| 1 | Combined effects of cadmium and fluoranthene on germination, growth and photosynthesis of soybean seedlings显示文摘The single and combinational effects of cadmium (Cd) and fluoranthene (FLT) on germination, growth and photosynthesis of soybean seedlings were investigated. Exposure to 5, 10, or 15 mg Cd/L or 1, 5, or 10 mg FLT/L individually or in combination significantly decreased germination vigor (3 days) and final germination rate of soybean seeds, except at 1 and 5 mg FLT/L. The results of two-way ANOVA analysis and the Bliss independence model showed that at lower concentrations of FLT (1 mg/L), the interaction between Cd and FLT on germination was antagonistic, whereas the interaction was synergistic when the concentration of FLT was 5 or 10 mg/L and the concentration of Cd was 15 mg/L. Growth, expressed as dry weight, length of shoot and root, leaf area, and photosynthesis, expressed as net photosynthetic rate, intercellular CO2 concentration, chlorophyll contents and fluorescence of soybean seedlings were also reduced by exposure to 5 or 10 mg Cd/L or 1 or 5 mg FLT/L, singly or jointly. | 3 | Application study on the first cable-stayed bridge with CFRP cables in China显示文摘In order to push forward the development of CFRP cable-stayed bridge and accumulate experiences, the study on the application of the first cable-stayed bridge with CFRP cables in China was carried out. The design essentials of main components of the bridge were introduced and its integral performances, including static properties, dynamic properties and seismic response were analyzed using finite element method. A new bond-type anchorage was developed and the processes of fabricating and installing CFRP cables were elaborated. Based on the results of construction simulation, a tension scheme for bridge was propound. During constructing, the stresses and displacement of girder and pylon, as well as the forces and stresses of cables, were tested. The results indicate that all sections of the bridge could meet the requirements of the ultimate bearing capacity and normal service; the performance of the anchorage is good and the stresses in each cable system are similar; the tested values accord well with the calculated values. Further, creep deformation of the resin in anchorages under service load is not obvious. | 4 | Environmental pollution by persistent toxic substances and health risk in an industrial area of China显示文摘Soil is an important environmental medium that is closely associated with humans and their health.Despite this,very few studies have measured toxicants in soils,and associated them with health risks in humans.An assessment of health effects from exposure to contaminants in soils surrounding industrial areas of chemical production and storage is important.This article aims at determining pollution characteristics of persistent toxic substances (PTS) in an industrial area in China to unravel the relationship between soil pollution by PTS and human health.One hundred and five soil samples were collected and 742 questionnaires were handed out to residents living in and around an industrial area around Bohai Bay,Tianjin in Northern China.Concentrations of organochlorine pesticides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were determined in soil.Mann-Whitney U and binary multivariate non-conditional logistic regression models were employed to analyze the relationship between health indicators of local residents and contaminant levels.Odds ratio (OR) and a 95% confidence interval (CI) for health incidences were also calculated.The average concentrations of DDT (73.9 ng/g),HCH (654 ng/g) and PAHs (1225 ng/g) were relatively high in the industrial area.Residents living in the chemical industry parks were exposed to a higher levels of PTS than those living outside the chemical industry parks.This exposure was associated with a higher risk of breast cancer (OR 1.87,95% CI 0.12-30.06),stomach cancer (OR 1.87,95% CI 0.26-13.41),dermatitis (OR 1.72,95% CI 1.05-2.80),gastroenteritis (OR 1.59,95% CI 0.94-2.68),and pneumonia (OR 1.05,95% CI 0.58-1.89). | Jing Li Yonglong Lu Yajuan Shi Tieyu Wang Guang Wang Wei Luo Wentao Jiao Chunli Chen Feng Yan | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8: | 3 |

This paper puts forward a bilingual dictionary based sentence alignment method for Chinese English parallel corpus, which differs from previous length based algorithm in its knowledge-rich approach. | 6 | Mixing of Enriched Lithospheric Mantle-Derived and Crustal Magmas: Evidence from the Habo Cenozoic Porphyry in Western Yunnan显示文摘New zircon U–Pb ages, whole-rock geochemistry and zircon Hf isotopes from the Habo porphyry Western Yunnan, China, were determined to provide constraints on the timing of uplift of the Eastern Tibetan Plateau. The intrusive rocks consist of shoshonitic porphyry(syenite porphyry and monzonite porphyry). Zircon laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(LA-ICPMS) U–Pb dating indicates coeval emplacement ages of ~35 Ma. The porphyries have alkaline affinities, enrichment in large ion lithophile elements(LILEs) and light rare earth elements(LREEs)(e.g., Rb, Th, U, Pb), with depletion of high field strength elements(HFSEs)(e.g., Nb, Ti, Ta) and weak Eu anomalies. They display uniform Lu–Hf isotopic compositions with negative zircon εHf(t) values ranging from-3.9 to-0.6. The chemical characteristics of the syenite porphyries indicated that they most likely originated from the lower crust, with mantle-derived material involved in their generation. Geochemically, the monzonite porphyries are similar to the syenite porphyries; however, the lower MgO contents suggest that they were produced by different degrees of partial melting of the same lower crust source. | 7 | miR-7/TGF-β2 axis sustains acidic tumor microenvironment-induced lung cancer metastasis显示文摘Acidosis,regardless of hypoxia involvement,is recognized as a chronic and harsh tumor microenvironment(TME)that educates malignant cells to thrive and metastasize.Although overwhelming evidence supports an acidic environment as a driver or ubiquitous hallmark of cancer progression,the unrevealed core mechanisms underlying the direct effect of acidification on tumorigenesis have hindered the discovery of novel therapeutic targets and clinical therapy.Here,chemical-induced and transgenic mouse models for colon,liver and lung cancer were established,respectively.miR-7 and TGF-β2 expressions were examined in clinical tissues(n=184).RNA-seq,miRNA-seq,proteomics,biosynthesis analyses and functional studies were performed to validate the mechanisms involved in the acidic TME-induced lung cancer metastasis.Our data show that lung cancer is sensitive to the increased acidification of TME,and acidic TME-induced lung cancer metastasis via inhibition of miR-7-5 p.TGF-β2 is a direct target of miR-7-5 p.The reduced expression of miR-7-5 p subsequently increases the expression of TGF-β2 which enhances the metastatic potential of the lung cancer.Indeed,overexpression of miR-7-5 p reduces the acidic p H-enhanced lung cancer metastasis.Furthermore,the human lung tumor samples also show a reduced miR-7-5 p expression but an elevated level of activated TGF-β2;the expressions of both miR-7-5 p and TGF-β2 are correlated with patients’survival.We are the first to identify the role of the miR-7/TGF-β2 axis in acidic p H-enhanced lung cancer metastasis.Our study not only delineates how acidification directly affects tumorigenesis,but also suggests miR-7 is a novel reliable biomarker for acidic TME and a novel therapeutic target for non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)treatment.Our study opens an avenue to explore the p H-sensitive subcellular components as novel therapeutic targets for cancer treatment. | Tao Su Suchao Huang Yanmin Zhang Yajuan Guo Shuwei Zhang Jiaji Guan Mingjing Meng Linxin Liu Caiyan Wang Dihua Yu Hiu-Yee Kwan Zhiying Huang Qiuju Huang Elaine Lai-Han Leung Ming Hu Ying Wang Zhongqiu Liu Linlin Lu | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2: | 2 |
| 8 | Early changes to the extracellular space in the hippocampus under simulated microgravity conditions显示文摘The smooth transportation of substances through the brain extracellular space(ECS)is crucial to maintaining brain function;however,the way this occurs under simulated microgravity remains unclear.In this study,tracer-based magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and DECS-mapping techniques were used to image the drainage of brain interstitial fluid(ISF)from the ECS of the hippocampus in a tail-suspended hindlimb-unloading rat model at day 3(HU-3)and 7(HU-7).The results indicated that drainage of the ISF was accelerated in the HU-3 group but slowed markedly in the HU-7 group.The tortuosity of the ECS decreased in the HU-3 group but increased in the HU-7 group,while the volume fraction of the ECS increased in both groups.The diffusion rate within the ECS increased in the HU-3 group and decreased in the HU-7 group.The alterations to ISF drainage and diffusion in the ECS were recoverable in the HU-3 group,but neither parameter was restored in the HU-7 group.Our findings suggest that early changes to the hippocampal ECS and ISF drainage under simulated microgravity can be detected by tracer-based MRI,providing a new perspective for studying microgravity-induced nano-scale structure abnormities and developing neuroprotective approaches involving the brain ECS. | Yajuan Gao Hongbin Han Jichen Du Qingyuan He Yanxing Jia Junhao Yan Hui Dai Bin Cui Jing Yang Xunbin Wei Liu Yang Rui Wang Ren Long Qiushi Ren Xing Yang Jiabin Lu | 2022 | Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,3: | 2 |

| 11 | Geochemistry and Geochronology of the Cenozoic Zhalaga Granitoids of the Yulong Alkali-rich Porphyry Belt in Eastern Tibet(Xizang), SW China: Petrogenesis and Tectonic Implications显示文摘Large-scale Cenozoic magmatic rocks from the interplay between the Indian and Eurasian plate are exposed in the Yulong porphyry copper belt in the northern Jinshajiang-Ailaoshan domain.Alkali-rich magmas along the Yulong porphyry copper belt can reveal the tectono-magmatic processes in the Sanjiang region.In this study,we present new zircon U-Pb-Hf isotopes and whole rock geochemistry of Cenozoic granitoids from the Zhalaga area in the northern Yulong porphyry copper belt.The Zircon U-Pb dating results show that the Zhalaga granitic porphyry crystallized at ca.42-38 Ma.These porphyry deposits are depleted in Nb,Ta,Sr,and Ti enriched in alkaline and rare earth elements(REEs),and exhibit high zircon saturation temperatures,that strongly indicate A-type affinity.These data and the generally positiveεHf(t)values(2.0-4.5)suggest the magmas originated from a hybrid of partial melting of subduction-modified lithospheric mantle,possibly triggered by upwelling of the asthenospheric mantle.Geochronological and geochemical data of the current and previous studies distinguish three magmatic phases during the Cenozoic in the Jinshajiang-Ailaoshan region:(1)ca.62-48 Ma;(2)ca.44-30 Ma;and(3)ca.28-16 Ma.The strong collision between the Indian and Eurasian plates produced relatively fast convergence rates during the first episode(ca.62-48 Ma),whereas the subsequent right-lateral strike-slip faulting in the Jinshajiang fault zone initiated at ca.43 Ma is associated with the relatively low India-Eurasia convergence rates during ca.44-30 Ma.These significantly impacted the nature and spatial distribution of the magmatism and the large-scale metallogeny during the Cenozoic in the Sanjiang region.We suggest that the Zhalaga alkali-rich magmas occurred in a transition period from involving soft to hard collisional settings.This remarkable example demonstrates that alkali-rich magmas with A-type affinity are also generated in an orogenic tectonic setting. | XU Chi YUAN Yajuan XIAO Yang GUO Feng XIA Bin LU Ye | 2020 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,6: | 1 |

| 15 | Effect of rain enrichment on soil respiration of Nitraria sphaerocarpa community in a hyperarid area显示文摘In order to analyze the effect of rain enrichment on soil respiration rate of a Nitraria sphaerocarpa community,we measured soil respiration rate in bare and vegetated areas in a hyperarid area(Dunhuang)during the growing season.Results show that rain enrichment can increase bare and vegetated soil respiration rates.The more rainfall enrichment,the greater the increment and the longer duration time effect for soil respiration rate.200%(16 mm)and 300%(24 mm)of rain enrichment can significantly increase bare soil respiration rates by 90%and 106%(P<0.01),respectively.By contrast,areas with 100%(8 mm),200%(16 mm)and 300%(24 mm)of rain enrichment can significantly increase shrub area respiration rates by 68%,157%and 205%(P<0.01),respectively.The response time of bare and vegetated soil respiration to rainfall enrichment is asynchronous.Response variable of soil respiration in vegetated soil is higher(118%)than in bare soil.There was significant positive correlation between soil respiration rate and soil water content during the growing season(P<0.01).For every 1 mm increment of precipitation,soil respiration rate increased by 0.01 and 0.04μmol/(m2·s),respectively in vegetated and bare soils. | DianJun Liu Bo Wu YongHua Li GuangHui Lin ShiPing Chen YaJuan Zhu Qi Lu Bin Yao | 2013 | Research in Cold and Arid Regions2013,5,6: | 1 |

| 20 | TMEM16A inhibits angiotensin Ⅱ-induced basilar artery smooth muscle cell migration in a WNK1-dependent manner显示文摘Vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC) migration plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of many cardiovascular diseases.We recently showed that TMEM16 A is involved in hypertensioninduced cerebrovascular remodeling.However,it is unclear whether this effect is related to the regulation of VSMC migration.Here,we investigated whether and how TMEM16 A contributes to migration in basilar artery smooth muscle cells(BASMCs).We observed that AngⅡ increased the migration of cultured BASMCs,which was markedly inhibited by overexpression of TMEM16 A.TMEM16 A overexpression inhibited AngⅡ-induced RhoA/ROCK2 activation,and myosin light chain phosphatase(MLCP)and myosin light chain(MLC20) phosphorylation.But AnsⅡ-induced myosin light chain kinase(MLCK)activation was not affected by TMEM16 A.Furthermore,a suppressed activation of integrinβ3/FAK pathway,determined by reduced integrinβ3 expression,FAK phosphorylation and F-actin rearrangement,was observed in TMEM16 A-overexpressing BASMCs upon AngⅡ stimulation.Contrary to the results of TMEM16 A overexpression,silencing of TMEM16 A showed the opposite effects.These in vitro results were further demonstrated in vivo in basilar arteries from VSMC-specific TMEM10 A transgenic mice during AngⅡ-induced hypertension.Moreover,we observed that the inhibitory effect of TMEM16 A on BASMC migration was mediated by decreasing the activation of WNK1,a Cl^(-)-sensitive serine/threonine kinase.In conclusion,this study demonstrated that TMEM16 A suppressed AnsⅡ-induced BASMC migration,thus contributing to the protection against cerebrovascular remodeling during AngⅡ-infused hypertension.TMEM16 A may exert this effect by suppressing the RhoA/ROCK2/MLCP/MLC20 and integrinβ3/FAK signaling pathways via inhibiting WNK1.Our results suggest that TMEM16 A may serve as a novel therapeutic target for VSMC migration-related diseases,such as vascular remodeling. | Huaqing Zheng Xiaolong Li Xin Zeng Chengcui Huang Mingming Ma Xiaofei Lv Yajuan Zhang Lu Sun Guanlei Wang Yanhua Du Yongyuan Guan | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,12: | 1 |
