| 1 | Clinical and biochemical indexes from 2019-nCoV infected patients linked to viral loads and lung injury显示文摘The outbreak of the 2019-nCoV infection began in December 2019 in Wuhan,Hubei province,and rapidly spread to many provinces in China as well as other countries.Here we report the epidemiological,clinical,laboratory,and radiological characteristics,as well as potential biomarkers for predicting disease severity in 2019-nCoV-infected patients in Shenzhen,China.All 12 cases of the 2019-nCoV-infected patients developed pneumonia and half of them developed acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).The most common laboratory abnormalities were hypoalbuminemia,lymphopenia,decreased percentage of lymphocytes (LYM) and neutrophils (NEU),elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),and decreased CD8 count.The viral load of 2019-nCoV detected from patient respiratory tracts was positively linked to lung disease severity.ALB,LYM,LYM (%),LDH,NEU (%),and CRP were highly correlated to the acute lung injury.Age,viral load,lung injury score,and blood biochemistry indexes,albumin (ALB),CRP,LDH,LYM (%),LYM,and NEU (%),may be predictors of disease severity.Moreover,the Angiotensin Ⅱlevel in the plasma sample from 2019-nCoV infected patients was markedly elevated and linearly associated to viral load and lung injury.Our results suggest a number of potential diagnosis biomarkers and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) drugs for potential repurposing treatment of 2019-nCoV infection. | Yingxia Liu Yang Yang Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Jianming Li Cheng Feng Zheng Zhang Lifei Wang Ling Peng Li Chen Yuhao Qin Dandan Zhao Shuguang Tan Lu Yin Jun Xu Congzhao Zhou Chengyu Jiang Lei Liu | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,3: | 157 |

| 3 | Autonomous driving: cognitive construction and situation understanding显示文摘Autonomous vehicle is a kind of typical complex artificial intelligence system. In current research of autonomous driving, the most widely adopted technique is to use a basic framework of serial information processing and computations, which consists of four modules: perception, planning, decision-making, and control. However, this framework based on data-driven computing performs low computational efficiency,poor environmental understanding and self-learning ability. A neglected problem has long been how to understand and process environmental perception data from the sensors referring to the cognitive psychology level of the human driving process. The key to solving this problem is to construct a computing model with selective attention and self-learning ability for autonomous driving, which is supposed to possess the mechanism of memorizing, inferring and experiential updating, enabling it to cope with traffic scenarios with high noise, dynamic, and randomness. In addition, for the process of understanding traffic scenes,the efficiency of event-related mechanism is more significant than single-attribute scenario perception data.Therefore, an effective self-driving method should not be confined to the traditional computing framework of‘perception, planning, decision-making, and control’. It is necessary to explore a basic computing framework that conforms to human driver’s attention, reasoning, learning, and decision-making mechanism with regard to traffic scenarios and build an autonomous system inspired by biological intelligence. In this article, we review the basic methods and main progress in current data-driven autonomous driving technologies, deeply analyze the limitations and major problems faced by related algorithms. Then, combined with authors’ research, this study discusses how to implement a basic cognitive computing framework of self-driving with selective attention and an event-driven mechanism from the basic viewpoint of cognitive science. It further describes how to use multi-sensor and graph data with semantic information(such as traffic maps and a spatial correlation of events) to realize the associative representations of objects and drivable areas, as well as the intuitive reasoning method applied to understanding the situations in different traffic scenarios. | 4 | Elevated plasma levels of selective cytokines in COVID-19 patients reflect viral load and lung injury显示文摘A recent outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan,China was found to be caused by a 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV or SARS-CoV-2 or HCoV-19).We previously reported the clinical features of 12 patients with2019-n Co V infections in Shenzhen,China.To further understand the pathogenesis of COVID-19 and find better ways to monitor and treat the disease caused by 2019-n Co V,we measured the levels of 48 cytokines in the blood plasma of those 12 COVID-19 patients.Thirty-eight out of the 48 measured cytokines in the plasma of 2019-n Co V-infected patients were significantly elevated compared to healthy individuals.Seventeen cytokines were linked to 2019-nCoV loads.Fifteen cytokines,namely M-CSF,IL-10,IFN-α2,IL-17,IL-4,IP-10,IL-7,IL-1 ra,G-CSF,IL-12,IFN-γ,IL-1α,IL-2,HGF and PDGF-BB,were strongly associated with the lung-injury Murray score and could be used to predict the disease severity of2019-n Co V infections by calculating the area under the curve of the receiver-operating characteristics.Our results suggest that 2019-nCoV infections trigger extensive changes in a wide array of cytokines,some of which could be potential biomarkers of disease severity of 2019-n Co V infections.These findings will likely improve our understanding of the immunopathologic mechanisms of this emerging disease.Our results also suggest that modulators of cytokine responses may play a therapeutic role in combating the disease once the functions of these elevated cytokines have been characterized. | Yingxia Liu Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Yang Yang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zheng Zhang Yuhao Qin Xiaoyun Li Dandan Zhao Shunwang Li Shuguang Tan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Chenguang Shen Jianming Li Ling Peng Weibo Wu Mengli Cao Li Xing Zhixiang Xu Li Chen Congzhao Zhou William J Liu Lei Liu Chengyu Jiang | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,6: | 6 |
| 5 | Survey of reefs based on Landsat 8 operational land imager(OLI)images in the Nansha Islands, South China Sea显示文摘A detailed survey of the reefs in the Nansha Islands' sea that are of strategic importance is conducive to their future development. In this study, a total of 50 Landsat 8 operational land imager(OLI) images were used to analyze the geological features and spectral characteristics of the Nansha reefs. The exposed islands/sandbanks,reef flats and sub-tidal reefs were identified with the near-infrared band, the red and green bands, and the blue band, respectively. Based on the relationships among various characteristics and bands illustrated in the OLI images, the maximum between-cluster variance threshold algorithm(OTSU method) and the mathematical morphology were employed to extract characteristic parameters of the spatial geometry of the reefs from top to bottom, which were subsequently operated by a series of post-processing methods such as vectorization,simplification and topological analysis. Among the 132 standalone reefs and 16 atolls that are identified in the study, four reefs have yet to be named in the Standard Names of Various Islands in the South China Sea and the website Nansha Islands Online(http://gffzzd4db47f6efa542b8h5vnwpb0nbk966xq6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/). Another 24 ones are exposed to the atmosphere even during high tides. Taiping Island with an area of 0.57 km^2 represents the largest exposed geological feature. | 17 | Exploration of B-site alloying in partially reducing Pb toxicity and regulating thermodynamic stability and electronic properties of halide perovskites显示文摘Alloying strategies provide a high degree of freedom for reducing lead toxicity,improving thermodynamic stability, tuning the optoelectronic properties of ABX3 halide perovskites by varying the alloying element species and their contents.Given the key role of B-site cations in contributing band edge states and modulating structure factors in halide perovskites,the partial replacement of Pb2+with different B-site metal ions has been proposed.Although several experimental attempts have been made to date,the effect of B-site alloying on the stability and electronic properties of halide perovskites has not been fully explored.Herein,we take cubic CsPbBr3 perovskite as the prototype material and systematically explore the effects of B-site alloying on Pb-containing perovskites.According to the presence or absence of the corresponding perovskite phase,the ten alloying elements investigated are classified into three types(i.e.,Type Ⅰ:Sn Ge,Ca,Sr;Type Ⅱ:Cd,Mg,Mn;Type Ⅲ:Ba,Zn,Cu).Based on the first-principles calculations,we obtain the following conclusions.First,these B-site alloys will exist as disordered solid solutions rather than ordered structures at room temperature throughout the composition space.Second,the alloying of Sn and Ge enhances the thermodynamic stability of the cubic perovskite host,whereas the alloying of the other elements has no remarkable effect on the thermodynamic stability of the cubic perovskite host.Third,the underlying physical mechanism for bandgap tuning can be attributed to the atomic orbital energy mismatch or quantum confinement effect.Fourth,the alloying of different elements demonstrates the diversity in the regulation of crystal structure and electronic properties,indicating potential applications in photovoltaic s and self-trapped exciton-based light-emitting applications.Our work provides theoretical guidance for using alloying strategies to reduce lead toxicity,enhance stability,and optimize the electronic properties of halide perovskites to meet the needs of optoelectronic applications. | Xinjiang Wang Muhammad Faizan Kun Zhou Hongshuai Zou Qiaoling Xu Yuhao Fu Lijun Zhang | 2023 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,3: | 1 |
| 18 | Research on Dynamic and Static Test Methods for Evaluating the Poisson's Ratio of Orien ted Strand Board显示文摘In this article,dynamic method and static method of testing Poisson's ratio of OSB(Oriented Strand Board)were proposed.Through modal and static numerical analyses,the position where the transverse stress is equal to zero was determined.The binary linear regression method was applied to express the gluing position of the strain gauge as a relational express ion that depended on the length-width ratio and width-thickness ratio of the canti-lever plate.Then the longitudinal and transverse Poisson's ratios of OSB were mea sured by the given dynamic and static methods.In addition,the test results of OSB Poisson's ratio were analyzed with the probability distribution of random variables.The results showed that using the proposed dynamic method and static method,the test results for longitudinal and transverse Poisson's ratios of OSB were quite consistent,despite the gluing position of the strain gauges being different.And these OSB Poisson's ratios were accorded with that obtained by the axial tensile method and the four-point bending method.OSB longitudinal and transverse Poisson's ratios followed Weibull distribution. | Yuhao Zhou Yuhang He Zhaoyu Shen Zheng Wang | 2022 | Journal of Renewable Materials2022,10,12: | 1 |
| 19 | Light-Induced Heat Driving Active Ion Transport Based on 2D MXene Nanofluids for Enhancing Osmotic Energy Conversion显示文摘Osmotic energy from the ocean,also called blue energy,serves as a clean,renewable,and vast energy source for the energy demands of the world.Reverse electrodialysis-based blue energy harvesting via ion-selective membranes,by the regulation and manipulation of directional ion transport,has been greatly developed recently.In particular,light has been employed to enhance directional ion transport for energy conversion through an increase in photo-induced surface charge.Here,the authors demonstrate a novel nanofluidic regulation strategy based on the phenomenon of light-induced heat-driven active ion transport through the lamellar MXene membrane.Due to the great light-induced heat effect,a temperature gradient appears as soon as illumination is applied to an off-center position,inducing an actively temperature gradient-driven ionic species transport.By employing this phenomenon,the authors conducted light-induced heat-enhanced osmotic energy conversion and doubled the osmotic energy conversion power density.This study has extended the scope of light-enhanced osmotic energy conversion and could further bring other photothermal materials into this field.Furthermore,the proposed system provides a new avenue of light-controlled ionic transport for ion gathering,desalination,and energy conversion applications. | Pei Liu Teng Zhou Yunfei Teng Lin Fu Yuhao Hu Xiangbin Lin Xiang-Yu Kong Lei Jiang Liping Wen | 2021 | CCS Chemistry2021,3,4: | 1 |
