1A fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling and its applications显示文摘We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. 2Electrode materials derived from plastic wastes and other industrial wastes for supercapacitors显示文摘The present review not only devotes on the environmental consequences of plastic bag wastes and other industrial wastes observable in the landfills,in the oceans or elsewhere but also gives a new insight idea on conversion of them into worth material,carbon,for the best electrochemical supercapacitor.Transformation of plastic wastes into high-value materials is the incentive for plastic recycling,end-oflife handling case for plastic bag wastes in practice quite limited.The plastic recycling waste for reuse saves energy compared with manufacturing virgin materials.Herein,we identified several synthetic methods to convert plastic waste and other industrial wastes into carbon material for supercapacitor.Different kinds of carbon materials,including nanofiber,nanotube,graphene,mesoporous carbon,etc.,have been derived from plastic waste,and thus give a superior potential for transforming trash into a'gold capacitor'.Finally,conclusions and future trends of high-voltage supercapacitors were made as well as the easy and mass production of high-performance electrode materials for supercapacitors.Our work offers a promising sustainable approach to handle plastic bags,waste,and other industrial wastes and provides a new avenue in supercapacitor applications and other areas.Wellars Utetiwabo Le Yang Muhammad Khurram Tufail Lei Zhou Renjie Chen Yimeng Lian Wen Yang 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,6:5
3Objective assessment of bradykinesia in Parkinson’s disease using evolutionary algorithms:clinical validation显示文摘Background:There is an urgent need for developing objective,effective and convenient measurements to help clinicians accurately identify bradykinesia.The purpose of this study is to evaluate the accuracy of an objective approach assessing bradykinesia in finger tapping(FT)that uses evolutionary algorithms(EAs)and explore whether it can be used to identify early stage Parkinson’s disease(PD).Methods:One hundred and seven PD,41 essential tremor(ET)patients and 49 normal controls(NC)were recruited.Participants performed a standard FT task with two electromagnetic tracking sensors attached to the thumb and index finger.Readings from the sensors were transmitted to a tablet computer and subsequently analyzed by using EAs.The output from the device(referred to as'PD-Monitor')scaled from−1 to+1(where higher scores indicate greater severity of bradykinesia).Meanwhile,the bradykinesia was rated clinically using the Movement Disorder Society-Sponsored Revision of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale(MDS-UPDRS)FT item.Results:With an increasing MDS-UPDRS FT score,the PD-Monitor score from the same hand side increased correspondingly.PD-Monitor score correlated well with MDS-UPDRS FT score(right side:r=0.819,P=0.000;left side:r=0.783,P=0.000).Moreover,PD-Monitor scores in 97 PD patients with MDS-UPDRS FT bradykinesia and each PD subgroup(FT bradykinesia scored from 1 to 3)were all higher than that in NC.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves revealed that PD-Monitor FT scores could detect different severity of bradykinesia with high accuracy(≥89.7%)in the right dominant hand.Furthermore,PD-Monitor scores could discriminate early stage PD from NC,with area under the ROC curve greater than or equal to 0.899.Additionally,ET without bradykinesia could be differentiated from PD by PD-Monitor scores.A positive correlation of PD-Monitor scores with modified Hoehn and Yahr stage was found in the left hand sides.Conclusions:Our study demonstrated that a simple to use device employing classifiers derived from EAs could not only be used to accurately measure different severity of bradykinesia in PD,but also had the potential to differentiate early stage PD from normality.Chao Gao Stephen Smith Michael Lones Stuart Jamieson Jane Alty Jeremy Cosgrove Pingchen Zhang Jin Liu Yimeng Chen Juanjuan Du Shishuang Cui Haiyan Zhou Shengdi Chen 2018Translational Neurodegeneration2018,7,1:3
4Two Dimension C_3N_4/MoS_2 Nanocomposites with Enhanced Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution under Visible Light Irradiation显示文摘MoS_2-decorated C_3N_4(C_3N_4/MoS_2) nanosheets hybrid photocatalysts were prepared by a simple sonication-impregnation method. Face-to-face lamellar heterojunctions were well established between two dimension(2D) C_3N_4 and MoS_2 nanosheets. The effects of MoS_2 content on the light absorption, charge transfer and photocatalytic activity of the hybrid samples were investigated. Characterization results show that MoS_2 nanosheets are well anchored on the face of C_3N_4 nanosheets and the composites have well dispersed layered morphology. After loading with MoS_2, the light absorption of composites was much improved, especially in visible-light region. The photocatalytic activities of C_3N_4/MoS_2 samples were evaluated based on the H_2 evolution under visible light irradiation(λ > 400 nm). When the loading amount of MoS_2 was increased to 5 wt%, the highest H_2 evolution rate(274 μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)) was obtained. Compared with samples obtained from direct impregnation method, sonication pretreatment is favorable for the formation of 2D layered heterojuctions and thus improve the photocatalytic activity. Slightly deactivation of C_3N_4/MoS_2 composites could be observed when recycled due to the mild photocorrosion of MoS_2. 5High-efficiency green micro-LEDs with GaN tunnel junctions grown hybrid by PA-MBE and MOCVD显示文摘We fabricated p-i-n tunnel junction(TJ)contacts for hole injection on c-plane green micro-light-emitting diodes(micro-LEDs)by a hybrid growth approach using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PA-MBE)and metal–organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD).The TJ was formed by an MBE-grown ultra-thin unintentionally doped In Ga N polarization layer and an n^(++)∕n^(+)-GaN layer on the activated p^(++)-Ga N layer prepared by MOCVD.This hybrid growth approach allowed for the realization of a steep doping interface and ultrathin depletion width for efficient inter-band tunneling.Compared to standard micro-LEDs,the TJ micro-LEDs showed a reduced device resistance,enhanced electroluminescence intensity,and a reduced efficiency droop.The size-independent J-V characteristics indicate that TJ could serve as an excellent current spreading layer.All these results demonstrated that hybrid TJ contacts contributed to the realization of high-performance micro-LEDs with long emission wavelengths.YAOZHENG WU BIN LIU FEIFAN XU YIMENG SANG TAO TAO ZILI XIE KE WANG XIANGQIAN XIU PENG CHEN DUNJUN CHEN HAI LU RONG ZHANG YOUDOU ZHENG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,9:2
6Cobalt protoporphyrin-induced nano-self-assembly for CT imaging,magnetic-guidance,and antioxidative protection of stem cells in pulmonary fibrosis treatment显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)transplantation is a promising approach for pulmonary fibrosis(PF),however it is impeded by several persistent challenges,including the lack of long-term tracking,low retention,and poor survival of MSCs,as well as the low labeling efficiency of nanoprobes.Herein,a cobalt protoporphyrin IX(CoPP)aggregation-induced strategy is applied to develop a multifunctional nano-self-assembly(ASCP)by combining gold nanoparticle(AuNPs),superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(SPIONs),and CoPP through a facile solvent evaporation-driven approach.Since no additional carrier materials are employed during the synthesis,high loading efficiency of active ingredients and excellent biocompatibility are achieved.Additionally,facile modification of the ASCPs with bicyclo[6.1.0]nonyne(BCN)groups(named as ASCP-BCN)enables them to effectively label MSCs through bioorthogonal chemistry.The obtained ASCP-BCN could not only help to track MSCs with AuNP-based computed tomography(CT)imaging,but also achieve an SPIONs-assisted magnetic field based improvement in the MSCs retention in lungs as well as promoted the survival of MSCs via the sustained release of CoPP.The in vivo results demonstrated that the labeled MSCs improved the lung functions and alle-viated the fibrosis symptoms in a bleomycin–induced PF mouse model.Collectively,a novel ASCP-BCN multi-functional nanoagent was developed to bioorthogonally-label MSCs with a high efficiency,presenting a promising potential in the high-efficient MSC therapy for PF.Yimeng Shu Ming Ma Xiaoxia Pan Muhammad Shafiq Huizhu Yu Hangrong Chen 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,3:2

10Climate instability during the last glaciation recorded in the Yuanbu loess section显示文摘Abrupt events within the Linxia Yuanbu loess section in the western Loess Plateau in China were investigated. The climatic proxy index of the content of mean grain-size and >4 lm grain-size fraction of the section was used as a climatic indicator, and a moving average method was applied in the statistical analysis to extract the abrupt events recorded in the section. It was found that the loess of the last glaciation recorded not only the abrupt events teleconnected with the high-latitude North Atlantic and Greenland regions but also as many as 15 abrupt events in addition to the Heinrich (H) and Younger Dryas (YD) events. This indicates that abrupt climate changes were typical of the climate changes occurring in the Loess Plateau during the last glaciation. The widely recognized mechanisms of the abrupt climate changes, including the heat transfer theory of the North Atlantic Ocean, the atmospheric circulation theory, and the theory of the interac- tion between low-latitude ocean and the atmosphere remains to be discussed. Perhaps this problem could be resolved by revealing the rela- tion between the evolution of the features of the East Asian monsoon climate and the climate in the surrounding areas. Through a detailed study of the features of the Heinrich and YD events, criteria on which the abrupt events recorded in the loess could be distinguished were tentatively defined. The events were associated with a large grain size, high carbonate content, high lightness, low susceptibility, low redness and low yellowness. In addition, the variation amplitude of the adjacent peak and valley on the curve of the content of the mean grain-size and >40 lm grain-size fraction was larger than 3.4 lm and the content of >40 lm grain-size fraction was larger than 2.0 lm. Lastly, the length of the variation time was less than 500 years. 11Role of hydro-geochemical functions on karst critical zone hydrology for sustainability of water resources and ecology in Southwest China显示文摘Focusing on sustainability of water resources and ecology in the complex karst critical zone, we illustrated functions of the hydro-geochemical analysis on hydrology from the aspects of connection and interaction among hydrology–vegetation–soils/rock fractures along the karst subsurface profile. We reviewed isotopic and geochemical interpretations on tracing water sources for plant uptake, quantifying watershed outlet flow composition and residence times, and evaluating long-term evolution among climate–landscape–hydrology in the karst critical zone. 13Exosomal transfer of microRNA-590-3p between renal tubular epithelial cells after renal ischemia-reperfusion injury regulates autophagy by targeting TRAF6显示文摘Background:Acute kidney injury(AKI)is a common complication in patients,especially elderly patients,who undergo cardiac surgery with cardiopulmonary bypass.Studies have indicated a protective role of autophagy in AKI.However,the mechanisms underlying the regulatory effect of autophagy in AKI among patients undergoing cardiac surgeries are poorly understood.In this study,we aimed to test the hypothesis that exosomal microRNAs(miRNAs)regulate autophagy in tubular epithelial cells after AKI.Methods:Plasma exosomal RNA was extracted from young and elderly AKI patients undergoing cardiac surgery,and the miRNAs expression during the perioperative period were analyzed using next-generation sequencing.The screened miRNAs and their target genes were subjected to gene oncology function and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genome enrichment analyses.Renal tubular epithelial cell line(HK-2 cells)was cultured and hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R)model was established,which is an in vitro renal ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)model.We used Western blot analysis,cell viability assay,transfection,luciferase assay to investigate the mechanisms underlying the observed increases in the levels of renal I/R injury-mediated exosomal miRNAs and their roles in regulating HK-2 cells autophagy.Results:miR-590-3p was highly enriched in the plasma exosomes of young AKI patients after cardiac surgery.Increased levels of miR-590-3p led to the increases in the expression of autophagy marker proteins,including Beclin-1 and microtubule associated protein 1 light chain 3 beta(LC3II),and prolonged the autophagic response in HK-2 cells after H/R treatment.These effects were achieved mainly via increases in the exosomal miR-590-3p levels,and the tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6 protein was shown to play a key role in I/R injury-mediated autophagy induction.Conclusion:Exosomes released from HK-2 cells after renal I/R injury regulate autophagy by transferring miR-590-3p in a paracrine manner,which suggests that increasing the miR-590-3p levels in HK-2 cell-derived exosomes may increase autophagy and protect against kidney injury after renal I/R injury.Yimeng Chen Congya Zhang Yingjie Du Xiying Yang Min Liu Wenjing Yang Guiyu Lei Guyan Wang 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,20:1

15Association between homologous recombination deficiency and outcomes with platinum and platinum-free chemotherapy in patients with triple-negative breast cancer显示文摘Objective:The choice of chemotherapeutic regimen for triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)remains controversial.Homologous recombination deficiency(HRD)has attracted increasing attention in informing chemotherapy treatment.This study was aimed at investigating the feasibility of HRD as a clinically actionable biomarker for platinum-containing and platinum-free therapy.Methods:Chinese patients with TNBC who received chemotherapy between May 1,2008 and March 31,2020 were retrospectively analyzed with a customized 3D-HRD panel.HRD positivity was defined by an HRD score≥30 or deleterious BRCA1/2 mutation.A total of 386 chemotherapy-treated patients with TNBC were screened from a surgical cohort(NCT01150513)and a metastatic cohort,and 189 patients with available clinical and tumor sequencing data were included.Results:In the entire cohort,49.2%(93/189)of patients were identified as HRD positive(40 with deleterious BRCA1/2 mutations and 53 with BRCA1/2 intact with an HRD score of≥30).In the first-line metastatic setting,platinum therapy was associated with longer median progression-free survival(mPFS)than platinum-free therapy[9.1 vs.3.0 months;hazard ratio(HR),0.43;95%confidence interval 0.22–0.84;P=0.01].Among HRD-positive patients,the mPFS was significantly longer in those treated with platinum rather than platinum-free therapy(13.6 vs.2.0 months;HR,0.11;P=0.001).Among patients administered a platinum-free regimen,HRD-negative patients showed a PFS significantly superior to that of HRD-positive patients(P=0.02;treatment-biomarker P-interaction=0.001).Similar results were observed in the BRCA1/2-intact subset.In the adjuvant setting,HRD-positive patients tended to benefit more from platinum chemotherapy than from platinum-free chemotherapy(P=0.05,P-interaction=0.02).Conclusions:HRD characterization may guide decision-making regarding the use of platinum treatment in patients with TNBC in both adjuvant and metastatic settings.Yimeng Chen Xue Wang Feng Du Jian Yue Yiran Si Xiaochen Zhao Lina Cui Bei Zhang Ting Bei Binghe Xu Peng Yuan 2023Cancer Biology & Medicine2023,20,2:1
16A Meta-analysis of Major Complications between Traditional Pacemakers and Leadless Pacemakers显示文摘Objectives:We aim to compare the major complications between leadless pacemakers and traditional pacemakers.Background:Leadless pacemakers,which are increasingly used in clinical practice,have several advantages compared with traditional pacemakers in avoiding pocket-and lead-related complications.However,the clinical effect of leadless pacemakers remains controversial.Methods:PubMed,Embase,the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials(CENTRAL),the CNKI database,and the Wanfang database were searched from July 2013 to December 2019.Studies comparing leadless pacemakers and traditional pacemakers were included.The primary end point was major complications.The secondary end points were cardiac perforation/pericardial effusion,device revision or extraction,loss of device function,and death.Results:Six studies fulfi lled the inclusion criteria.Only four of the six studies reported data on major complications.Leadless pacemakers were associated with a lower incidence of major complications(risk ratio 0.33,95%confi dence interval 0.25–0.44,P<0.00001,I²=49%).We extracted data on cardiac perforation/pericardial effusion,device revision or extraction,loss of device function,and death from six studies.Our meta-analysis showed that leadless pacemakers have a higher risk of cardiac perforation or pericardial effusion(risk ratio 4.28,95%confi dence interval 1.66–11.08,P=0.003,I²=0%).No statistically signifi cant differences were found for mortality,device revision or extraction,and loss of device function.Conclusion:Compared with traditional pacemakers,leadless pacemakers have a signifi cantly decreased risk of major complications,but have a higher risk of cardiac perforation or pericardial effusion.Diyu Cui Yimeng Liao Jianlin Du Yunqing Chen 2021Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2021,,1:1
17Tracking the in vivo spatio-temporal patterns of neovascularization via NIR-II fluorescence imaging显示文摘The in vivo spatio-temporal patterns of neovascularization are still poorly understood because it is limited to multi-scale techniques from the cellular level to living animal level.Owing to deep tissue-penetration and zero autofluorescence background,the second near-infrared(NIR-II,1,000–1,700 nm)fluorescence imaging recently shows promise in breaking through this dilemma by dynamically tracking the pathophysiological process of neovascularization in vivo.Here,NIR-II fluorescence imaging was recruited for monitoring blood vessels in order to visualize the vascular injury and quantitively assess neovascularization in mouse models of acute skeleton muscle contusion and hindlimb ischemia.The temporal analysis of real-time NIR-II fluorescence intensity demonstrated that the blood flow perfusion of ischemia area was able to rapidly restore to 96%of pre-ischemic state within one week.Moreover,the spatial analysis revealed that the lower and outer quadrants of ischemia area in the mouse model of hindlimb ischemia always had relatively high blood flow perfusion compared with other quadrants during three weeks post-ischemia,and even exceeded pre-ischemic quantity at 21 days post-ischemia.In conclusion,this in vivo imaging technique has significant potential utility for studying the spatio-temporal patterns of neovascularization in vivo.Mo Chen Sijia Feng Yimeng Yang Yunxia Li Jian Zhang Shiyi Chen Jun Chen 2020Nano Research2020,13,11:1

20Temporal and Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Tornadoes in Liaoning Province and Countermeasures显示文摘Based on the data of tornadoes in Liaoning Province from 1951 to 2005,the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics of tornadoes were analyzed by means of moving average,Daniel trend test and other methods.The results show that the frequency of tornadoes in coastal areas was obviously higher than that in land.Tornadoes mainly occurred in the central plains,the coastal areas of Liaodong Peninsula and the junction of plain and sea.The frequency of tornadoes was the highest in the 1980s and the lowest in the 1990s,and suddenly increased in 2005.The occurrence of tornadoes had an obvious seasonal change.They mainly happened in summer,peaking in September.During a day,most of them appeared from 13:00 to 21:00,and lasted for only a few minutes to dozens of minutes.The frequency of tornadoes showed a significant downward trend during 1991-2000 and a significant upward trend during 1961-1970 and 2001-2005.There were eight serious tornadoes in the 55 years,among which the tornado occurring in 1988 was the severest,and the number of deaths caused by the tornado in 1969 was the largest.Haiyan SHU Xiaotong YANG Yimeng CHEN Qian TAO Zhenyu ZHAO Xiangyi CHANG 2022Meteorological and Environmental Research2022,13,6:0
