1Long-term thermal regimes of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway embankments in plateau permafrost regions显示文摘Ten years of ground temperature data(2003–2013) indicate that the long-term thermal regimes within embankments of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway(QTR) vary significantly with different embankment structures. Obvious asymmetries exist in the ground temperature fields within the traditional embankment(TE) and the crushed-rock basement embankment(CRBE). Measurements indicate that the TE and CRBE are not conducive to maintaining thermal stability. In contrast, the ground temperature fields of both the crushed-rock sloped embankment(CRSE) and the U-shaped crushed-rock embankment(UCRE) were symmetrical. However, the UCRE gave better thermal stability than the CRSE because slow warming of deep permafrost was observed under the CRSE. Therefore, the UCRE has the best long-term effect of decreasing ground temperature and improving the symmetry of the temperature field. More generally, it is concluded that construction using the cooling-roadbed principle meets the design requirements for long-term stability of the railway and for train transport speeds of 100 km h?1. 2Recent development of a refined multiple air pollutant emission inventory of vehicles in the Central Plains of China显示文摘Central Plains region of China,represented by Henan Province,is facing serious air pollution problems.Vehicular exhaust emissions had adverse impacts on the atmospheric environment.The first comprehensive and novel vehicle emission inventory for Henan Province using vehicle kilometers traveled,localized emission factors,and activity data at city-level was developed.Furthermore,3 km×3 km gridded emission and temporal variations were determined by using localized information.Results show that the total emissions of sulfur dioxide(SO2),nitrogen oxides(NOx),carbon monoxide(CO),particular matter with aerodynamic diameter<10μm(PM10),aerodynamic diameter<2.5μm(PM2.5),volatile organic compounds(VOCs),VOCs-evaporation and ammonia in 2015 were 9.1,533.4,1190.7,23.7,21.6,150.8,31.5 and 10.4 Gg,respectively,and the emission intensities of the above pollutants were 0.05,2.7,6.0,0.1,0.1,0.8,0.2 and 0.05 g/km,respectively.Vehicles meeting the Primary China 1,China 3 and China 4 contributed 89.1%,82.7%,75.3%,75.5%,75.5%,68.2%,68.4%and 82.3%for SO2,NOx,CO,PM10,PM2.5,VOCs,VOCs-evaporation and ammonia emissions,respectively.Zhengzhou,Zhoukou,Nanyang,Luoyang,Shangqiu and Xinyang showed relatively higher emissions and contributed more than 50%of each pollutant.The spatial distribution indicated obvious characteristics of the road network,and high-level emission was concentrated in the downtown areas.Additionally,the ozone formation potential(OFP)based on the estimated speciated VOC emissions was 569.6 Gg in Henan Province.Aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons were the main species of VOCs,whereas olefins contributed the largest proportion of OFP,with 42.2%.Xingke Gu Shasha Yin Xuan Lu Huan Zhang Lingling Wang Ling Bai Chen Wang Ruiqin Zhang Minghao Yuan 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,10:11
3Characteristics,sources and health risks assessment of VOCs in Zhengzhou,China during haze pollution season显示文摘Zhengzhou is one of the most haze-polluted cities in Central China with high organic carbon emission,which accounts for 15%-20%of particulate matter(PM_(2.5))in winter and causes significantly adverse health effects.Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)are the precursors of secondary PM_(2.5)and O_(3)formation.An investigation of characteristics,sources and health risks assessment of VOCs was carried out at the urban area of Zhengzhou from 1^(st) to 31^(st) December,2019.The mean concentrations of total detected VOCs were 48.8±23.0 ppbv.Alkanes(22.0±10.4 ppbv),halocarbons(8.1±3.9 ppbv)and aromatics(6.5±3.9 ppbv)were the predominant VOC species,followed by alkenes(5.1±3.3 ppbv),oxygenated VOCs(3.6±1.8 ppbv),alkyne(3.5±1.9,ppbv)and sulfide(0.5±0.9 ppbv).The Positive Matrix Factorization model was used to identify and apportion VOCs sources.Five major sources of VOCs were identified as vehicular exhaust,industrial processes,combustion,fuel evaporation,and solvent use.The carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risk values of species were calculated.The carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks of almost all air toxics increased during haze days.The total non-carcinogenic risks exceeded the acceptable ranges.Most VOC species posed no non-carcinogenic risk during three haze events.The carcinogenic risks of chloroform,1,2-dichloroethane,1,2-dibromoethane,benzyl chloride,hexachloro-1,3-butadiene,benzene and naphthalene were above the acceptable level(1.0×10^(-6))but below the tolerable risk level(1.0×10^(-4)).Industrial emission was the major contributor to non-carcinogenic,and solvent use was the major contributor to carcinogenic risks.Dong Zhang Bing He Minghao Yuan Shijie Yu Shasha Yin Ruiqin Zhang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,10:10
4A novel local search for unicost set covering problem using hyperedge configuration checking and weight diversity显示文摘The unicost version of well-known set covering problem(SCP) is central to a wide variety of practical applications for which finding an optimal solution quickly is crucial. In this paper, we propose a new local searchbased algorithm for the unicost SCP which follows the general framework of the popular stochastic local search with a particular focus on the hyperedge selection strategy and weight diversity strategy. Specifically, a strategy as called hyperedge configuration checking strategy is proposed here to avoid the search trajectory which leads to local optima. Additionally, a new weight diversity strategy is proposed for the diversification of search results,by changing the weight of both covered and uncovered vertices in the current solution. The experimental results show that our algorithm significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art heuristic algorithm by one to two orders of magnitudes on the 85 classical instances. 5Fault line selection in cooperation with multi-mode grounding control for the floating nuclear power plant grid显示文摘The Floating nuclear power plant grid is composed of power generation,in-station power supply and external power delivery.To ensure the safety of the nuclear island,the in-station system adopts a special power supply mode,while the external power supply needs to be adapted to different types of external systems.Because of frequent single phase-ground faults and various fault forms,the fault line selection protection should be accurate,sensitive and adaptive.This paper presents a fault line selection method in cooperation with multi-mode grounding control.Based on the maximum united energy entropy ratio(MUEER),the optimal wavelet basis function and decomposition scale are adaptively chosen,while the fault line is selected by wavelet transform modulus maxima(WTMM).For high-impedance faults(HIFs),to enlarge the fault feature,the system grounding mode can be switched by the multi-mode grounding control.Based on the characteristic of HIFs,the fault line can be selected by comparing phase differences of zero-sequence current mutation and fault phase voltage mutation before and after the fault.Simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink show the effectiveness of the proposed method in solving the protection problems.Yikai Wang Xin Yin Wen Xu Xianggen Yin Minghao Wen Lin Jiang 2020Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2020,5,1:3
6A randomized diversification strategy for solving satisfiability problem with long clauses显示文摘Satisfiability problem(SAT) is a central problem in artificial intelligence due to its computational complexity and usefulness in industrial applications. Stochastic local search(SLS) algorithms are powerful to solve hard instances of satisfiability problems, among which CScore SAT is proposed for solving SAT instances with long clauses by using greedy mode and diversification mode. 7In-situ testing study on convection and temperature characteristics of a new crushed-rock slope embankment design in a permafrost region显示文摘For the purpose of enhancing air convection and controlling solar radiation, a new crushed-rock slope embankment design combined with a sun-shade measure is proposed. A newly designed embankment was constructed in the Tuotuohe section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and a field-testing experiment was carried out to determine its convection and temperature characteristics. The results show that distinct air convection occurred in the crushed-rock layer of the new embankment, especially in cold seasons, which was enhanced when it flowed upwards along the slope. This preliminarily indicated that the new design of the embankment slope was good for reinforcing air convection in the crushed-rock layer. The frequent fluctuations of the convection speed and the environmental wind speed were in good agreement, suggesting that the convection in the crushed rock primarily came from the ambient wind. It was also preliminarily determined that the new embankment had a better cooling effect and sun-shade effect for decreasing the temperature of the embankment slope compared with a traditional crushed-rock slope embankment, and the mean temperature difference between them was up to 1.7 °C. The mean annual temperature at the bottom boundary of the crushed-rock layer was obviously lower than that at the top boundary, and heat flux calculation showed that the shallow soil beneath the embankment slope was weakly releasing heat, all of which indicated that the new embankment slope design was beneficial to the thermal stability of the embankment. 8Experimental analyses on phase transitions in compiling satisfiability problems显示文摘In the past decade,a kind of well-known phenomena in many complex combinatorial problems such as satisfiability problem,called phase transition,have been widely studied.In this paper,the phase transition phenomena are investigated during compiling k-satisfiability problems into tractable languages with empirical methods.Ordered binary decision diagram and deterministic-decomposable negation normal form are selected as the tractable target languages for the compilation.Via intensive experiments,it can be concluded that an easy–hard–easy pattern exists during the compilations,which is only related to the ratio of the number of clauses to that of variables if we set k to a fixed value,rather than to the target languages.Moreover,it can be concluded that the space exhausted during the compilations grows exponentially with the number of variables growing,whereas there is also a phase transition separating the polynomial-increment region from the exponential-increment region.Additionally,it can be observed that there is a phase transition of prime implicants around peak points of the easy–hard–easy pattern and the ratios of random instances whose average lengths of prime implicants are larger than the threshold 0.5 change sharply.From these analyses,it can be concluded that prime implicant length and solution interchangeability are crucial impacts on sizes of compilation results.GAO Jian WANG JiaNan YIN MingHao 2015Science China(Information Sciences)2015,58,3:3

12Dating of two thermokarst lakes in Beiluhe Basin, Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Most of the thermokarst lakes are spread appreciably in Beiluhe Basin,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,China,where ice-rich permafrost exists.Two typical thermokarst lakes with differing area and depth were examined to ascertain their age.We obtained lake-bottom samples of 50 cm length from lake BLH-A and 25 cm length from lake BLH-B.Environmental 137 Cs and 210 Pb and radiocarbon age dating techniques were applied to the 50 cm and 25 cm samples,respectively.The results indicate that the initiation of BLH-A is about 800–900 a B.P.,and approximately 1,450±30 a B.P.to 2,230±30 a B.P.for BLH-B.These results will provide scientific bases for sedimentological study and thermokarst activity in Beiluhe Basin.ZhanJu Lin FuJun Niu Jing Luo MingHao Liu GuoAn Yin 2014Research in Cold and Arid Regions2014,6,5:1

20Fabrication of extreme wettability surface for controllable droplet manipulation over a wide temperature range显示文摘Droplet controllable manipulation over a wide temperature range has promising applications in microelectronic heat dissipation, inkjet printing, and high temperature microfluidic system. However, the fabrication of a platform for controllable droplet manipulation using the methods commonly used in industry remains a tremendously challenge. The popular method of controlling droplets is highly dependent on external energy input and has relatively poor controllability in terms of droplet motion behaviors and manipulation environment, such as distance, velocity, direction and a wide temperature range. Here, we report a facile and industrially applicable method for preparing Al superhydrophobic (S-phobic) surfaces, which enables controlled droplet bouncing, evaporation, and transport over a wide temperature range. Systematic mechanistic studies are also investigated. Extreme wettability surfaces were prepared on Al substrate by a composite process of electrochemical mask etching and micro-milling. To investigate the evaporation process and thermal coupling characteristics, controlled evaporation and controlled bouncing of droplet in a wide temperature range were conducted. Based on the evaporation regulation and bouncing mechanism of droplets on an extreme wettability surface, by using Laplace pressure gradients and temperature gradients, we realized controlled transport of droplets with confluence, split-flow, and gravity-resistant transport over a wide temperature range, offering a potential platform for a series of applications, such as new drug candidates and water collection.Chengsong Shu Qitong Su Minghao Li Zhenbin Wang Shaohui Yin Shuai Huang 2022International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2022,4,4:1
