| 3 | Formation age and tectonic environment of the Gantaohe Group,North China Craton:Geology,geochemistry,SHRIMP zircon geochronology and Hf-Nd isotopic systematics显示文摘The Gantaohe Group is an important early Precambrian unit in the Trans-North China Orogen,North China Craton,and is mainly composed of greenschist-facies metabasalt,meta-sandstone and dolomitic marble.We report whole-rock geochemical compositions and SHRIMP zircon ages as well as LA-ICP-MS Hf-in-zircon isotopeic analyses for metabasalts from the Gantaohe Group.SHRIMP dating yielded a weighted mean 207Pb/206Pb age of 2087±16 Ma(MSWD=1.3) for magmatic zircons,but there are also abundant ca.2.5 Ga inherited zircon xenocrysts.The magmatic zircons shows a large Hf(t) variation in Hf(t) from 7.17 to +0.45,suggesting an isotopically highly heterogeneous source for the metabasalt.Chemically all samples show no distinct Zr or Hf anomalies,and some samples show no Nd or Ta anomalies in a primitive mantle-normalized trace element variation diagram,and their whole-rock Nd(t) values range from 4.0 to 0.8.We suggest that the basalt is formed by partial melting of a depleted mantle source,followed by significant crustal contamination.Field observations,the presence of abundant inherited zircon,as well as isotope and trace elements geochemistry support formation of the Gantaohe Group on top of a continental basement.These data and the regional geology lead us to conclude that the Trans-North China Orogen constituted an intracontinental rift during the Paleoproterozoic that was connected to the Eastern Block since the end of the Archean. | XIE HangQiang LIU DunYi YIN XiaoYan ZHOU HongYing YANG ChongHui DU LiLin WAN YuSheng | 2012 | Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,36: | 16 |
| 4 | Major advances in studies of the physical geography and living environment of China during the past 70 years and future prospects显示文摘The natural environment provides material essentials for human survival and development. The characteristics,processes, regional differentiation and forcing mechanisms of the elements of the natural environment(e.g. geomorphology,climate, hydrology, soil, etc.) are the main objects of research in physical geography. China has a complex natural environment and huge regional differentiation and therefore it provides outstanding reserach opportunities in physical geography. This review summarizes the most important developments and the main contributions of research in the physical geography and human living environment in China during the past 70 years. The major topics addressed are the uplift of the Tibetan Plateau and the evolution of its cryosphere, the development of fluvial systems, the acidification of the vast arid region of the Asian interior, variations in the monsoon and westerly climate systems on multiple timescales, the development of lakes and wetlands, the watershed system model, soil erosion, past human-environment interactions, biogeography, and physical geographic zonality. After briefly introducing international research developments, we review the history of research in physical geography in China, focusing on the major achievements and major academic debates, and finally we summarize the status of current research and the future prospects. | 11 | Silicon lithium-ion battery anode with enhanced performance: Multiple effects of silver nanoparticles显示文摘Silicon has been regarded as one of the most promising next generation lithium-ion battery anode. However, the poor cyclic stability of the Si based anode has severely limited its practical applications, which is even worse with high mass loading density(>1 mg cm^(-2)). A new concept has been developed to enhance the electrochemical performance of the Si nanoparticle anode. Silver nanoparticles are composited with the silicon nanoparticles in a facile way for the first time. It is found that the mechanical properties of the Si electrode have been significantly improved by the incorporation of the silver nanoparticles, leading to enhanced cyclic performance. With the Si/Ag mass ratio of 4:1, the reversible specific discharge capacity is retained as 1156 m A h g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 200 mA g^(-1), which is more than three times higher than that of the bare silicon(318 mA h g^(-1)). | 12 | Identification of Animal Rabies in Inner Mongolia and Analysis of the Etiologic Characteristics显示文摘Objective To perform pathological observation and etiological identification of specimens collected from dairy cows,beef cattle and dogs which were suspected of rabies in Inner Mongolia in 2011,and analyze their etiological characteristics. Methods Pathological observation was conducted on the brain specimens of three infected animals with Hematoxylin-Eosin staining,followed by confirmation using immunofluorescence and nested RT-PCR methods. Finally,phylogenetic analysis was conducted using the virus N gene sequence amplified from three specimens. Results Eosinophilic and cytoplasmic inclusion bodies were seen in neuronal cells of the CNS; and rabies non-characteristic histopathological changes were also detected in the CNS. The three brain specimens were detected positive. N gene nucleotide sequence of these three isolates showed distinct sequence identity,therefore they fell into different groups in the phylogenetic analysis. N gene in the cow and dog had higher homology with that in Hebei isolate,but that in the beef cattle had higher homology with that in Mongolian lupine isolate and Russian red fox isolate. | 13 | Impact of self-heating effects on nanoscale Ge p-channel Fin FETs with Si substrate显示文摘In this paper, self-heating effects(SHE) in nanoscale Ge p-channel Fin FETs with Si substrate are evaluated by TCAD simulation. Hydrodynamic transport with modified mobilities and Fourier′s law of heat conduction with modified thermal conductivities are used in the simulation. Ge p-channel single-fin Fin FET devices with different S/D extension lengths and fin heights, and multi-fin Fin FETs with different fin numbers and fin pitches are successively investigated. Boundary thermal resistances at source, drain and gate contacts are set to 2000 μm^2 K/W and the substrate thermal boundary condition is set to 300 K so that the source and drain heat dissipation paths are the first two heat dissipation paths. The results are listed below:(i) 14 nm Ge p-channel single-fin Fin FETs with a 47 nm fin pitch experience 9.7% on-state current degradation.(ii) Considering the same input power, Fin FETs with a longer S/D extension length show a higher lattice temperature and a larger on-state current degradation.(iii) Considering the same input power, Fin FETs with a taller fin height show a higher lattice temperature.(iv) The temperature in multi-fin Fin FET devices will first increase then saturate with the increasing fin number. | 14 | Ni/MgO catalyst prepared using atmospheric high-frequency discharge plasma for CO_2 reforming of methane显示文摘A new type of Ni/MgO catalyst was prepared using atmospheric high-frequency discharge cold plasma. The influences of conventional method, plasma method, and plasma plus calcination method on the catalytic activity were studied and the CO2 reforming of methane was chosen as the probe reaction. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and CO2 temperature-programmed surface reaction techniques. The results suggested that the nickel-based catalyst prepared by plasma plus calcination method possessed a smaller particle size and a higher dispersion of active component, better low-temperature activity and enhanced anti-coking ability. | 17 | Impact of ambient temperature on the self-heating effects in FinFETs显示文摘We use an electro-thermal coupled Monte Carlo simulation framework to investigate the self-heating effect(SHE) in 14 nm bulk n Fin FETs with ambient temperature(T_A) from 220 to 400 K. Based on this method, nonlocal heat generation can be achieved. Contact thermal resistances of Si/Metal and Si/Si O_2 are selected to ensure that the source and drain heat dissipation paths are the first two heat dissipation paths. The results are listed below:(i) not all input power(Q_(input) turns into heat generation in the device region and some is taken out by the thermal non-equilibrium carriers, owing to the serious non-equilibrium transport;(ii) a higher T_A leads to a larger ratio of input power turning into heat generation in the device region at the same operating voltages;(iii) SHE can lead to serious degradation in the carrier transport, which will increase when T_A increases;(iv) the current degradation can be 8.9% when V_(ds) = 0.7 V, V_(gs) = 1 V and TA = 400 K;(v) device thermal resistance(R_(th)) increases with increasing of T_A, which is seriously impacted by the non-equilibrium transport. Over the optimized 2%Cu-NiMgAlO catalyst, ethanol conversion and n-butanol selectivity were enhanced to 30.0% and 64.2%, respectively, in 200 h time on stream at 523 K. According to physicochemical characterizations and theoretical calculations, the key role of multiple active sites in this reaction was extensively investigated. The plate-like structure of hydrotalcite was maintained over 2%Cu-NiMgAlO catalysts, with an average Ni particle size of ca. 5.4 nm. The presence of Cu species created CuNi alloy sites and Lewis acid-base pairs, and increased hydrogen transfer and condensation reactions, resulting in elevated ethanol conversion and n-butanol selectivity.
