| 1 | Manganese is critical for antitumor immune responses via cGAS-STING and improves the efficacy of clinical immunotherapy显示文摘CD8^+T cell-mediated cancer clearance is often suppressed by the interaction between inhibitory molecules like PD-1 and PD-L1,an interaction acts like brakes to prevent T cell overreaction under normal conditions but is exploited by tumor cells to escape the immune surveillance.Immune checkpoint inhibitors have revolutionized cancer therapeutics by removing such brakes.Unfortunately,only a minority of cancer patients respond to immunotherapies presumably due to inadequate immunity.Antitumor immunity depends on the activation of the cGAS-STING pathway,as STING-deficient mice fail to stimulate tumor-infiltrating dendritic cells(DCs)to activate CD8^+T cells.STING agonists also enhance natural killer(NK)cells to mediate the clearance of CD8^+T cell-resistant tumors.Therefore STING agonists have been intensively sought after.We previously discovered that manganese(Mn)is indispensable for the host defense against cytosolic dsDNA by activating cGAS-STING.Here we report that Mn is also essential in innate immune sensing of tumors and enhances adaptive immune responses against tumors.Mn-insufficient mice had significantly enhanced tumor growth and metastasis,with greatly reduced tumor-infiltrating CD8^+T cells.Mechanically,Mn^2+promoted DC and macrophage maturation and tumor-specific antigen presentation,augmented CD8^+T cell differentiation,activation and NK cell activation,and increased memory CD8^+T cells.Combining Mn^2+with immune checkpoint inhibition synergistically boosted antitumor efficacies and reduced the anti-PD-1 antibody dosage required in mice.Importantly,a completed phase 1 clinical trial with the combined regimen of Mn^2+and anti-PD-1 antibody showed promising efficacy,exhibiting type I IFN induction,manageable safety and revived responses to immunotherapy in most patients with advanced metastatic solid tumors.We propose that this combination strategy warrants further clinical translation. | Mengze Lv Meixia Chen Rui Zhang Wen Zhang Chenguang Wang Yan Zhang Xiaoming Wei Yukun Guan Jiejie Liu Kaichao Feng Miao Jing Xurui Wang Yun-Cai Liu Qian Mei Weidong Han Zhengfan Jiang | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,11: | 27 |

| 3 | Volume fractal dimension of soil particles and relationships with soil physical-chemical properties and plant species diversity in an alpine grassland under different disturbance degrees显示文摘Fractal geometry is an important method in soil science,and many studies have used fractal theory to examine soil properties and the relationships with other eco-environmental factors.However,there have been few studies examining soil particle volume fractal dimension in alpine grasslands.To study the volume fractal dimension of soil particles(D) and its relationships with soil salt,soil nutrient and plant species diversity,we conducted an experiment on an alpine grassland under different disturbance degrees:non-disturbance(N 0),light disturbance(L),moderate disturbance(M) and heavy disturbance(H).The results showed that(1) Ds varied from 2.573 to 2.635 among the different disturbance degrees and increased with increasing degrees of disturbance.(2) Shannon-Wiener diversity index,Pielou's evenness index and Margalef richness index reached their highest values at the M degree,indicating that moderate disturbance is beneficial to the increase of plant species diversity.(3) In the L and M degrees,there was a significant positive correlation between D and clay content and a significant negative correlation between D and soil organic matter(SOM).In the H degree,D was significantly and positively correlated with total salt(TS).The results suggested that to a certain extent,D can be used to characterize the uniformity of soil texture in addition to soil fertility characteristics.(4) For the L degree,there was a significant negative correlation between D and the Shannon-Wiener diversity index;while for the M degree,there was a significant negative correlation between D and Pielou's evenness index. | YanYan LIU YanMing GONG Xin WANG YuKun HU | 2013 | Journal of Arid Land2013,5,4: | 18 |

| 7 | Resveratrol compares with melatonin in improving in vitro porcine oocyte maturation under heat stress显示文摘Background: Resveratrol, an important phyto-antioxidant commonly found in grapes, mulberry, and other plants,has a variety of functions including anti-aging, anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory activities. In the current study, we investigated the beneficial effects of resveratrol on in vitro porcine oocyte maturation under heat stress(HS). The effect of resveratrol, melatonin and their combination on alleviating HS was compared according to the maturation rate of oocytes and the development competence of embryos after parthenogenetic activation(PA).Results: Supplementation with resveratrol(2.0 μmol/L) not only improved the nuclear maturation but also raised the blastocyst rate of porcine embryos' PA from oocytes that underwent HS by increasing their glutathione(GSH)level, reducing reactive oxygen species(ROS) and up-regulating the expression of Sirtuin 1(SIRT1). It was also found that melatonin(10^(-7)mol/L) and the combination of resveratrol(2.0 μmol/L) plus melatonin(10^(-7)mol/L) exhibited more potent effects than resveratrol alone regarding their protective activities on oocyte maturation under HS.Conclusions: This study compared the efficiencies of resveratrol, melatonin and their combination for protecting porcine oocytes from heat stress. | 9 | Effects of Yishengukang decoction on expression of bone-specific alkaline phosphatase,carboxyterminal propeptide of typeⅠprocollagen,and carboxyterminal cross-linked telepeptide of typeⅠcollagen in malignant tumor patients with bone metastasis显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Yishengukang decoction on the expression of the metabolic bone markers, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase(BAP), carboxyterminal propeptide of type Ⅰ procollagen(PICP), and carboxyterminal cross-linked telepeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(ICTP), in cancer patients with bone metastasis.METHODS: Patients(n = 180) were divided into three groups:(a) bone metastasis patients treated with Yishengukang and pamidronate disodium injection(treatment group, n = 60);(b) bone metastasis patients treated with pamidronate disodium injection alone(control group, n = 60);(c) cancer patients without metastatic bone lesion(non-bone metastasis group, n = 60). Serum levels of the metabolic markers BAP, PICP, and ICTP were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay pre- and post-therapy.RESULTS: A significant decrease in serum BAP level was observed in the treatment group compared with the control group. However there were no significant differences in serum levels of PICP and ICTP before or after treatment compared with the control group.CONCLUSION: Yishengukang decoction combined with pamidronate disodium injection reduced serum BAP level to a greater extent that pamidronate disodium injection alone. | 14 | Combination of ablative fractional carbon dioxide laser and platelet-rich plasma treatment to improve hypertrophic scars:a retrospective clinical observational study显示文摘Background:Hypertrophic scars are one of the main complications that affect the quality of life of patients after burns.Many methods have been shown to be effective in the treatment of hypertrophic scars,such as ablative fractional CO_(2) laser(AFCL)and platelet-rich plasma(PRP).However,there are few studies on the effect of the combined application of these measures.The purpose of this study was to explore the therapeutic effect of AFCL combined with PRP on hypertrophic burn scars.Methods:A retrospective clinical observation study was conducted on 50 patients with hypertrophic burn scars.The AFCL+PRP group included 31 patients who received AFCL combined with PRP treatment;the AFCL group included 19 patients who received AFCL treatment only.The University of North Carolina 4P Scar Scale(UNC4P)and the Vancouver Scar Scale(VSS)scores that were collected before each treatment were used as indicators of the effectiveness of the previous treatment.The scores recorded at the second,fourth and seventh months were analysed.Results:The demographic data of the 2 groups were not significantly different.Before treatment,therewas no difference in the UNC4P and VSS scores between the 2 groups.Therewas a significant decline in the UNC4P and VSS total scores over 6 months in both groups(p<0.05)and scores in the 2 groups were comparable after 3 and 6 months(p<0.05).UNC4P scores in the AFCL+PRP group decreased from a mean of 8.26 to 2.61(p<0.05)with a concomitant drop in VSS scores from a mean of 11.74 to 6.06(p<0.01).In the AFCL group UNC4P and VSS scores decreased from 7.68 to 4.63(p<0.05)and from 10.89 to 8.16(p<0.05),respectively.The sub-items of these 2 assessments were analysed and the results suggest that AFCL combined with PRP can comprehensively improve scarring.Conclusions:This study shows that PRP is an effective adjunct for AFCL in the treatment of hypertrophic burn scars and that the combination of PRP and AFCL proved to be more useful than AFCL alone.This combination may be a new and effective clinical practice for the treatment of scars.However,larger and higher-level clinical studies are still needed to determine its efficacy and possible mechanisms. | Zhanzhan Dai Xiaozhen Lou Tuo Shen Yu Sun Yongqiang Xiao Xingfeng Zheng Xuexin Wang Yu Peng Yukun Guo Yibin Guo Jiannan Wen He Fang Bing Ma Zhaofan Xia | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 4 |

| 18 | Calibration procedures for the CHASE/HIS science data显示文摘The Hα line is an important optical line in solar observations containing the information from the photosphere to the chromosphere. To study the mechanisms of solar eruptions and the plasma dynamics in the lower atmosphere, the Chinese Hα Solar Explorer(CHASE) was launched into a Sun-synchronous orbit on October 14, 2021. The scientific payload of the CHASE satellite is the Hα Imaging Spectrograph(HIS). The CHASE/HIS acquires, for the first time, seeing-free Hα spectroscopic observations with high spectral and temporal resolutions. It consists of two observational modes. The raster scanning mode provides full-Sun or region-of-interest spectra at Hα(6559.7-6565.9 ?) and Fe I(6567.8-6570.6 ?) wavebands. The continuum imaging mode obtains full-Sun photospheric images at around 6689 ?. | 19 | Targeting fatty acid synthase sensitizes human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells to radiationvia downregulating frizzled class receptor 10显示文摘Objective:Our aim was to test the hypothesis that fatty acid synthase(FASN)expression contributes to radioresistance of nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)cells and that inhibiting FASN enhances radiosensitivity.Methods:Targeting FASN using epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG)or RNA interference in NPC cell lines that overexpress endogenous FASN was performed to determine their effects on cellular response to radiationin vitro using MTT and colony formation assays,andin vivo using xenograft animal models.Western blot,immunohistochemistry,real-time PCR arrays,and real-time RT-PCR were used to determine the relationship between FASN and frizzled class receptor 10(FZD10)expression.FZD10 knockdown and overexpression were used to determine its role in mediating FASN function in cellular response to radiation.Immunohistochemical staining was used to determine FASN and FZD10 expressions in human NPC tissues,followed by analysis of their association with the overall survival of patients.Results:FASN knockdown or inhibition significantly enhanced radiosensitivity of NPC cells,bothin vitro andin vivo.There was a positive association between FASN and FZD10 expression in NPC cell lines grown as monolayers or xenografts,as well as human tissues.FASN knockdown reduced FZD10 expression,and rescue of FZD10 expression abolished FASN knockdown-induced enhancement of radiosensitivity.FASN and FZD10 were both negatively associated with overall survival of NPC patients.Conclusions:FASN contributes to radioresistance,possiblyvia FZD10 in NPC cells.Both FZD10 and FASN expressions were associated with poor outcomes of NPC patients.EGCG may sensitize radioresistance by inhibiting FASN and may possibly be developed as a radiosensitizer for better treatment of NPCs. | Jiongyu Chen Fan Zhang Xiaosha Ren Yahui Wang Wenhe Huang Jianting Zhang Yukun Cui | 2020 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2020,17,3: | 3 |
| 20 | Development of microstructural inhomogeneity in multi-pass flow forming of TA15 alloy cylindrical parts显示文摘Revealing the development of microstructural inhomogeneity in the multi-pass flow forming of titanium alloy components is of great significance to the microstructure control and property tailoring.To this end,the microstructural inhomogeneity of TA15 alloy spun cylindrical parts was analyzed based on the deformation history.The results indicate that the material underwent significant compressive strain in the normal direction(ND),tension strain in the rolling and circumferential directions(RD and CD),while tension strain in the CD is slightly small due to the limited material flow in this direction.These strain characteristics make the microstructure,especially the primary a(ap),present different morphologies in the different planes of the part.Meanwhile,the combined effects of inhomogeneous deformation and temperature distribution in the ND also cause the inhomogeneity of microstructure morphology and parameters in this direction.Quantitative analyses show that with the forming pass increasing,the aspect ratio of apincreases most in the normal-rolling plane,then in the normal-circumferential plane and least in the circumferential-rolling plane,whereas apcontent decreases in an opposite trend.Along the ND,the aspect ratio and content of apis relatively high in the outer and inner surface areas but lowest in the central area,and these inhomogeneous characteristics can be gradually diminished with the forming pass increasing.Furthermore,the variation of hardness inhomogeneity factor indicates that a four-pass forming with the total reduction ratio of 63%could obtain a homogenous microstructure along the ND of the TA15 alloy spun cylindrical part. | Xianxian WANG Pengfei GAO Mei ZHAN Ke YANG Yunda DONG Yukun LI | 2020 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,7: | 3 |
