COVID-19 Outbreak Caused by Contaminated Packaging of Imported Cold-Chain Products—Liaoning Province,China,July 2020显示文摘Summary What is known about this topic?Few major outbreaks of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)have occurred in China after major nonpharmaceutical interventions and vaccines have been deployed and implemented. However, sporadic outbreaks that had high possibility to be linked to cold chain products were reported in several cities of China..What is added by this report? In July 2020,a COVID-19 outbreak occurred in Dalian,China. The investigations of this outbreak strongly suggested that the infection source was from COVID-19 virus-contaminated packaging of frozen seafood during inbound unloading personnel contact. What are the implications for public health practice?Virus contaminated paper surfaces could maintain infectivity for at least 17–24 days at-25℃.Exposure to COVID-19 virus-contaminated surfaces is a potential route for introducing the virus to a susceptible population.Countries with no domestic transmission of COVID-19 should consider introducing prevention strategies for both inbound travellers and imported goods.Several measures to prevent the introduction of the virus via cold-chain goods can be implemented.Huilai Ma1 Jianqun Zhang Ji Wang Ying Qin Cao Chen Yang Song Liang Wang Jun Meng Lingling Mao Fengqin Li Ning Li Jian Cai Yong Zhang Dayan Wang Yunting Xia Hong Wang Shaofeng Jiang Xiang Zhao Peihua Niu Wenjie Tan Tao Ma Yecheng Yao Naiying Mao Zhen Zhu Tianjiao Ji Qian Yang Baoying Huang Li Zhao Jianxing Yu Li Bai Shuangli Zhu Dongyan Wang Yan Zhang Yingwei Sun Mingchun Luan Yanhai Wang Haibo Sun Shihong Yang Zhijian Bo Xiang Ren Zhongjie Li George Fu Gao Wei Yao Wenqing Yao Zijian Feng Wenbo Xu 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,21:16
Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event.TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou 2018Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3:12
DEVELOPMENT OF EXPERIMENTAL METHODS FOR IMPACT TESTING BY COMBINING HOPKINSON PRESSURE BAR WITH OTHER TECHNIQUES显示文摘The split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB) technique and the wave propagation inverse analysis(WPIA) technique are both extensively used to experimentally investigate the impact behavior of materials, although neither of them alone provides a fully satisfactory analysis. In the present paper, attention is given to new experimental techniques by incorporating a damagemodified constitutive model into the SHPB technique and combining the Hopkinson pressure bar(HPB) technique with WPIA. First, to distinguish the response due to dynamic constitutive behavior and the response due to dynamic damage evolution, the SHPB method incorporating a damage-modified constitutive model is developed, including an explicit damage-modified Zhu–Wang–Tang model and an implicit damage-modified constitutive model. Second, when the SHPB results become invalid, a method of combining new Lagrange inverse analyses with the HPB technique is developed, including cases of the HPB arranged in front of a long specimen and behind the specimen. As examples of these new methods, typical results are given for nonlinear viscoelastic polymers and concretes considering damage evolution, a super-elastic Ti–Ni alloy with phase transformation and an aluminum foam with shock waves propagating within it.Lili Wang Shisheng Hu Liming Yang Zijian Sun Jue Zhu Huawei Lai Yuanyuan Ding 2014Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2014,27,4:9
Isolation of 2019-nCoV from a Stool Specimen of a Laboratory- Confirmed Case of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)显示文摘The novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV)is spreading very fast in Hubei Province of China. As of February 14,2020,51,986 confirmed cases(including laboratory-confirmed cases and clinically-confirmed cases)were reported in Hubei Province, and 1,318 of them died.Respiratory droplets and contact transmission are considered to be the most important routes of transmission of 2019-nCoV,but do not fully account for the occurrence of all coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)cases,previously known as novel coronavirus pneumonia(NCP),and the reasons for the rapid spread of this virus(1).Yong Zhang Cao Chen Shuangli Zhu Chang Shu Dongyan Wang Jingdong Song Yang Song Wei Zhen Zijian Feng Guizhen Wu Jun Xu Wenbo Xu 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,8:9
Gold nanoflowers for 3D volumetric molecular imaging of tumors by photoacoustic tomography显示文摘By binding molecular probes that target tumor cells, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with superior characteristics have shown great potential in tumor molecular imaging studies. The non-invasive, high-resolution, and three-dimensional imaging of the targeted AuNPs within the tumor is desirable for both diagnosis and therapy. In this study, gold nanoflowers (AuNFs) are presented as a novel contrast agent for photoacoustic tomography (PAT). By binding to folic acid, the molecular probe, the tail-vein injected AuNFs concentrated within the tumor site in mice; this was clearly visualized by three-dimensional (3D) PAT imaging. In addition, toxicity assay proved that AuNFs were harmless to living cells and animals. Our results demonstrate that AuNFs have great potential in tumor molecular imaging.Yuanyuan Jiang Zijian Deng Dan Yang Xin Deng Qi Li Yinlin Sha Changhui Li Dongsheng Xu 2015Nano Research2015,8,7:8

BODIPY-derived ratiometric fluorescent sensors: pH-regulated aggregation-induced emission and imaging application in cellular acidification triggered by crystalline silica exposure显示文摘Modification of classic fluorophore to possess the emission transitions between aggregation-induced emission(AIE)and intrinsic emission offers reliable approach to the design of ratiometric fluorescent sensors. In this study,a proton acceptor benzimidazole was integrated with BODIPY to form three compounds,BBI-1/2/3,which demonstrated the AIE(~595 nm,I_(agg))in neutral aqueous medium and intrinsic BODIPYemission(~510 nm,I_(int))in acidic medium. All the three showed the ratiometric pH sensing behavior in a dual excitation/dual emission mode, yet BBI-3 displayed still the dual emission ratiometric pH sensing ability. The pH-dependent emission ratio I_(int)/I_(agg)of the three were fully reversible, and no interference was observed from normal abundant chemical species in live cells.Their different p K_a(BBI-1,p K_a4.4;BBI-2,p K_a2.7;BBI-3,p K_a3.6)suggested that the substituents on benzimidazole moiety were essential to govern their functioning pH range. The ratiometric imaging of BBI-1 in A549 cells provided an effective intracellular pH(pH_i)calibration formula corresponding to emission ratio of I_(int)/I_(agg).Ratiometric pH_iimaging in A549 cells upon small particle exposure confirmed the particle-induced cellular acidification with this formula. Both particle size and the chemical nature of the particle contribute to the observed acidification effect. The synchronization of lysosome disruption to cellular acidification in A549 cells upon crystalline silica exposure was directly observed for the first time with BBI-1,showing the potential application of BBI-1 in the study of silicosis and other related diseases. This study demonstrated that endowing fluorophore with AIE/intrinsic emission transition could be a promising strategy for ratiometric sensor design.Yang Bai Danyang Liu Zhong Han Yuncong Chen Zhongyan Chen Yang Jiao Weijiang He Zijian Guo 2018Science China Chemistry2018,61,11:4

Polymer matrix mediated solvation of LiNO3 in carbonate electrolytes for quasi-solid high-voltage lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium(Li)metal is one of the most promising anodes for next-generation energy storage systems. However, the Li dendrite formation and unstable solid-electrolyte interface(SEI)have hindered its further application.Lithium nitrate(LiNO3)is extensively used as an effective electrolyte additive in ether-based electrolytes to improve the stability of lithium metal.Nevertheless,it is rarely utilized in carbonate electrolytes due to its low solubility. Here,a novel gel polymer electrolyte(GPE)consisting of poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF),poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA),poly(ethylene oxide)(PEO)with LiN03 additive is proposed to solve this issue. In this GPE,polyether-based PEO serves as a matrix for dissolving LiNO3 which can be decomposed into a fast Li-ion conductor(Li3N)in conventional carbonate electrolytes to enhance the stability and Li^+conductivity of the SEI film.As a result, dendrite formation is effectively suppressed, and a significantly improved average Coulombic efficiency(CE)of 97.2%in Li-Cu cell is achieved.By using this novel GPE coupled with Li anode and LiNi0.5Mn0.3Co0.2O2(NMC532),excellent capacity retention of 94.1%and high average CE of over 99.2%are obtained after 200 cycles at 0.5 C.This work presents fresh insight into practical modification strategies on high-voltage Li metal batteries.Zijian Wang Kai Yang Yongli Song Hai Lin Ke Li Yanhui Cui Luyi Yang Feng Pan 2020Nano Research2020,13,9:3
Detection and Initial Response to a Type 2 Vaccine-Derived Poliovirus—Sichuan Province,China,2019显示文摘What is already known about this topic? After the type 2 strain of the live, attenuated poliovirus vaccine was withdrawn globally in 2016,any identification of a type 2 poliovirus is a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.A vaccinederived type 2 poliovirus(VDPV2)was identified in Sichuan, prompting an urgent, comprehensive investigation and response. What is added by this report?Type 2 monovalent, live, attenuated oral poliovirus vaccine(mOPV2)is being used to respond to the numerous VDPV2 outbreaks seen around the world. In contrast, the response in Sichuan used Sabin strain inactivated poliovirus(sIPV)to stop circulation of the VDPV2.In the 6 months following the vaccination response, there have been no VDPV2s detected in Sichuan, despite extensive search. What are the implications for public health practices?Further search for the VDPV2 must continue in order to determine whether transmission has been stopped. The ongoing investigation and response to the Sichuan VDPV2 is providing evidence to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative on managing VDPV2 outbreaks.Jiushun Zhou Ning Wen Yong Zhang Qi Qi Chunxiang Fan Dongmei Yan Xiaoping Zhu Lixin Hao Shuangli Zhu Yu Liu Xiaozhen Ma Chao Ma Lei Nan Yong Chen Qianli Ma Cheng Wang Kun Deng Lei Cao Ge Shao Xianxiang Ding Hong Yang Zhijie An Lance ERodewald Aiqiang Xu Huaqing Wang Zijian Feng Zundong Yin Xianping Wu Wenbo Xu 2020China CDC weekly2020,2,11:3
Plant multiscale networks:charting plant connectivity by multi-level analysis and imaging techniques显示文摘In multicellular and even single-celled organisms, individual components are interconnected at multiscale levels to produce enormously complex biological networks that help these systems maintain homeostasis for development and environmental adaptation.Systems biology studies initially adopted network analysis to explore how relationships between individual components give rise to complex biological processes.Network analysis has been applied to dissect the complex connectivity of mammalian brains across different scales in time and space in The Human Brain Project. In plant science, network analysis has similarly been applied to study the connectivity of plant components at the molecular, subcellular, cellular, organic, and organism levels.Analysis of these multiscale networks contributes to our understanding of how genotype determines phenotype. In this review,we summarized the theoretical framework of plant multiscale networks and introduced studies investigating plant networks by various experimental and computational modalities. We next discussed the currently available analytic methodologies and multi-level imaging techniques used to map multiscale networks in plants. Finally,we highlighted some of the technical challenges and key questions remaining to be addressed in this emerging field.Xi Zhang Yi Man Xiaohong Zhuang Jinbo Shen Yi Zhang Yaning Cui Meng Yu Jingjing Xing Guangchao Wang Na Lian Zijian Hu Lingyu Ma Weiwei Shen Shunyao Yang Huimin Xu Jiahui Bian Yanping Jing Xiaojuan Li Ruili Li Tonglin Mao Yuling Jiao Sodmergen Haiyun Ren Jinxing Lin 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,9:3

Comparative toxicity study of a novel non-ionic surfactant, vanillin ethoxylates, and nonylphenol ethoxylates in Chinese hamster ovary cells in vitro显示文摘Surfactants such as alkylphenol polyethoxylates(APEOs) and nonylphenol ethoxylates(NPEOs) are commonly used worldwide, but the majority of these compounds, together with their metabolites, have been reported to induce severe biological toxicity. Here, we evaluated for the first time the cytotoxicity, genotoxicity and mitochondrial damage in Chinese hamster ovary(CHO-K1) cells caused by a novel non-ionic surfactant, vanillin ethoxylates(VAEOs), an alternative to APEOs. In parallel, the same in vitro bioassays were conducted on NPEOs along with their metabolic byproducts 4-nonylphenol(4-NP) and vanillin. The results showed that the cytotoxic potency order was NPEOs > 4-NP > VAEOs>vanillin using CCK-8 assays. Also, 4-NP showed potential direct DNA damage in SOS/umu tests, whereas NPEOs, VAEOs and vanillin showed no positive result with and without S9 addition. In addition, none of the test compounds showed obvious genotoxic effects with low olive tail moment value using comet assays. However, all test compounds were shown to cause mitochondrial impairment by increasing mitochondrial mass and decreasing mitochondrial membrane potential in a concentration-dependent manner. And further analysis of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and mitochondrial superoxide(MNSOD)measurement showed that mitochondrial impairment was induced by oxidative stress with intracellular ROS and MNSOD overproduction. It's worth noting that VAEOs and vanillin cause relative lower cytotoxic, genotoxic and mitochondrial damage effects than NPEOs and 4-NP, indicating that VAEOs have the potential to substitute NPEOs as suitable surfactants. Take together, this study elucidates the toxicity profiles of VAEOs and NPEOs relatively comprehensively, and further toxicity analyses are suggested in the population, community and ecosystem.Shengwu Yuan Xiaoya Ji Mei Ma Fengmei Ding Kaifeng Rao Zijian Wang Rong Yang Yihong Liu 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,8:3
Nanoscale monitoring of mitochondria and lysosome interactions for drug screening and discover显示文摘Technology advances in genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics largely expanded the pool of potential therapeutic targets.Compared with the in vitro setting,cell-based screening assays have been playing a key role in the processes of drug discovery and development.Besides the commonly used strategies based on colorimetric and cell viability,we reason that methods that capture the dynamic cellular events will facilitate optimal hit identification with high sensitivity and specificity.Herein,we propose a live-cell screening strategy using structured illumination microscopy (SIM) combined with an automated cell colocalization analysis software,CellprofilerTM,to screen and discover drugs for mitochondria and lysosomes interaction at a nanoscale resolution in living cells. This strategy quantitatively benchmarks the mitochondria-lysosome interactions such as mitochondria and lysosomes contact (MLC) and mitophagy. The automatic quantitative analysis also resolves fine changes of the mitochondria-lysosome interaction in response to genetic and pharmacological interventions.Super-resolution live-cell imaging on the basis of quantitative analysis opens up new avenues for drug screening and development by targeting dynamic organelle interactions at the nanoscale resolution, which could facilitate optimal hit identification and potentially shorten the cycle of drug discovery.Qixin Chen Xintian Shao Zhiqi Tian Yang Chen Payel Mondal Fei Liu Fengshan Wang Peixue Ling Weijiang He Kai Zhang Zijian Guo Jiajie Diao 2019Nano Research2019,12,5:2

A learning-based flexible autonomous motion control method for UAV in dynamic unknown environments显示文摘This paper presents a deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based motion control method to provide unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)with additional flexibility while flying across dynamic unknown environments autonomously. This method is applicable in both military and civilian fields such as penetration and rescue. The autonomous motion control problem is addressed through motion planning, action interpretation, trajectory tracking, and vehicle movement within the DRL framework.Novel DRL algorithms are presented by combining two difference-amplifying approaches with traditional DRL methods and are used for solving the motion planning problem. An improved Lyapunov guidance vector field(LGVF)method is used to handle the trajectory-tracking problem and provide guidance control commands for the UAV.In contrast to conventional motion-control approaches, the proposed methods directly map the sensorbased detections and measurements into control signals for the inner loop of the UAV,i.e.,an end-to-end control. The training experiment results show that the novel DRL algorithms provide more than a 20%performance improvement over the state-ofthe-art DRL algorithms. The testing experiment results demonstrate that the controller based on the novel DRL and LGVF,which is only trained once in a static environment, enables the UAV to fly autonomously in various dynamic unknown environments. Thus, the proposed technique provides strong flexibility for the controller.WAN Kaifang LI Bo GAO Xiaoguang HU Zijian YANG Zhipeng 2021Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2021,32,6:2

Design of Pd{111}-TiO_2 interface for enhanced catalytic efficiency towards formic acid decomposition显示文摘Supports are commonly implemented in the industrial application of heterogeneous catalysts to improve the stability and recyclability of catalysts. The supported catalysts often show the enhanced activity and selectivity in various catalytic reactions. However, the specific contributions of electronic and steric effects to a catalytic system often remain elusive due to the lack of well-defined model systems. In this work, two types of uniform Pd nanocrystals covered by{111}facets in tetrahedral and octahedral shapes, respectively, are synthesized with identical chemical environment and loaded on Ti O_2supports to form hybrid structures(Pd{111}-Ti O_2)towards the application of formic acid decomposition. Our observation suggests that the polarization effect at the interface of Pd-Ti O_2enhances its activity in formic acid decomposition. Moreover, the Pd tetrahedrons-Ti O_2hybrid structure whose Pd{111}-Ti O_2interface possesses a larger angle shows higher catalytic activity, owing to the reduced steric effect as compared to Pd octahedrons-Ti O_2.This study reveals the nature of interface effects in formic acid decomposition, and provides a guidance for the related catalyst design.Yang You Hao Huang Song Xia Zijian Cai Panyiming Liu Chengming Wang Ran Long Li Song Yujie Xiong 2018Science China Chemistry2018,61,9:2
