1Trends in cancer mortality in China from 2004 to 2018:A nationwide longitudinal study显示文摘Background:The long-term trend in cancer death in a rapidly developing country provides information for cancer prophylaxis.Here,we aimed to identify the trends in cancer mortality in China during the 2004-2018 period.Methods:Using raw data from the national mortality surveillance system of China,we assessed the mortalities of all cancer and site-specific cancers during the 2004-2018 period.The participants were divided into three age groups:≥65 years,40-64 years,and≤39 years.Changing trends in cancer death by gender,residency,and tumor location were estimated using fitting joinpoint models to log-transformed crude mortality rates(CMRs)and age-standardizedmortality rates(ASMRs).Results:Cancer death accounted for 24% of all-cause of death in China during 2014-2018.The CMR of all cancer was 150.0 per 100,000 persons.Cancer was the leading cause of death in the population<65 years.The six major cancer types(lung/bronchus cancer,liver cancer,stomach cancer,esophagus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer)accounted for 75.85% of all cancer deaths.The CMR of all cancer increased while the ASMR decreased during 2014-2018(P<0.001).Lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer were the leading causes of cancer death in the population<65 years,accounting for 45.31%(CMR)and 44.35%(ASMR)of all cancer death,respectively.The ASMR of liver cancer was higher in the 40-64 years population than in the≥65 years population,in contrast to the other five major cancers.The ASMRs of liver cancer,stomach cancer,and esophagus cancer decreased although they were higher in rural residents than in urban residents;the ASMRs of lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents although they were higher in urban residents than in rural residents during 2014-2018.Conclusion:Although the ASMR of all cancer decreased in China during 2004-2018,lung/bronchus cancer and liver cancer remained the leading causes of cancer-related premature death.Lung/bronchus cancer,colorectal cancer,and pancreas cancer increased in rural residents.Dongming Jiang Lijuan Zhang Wenbin Liu Yibo Ding Jianhua Yin Rongbing Ren Qi Li Yifan Chen Jiaying Shen Xiaojie Tan Hongwei Zhang Guangwen Cao 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,10:23
2Spatial distribution and pollution assessment of mercury in sediments of Lake Taihu,China显示文摘Spatial distribution patterns of total mercury (THg) in 36 surficial sediment samples representing five regions of Lake Taihu were assessed using the ArcGis geostatistical analyst module. The pollution levels of THg were also evaluated from the same five lake regions. Concentrations of THg were in a ranged of 23-168 ng/g (mean 55 ng/g) in surfical sediments, which was significantly higher than those established baseline levels of the lake. Results of THg indicated that the northern region exhibited notably higher values, the bay regions showed elevated values relative to open areas, and the lakeside regions were higher than those observed in the central area. Lake Taihu suffered moderate to high Hg pollution, and expressed clear Hg enrichment status according to monomial pollution index I geo and human activity factors. The concentrations of THg in the surficial sediments of Lake Taihu showed moderate-strong variation (coefficient of variation 52%). 3Mobile Edge Communications, Computing, and Caching(MEC3) Technology in the Maritime Communication Network显示文摘With the increasing maritime activities and the rapidly developing maritime economy, the fifth-generation(5G) mobile communication system is expected to be deployed at the ocean. New technologies need to be explored to meet the requirements of ultra-reliable and low latency communications(URLLC) in the maritime communication network(MCN). Mobile edge computing(MEC) can achieve high energy efficiency in MCN at the cost of suffering from high control plane latency and low reliability. In terms of this issue, the mobile edge communications, computing, and caching(MEC3) technology is proposed to sink mobile computing, network control, and storage to the edge of the network. New methods that enable resource-efficient configurations and reduce redundant data transmissions can enable the reliable implementation of computing-intension and latency-sensitive applications. The key technologies of MEC3 to enable URLLC are analyzed and optimized in MCN. The best response-based offloading algorithm(BROA) is adopted to optimize task offloading. 4Effect of Jinhua Qinggan granules on novel coronavirus pneumonia in patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Jinhua Qinggan granules in the treatment of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19).METHODS: Eighty cases of COVID-19 diagnosed from January 24 to February 17, 2020 in Beijing YouAn Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. All 80 patients received symptomatic and supportive treatment.Among them, 44 patients took Jinhua Qinggan granules(treatment group) within 24 h of admission, and the remaining 36 patients either did not take Jinhua Qinggan granules or took the granules for less than 2 d(control group). In this study, we compared the duration of viral nucleic acid detection and of pneumonia absorption improvement between the two groups.RESULTS: Among the 80 cases, 37 were male(46%)and 43 were female(54%) with age ranging from15 to 86 years, with an average age of 51.19 years.The average duration of viral nucleic acid detection was(7 ± 4) d in the Jinhua Qinggan administration group and(10 ± 4) d for the control group(P =0.010), following which, nucleic acid tests were negative. Of the two groups, 56.82% in the Jinhua Qinggan treatment group and 27.78% in the control group demonstrated negative nucleic acid tests within 7 d or less. The 7-day viral clearance rate was significantly higher in the Jinhua Qinggan group compared with the control group(P = 0.009). Furthermore, the pneumonia recovery time indicated by chest CT was(8 ± 4) d in the Jinhua Qinggan group, which was significantly shorter than the control group, at(10 ± 5) d(P = 0.021). 5Effects of pH and soil texture on the adsorption and transport of Cd in soils显示文摘To better understand the adsorption and transport of Cd2+ in soils, column experiments were conducted with various soils and inflow solutions with different pH values. Breakthrough curves (BTCs) of the column tests were fitted using both the equilibrium and non-equilibrium models installed in the program of CXTFIT. Results showed that the equilibrium model fitted most of BTCs reasonably well. Values of the retardation factor (R) and the distribution coefficient (kd) for Cd2+ adsorption and transport increased with increasing pH values of the inflow solution and of the soil. However, the clay content was not a key factor to affect R and kd for Cd2+ adsorption and transport. 6Hydrogeochemical and mineralogical characteristics related to heavy metal attenuation in a stream polluted by acid mine drainage:A case study in Dabaoshan Mine,China显示文摘Dabaoshan Mine,the largest mine in south China,has been developed since the 1970s.Acid mine drainage (AMD) discharged from the mine has caused severe environmental pollution and human health problems.In this article,chemical characteristics,mineralogy of ocher precipitations and heavy metal attenuation in the AMD are discussed based on physicochemical analysis,mineral analysis,sequential extraction experiments and hydrogeochemistry.The AMD chemical characteristics were determined from the initial water composition,water-rock interactions and dissolved sulfide minerals in the mine tailings.The waters,affected and unaffected by AMD,were Ca-SO4 and Ca-HCO3 types,respectively.The affected water had a low pH,high SO42 and high heavy metal content and oxidation as determined by the Fe2+ /Fe3+ couple.Heavy metal and SO42 contents of Hengshi River water decreased,while pH increased,downstream.Schwertmannite was the major mineral at the waste dump,while goethite and quartz were dominant at the tailings dam and streambed.Schwertmannite was transformed into goethite at the tailings dam and streambed.The sulfate ions of the secondary minerals changed from bidentate-to monodentate-complexes downstream.Fe-Mn oxide phases of Zn,Cd and Pb in sediments increased downstream.However,organic matter complexes of Cu in sediments increased further away from the tailings.Fe3+ mineral precipitates and transformations controlled the AMD water chemistry.Huarong Zhao Beicheng Xia Jianqiao Qin Jiaying Zhang 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,6:8
7White Matter Deficits Underlying the Impaired Consciousness Level in Patients with Disorders of Consciousness显示文摘In this study, we aimed to(1) identify white matter(WM) deficits underlying the consciousness level in patients with disorders of consciousness(DOCs) using diffusion tensor imaging(DTI), and(2) evaluate the relationship between DTI metrics and clinical measures of the consciousness level in DOC patients. With a cohort of 8 comatose, 8 unresponsive wakefulness syndrome/vegetative state, and 14 minimally conscious state patients and 25 patient controls, we performed group comparisons of the DTI metrics in 48 core WM regions of interest(ROIs), and examined the clinical relevance using correlation analysis. We identified multiple abnormal WM ROIs in DOC patients compared with normal controls, and the DTI metrics in these ROIs were significantly correlated with clinical measures of the consciousness level. 8Facilitating Lithium-Ion Diffusion in Layered Cathode Materials by Introducing Li^(+)/Ni^(2+) Antisite Defects for High-Rate Li-Ion Batteries显示文摘Li^(+)/Ni^(2+) antisite defects mainly resulting from their similar ionic radii in the layered nickel-rich cathode materials belong to one of cation disordering scenarios.They are commonly considered harmful to the electrochemical properties,so a minimum degree of cation disordering is usually desired.However,this study indicates that LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)O_(2)as the key material for Tesla batteries possesses the highest rate capability when there is a minor degree(2.3%)of Li^(+)/Ni^(2+) antisite defects existing in its layered structure.By combining a theoretical calculation,the improvement mechanism is attributed to two effects to decrease the activation barrier for lithium migration:(1)the anchoring of a low fraction of high-valence Ni^(2+) ions in the Li slab pushes uphill the nearest Li^(+)ions and(2)the same fraction of low-valence Li^(+) ions in the Ni slab weakens the repulsive interaction to the Li^(+) ions at the saddle point.Zhongfeng Tang Sen Wang Jiaying Liao Shuo Wang Xiaodong He Bicai Pan Haiyan He Chunhua Chen 2019Research2019,,1:8
9The precise regulation of different COR genes by individual CBF transcription factors in Arabidopsis thaliana显示文摘The transcription factors CBF1/2/3 are reported to play a dominant role in the cold responsive network of Arabidopsis by directly regulating the expression levels of cold responsive(COR) genes.In this study,we obtained CRISPR/Cas9-mediated loss-of-function mutants of cbf1$3.Over 3,000 COR genes identified by RNA-seq analysis showed a slight but significant change in their expression levels in the mutants compared to the wildtype plants after being treated at 4 °C for 12 h.The C-repeat(CRT) motif(50-CCGAC-30) was enriched in promoters of genes that were up-regulated by CBF2 and CBF3 but not in promoters of genes up-regulated by CBF1.These data suggest that CBF2 and CBF3 play a more important role in directing the cold response by regulating different sets of downstream COR genes.More than 2/3 of COR genes were co-regulated by two or three CBFs and were involved mainly in cellular signal transduction and metabolic processes;less than 1/3 of the genes were regulated by one CBF,and those genes up-regulated were enriched in cold-related abiotic stress responses.Our results indicate that CBFs play an important role in the trade-off between cold tolerance and plant growth through the precise regulation of COR genes in the complicated transcriptional network.Yihao Shi Jiaying Huang Tianshu Sun Xuefei Wang Chenqi Zhu Yuxi Ai Hongya Gu 2017Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2017,59,2:7
10Effects of long-term fertilization with different substitution ratios of organic fertilizer on paddy soil显示文摘In recent years,the abuse of chemical fertilizers has caused numerous environmental problems,such as soil acidification and compaction.Replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers can effectively alleviate these problems.However,the effects of alternative organic fertilizers remain unclear.To explore the effects of organic fertilizer substitution on rice yield and paddy soil physicochemical properties and bacterial community structure,we conducted a 5-year experiment using different proportions of organic fertilizer substitution in a double-cropping rice field in Jiangxi,China.Our results showed that replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers can reduce soil acidification,increase soil organic matter content,nutrient contents,and enzyme activities,improve soil physicochemical properties and microbial community,and enhance soil metabolism.Appropriate organic substitution also had positive effects on rice production.These findings enhance our understanding of the effects of different alternative organic fertilization methods and have important theoretical significance for the promotion of the use of organic fertilizers in the future.Weifeng SONG Aiping SHU Jiai LIU Wenchong SHI Mingcong LI Wenxue ZHANG Zuzhang LI Guangrong LIU Fusheng YUAN Shuxin ZHANG Zengbing LIU Zheng GAO 2022Pedosphere2022,32,4:7
11Factors that determine catastrophic expenditure for tuberculosis care: a patient survey in China显示文摘Background:Tuberculosis(TB)often causes catastrophic economic effects on both the individual suffering the disease and their households.A number of studies have analyzed patient and household expenditure on TB care,but there does not appear to be any that have assessed the incidence,intensity and determinants of catastrophic health expenditure(CHE)relating to TB care in China.That will be the objective of this paper.Methods:The data used for this study were derived from the baseline survey of the China Government–Gates Foundation TB Phase Ⅱ program.Our analysis included 747 TB cases.Catastrophic health expenditure for TB care was estimated using two approaches,with households defined as experiencing CHE if their annual expenditure on TB care:(a)exceeded 10%of total household income;and(b)exceeded 40%of their non-food expenditure(capacity to pay).Chi-square tests were used to identify associated factors and logistic regression analysis to identify the determinants of CHE.Results:The incidence of CHE was 66.8%using the household income measure and 54.7%using non-food expenditure(capacity to pay).An inverse association was observed between CHE rates and household income level.Significant determinants of CHE were:age,household size,employment status,health insurance status,patient income as a percentage of total household income,hospitalization and status as a minimum living security household.Factors including gender,marital status and type of TB case had no significant associations with CHE.Conclusions:Catastrophic health expenditure incidence from TB care is high in China.An integrated policy expanding the free treatment package and ensuring universal coverage,especially the height of UHC for TB patients,is needed.Financial and social protection interventions are essential for identified at-risk groups.Chengchao Zhou Qian Long Jiaying Chen Li Xiang Qiang Li Shenglan Tang Fei Huang Qiang Sun Henry Lucas 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:6

14Molecular cloning and ontogenesis expression of fatty acid transport protein-1 in yellow-feathered broilers显示文摘Fatty acid transport protein-1 (FATP-1) is one of the important transporter proteins involved in fatty acid transmembrane transport and fat deposition. To study the relationship between FATP-1 mRNA expression and fat deposition,chicken (Gallus gallus) FATP-1 sequence was first cloned by rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). Tissue samples of chest muscle,leg muscle,subcutaneous fat,and ab-dominal fat were collected from six male and six female broilers each,at 22 days,29 days,and 42 days,respectively. The tissue specific-ity and ontogenesis expression pattern of the FATP-1 mRNA of yellow-feathered broilers was studied by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR),and the fat deposition laws in different tissues were also compared. A 2,488 bp cDNA sequence of chicken FATP-1 was cloned by RACE (GenBank accession no. DQ352834),including 547 bp 3′ end untranslated region (URT) and 1,941 bp open reading frame (ORF). Chicken FATP-1 encoded 646 amino acid residues,which shared 83.9% and 83.0% identity with those of human and rat,respectively. The results of quantitative PCR demonstrated a constant FATP-1 mRNA expression level in the chest muscle and subcutaneous fat of both male and female broilers at three stages,whereas the expression level of the FATP-1 mRNA in the leg mus-cle at 42 days was significantly higher than that at 22 days or 29 days. In the abdominal fat of male broilers,the gene expression signifi-cantly increased with age,whereas the female broilers showed a dramatic downregulation of FATP-1 expression in abdominal fat at 42 days. 16Tunable Co/ZnO/C@MWCNTs based on carbon nanotube-coated MOF with excellent microwave absorption properties显示文摘The development of global information technology makes human life intelligent,and the large-scale use of various electronic devices increases the electromagnetic radiation in the surrounding environment.This has created a requirement for the development of high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbers to eliminate electromagnetic pollution.However,the preparation of electromagnetic wave absorbers with excellent electromagnetic loss capability remains a great challenge.Here,we present a method to prepare Co/ZnO/C@MWCNTs(CZC@M)composites by pyrolysis of ZnCo-MOF@MWCNTs(MOF@M).Specifically,MWCNTs are uniformly distributed on the CZC surface to form multiple heterogeneous interfaces,which will lead to an increase in polarizability.In addition,changing the amounts of MWCNTs in the composite can modulate its dielectric constant and impedance matching properties.Impressively,at only 10%sample content,the minimum reflection loss of-41.75 d B and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth of 4.72 GHz are obtained at thicknesses of 2.4 mm and 2.2 mm,respectively.Overall,the results reported in this work provide a new design strategy for the synthesis of high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbers with potential applications in the elimination of electromagnetic pollution.Zirui Jia Mingyue Kong Bowen Yu Yingzhuo Ma Jiaying Pan Guanglei Wu 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,32:5

18SNHG1 functions as an oncogenic lncRNA and promotes osteosarcoma progression by up-regulating S100A6 viamiR-493-5p显示文摘The mechanism behind the aberrant expression of S100A6 in osteosarcoma is seldom reported so far.This study sought to explore the regulatory axis targeting S100A6 involved in osteosarcoma progression.Clinical samples collected from osteosarcoma patients were used to detect the expressions of SNHG1,miR-493-5p,and S100A6 by western bolt analysis and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR).The effects of S100A6 on proliferation and osteogenic differentiation were investigated by the CCK-8 assay,colony formation assay,Ethynyl deoxyuridine staining,matrix mineralization assay,and alkaline phosphatase assay.The potential of lncRNAs/miRNAs targeting S100A6 was identified by the bioinformatics approach,and the results were verified by the dual luciferase assay and RNA immunoprecipitation assay.Both in vitro and in vivo rescue experiments were performed to investigate the regulatory relationship between the identified lncRNAs and S100A6.The results showed that S100A6 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma.S100A6 overexpression not only increases the proliferation but also reduces the osteogenic differentiation of osteosarcoma cells,while S1006A silence exerts the opposite effects.Then,SNHG1 is identified to directly interact with miR-493-5p to attenuate miR-493-5p binding to the 3′-untranslated region of S100A6.Notably,S100A6 silence partially rescues the effect of SNHG1 overexpression on proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of osteosarcoma cells.Furthermore,the suppressive role of SNHG1 silence in the growth of osteosarcoma xenograft tumors is countered by S100A6 overexpression.Collectively,this study reveals that S100A6 plays an important role in osteosarcoma progression,and SNHG1 promotes S100A6 expression by competitively sponging miR-493-5p.Qi Liu Jiaying Luo Huan Wang Lei Zhang Guoxin Jin 2022Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2022,54,1:5
19Toward Understanding the Extreme Floods over Yangtze River Valley in June−July 2020:Role of Tropical Oceans显示文摘The extreme floods in the Middle/Lower Yangtze River Valley(MLYRV)during June−July 2020 caused more than 170 billion Chinese Yuan direct economic losses.Here,we examine the key features related to this extreme event and explore relative contributions of SST anomalies in different tropical oceans.Our results reveal that the extreme floods over the MLYRV were tightly related to a strong anomalous anticyclone persisting over the western North Pacific,which brought tropical warm moisture northward that converged over the MLYRV.In addition,despite the absence of a strong El Niño in 2019/2020 winter,the mean SST anomaly in the tropical Indian Ocean during June−July 2020 reached its highest value over the last 40 years,and 43%(57%)of it is attributed to the multi-decadal warming trend(interannual variability).Based on the NUIST CFS1.0 model that successfully predicted the wet conditions over the MLYRV in summer 2020 initiated from 1 March 2020(albeit the magnitude of the predicted precipitation was only about one-seventh of the observed),sensitivity experiment results suggest that the warm SST condition in the Indian Ocean played a dominant role in generating the extreme floods,compared to the contributions of SST anomalies in the Maritime Continent,central and eastern equatorial Pacific,and North Atlantic.Furthermore,both the multi-decadal warming trend and the interannual variability of the Indian Ocean SSTs had positive impacts on the extreme floods.Our results imply that the strong multi-decadal warming trend in the Indian Ocean needs to be taken into consideration for the prediction/projection of summer extreme floods over the MLYRV in the future.Shaolei TANG Jing-Jia LUO Jiaying HE Jiye WU Yu ZHOU Wushan YING 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,12:4
20Implementing a “free” tuberculosis (TB) care policy under the integrated model in Jiangsu, China: practices and costs in the real world显示文摘Background:In the 1990s,China introduced a“free”tuberculosis(TB)care policy under the national TB control program.Recently,as a part of a new TB diagnosis and treatment model,it has been recommended that the integrated model scale up.This paper examines whether or not TB designated hospitals in the selected project sites have provided TB care according to the national and local guidelines,and analyzes the actual practices and expenditures involved in completing TB treatment.It also explores the reasons why“free”TB care in China cannot be effectively implemented under the integrated model.Methods:This study was conducted in three counties of Zhenjiang city,Jiangsu province.Mixed methods were used,which comprised reviewing the national and local TB control guidelines,conducting TB patient surveys,collecting TB inpatient and outpatient hospital records,and conducting qualitative interviews with stakeholders.Descriptive statistics were used for quantitative data analysis across counties and in order to compare patients who received only outpatient care and those who received both outpatient and inpatient care.The chi-square test and analysis of variance were performed where necessary.Qualitative data were analyzed using the framework approach.Results:Although the national TB care guidelines recommend outpatient care as a basis for TB treatment in China,we found high hospital admission rates for TB patients ranging from 39%in Yangzhong county to 83%in Dantu county.Almost all outpatient TB patients paid for lab tests and over 80%paid for liver protection drugs and around 70%paid for image examinations.These three components accounted for three-quarters of the total outpatient expenditure.For patients who received only outpatient care,the total expenditure upon completion of TB treatment was on average 1,135 Chinese yuan.For patients who received outpatient and inpatient care,the total expenditure upon completion of TB treatment was 11,117 Chinese yuan.Conclusion:The“free”TB care policy under the integrated model has not been effectively implemented in China.There has been substantial spending on non-recommended services,examinations,and drugs for TB treatment.Xinxin Jia Jiaying Chen Siyuan Zhang Bing Dai Qian Long Shenglan Tang 2016Infectious Diseases of Poverty2016,5,1:4
