| 1 | SHP2 inhibition triggers anti-tumor immunity and synergizes with PD-1 blockade显示文摘Tyrosine phosphatase SHP2 is a promising drug target in cancer immunotherapy due to its bidirectional role in both tumor growth promotion and T-cell inactivation. Its allosteric inhibitor SHP099 is known to inhibit cancer cell growth both in vitro and in vivo. However, whether SHP099-mediated SHP2 inhibition retards tumor growth in vivo via anti-tumor immunity remains elusive. To address this, a CT-26 colon cancer xenograft model was established in mice since this cell line is insensitive to SHP099.Consequently, SHP099 minimally affected CT-26 tumor growth in immuno-deficient nude mice, but significantly decreased the tumor burden in CT-26 tumor-bearing mice with intact immune system.SHP099 augmented anti-tumor immunity, as shown by the elevated proportion of CD8tIFN-γtT cells and the upregulation of cytotoxic T-cell related genes including Granzyme B andPerforin, which decreased the tumor load. In addition, tumor growth in mice with SHP2-deficient T-cells was markedly slowed down because of enhanced anti-tumor responses. Finally, the combination of SHP099 and antiPD-1 antibody showed a higher therapeutic efficacy than either monotherapy in controlling tumor growthin two colon cancer xenograft models, indicating that these agents complement each other. | 2 | Stratigraphy of the Triassic-Jurassic Boundary Successions of the Southern Margin of the Junggar Basin,Northwestern China显示文摘The Triassic-Jurassic(Tr-J) boundary marks a major extinction event,which(~200 Ma) resulted in global extinctions of fauna and flora both in the marine and terrestrial realms.There prevail great challenges in determining the exact location of the terrestrial Tr-J boundary,because of endemism of taxa and the scarcity of fossils in terrestrial settings leading to difficulties in linking marine and terrestrial sedimentary successions.Investigation based on palynology and bivalves has been carried out over a 1113 m thick section,which is subdivided into 132 beds,along the Haojiagou valley on the southern margin of the Junggar Basin of the northern Xinjiang,northwestern China.The terrestrial Lower Jurassic is conformably resting on the Upper Triassic strata.The Upper Triassic covers the Huangshanjie Formation overlaid by the Haojiagou Formation,while the Lower Jurassic comprises the Badaowan Formation followed by the Sangonghe Formation.Fifty six pollen and spore taxa and one algal taxon were identified from the sediments.Based on the key-species and abundance of spores and pollen,three zones were erected:the Late Triassic(Rhaetian) Aratrisporites-Alisporites Assemblage,the Early Jurassic(Hettangian) Perinopollenites-Pinuspollenites Assemblage,and the Sinemurian Perinopollenites-Cycadopites Assemblage.The Tr-J boundary is placed between bed 44 and 45 coincident with the boundary between the Haojiagou and Badaowan formations.Beds with Ferganoconcha(?),Unio-Ferganoconcha and Waagenoperna-Yananoconcha bivalve assemblages are recognized.The Ferganoconcha(?) bed is limited to the upper Haojiagou Formation, Unio-Ferganoconcha and Waagenoperna-Yananoconcha assemblages are present in the middle and upper members of the Badaowan Formation.The sedimentary succession is interpreted as terrestrial with two mainly lake deposit intervals within Haojiagou and Badaowan formations,yielding fresh water algae and bivalves.However,the presence of brackish water algae Tasmanites and the marine-littoral facies bivalve Waagenoperna from the Badaowan Formation indicate that the Junggar Basin was influenced by sea water caused by transgressions from the northern Tethys,during the Sinemurian. | SHA Jingeng Vivi VAJDA PAN Yanhong Linda LARSSON YAO Xiaogang ZHANG Xiaolin WANG Yaqiong CHENG Xiansheng JIANG Baoyu DENG Shenghui CHEN Siwei PENG Bo | 2011 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2011,85,2: | 7 |

| 5 | Study protocol of the Asian XELIRI ProjecT(AXEPT):a multinational,randomized,non-inferiority,phase Ⅲ trial of second-line chemotherapy for metastatic colorectal cancer, comparing the eicacy and safety of XELIRI with or without bevacizumab versus FOLFIRI w显示文摘Background: Capecitabine and irinotecan combination therapy(XELIRI) has been examined at various dose levels to treat metastatic colorectal cancer(m CRC). Recently, in the Association of Medical Oncology of the German Cancer Society(AIO) 0604 trial, tri?weekly XELIRI plus bevacizumab, with reduced doses of irinotecan(200 mg/m^2 on day 1) and capecitabine(1600 mg/m^2 on days 1–14), repeated every 3 weeks, has shown favorable tolerability and eicacy which were comparable to those of capecitabine and oxaliplatin(XELOX) plus bevacizumab. The doses of capecit?abine and irinotecan in the AIO trial are considered optimal. In a phase I/II study, XELIRI plus bevacizumab(BIX) as second?line chemotherapy was well tolerated and had promising eicacy in Japanese patients.Methods: The Asian XELIRI Projec T(AXEPT) is an East Asian collaborative, open?labelled, randomized, phase Ⅲ clinical trial which was designed to demonstrate the non?inferiority of XELIRI with or without bevacizumab versus standard FOLFIRI(5?fluorouracil, leucovorin, and irinotecan combination) with or without bevacizumab as second?line chemo?therapy for patients with m CRC. Patients with 20 years of age or older, histologically conirmed m CRC, Eastern Coop?erative Oncology Group performance status 0–2, adequate organ function, and disease progression or intolerance of the irst?line regimen will be eligible. Patients will be randomized(1:1) to receive standard FOLFIRI with or with?out bevacizumab(5 mg/kg on day 1), repeated every 2 weeks(FOLIRI arm) or XELIRI with or without bevacizumab(7.5 mg/kg on day 1), repeated every 3 weeks(XELIRI arm). | 6 | Analysis of Chang’e-5 lunar core drilling process显示文摘Chang’e-5 explorer successfully acquired lunar regolith core samples from depths of greater than 1 m of lunar surface.This study analyzed the lunar core drilling process based on the telemetry data,image information,and returned samples to optimize the sampling device design and enhance the understanding of the lunar regolith.In particular,a prediction method for the projected drilling path and local terrain fitting of drilling dip angle was proposed based on the flight events recorded during the core drilling process and the image information acquired before,during,and after sampling.The results revealed that the drilling dip angle of Chang’e-5 was approximately2.3.,and the deviation of the drilling length and depth was less than 2 mm.For continuous drilling,a fusion method based on telemetry data and image information was applied to determine the demarcation point of drilling with and without the lunar soil.The position of the demarcation point implied that the drilling point remained at approximately 6 mm loose soil,thereby lagging the action of the force response.Additionally,a characteristic parameter comparison method was proposed for the lunar and ground drilling to analyze the status of the lunar soil.Furthermore,the analysis results revealed that the majority of the Chang’e-5 drilling samples were derived from 0–73.8 cm below the lunar surface and few samples were extracted below 73.8 cm,as the drilling encountered several rocky regions.Moreover,the drilling point exhibited two prominent stratification variations at~28.7 cm and~70 cm below the lunar surface.Ultimately,the preliminary relationship between sample dissected position in soft tube and drilling displacement was analyzed.The segmented estimation results can support research on subsurface lunar soil. | Yanhong ZHENG Mengfei YANG Xiangjin DENG Shengyi JIN Jing PENG Yan SU Zheng GU Liping CHEN Yong PANG Nai ZHANG | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,2: | 3 |

| 8 | Efficacy and safety of chemotherapy combined with bevacizumab in Chinese patients with metastatic colorectal cancer:A prospective,multicenter,observational,non-interventional phaseⅣtrial显示文摘Objective:Bevacizumab has an important and evolving role in improving outcomes in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)worldwide and was approved in China in 2010.However,there are limited real-world data on the efficacy and safety of chemotherapy regimens combined with bevacizumab in Chinese patients with mCRC.This observational,phase IV trial study aimed to obtain more experience on the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab combined with chemotherapy in Chinese mCRC patients.Methods:Between September 2013 and November 2016,patients with histologically confirmed mCRC were enrolled in a prospective,multicenter,observational,non-interventional phase IV trial at 26 centers across China.Eligible patients received different chemotherapeutic regimens combined with bevacizumab.The efficacy and safety data in the intention-to-treat study population were analyzed.Results:A total of 611 patients were included in the efficacy analysis.The median overall survival and median progression-free survival was 18.00 and 10.05 months,respectively.The objective response rate was 21.00%and disease control rate was 89.40%.In subgroup analyses,the survival differences were observed according to metastatic status,duration of treatment and elevation in blood pressure.A total of 613 patients were evaluable for safety assessments.And 569(92.82%)patients reported at least one adverse event(AE),and 151(24.63%)experienced grade 3 or higher AEs.The incidence of bevacizumab-associated AEs of special interest was reported in 31(5.06%)patients with hypertension(n=12),abscesses and fistulae(n=7),bleeding(n=6),proteinuria(n=3),gastrointestinal perforation(n=2)and venous thrombotic events(n=1).Conclusions:This observational phase IV trial broadens our experience and knowledge of bevacizumab in the Chinese population and provides a good indication of its overall efficacy and safety.Bevacizumab in combination with chemotherapy offers clinical benefits to Chinese patients with mCRC and has an acceptable and manageable safety profile. | Fenghua Wang Guanghai Dai Yanhong Deng Yong Tang Wei Wang Zuoxing Niu Feng Bi Liangjun Zhu Zengqing Guo Jin Yan Bing Hu Min Tao Shujun Yang Suzhan Zhang Lu Wen Ruihua Xu | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4: | 2 |
| 9 | Genome-wide identification of quantitative trait loci for important plant and flower traits in petunia using a high-density linkage map and an interspecific recombinant inbred population derived from Petunia integrifolia and P.axillaris显示文摘Petunia is a very important flower in the global floriculture industry and has played a critical role as a model in plant genetic studies.Owing to limited genetic variability in commercial germplasm,development of novel petunia phenotypes and new varieties has become increasingly difficult.To enrich petunia germplasm and facilitate genetic improvement,it is important to explore genetic variation in progenitor species that may contain highly valuable genes/alleles.In this study,an interspecific recombinant inbred population(168 recombinant inbreds)derived from Petunia integrifolia×P.axillaris were phenotyped for days to anthesis(DTA),flower count(Flower_C),flower diameter(Flower_D),flower length(Flower_L),plant height(Plant_H),plant spread(Plant_S),and plant size(Plant_Z)in 2014 and 2015.Transgressive segregation was observed for all traits in both years.The broad-sense heritability on a 2-year basis varied from 0.38(Flower_C)to 0.82(Flower_L).Ten QTL were consistently identified in both years and by two mapping strategies[multiple QTL mapping(MQM)in MapQTL and inclusive composite interval mapping(ICIM)in IciMapping].Major QTL explained up to 30.2,35.5,and 47.1%of the total phenotypic variation for Plant_S,Flower_L,and Flower_D,respectively.These findings should be of significant values for introgression of desirable genes from wild petunias into commercial varieties and future genetic improvement of this important flower. | Zhe Cao Yufang Guo Qian Yang Yanhong He Mohammed I.Fetouh Ryan M.Warner Zhanao Deng | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 1 |
| 10 | Diagnostic efficacy of whole-body diffusion-weighted imaging in the detection of tumour recurrence and metastasis by comparison with 18F-2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose positron emission tomography or computed tomography in patients with gastrointestinal cancer显示文摘Objective:The primary aim of this study was to assess the efficacy of whole-body diffusion-weighted imaging(WB-DWI)in detecting tumour recurrence and metastasis of gastrointestinal cancers by comparison with 18F-2-fluoro-2-deoxy-Dglucose positron emission tomography or computed tomography(18F-FDG-PET/CT).A secondary aim was to evaluate the change of apparent diffusion coefficient(ADC)value between metastases and normal tissues.Methods:Twenty-eight previously confirmed gastrointestinal cancer patients with suspected tumour recurrence or metastasis were recruited.WB-DWI and PET/CT images were evaluated by two radiologists and a nuclear medicine physician.Agreement between WB-DWI and PET/CT for detective efficacy was compared using kappa statistics.Additionally,diagnostic accuracy,sensitivity,specificity,negative predictive value(NPV),and positive predictive value(PPV)were also statistically analysed.ADC values between metastatic and normal tissues were compared.Results:There was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05)in the overall diagnostic performances of PET/CT(accuracy 98.9%;sensitivity 95.2%;specificity 99.8%;PPV 98.9%;NPV 98.9%)and WB-DWI(accuracy 95.9%;sensitivity 81.7%;specificity 99.1%;PPV 95.0%;NPV 96.1%).WB-DWI showed agreement with PET/CT(j=0.877)for detecting recurrence and distant metastases.A statistically significant difference in ADC value was observed between tissues of normal healthy volunteers and metastases in lymph nodes,liver and bones(P<0.05).Conclusions:WB-DWI is reliable in detecting tumour recurrence and metastasis of colorectal cancer and offers the same diagnostic performance as 18F-PET/CT without ionizing radiation.The quantitative value of ADC provides extra information to determine cancer metastasis. | Jiaying Gong Wuteng Cao Zhanwen Zhang Yanhong Deng Liang Kang Pan Zhu Zhengjun Liu Zhiyang Zhou | 2015 | Gastroenterology Report2015,3,2: | 1 |
| 11 | Identification of immune cell infiltration landscape for predicting prognosis of colorectal cancer显示文摘Background:The tumor microenvironment plays an essential role in the therapeutic response to immunotherapy.It is necessary to identify immune cell infiltration(ICI)subtypes for evaluating prognosis and therapeutic benefits.This study aimed to evaluate the ICI score as an effective prognostic biomarker for immune response.Methods:The cell-type identification by estimating relative subsets of RNA transcripts and the estimation of stromal and immune cells in malignant tumors using expression methods were used to analyse ICI landscapes in 161 colorectal cancer(CRC)samples with patients’clinical and prognostic data,RNA sequencing data,and whole-exome sequencing data from the Sixth Affiliated Hospital,Sun Yat-sen University(Guangzhou,China).Statistical analysis and data processing were conducted to calculate ICI scores,and to analyse the prognosis of CRC patients with different ICI scores and other features.A similar analysis with RNA sequencing and clinical data of colon adenocarcinoma(COAD)samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database was conducted to confirm the correctness of the findings.Results:The high-ICI score group with a better prognosis(hazard ratio[HR],2.19;95%confidence interval[CI],1.03–4.64;logrank test,P=0.036)was characterized by the increased tumor mutational burden and interleukin-17(IL-17)signaling pathway.Significant differences in the prognosis and the expression levels of immune checkpoints and chemokine marker genes were found between the two ICI score groups.For COAD samples from TCGA,the results also showed a significant difference in patients’prognosis between the two ICI score groups(HR,1.72;95%CI,1.00–2.96;log-rank test,P=0.047).Conclusions:Tumor heterogeneity induced differences in identifying ICI subtypes of CRC patients.The ICI score may serve as an effective biomarker for predicting prognosis,help identify new therapeutic markers for CRC,and develop novel effective immune checkpoint blockade therapies. | Xueqian Wu Jianxia Li Yuanzhe Zhang Yi Cheng Zehua Wu Weixiang Zhan Yanhong Deng | 2023 | Gastroenterology Report2023,11,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Integration of early disease-resistance phenotyping, histological characterization, and transcriptome sequencing reveals insights into downy mildew resistance in impatiens显示文摘Downy mildew(DM),caused by obligate parasitic oomycetes,is a destructive disease for a wide range of crops worldwide.Recent outbreaks of impatiens downy mildew(IDM)in many countries have caused huge economic losses.A system to reveal plant–pathogen interactions in the early stage of infection and quickly assess resistance/susceptibility of plants to DM is desired.In this study,we established an early and rapid system to achieve these goals using impatiens as a model.Thirty-two cultivars of Impatiens walleriana and I.hawkeri were evaluated for their responses to IDM at cotyledon,first/second pair of true leaf,and mature plant stages.All I.walleriana cultivars were highly susceptible to IDM.While all I.hawkeri cultivars were resistant to IDM starting at the first true leaf stage,many(14/16)were susceptible to IDM at the cotyledon stage.Two cultivars showed resistance even at the cotyledon stage.Histological characterization showed that the resistance mechanism of the I.hawkeri cultivars resembles that in grapevine and type II resistance in sunflower.By integrating full-length transcriptome sequencing(Iso-Seq)and RNA-Seq,we constructed the first reference transcriptome for Impatiens comprised of 48,758 sequences with an N50 length of 2060 bp.Comparative transcriptome and qRT-PCR analyses revealed strong candidate genes for IDM resistance,including three resistance genes orthologous to the sunflower gene RGC203,a potential candidate associated with DM resistance.Our approach of integrating early disease-resistance phenotyping,histological characterization,and transcriptome analysis lay a solid foundation to improve DM resistance in impatiens and may provide a model for other crops. | Ze Peng Yanhong He Saroj Parajuli Qian You Weining Wang Krishna Bhattarai Aaron JPalmateer Zhanao Deng | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021,8,1: | 1 |

| 15 | Development prospects of metal-based two-dimensional nanomaterials in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘A lithium-sulfur(Li-S)system is an important candidate for future lithium-ion system due to its low cost and high specific theoretical capacity(1675 m Ah/g,2600 Wh/kg),which is greatly hindered by the poor conductivity of sulfur,large volume change and dissolution of lithium polysulfides.Two-dimensional(2D)materials with monolayers or few-layers usually have peculiar structures and physical/chemical properties,which can resolve the critical issues in Li-S batteries.Especially,the metal-based 2D nanomaterials,including ferrum,cobalt or other metal-based composites with various anions,can provide high conductivity,large surface area and abundant reaction sites for restraining the diffusion for lithium polysulfides.In this mini-review,we will present an overview of recent developments on metal-based 2D nanomaterials with various anions as the electrode materials for Li-S batteries.Since the main bottleneck for the Li-S system is the shuttle of polysulfides,emphasis is placed on the structure and components,physical/chemical interaction and interaction mechanisms of the 2D materials.Finally,the challenges and prospects of metal-based 2D nanomaterials for Li-S batteries are discussed and proposed. | Yuxue Mo Liling Liao Dongyang Li Rongwu Pan Yanhong Deng Yanliang Tan Haiqing Zhou | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,1: | 1 |

| 17 | Neoadjuvant therapy followed by local excision and two-stage total mesorectal excision:a new strategy for sphincter preservation in locally advanced ultra-low rectal cancer显示文摘Background:With the increased usage of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy,improved surgical technique and stapling devices,sphincter-preserving resection has become more frequent for patients with rectal cancer.However,as for locally advanced ultra-low rectal cancer,sphincter-preservation is still facing an enormous challenge.Objective:To introduce an NLT strategy of sphincter-preservation-neoadjuvant therapy(NT)followed by local excision(LE)and two-stage total mesorectal excision(TME)-into the treatment of locally advanced ultra-low rectal cancer(lesions with anal sphincter invasion).Methods:From October 2010 to October 2011,nine patients with locally advanced rectal cancer located less than 3 cm from the anal verge were treated by the NLT strategy.All patients had shown good clinical response to NT.The LE procedure was carried transanally 6-8 weeks after completion of the NT.TME was performed to dissect mesorectal lymph nodes 4-6 weeks after LE.Results:Of the nine patients,the lesion was assessed as T2 in two,T3 in five,and T4 in two before NT,and lymph node metastasis was detected in five patients.The median distance from the tumor to the anal verge was 2.5 cm(range:1-3 cm).The median follow-up was 27 months(range:24-34 months).No distant metastasis was detected.Only one patient(11.1%)developed local recurrence at 12 months post-operatively and then underwent abdomino-perineal resection.The remaining eight patients had preserved long-term continence and the median Wexner score at two years post-operation was 4(range:2-6).Conclusion:The new NLT strategy can achieve sphincter-preservation in some patients with ultra-low rectal cancer,with favorable oncological outcome and preservation of normal anal sphincter function. | Ting Wang Jianping Wang Yanhong Deng Xiaojian Wu Lei Wang | 2014 | Gastroenterology Report2014,2,1: | 1 |

| 20 | Digital chromoendoscopy utilization in clinical practice: A survey of gastroenterologists in Connecticut显示文摘AIM:To use a survey to characterize and identify potential barriers to the use of digital chromoendoscopy(DC)by practicing gastroenterologists.METHODS:An anonymous,internet-based survey was sent to gastroenterologists in Connecticut who were members of one of three national gastrointestinal organizations.The survey collected demographic information,frequency of DC use,types of procedures that the respondent performs,setting of practice(academic vs community),years out of training,amount of training in DC,desire to have DC training and perceived barriers to DC use.Responses were collected anonymously.The primary endpoint was the proportion of endoscopists utilizing DC.Associations between the various data collected were analyzed usingχ2 test.RESULTS:One hundred and twenty-four gastroenterologists(48%)of 261 who received the online survey responded.Seventy-eight percent of surveyed gastroenterologists have used DC during the performance of upper endoscopy and 81%with lower endoscopy.DC was used in more than half of procedures by only 14%of gastroenterologists during upper endoscopy and 12%during lower endoscopy.Twenty-three percent(upper)and 21%(lower)used DC more than one quarter of the time.DC was used for 10%or less of endoscopies by 60%(upper)and53%(lower)of respondents.Endoscopists reported lack of training as the leading deterrent to DC use with36%reporting it as their primary deterrent.Eighty-nine percent of endoscopists never received formal training in DC.Lack of time(30%of respondents),lack of evidence(24%)and lack of reimbursement(10%)were additional deterrents.There were no differences in DC use relative to academic vs community practice setting or years out of training.CONCLUSION:DC is used infrequently by most endoscopists,primarily due to a lack of training.Training opportunities should be expanded to meet the interest expressed by the majority of endoscopists. | Karl M Langberg Neil D Parikh Yanhong Deng Maria Ciarlegio Loren Laine Harry R Aslanian | 2016 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics2016,7,2: | 0 |
