2Microstructure and tensile properties of low cost titanium alloys at different cooling rate显示文摘Titanium and titanium alloys have several advantages, but the cost of titanium alloys is very expensive compared with the traditional metal materials. This article introduces two new low-cost titanium alloys Ti-2.1Cr-1.3Fe (TCF alloy) and Ti-3Al-2.1Cr-1.3Fe (TACF alloy). In this study, we used Cr-Fe master alloy as one of the raw materials to develop the two new alloys. We introduce the microstructure and tensile properties of the two new alloys from β solution treated with different cooling methods. Optical microscopy (OM), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were employed to analyze the phase constitution, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe the fracture surfaces. The results indicate that the microstructures consist of β grain boundary and α′ martensite after water quenching (WQ), β matrix and α phase after air cooling (AC) and furnace cooling (FC), respectively. Also, the microstructure is the typical basketweave structures after FC. Of course, athermal ω is also observed by TEM after WQ. The strength increases with decreasing cooling rates and the plasticity is reversed. Because of the athermal ω, the strength and ductility are highest and lowest when the cooling method is WQ. The strength of TACF alloy is higher than the TCF alloy, but the plasticity is lower. The fracture surfaces are almost entirely covered with dimples under the cooling methods of AC and FC. 3Mechanical properties and microstructure of an α+β titanium alloy with high strength and fracture toughness显示文摘The Ti-Al-Sn-Zr-Cr-Mo-V-Si (Ti-62A) alloy, an alpha-beta alloy with high strength and fracture toughness, is currently used as an advanced structural material in aerospace and non-aerospace applications. Thermo-mechanical processes can be used to optimize the relationship between its strength and fracture toughness. A Ti-62A alloy bar can be machined through a transus β-forged plus α+β solution treated and aged specimen with a lamellar alpha microstructure. The effects of heat treatment on the mechanical properties were discussed. Heat treatment provided a practical balance of strength, fracture toughness, and fatigue crack growth resistance. 4A retrospective prognostic evaluation analysis using the 8th edition of American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)cancer staging system for luminal A breast cancer显示文摘Objective: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical prognostic value of the 8th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) staging system for luminal A breast cancer.Methods: Using both the anatomic and prognostic staging in the 8th edition of AJCC cancer staging system, we restaged patients with luminal A breast cancer treated at the Breast Disease Center, Peking University First Hospital from 2008 to 2014. Follow-up data including 5-year disease free survival(DFS), overall survival(OS) and other clinic-pathological data were collected to analyze the differences between the two staging subgroups.Results: This study included 421 patients with luminal A breast cancer(median follow-up, 61 months). The 5-year DFS and OS rates were 98.3% and 99.3%, respectively. Significant differences in 5-year DFS but not OS were observed between different anatomic disease stages. Significant differences were observed in both 5-year DFS and OS between different prognostic stages. Application of the prognostic staging system resulted in assignment of 175 of 421 patients(41.6%) to a different group compared to their original anatomic stages. In total, 102 of 103 patients with anatomic stage IIA changed to prognostic stage IB, and 24 of 52 patients with anatomic stage IIB changed to prognostic stage IB, while 1 changed to prognostic stage IIIB. Twenty-two of 33 patients with anatomic stage IIIA were down-staged to IIA when staged by prognostic staging system, and the other 11 patients were down-staged to IIB. Two patients with anatomic stage IIIB were down-staged to IIIA. Among seven patients with anatomic stage IIIC cancer, two were down-staged to IIIA and four were down-staged to stage IIIB.Conclusions: The 8th edition of AJCC prognostic staging system is an important supplement to the breast cancer staging system. 6Dynamic fracture toughness of TA15ELI alloy studied by instrumented impact test显示文摘The dynamic fracture toughness of TA15ELI alloy with two types of microstructures was studied by instrumented impact test.Charpy specimens with both the 0.2 mm U-notch and the a/W = 0.2 pre-crack were adopted to compare notch sensitivity in the two microstructures.The result shows that the specimen with Widmanst?tten microstructure exhibits a better dynamic fracture toughness and lower notch sensitivity than that with lath-like microstructure.Fracture surfaces in the case of the two microstructures are analyzed to have a ductile and brittle mixed feature under dynamic loading.The fracture surface of lath-like microstructure is composed of dimples and tear ridges,while that of Widmanst?tten microstructure is covered with rough block-like facets and dimples and tear ridges.The α phase boundaries and α/β interfaces act as locations for void nucleation and crack arrest and deviation.The decrease in width of α phase lamellae leads to the increase in the amount of boundaries and interfaces,which causes the increase in the consumption of impact energy and results in the improvement in dynamic fracture toughness.LIU Rui,HUI Songxiao,YE Wenjun,XIONG Baiqing,YU Yang,and FU Yanyan State Key Laboratory for Fabrication & Processing of Nonferrous Metals,General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals,Beijing 100088,China 2010Rare Metals2010,29,6:6

8Tensile and fracture properties of Ti-62A alloy plate with different microstructures显示文摘Ti-62A alloy plates with three different types of microstructure, fully equiaxed, bimodal, and Widmanst tten, were obtained by various heat treatments to investigate the effects of microstructure on the tensile and fracture properties at room temperature. The results reveal that Widmanst tten microstructure exhibits good damage tolerance behavior considering strength, fracture toughness, and fatigue crack growth behavior, while the bimodal microstructure shows good comprehensive properties considering the plasticity synthetically. 9Microstructure and cutting performance of Ti(C, N)-based cermets heat-treated in nitrogen显示文摘Ti(C, N)-based cermets were treated using hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at 1423 K in nitrogen. The microstructures compared with the as-sintered cermets were investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmis- sion electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, and electron microprobe analysis. It was found that high nitro- gen activity in the surface zone resulted in the formation of gradient structure. Approximately 20-μm-deep, nitrogen-rich and titanium-rich hard surface zone was introduced by the heat treatment. The nitrogen activity was the driving force that caused the transportation of the atoms through the binder, titanium towards the surface, and tungsten and molybdenum in- wards. In the surface zone, the particle size became fine, the inner rim disappeared, and the volume fraction of the outer rim and the binder phase considerably reduced. 10Materials Experiment on Tiangong-2 Space Laboratory显示文摘During the China's Tiangong-2(TG-2) flight mission, the experiments of 18 kinds of material samples were conducted in space by using a Multiple Materials Processing Furnace(MMPF) mounted in the orbital module of the TG-2 space laboratory. After the experiments of 12 kinds of samples of the first and second batches were completed successfully, astronauts packed and brought them back to the ground by ShenzhouII spacecraft. By studying processing and formation on semiconductor and optoelectronics materials, metal alloys and metastable materials, functional single-crystal, micro-and nano-composite materials encapsulated in sample ampoules both in space and on Earth, we expect to explore some physical and chemical processes and mechanism of the materials formation that are normally obscured and therefore are difficult to study quantitatively on the ground due to the gravity-induced convection, to obtain the processing and synthesis technology for preparing high quality materials, and lead to the improvement and development of materials processing techniques on Earth, and also develop the experiment device and comprehensive ability for materials experiment in microgravity environment. 11Martensitic transformation of Ti-18Nb(at.%) alloy with zirconium显示文摘The addition of 3%~9% Zr on the martensitic transformation of Ti-18Nb(at.%) alloy was investigated. The results of microstructure and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis show that the phase constitution of as-quenched Ti-18Nb-9Zr(at.%) alloy consists of the retained matrix and martensite, while that of the other three alloys is single martensite. No trace of athermal phase was found in any of the as-quenched alloys. Unlike the effect of Nb addition on the martensitic transformation start temperature Ms of Ti-18Nb(at.%) alloy, Ms de-creased nonlinearly as increasing the Zr addition from 3% to 9% and Ms decreased much more sharply as increasing the Zr addition. The Ms of as-quenched Ti-18Nb-9Zr alloy was around room temperature. 13Thermoresponsive Lignin-Reinforced Poly(Ionic Liquid)Hydrogel Wireless Strain Sensor显示文摘To meet critical requirements on flexible electronic devices,multifunctionalized flexible sensors with excellent electromechanical performance and temperature perception are required.Herein,lignin-reinforced thermoresponsive poly(ionic liquid)hydrogel is prepared through an ultrasound-assisted synthesized method.Benefitting from the electrostatic interaction between lignin and ionic liquid,the hydrogel displays high stretchability(over 1425%),excellent toughness(over 132 kPa),and impressive stress loading-unloading cyclic stability.The hydrogel strain sensor presents excellent electromechanical performance with a high gauge factor(1.37)and rapid response rate(198 ms),which lays the foundation for human body movement detection and smart input.Moreover,owing to the thermal-sensitive feature of poly(ionic liquid),the as-prepared hydrogel displays remarkable thermal response sensitivity(0.217℃^(-1))in body temperature range and low limit of detection,which can be applied as a body shell temperature indicator.Particularly,the hydrogel can detect dual stimuli of strain and temperature and identify each signal individually,showing the specific application in human-machine interaction and artificial intelligence.By integrating the hydrogel strain sensor into a wireless sensation system,remote motion capture and gesture identification is realized in real-time.Xinyu Qu Ye Zhao Zi’ang Chen Siying Wang Yanfang Ren Qian Wang Jinjun Shao Wenjun Wang Xiaochen Dong 2021Research2021,,1:3
14High-temperature mechanical properties of as-extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at different strain rates显示文摘The mechanical properties of as-extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at temperatures of 450-525℃ and strain rates of 3.0 s^(−1)and 0.15 s^(−1)were investigated by tensile tests.Zero ductility of alloy appeared at 500℃ with a strain rate of 0.15 s^(−1),while the zero strength and zero ductility of the alloy were obtained nearly simultaneously at 525℃ with a strain rate of 3.0 s^(−1).The results indicated that the lower strain rate accelerated the arrival of zero ductility.As the temperature increased,the failure mode of the alloy developed from trans-granular fracture to cleavage fracture and then to inter-granular fracture with the feature of sugar-like grains and fusion traces.The existence of the low-melting composite ofβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) and Al_(8)Mn_(5) particles segregated near the Mg_(17)Al_(12) phase along grain boundaries were demonstrated to be the reason for the brittle fracturing of the AZ80 alloy at high temperatures.Furthermore,microstructural evolution at temperatures approaching the solidus temperature was discussed to clarify magnesium alloy’s high temperature deformation mechanism.Wenjun Liu Bin Jiang Hongchen Xiang Qing Ye Shengqi Xia Siqiang Chen Jiangfeng Song Yanlong Ma Mingbo Yang 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,7:3
15Ultradurable,freeze-resistant,and healable MXene-based ionic gels for multi-functional electronic skin显示文摘Hydrogel is a potential matrix material of electronic-skins(E-skins)because of its excellent ductility,tunability,and biocompatibility.However,hydrogel-based E-Skins will inevitably lose their sensing performance in practical applications for water loss,physical damage,and ambient interferences.It remains a challenge to manufacture highly durable gel-based E-skins.Herein,an E-Skin is fabricated by introducing ionic liquids(ILs)into MXene-composited binary polymer network.The obtained ionic gel shows excellent mechanical properties,strong adhesion,and superior tolerance to harsh environments.The E-skin exhibits high sensitivity to both strain and pressure in a wide range of deformations,which enables a monitoring function for various human motions and physiological activities.Importantly,the E-skin shows consistent electrical response after being stored in the open air for 30 days and can be quickly healed by irradiation with 808 nm near-infrared light,originating from the photo-thermal effect induced self-healing acceleration.It is noteworthy that the E-skin also reveals a highly sensitive perception of temperature and near-infrared light,displaying the promising potential applications in the multifunctional flexible sensor.Yao Lu Xinyu Qu Siying Wang Ye Zhao Yanfang Ren Wenli Zhao Qian Wang Chencheng Sun Wenjun Wang Xiaochen Dong 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:2

17Sustained delivery of vascular endothelial growth factor mediated by bioactive methacrylic anhydride hydrogel accelerates peripheral nerve regeneration after crush injury显示文摘Neurotrophic factors,currently administered orally or by intravenous drip or intramuscular injection,are the main method for the treatment of peripheral nerve crush injury.However,the low effective drug concentration arriving at the injury site results in unsatisfactory outcomes.Therefore,there is an urgent need for a treatment method that can increase the effective drug concentration in the injured area.In this study,we first fabricated a gelatin modified by methacrylic anhydride hydrogel and loaded it with vascular endothelial growth factor that allowed the controlled release of the neurotrophic factor.This modified gelatin exhibited good physical and chemical properties,biocompatibility and supported the adhesion and proliferation of RSC96 cells and human umbilical vein endothelial cells.When injected into the epineurium of crushed nerves,the composite hydrogel in the rat sciatic nerve crush injury model promoted nerve regeneration,functional recovery and vascularization.The results showed that the modified gelatin gave sustained delivery of vascular endothelial growth factors and accelerated the repair of crushed peripheral nerves.Wanlin Xu Yifan Wu Hao Lu Yun Zhu Jinhai Ye Wenjun Yang 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,9:2
18Tall gastrodis tuber combined with antiepileptic drugs repairs abnormal perfusion foci in focal epilepsy显示文摘One hundred patients with focal epilepsy were recruited for the present study and their seizures controlled with antiepileptic drugs. The patients then orally received a capsule of tall gastrodis tuber powder, a traditional Chinese drug, and underwent single photon emission computed tomography, long-term electroencephalogram, and CT/MRI. Blood drug levels were monitored throughout the study. Before treatment with tall gastrodis tuber, 35 of the 100 cases had abnormal CT/MRI scans; 79 cases had abnormal single photon emission computed tomography images; 86 cases had abnormal electroencephalogram; and a total of 146 abnormal perfusion foci were observed across the 100 subjects. After treatment, the number of patients with normal single photon emission computed tomography images increased by 12; normal electroencephalogram was observed in an additional 27 cases and the number of patients with epileptiform discharge decreased by 29 (34% of 86); the total number of abnormal perfusion foci decreased by 52 (36%) and changes in abnormal foci were visible in 65 patients. These changes indicate that the administration of tall gastrodis tuber in combination with antiepileptic drugs repairs abnormal perfusion foci in patients with focal epilepsy.
