It has been found that the temperature of the cathode drops markedly during the thermionic emission. For example, the temperature could fall by about 30oC under a current density of 2.92 A/cm2. Using the molecular thermodynamics, the dependence of the cathode temperature on the emission current density has been obtained. It has been theoretically pointed out that several factors, such as heating model and temperature coefficient of resis-tance of heater, can influence the cathode temperature. | 5 | Diagnostic value of negative enrichment and immune fluorescence in situ hybridization for intraperitoneal free cancer cells of gastric cancer显示文摘Objective:To explore the intraperitoneal free cancer cell(IFCC)detection value of negative enrichment and immune fluorescence in situ hybridization(NEimFISH)on chromosomes(CEN)8/17.Methods:To verify the reliability of NEimFISH,29 gastric cancer tumors,their adjacent tissues and greater omental tissues were tested.Our study then included 105 gastric cancer patients for IFCC.We defined patients as IFCC-positive if a signal was detected,regardless of the detailed cancer cell numbers.A comparison of clinicopathological features was conducted among IFCC groups.We also compared the diagnosis value and peritoneal recurrence predictive value among different detection methods.The comparison of IFCC number was also conducted among different groups.Results:A cutoff of 2.5 positive cells could distinguish all benign tissue samples and 97%of malignant tissue samples in our study.Compared to intestinal gastric cancer,patients with diffuse gastric cancer tended to have more IFCCs(6 vs.4,P=0.002).The IFCC counts were often higher in the lymphovascular invasion positive group than negative group(3 vs.1,P=0.022).All IFCC samples that were considered positive using conventional cytology were also found to be positive using NEimFISH.When compared to conventional cytology and paraffin pathology,NEimFISH had a higher IFCC positive rate(68.9%)and higher one-year peritoneal recurrence predictive value with area under the curve(AUC)of 0.922.Conclusions:Gastric cancer could be effectively diagnosed by NEimFISH.The IFCC number found using NEimFISH on CEN8/17 is closely associated with Lauren type and vascular invasion of cancer.NEimFISH is a reliable detection modality with a higher positive detection rate,higher one-year peritoneal recurrence predictive value and quantitative features for IFCC of gastric cancer. | Anqiang Wang Zhongwu Li Qian Wang Yali Bai Xin Ji Tao Fu Ke Ji Yanwen Xue Tingxu Han Xiaojiang Wu Ji Zhang Yingjie Yang Guobin Xu Zhaode Bu Jiafu Ji | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,6: | 3 |
| 6 | Optimization of sampling frequency for routine river water quality monitoring显示文摘Sampling frequency is an important factor to be considered during the design of a water monitoring network,and the cost-effective selection of possible ways and means for the optimization of sampling frequency is still needed.This paper introduces water pollution index deviation ratio comparison(WPI DRC),a procedure for the optimization of sampling frequency for a routine river water quality monitoring system.Sampling frequency optimized using WPI DRC at monitoring station X5 in the mainstream of Xiangjiang River is compared with that established using the traditional Statistical Algorithm method.The result of comparison indicates that WPI DRC is more feasible than the traditional one.And then,the sampling frequencies for other 16 monitoring stations also have been optimized,and the results show the sampling frequencies of all the stations except that X4 are reduced,and there is no unacceptable difference between water quality evaluation results at 17 stations before and after the optimization.Therefore,it is concluded that WPI DRC is an effective optimization process with operable results,which can be used to fulfill the requirement of practical monitoring work. | LIU Yan ZHENG BingHui WANG Mei XU YanXue QIN YanWen | 2014 | Science China Chemistry2014,57,5: | 2 |
| 7 | Influence of Nb^(5+) Doping on Structure and Electrochemical Properties of Spinel Li_(1.02)Mn_2O_4显示文摘The Li1.02NbxMn2-xO4 (x=0,0.005,0.01,0.02,0.04 and 0.1) materials were prepared by solid-state reaction method in which Li2CO3 , electrolytic MnO2 and Nb2O5 were used as reactants. The influences of the Nb5+ doping on structure, morphology and electrochemical performance were systemically investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and AC impedance. XRD test showed that the prepared samples had single spinel structure although there was impurity phase of LiNbO3 existing in Li1.02NbxMn2-xO4 phase after Nb5+ doping. The doped materials with Nb5+ had smaller lattice parameters and crystal volume compared with pristine Li1.02Mn2O4. The endurance of overcharge was largely improved. | 8 | Meta-analysis of 20 clinical,randomized,controlled trials of acupuncture for depression显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To determine the efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of depression by performing systematical reviews and meta-analysis from 20 articles of clinical,randomized,controlled studies. DATA SOURCES:A computer-based online search of PubMed Database,Chinese Biological Medicine Database(VIP database) ,China Knowledge Database,and Wanfang Database was performed to search articles published between January 1999 and September 2009. DATA SELECTION:Inclusion criteria:articles published in official academic journals;articles with definite diagnostic criteria and acknowledgment;articles involving subjects with depression or depressive disorders,with no limitations to age,sex,or source;articles involving acupuncture-related therapies(including acupuncture needle,electro-acupuncture,moxibustion,abdominal acupuncture,etc.) as the primary means of intervention;articles of randomized controlled trials or involving 'randomized controlled','randomized grouping',or 'random'. Jadad scores were utilized to evaluate quality of included articles. Review Manage 4.2.7 software was used to evaluate efficacy of acupuncture in treating depression,and Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD) score,Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) score,and meta-analysis were used to evaluate clinical efficacy. Meta-analysis of a fixed effect model was performed when P > 0.05 or P > 0.01 in the test for heterogeneity. Meta-analysis of the random effect model was performed when P ≤ 0.05. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:Efficacy rate,HAMD scores,and SDS scores. RESULTS:Quality evaluation of the 20 selected clinical,randomized,controlled trials demonstrated baseline equilibrium and randomness,although a considerable number of randomized studies simply mentioned 'random' without describing a specific method. Therefore,the reliability of randomness was relatively low. An envelope to hide the information was not used,and proper blinding was difficult to implement due to the innate features of acupuncture. The follow-up rate was low,and reasons for dropout were not explored. Therefore,it was not possible to objectively evaluate the study results. In addition,the study did not estimate sample size;it was unclear whether the sample was truly representative of general characteristics. Meta-analysis showed that acupuncture monotherapy exhibited similar efficacy to Western medicine for treating depression:combined effect size OR = 1.66,95% CI:0.59-4.65,combined effect value test:Z = 0.97,P = 0.33. Comparison of the efficacy of acupuncture combination therapy with Western medicine demonstrated a combined effect size OR = 2.46,95% CI:1.64-3.71 and combined effect of the value of Z = 4.32(P < 0.01) ,implying that there was insufficient evidence to prove a superior effect of acupuncture combination therapy over Western medicine. In terms of HAMD and SDS scores,the weighted mean difference was-2.01 and-8.68,respectively,with 95% CI:-3.48 to 0.53,-11.21 to-6.16(P < 0.01) ,suggesting that acupuncture efficacy was significantly better than the control group. CONCLUSION:The efficacy of acupuncture monotherapy was similar to Western medicine for treating depression. | 12 | SARS-CoV-2 NSP5 and N protein counteract the RIG-I signaling pathway by suppressing the formation of stress granules显示文摘As a highly pathogenic human coronavirus,SARS-CoV-2 has to counteract an intricate network of antiviral host responses to establish infection and spread.The nucleic acid-induced stress response is an essential component of antiviral defense and is closely related to antiviral innate immunity.However,whether SARS-CoV-2 regulates the stress response pathway to achieve immune evasion remains elusive.In this study,SARS-CoV-2 NSP5 and N protein were found to attenuate antiviral stress granule(avSG)formation.Moreover,NSP5 and N suppressed IFN expression induced by infection of Sendai virus or transfection of a synthetic mimic of dsRNA,poly(I:C),inhibiting TBK1 and IRF3 phosphorylation,and restraining the nuclear translocalization of IRF3.Furthermore,HEK293T cells with ectopic expression of NSP5 or N protein were less resistant to vesicular stomatitis virus infection.Mechanistically,NSP5 suppressed avSG formation and disrupted RIG-I–MAVS complex to attenuate the RIG-I–mediated antiviral immunity.In contrast to the multiple targets of NSP5,the N protein specifically targeted cofactors upstream of RIG-I.The N protein interacted with G3BP1 to prevent avSG formation and to keep the cofactors G3BP1 and PACT from activating RIG-I.Additionally,the N protein also affected the recognition of dsRNA by RIG-I.This study revealed the intimate correlation between SARS-CoV-2,the stress response,and innate antiviral immunity,shedding light on the pathogenic mechanism of COVID-19. | Yi Zheng Jian Deng Lulu Han Meng-Wei Zhuang Yanwen Xu Jing Zhang Mei-Ling Nan Yang Xiao Peng Zhan Xinyong Liu Chengjiang Gao Pei-Hui Wang | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,2: | 1 |

| 20 | The chemical reprogramming of unipotent adult germ cells towards authentic pluripotency and de novo establishment of imprinting显示文摘Although somatic cells can be reprogrammed to pluripotent stem cells(PsCs)with pure chemicals,authentic pluripotency of chemically induced pluripotent stem celis(CipsCs)has never been achieved through tetraploid complementation assay.Spontaneous reprogramming of spermatogonial stem cells(ssCs)was another non-transgenic way to obtain PsCs,but this process lacks mechanistic explanation.Here,we reconstructed the trajectory of mouse SsC reprogramming and developed a five-chemical combination,boosting the reprogramming effciency by nearly 80-to 100-folds.More importantly,chemical induced germline-derived PsCs(5C-gPSCs),but not gpsCs and chemical induced pluripotent stem cells,had authentic pluripotency,as determined by tetraploid complementation.Mechanistically,ssCs traversed through an inverted pathway of in vivo germ ceil development,exhibiting the expression signatures and DNA methylation dynamics from spermatogonia to primordial germ cells and further to epiblasts.Besides,ssC-specific imprinting control regions switched from biallelic methylated states to monoallelic methylated states by imprinting demethylation and then re-methylation on one of the two alleles in 5c-gPsCs,which was apparently distinct with the imprinting reprogramming in vivo as DNA methylation simultaneously occurred on both alleles.Our work sheds ight on the unique regulatory network underpinning SsC reprogramming,providing insights to understand generic mechanisms for cell-fate decision and epigenetic-relateddisorders in regenerative medicine. | Yuhan Chen Jiansen Lu Yanwen Xu Yaping Huang Dazhuang Wang Peiling Liang Shaofang Ren Xuesong Hu Yewen Qin Wei Ke Ralf Jauch Andrew Paul Hutchins Mei Wang Fuchou Tang Xiao-Yang Zhao | 2023 | Protein & Cell2023,14,7: | 0 |
