1Necklace-like Si@C nano?bers as robust anode materials for high performance lithium ion batteries显示文摘Silicon is believed to be a promising anode material for lithium ion batteries because of its highest theoretical capacity and low discharge potential. However, severe pulverization and capacity fading caused by huge volume change during cycling limits its practical application. In this work, necklace-like N-doped carbon wrapped mesoporous Si nanofibers(NL-Si@C) network has been synthesized via electrospinning method followed by magnesiothermic reduction reaction process to suppress these issues. The mesoporous Si nanospheres are wrapped with N-doped carbon shells network to form yolk-shell structure.Interestingly, the distance of adjacent Si@C nanospheres can be controllably adjusted by different addition amounts of SiO_2 nanospheres. When used as an anode material for lithium ion batteries, the NL-Si@C-0.5 exhibits best cycling stability and rate capability. The excellent electrochemical performances can be ascribed to the necklace-like network structure and N-doped carbon layers, which can ensure fast ions and electrons transportation, facilitate the electrolyte penetration and provide finite voids to allow large volume expansion of inner Si nanoparticles. 2Induction and transmission of wheat-Haynaldia villosa chromosomal translocations显示文摘In order to develop more wheat-Haynaldia villosa translocations involving different chromosomes and chromosome segments of H. villosa, T. durum-H. villosa amphiploid was irradiated with 60Co γ-rays at doses of 800, 1,200, and 1,600 rad. Pollen collected from the spikes 1, 2, and 3 days after irradiation were transferred to emasculated spikes of the common wheat cv. ‘Chinese Spring'. Genomic in situ hybridization was used to identify wheat-H. villosa chromosome translocations in the M1 generation. Transmission of the identified translocation chromosomes was analyzed in the BC1, BC2, and BC3 generations. The results indicated that all three irradiation doses were highly efficient for inducing wheat-alien translocations without affecting the viability of the M1 seeds. Within the range of 800-1,600 rad, both the efficiency of translocation induction and the frequency of interstitial chromosome breakage-fusion increased as the irradiation dosage increased. A higher translocation induction frequency was observed using pollen collected from the spikes 1 day after irradiation over that of 2 or 3 days after irradiation. More than 70% of the translocations detected in the M1 generation were transmitted to the BC1 through the female gametes. All translocations recovered in the BC1 generation were recovered in the following BC2, and BC3 generations. The transmission ability of different translocation types in different genetic backgrounds showed an order of ‘whole-arm translocation > small alien segment translocation > large alien segment translocation', through either male or female gametes. In general, the transmission ability through the female gametes was higher than that through the male gametes. 3Alpha-2-macroglobulin as a radioprotective agent: a review显示文摘Radiation is an important modality in cancer treatment, and eighty percent of cancer patients need radiotherapy at some point during their clinical management. However, radiation-induced damage to normal tissues restricts the therapeutic doses of radiation that can be delivered to tumours and thereby limits the effectiveness of the treatment. The use of radioprotectors represents an obvious strategy to obtain better tumour control using a higher dose in radiotherapy. However, most of the synthetic radioprotective compounds studied have shown inadequate clinical efficacy owing to their inherent toxicity and high cost. Hence, the development of radioprotective agents with lower toxicity and an extended window of protection has attracted a great deal of attention, and the identification of alternative agents that are less toxic and highly effective is an absolute necessity. Recent studies have shown that alpha-2-macroglobulin(α2M) possesses radioprotective effects. α2M is a tetrameric, disulfide-rich plasma glycoprotein that functions as a nonselective inhibitor of different types of non-specific proteases and as a carrier of cytokines, growth factors, and hormones. α2M induces protein factors whose interplay underlies radioprotection, which supports the idea that α2M is the central effector of natural radioprotection in the rat. Pretreatment with α2M has also induced a significant reduction of irradiation-induced DNA damage and the complete restoration of liver and body weight. Mihailovi? et al. concluded that the radioprotection provided by α2M was in part mediated through cytoprotection of new blood cells produced in the bone marrow; these authors also indicated that an important aspect of the radioprotective effect of amifostine was the result of the induction of the endogenous cytoprotective capability of α2M. The radioprotective effects of α2M are possibly due to antioxidant, antifibrosis, and anti-inflammatory functions, as well as the maintenance of homeostasis, and enhancement of the DNA repair and cell recovery processes. This review is the first to summarise the observations and elucidate the possible mechanisms responsible for the beneficial effects of α2M. 4Transcriptome analysis reveals key differentially expressed genes involved in wheat grain development显示文摘Wheat seed development is an important physiological process of seed maturation and directly affects wheat yield and quality. In this study, we performed dynamic transcriptome microarray analysis of an elite Chinese bread wheat cultivar(Jimai 20) during grain development using the Gene Chip Wheat Genome Array. Grain morphology and scanning electron microscope observations showed that the period of 11–15 days post-anthesis(DPA) was a key stage for the synthesis and accumulation of seed starch. Genome-wide transcriptional profiling and significance analysis of microarrays revealed that the period from 11 to 15 DPA was more important than the 15–20 DPA stage for the synthesis and accumulation of nutritive reserves.Series test of cluster analysis of differential genes revealed five statistically significant gene expression profiles. Gene ontology annotation and enrichment analysis gave further information about differentially expressed genes, and Map Man analysis revealed expression changes within functional groups during seed development. Metabolic pathway network analysis showed that major and minor metabolic pathways regulate one another to ensure regular seed development and nutritive reserve accumulation. We performed gene co-expression network analysis to identify genes that play vital roles in seed development and identified several key genes involved in important metabolic pathways. The transcriptional expression of eight key genes involved in starch and protein synthesis and stress defense was further validated by q RT-PCR. 16Relationship between micro-porosity and tensile properties of 6063 alloy显示文摘The micro-porosity is usually present in the as-cast microstructure,which decreases the tensile strength and ductility and therefore limit the application of cast aluminum parts.Although much work has been done to investigate the effects of various casting parameters on the formation of porosity in various aluminum alloys,up to now,little information has been available for the relationship between micro-porosity and tensile properties of 6063 alloy.In this study,the influences of size and area fraction of micro-porosity on the tensile properties and fracture behavior of 6063 aluminum alloy were investigated by means of tensile testing,optical microscopy(OM),and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The tensile tests were conducted in air at 100 ℃,200 ℃ and 300 ℃,respectively.Results show that the large micro-porosity with sizes between 100 μm and 800 μm located at the center and top of the ingot,while the small micro-porosity with size between 2 μm and 60 μm distributed at the edge and bottom of the ingot.The area fraction of micro-porosity at the center of the ingot is much bigger than that at the edge of the ingot.When tested at 100 ℃,with the decrease in the area fraction of micro-porosity from the top of the ingot to the bottom of the ingot,the ultimate tensile strength,yield strength and the elongation are increased from 82 to 99 MPa,32 to 66 MPa and 7% to 11%,respectively.When the temperature is no more than 200 ℃,the strain hardening exponent decreases with an increase in the area fraction of micro-porosity;while the deviation disappears when the temperature reaches 300 ℃.The fracture mode of the alloy is greatly influenced by the size and area fraction of the micro-porosity.Li Xiehua He Lizi Zhu Pei Cao Yiheng Guo Yaping Cui Jianzhong 2013China Foundry2013,10,1:1
17Identification of liver metastasis-associated genes in human colon carcinoma by mRNA profiling显示文摘Objective: Liver metastasis,which contributes substantially to high mortality,is the most common recurrent mode of colon carcinoma.Thus,it is necessary to identify genes implicated in metastatic colonization of the liver in colon carcinoma.Methods: We compared mRNA profiling in 18 normal colon mucosa(N),20 primary tumors(T) and 19 liver metastases(M) samples from the dataset GSE49355 and GSE62321 of Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO) database.Gene ontology(GO) and pathways of the identified genes were analyzed.Co-expression network and proteinprotein interaction(PPI) network were employed to identify the interaction relationship.Survival analyses based on The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) database were used to further screening.Then,the candidate genes were validated by our data.Results: We identified 22 specific genes related to liver metastasis and they were strongly associated with cell migration,adhesion,proliferation and immune response.Simultaneously,the results showed that C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 14(CXCL14) might be a favorable prediction factor for survival of patients with colon carcinoma.Importantly,our validated data further suggested that lower CXCL14 represented poorer outcome and contributed to metastasis.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA) showed that CXCL14 was negatively related to the regulation of stem cell proliferation and epithelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT).Conclusions: CXCL14 was identified as a crucial anti-metastasis regulator of colon carcinoma for the first time,and might provide novel therapeutic strategies for colon carcinoma patients to improve prognosis and prevent metastasis.Jianling Liu Dan Wang Chaoqi Zhang Zhen Zhang Xinfeng Chen Jingyao Lian Jinbo Liu Guixian Wang Weitang Yuan Zhenqiang Sun Weijia Wang Mengjia Song Yaping Wang Qian Wu Ling Cao Dong Wang Yi Zhang 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,6:1
