling catheter(1.5±0.6 vs. 2.2±0.8 days), use of analgesics(6.5% vs. 73.1%), intra-operative complication rate(2.4% vs. 4.1%), post-operative complication rate(2.3% vs. 5.7%), post-operative constipation(12.1% vs. 24.6%), mild and serious stress urinary incontinence(SUI) post-operative(P<0.001; P=0.014), and proportion of Female Sexual Functioning Index(FSFI) total score <26.55 post-operative(P<0.001) of the LH group were significantly less than those of AH group. There wereno significant differences in OT(106.5±34.5 vs. 106.2±40.3 min) between the two groups.Conclusions: LH is a safe and efficient operation for improving patients' long-term quality of life(Qo L), and LH is a cost-effectiveness procedure for treating benign gynecological disease. | 16 | Weathering of Carbonate Rocks by Biological Soil Crusts in Karst Areas显示文摘The weathering of carbonate rocks by biological soil crusts(BSC) in karst areas is very common. It is helpful to understand the weathering mechanisms and processes for avoiding karst rock-desertification. The weathering of carbonate rocks by BSC in karst areas, namely the expansion, contraction and curl resulting from environmental wetting-drying cycles, was investigated and analyzed in this paper. The bulk density, area and thickness of BSC were determined and the weathering amount of limestone and dolomite per unit area of BSC was calculated as 3 700 and 3 400 g·m-2; the amount of biomass on the surface of limestone and dolomite was calculated as 1 146 and 1 301 g·m-2, respectively. Such an increased weathering amount was not only the result of chemical and physical weathering of BSC on carbonate rocks, but also the attachment and cementation of BSC to clay particles, dust-fall, sand particles, solid particles brought by strong air currents, wind and other factors in the surrounding environment, which may also be related to the special environment and the special time period. Based on the results obtained, a weathering mode of BSC is studied, and the mechanisms of weathering by BSC are discussed. | 17 | Retrospective analysis of perianal Paget's disease with underlying anorectal carcinoma显示文摘AIM:To analyze clinical and pathological characteristics of an aggressive subtype of perianal Paget's disease(PPD) and explore its rational treatment modalities.METHODS:PPD patients were retrospectively collected in the institutional colorectal database of the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center.Detailed patient histories of past medical condition,diagnosis,treatment,and pathological findings were reviewed.Surgical specimen from diagnosis and surgery were reviewed by two independent pathologists for confirmation of diagnoses.Follow up was accomplished by clinical interview by cellphone.RESULTS:In total,eight cases of PPD were analyzed.All patients had underlying anorectal adenocarcinoma,including seven with synchronous lesions and one with metachronous lesions.Moreover,all anorectal lesions had a mucin-producing component.The median age at diagnosis was 65(range 29-81 years),and the male/female ratio was 7:1.The Median follow-up time of all patients was 61.5 mo(range 10-204 mo).One patient treated with abdominoperineal resection(APR) died from lung metastases 10 mo after the APR operation.The other patients are still free of disease at the time of this analysis.CONCLUSION:PPD is a rare malignancy and is easily misdiagnosed.Underlying anorectal cancer was not unusual and was a significant prognostic factor.Rational treatment of both anorectal cancer and PPD lesion is essential for long-term survival. | Lian, Peng Gu, Wei-Lie Zhang, Zhen Cai, Guo-Xiang Wang, Ming-He Xu, Ye Sheng, Wei-Qi Cai, San-Jun | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010,16,23: | 5 |

In this study, we analyzed physical and biogeochemical properties of water quality via multivariate statistical techniques. Hierarchical cluster analysis(HCA) grouped HZB and XSB into two subareas of different pollution sources based on similar physical and biogeochemical properties. Principal component analysis(PCA) identified three latent pollution sources in HZB and XSB respectively and emphasized the importance of terrestrial inputs, coastal industries as well as natural processes in determining the water quality of the two bays.
