They are typically not as stable as dyes absorbing and emitting in the visible spectral range, as the result of a reduced HOMO-LUMO band-gap. Also, they are not as efficient fluorescence emitters due to accelerated internal conversion kinetics. | 7 | Effects of Cracks on the Mass Transfer of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell with High Performance Membrane Electrode Assembly显示文摘A two-dimensional geometric model is developed for a polymer electrolyte based on the liquid water penetration mechanism in the membrane electrode assemblies under the action of capillary pressure.The effects of the diameter,number,and distribution of cracks in the micro-pore layers(MPLs)of the modeled MEA on the performance of the PEMFC are simulated to investigate the influence of mass transfer across the membrane.The results indicate that liquid water in the catalyst layer(CL)of the MEA can be discharged to gas channels through the cracks in MEA under the action of capillary pressure,thereby alleviating the flooding in the CL and enhancing the diffusion of oxygen to the CL.When the proportion of the total area of cracks in the active area of the MEA was 8%-12%,crack diameter was 20-30μm,and cracks were distributed uniformly.MEAs with and without cracks were prepared,fuel cells were assembled,and their performance was measured.The effects of cracks on mass transfer were then verified.This study helps prepare MEAs with controllable cracks. | 施金蓉 詹志刚 ZHANG Di YU Yuan YANG Xiaoxiang HE Luyan PAN Mu | 2021 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2021,36,3: | 1 |

| 13 | Self-adaptive Algorithm for Simulating Sand Painting in Real-Time显示文摘Sand painting is a form of combination of arts and modern aesthetic, which relies on profound cultural heritage and cultural connotation. To provide the public and artists with an opportunity to better understand sand painting and make art creations surprisingly, this paper proposes a self-adaptive algorithm to simulate sand painting in a real-time way. Our simulation system exploits the height field to simulate sand flow to achieve a fast even real-time target. Seven frequently-used styles of painting techniques are elaborately defined and successfully simulated in our system, including pouring,seeping, dotting, stroking, sweeping, multi-stroking, and pinching. The procedure of sand flow is mainly consist of two key parts: sand accumulation and collapse. The direction field is introduced into the system to control a similar appearance of a normal distribution, which will be of benefit to sand accumulation algorithm. A selfadaptive approach is taken advantage of into sand collapse algorithm to present certain appearances with various details. A color factor is also considered for realistic simulation in this paper in two ways: one is the background color of sand table/canvas and the other is the natural color of sand particles themselves. | 16 | External control of qubit-photon interaction and multi-qubit reset in a dissipative quantum network显示文摘A quantum network is a promising quantum many-body system because of its tailored geometry and controllable interaction. Here,we propose an external control scheme for the qubit-photon interaction and multiqubit reset in a dissipative quantum network,which comprises superconducting circuit chains with microwave drives and filter-filter couplings. The traditional multiqubit reset of the quantum network requires physically disconnected qubits to prevent their entanglement. However, we use an original effect of dissipation, i.e., consuming the entanglement generated by qubits’ interaction, to achieve an external control of the multiqubit reset in an always-connected superconducting circuit. The reset time is independent of the number of qubits in the quantum network. | 17 | Cell division factor ZapE regulates Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation by impacting the pqs quorum sensing system显示文摘Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the leading nosocomial pathogens that causes both severe acute and chronic infections.The strong capacity of P.aeruginosa to form biofilms can dramatically increase its antibiotic resistance and lead to treatment failure.The biofilm resident bacterial cells display distinct gene expression profiles and phenotypes compared to their free-living counterparts.Elucidating the genetic determinants of biofilm formation is crucial for the development of antibiofilm drugs.In this study,a highthroughput transposon-insertion site sequencing(Tn-seq)approach was employed to identify novel P.aeruginosa biofilm genetic determinants.When analyzing the novel biofilm regulatory genes,we found that the cell division factor ZapE(PA4438)controls the P.aeruginosa pqs quorum sensing system.The ΔzapE mutant lost fitness against the wild-type PAO1 strain in biofilms and its production of 2-heptyl-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-quinolone(PQS)had been reduced.Further biochemical analysis showed that ZapE interacts with PqsH,which encodes the synthase that converts 2-heptyl-4-quinolone(HHQ)to PQS.In addition,site-directed mutagenesis of the ATPase active site of ZapE(K72A)abolished the positive regulation of ZapE on PQS signaling.As ZapE is highly conserved among the Pseudomonas group,our study suggests that it is a potential drug target for the control of Pseudomonas infections. | Xi Liu Minlu Jia Jing Wang Hang Cheng Zhao Cai Zhaoxiao Yu Yang Liu Luyan ZMa Lianhui Zhang Yingdan Zhang Liang Yang | 2023 | mLife2023,2,1: | 0 |
| 18 | Effect of the withdrawal rate on the microstructure and thermal durability of a third-generation single crystal superalloy显示文摘Single crystal Ni-based superalloys are the typical structural materials for high-pressure turbine blades,and their microstructure is critical in determining their mechanical properties.The withdrawal rate is a key parameter affecting the microstructure during the single crystal growth process.In the present work the effect of the withdrawal rate on the microstructure of a third-generation single crystal superalloy containing 6.8 wt%Re has been investigated,and the creep resistance of the alloy determined.The results showed that increased withdrawal rate refined the dendritic structure,reduced dendritic arm spacing,promoted the growth of secondary tertiary dendrites and decreased solidification segregation with a reduced size ofγ’phase.The porosity density of the ascast alloy first decreased and then increased with the withdrawal rate,while the minimum porosity densityoccurred when the alloy was under the solidification condition of withdrawal rate of 4.5 mm/min.The maximum creep rupture life of 326.4 h of the heat-treated alloys under the test condition of 1100℃/140 MPa also appeared at the alloys under the withdrawal rates of 4.5 mm/min.It is believed that the minimum porosity density and reduced size of theγ’phase may be the main reasons for the enhanced creep rupture life of the alloys with withdrawal rates of 4.5 mm/min.This investigation provides theoretical support and a practical basis for the development of third-generation single crystal superalloys. | Yunsong Zhao Mai Zhang Luyan Yang Yuanyuan Guo Jian Zhang Hui Lu Yanhui Chen Dingzhong Tang | 2021 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2021,31,3: | 0 |
| 19 | Effect of abruptly changing withdrawal rate on solidification microstructure in directionally solidified Al-4.5wt%Cu alloy显示文摘Al-4.5wt.%Cu alloy has been directionally solidified at constant and abruptly changing withdrawal rates, respectively. The effects of the withdrawal rate on solidification microstructure, primary dendrite arm spacing(PDAS) and liquid solute distribution in front of the solid-liquid interface were investigated. The experimental results for the PDAS at a constant withdrawal rate agree well with the values calculated by the Hunt, Trivedi and Hunt-Lu models. At an abrupt change in the withdrawal rate, the maximum to minimum ratio of the PDAS at a given solidification parameter, i.e. λ1max/λ1min, is more than 2, and the PDAS values are remarkably history-dependent.
