Buyang Huanwu decoction is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of stroke. 3A Combination of N2 and CO2 Adsorption to Characterize Nanopore Structure of Organic-Rich Lower Silurian Shale in the Upper Yangtze Platform, South China: Implications for Shale Gas Sorption Capacity显示文摘The pores in shales are mainly of nanometer-scale,and their pore size distribution is very important for the preservation and exploitation of shale gas.This study focused on the organic-rich Lower Silurian black shale from four wells in the Upper Yangtze Platform,and their TOC,mineralogical composition and pore characterization were investigated.Low pressure N_2 and CO_2 adsorption were conducted at 77.35 K and 273.15 K,respectively,and the pore structures were characterized by modified Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET),Dubinin-Radushkevich(DR),t-plot,BarrettJoyner-Halenda(BJH) and density functional theory(DFT) methods and then the relationship between pore structure and shale gas sorption capacity was discussed.The results indicate that(1) The Lower Silurian shale has high TOC content of 0.92%-4.96%,high quartz content of 30.6%-69.5%,and high clays content of 24.1%-51.2%.The total specific surface area varies from 7.56 m^2/g to 25.86 m^2/g.Both the total specific surface area and quartz content are positively associated with the TOC content.(2)Shale samples with higher TOC content have more micropores,which results in more complex nanopore structure.Micropore volumes/surface areas and non-micropore surface areas all increase with the increasing TOC content.(3) A combination of N_2 and CO_2 adsorption provides the most suitable detection range(~0.3-60 nm) and has high reliability and accuracy for nanopore structure characterization.(4) The TOC content is the key factor to control the gas sorption capacity of the Lower Silurian shale in the Upper Yangtze Platform.CHEN Lei JIANG Zhenxue LIU Keyu GAO Fenglin WANG Pengfei 2017Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,4:21

5Differential study of DCE-MRI parameters in spinal metastatic tumors, brucellar spondylitis and spinal tuberculosis显示文摘Objective: In the present study, spinal metastatic tumors, brucellar spondylitis and spinal tuberculosis were quantitatively analyzed using dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging(DCE-MRI) to assess the value of DCE-MRI in the differential diagnosis of these diseases.Methods: Patients with brucellar spondylitis, spinal tuberculosis or a spinal metastatic tumor(30 cases of each)received conventional MRI and DCE-MRI examination. The volume transfer constant(K^(trans)), rate constant(K_(ep)),extravascular extracellular volume fraction(V_e) and plasma volume fraction(V_p) of the diseased vertebral bodies were measured on the perfusion parameter map, and the differences in these parameters between the patients were compared.Results: For pathological vertebrae in cases of spinal metastatic tumor, brucellar spondylitis and spinal tuberculosis, respectively, the K^(trans) values(median ± quartile pitch) were 0.989±0.014, 0.720±0.011 and0.317±0.005 min^(–1); the K_(ep) values were 2.898±0.055, 1.327±0.017 and 0.748±0.006 min^(–1); the V_e values were 0.339±0.008, 0.542±0.013 and 0.428±0.018; the V_p values were 0.048±0.008, 0.035±0.004 and 0.028±0.009; the corresponding H values were 50.25(for K_(trans)), 52.47(for K_(ep)), 48.33(for V_e) and 46.56(for V_p), and all differences were statistically significant(two-sided P<0.05).Conclusions: The quantitative analysis of DCE-MRI has a certain value in the differential diagnosis of spinal metastatic tumor, brucellar spondylitis and spinal tuberculosis.Pengfei Qiao Pengfei Zhao Yang Gao Yuzhen Bai Guangming Niu 2018Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,4:16
6Unequal-thickness billet optimization in transitional region during isothermal local loading forming of Ti-alloy rib-web component using response surface method显示文摘Avoiding the folding defect and improving the die filling capability in the transitional region are desired in isothermal local loading forming of a large-scale Ti-alloy rib-web component(LTRC). To achieve a high-precision LTRC, the folding evolution and die filling process in the transitional region were investigated by 3 D finite element simulation and experiment using an equal-thickness billet(ETB). It is found that the initial volume distribution in the second-loading region can greatly affect the amount of material transferred into the first-loading region during the second-loading step, and thus lead to the folding defect. Besides, an improper initial volume distribution results in non-concurrent die filling in the cavities of ribs after the second-loading step, and then causes die underfilling. To this end, an unequal-thickness billet(UTB) was employed with the initial volume distribution optimized by the response surface method(RSM). For a certain eigenstructure, the critical value of the percentage of transferred material determined by the ETB was taken as a constraint condition for avoiding the folding defect in the UTB optimization process,and the die underfilling rate was considered as the optimization objective. Then, based on the RSM models of the percentage of transferred material and the die underfilling rate, non-folding parameter combinations and optimum die filling were achieved. 7Status and distribution changes of the endangered Green Peafowl (Pavo muticus) in China over the past three decades (1990s-2017)显示文摘Background: Understanding the changes in population dynamics, including demographics, distribution and threats, is essential for species status assessing. The endangered Green Peafowl(Pavo muticus) has experienced sharp population declines and distribution range diminishing both in China and Southeast Asia. Field population surveys have not been conducted in China since the 1990 s, which hindered conservation planning and decision-making.Methods: With interview and line transects methods, we figured out the population and distribution changes of Green Peafowl across its historical ranges over the past three decades in China during 2014-2017.Results: The Green Peafowl once habituated in 54 counties in China. Nearly 60% of the distribution counties were lost in the past three decades, with the left 22 counties distributed in central, southern and western Yunnan, SW China. Population decrease detected in all distribution areas except for Shuangbai and Xinping county where more than 60% of the total population is located. Only about 30% of the former bird population were recorded with the same interviewing method as 20 years ago. Three birds, 1 carcass, 6 calls and 12 footprints were detected along the 865 km line transects, indic-ating extremely low encounter rate of Green Peafowl in field. Sharp decreases in flock sizes were also detected, from 820 birds per flock in the 1990 s to 3-5 birds at present. Poaching and habitat conversion are two widespread and long-lasting threats, while poisoning caused mortality in the past and hydropower construction affect regional population's survival. Large flocks of 18–27 birds were discovered in the field, which increases our confidence of population recovery of this endangered pheasant in China.Conclusions: Only interviewed bird number and counts based on line transects were presented in this study, without further population estimation due to limitation of the data sets. 8Current Status and Future Challenges of Weather Radar Polarimetry: Bridging the Gap between Radar Meteorology/Hydrology/Engineering and Numerical Weather Prediction显示文摘After decades of research and development, the WSR-88 D(NEXRAD) network in the United States was upgraded with dual-polarization capability, providing polarimetric radar data(PRD) that have the potential to improve weather observations,quantification, forecasting, and warnings. The weather radar networks in China and other countries are also being upgraded with dual-polarization capability. Now, with radar polarimetry technology having matured, and PRD available both nationally and globally, it is important to understand the current status and future challenges and opportunities. The potential impact of PRD has been limited by their oftentimes subjective and empirical use. More importantly, the community has not begun to regularly derive from PRD the state parameters, such as water mixing ratios and number concentrations, used in numerical weather prediction(NWP) models.In this review, we summarize the current status of weather radar polarimetry, discuss the issues and limitations of PRD usage, and explore potential approaches to more efficiently use PRD for quantitative precipitation estimation and forecasting based on statistical retrieval with physical constraints where prior information is used and observation error is included. This approach aligns the observation-based retrievals favored by the radar meteorology community with the model-based analysis of the NWP community. 9Percent free prostate-specific antigen for prostate cancer diagnosis in Chinese men with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL:Results from the Chinese Prostate Cancer Consortium显示文摘Objective:To test the diagnostic performance of percent free prostate-specific antigen(%fPSA)in predicting any prostate cancer(PCa)and high-grade prostate cancer(HGPCa)in a retrospective multi-center biopsy cohort with a PSA level of 4.0e10.0 ng/mL in China.Methods:Consecutive patients with a PSA of 4.0-10.0 ng/mL who underwent transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy were enrolled at 16 Chinese medical centers from January 1st,2010 to December 31st,2013.Total and free serum PSA determinations were performed using three types of electro-chemiluminescence immunoassays recalibrated to the World Health Organization(WHO)standard.The diagnostic accuracy of PSA,%fPSA,and %fPSA in combination with PSA(%fPSA t PSA)was determined using the area under the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve(AUC).Results:A total of 2310 consecutive men with PSA levels between 4.0 and 10.0 ng/mL were included,and the detection rate of PCa was 25.1%.The AUC of%fPSA and %fPSA t PSA in predicting any PCa was superior to PSA alone in men aged≥60 years(0.623 vs.0.534,p<0.0001)but not in men aged 40e59 years(0.517 vs.0.518,p=0.939).Similar result was yield in predicting HGPCa.Conclusion:In a clinical setting of Chinese men with 4.0e10.0 ng/mL PSA undergoing initial prostate biopsy,adding %fPSA to PSA can moderately improve the diagnostic accuracy for any PCa and HGPCa compared with PSA alone in patients≥60 but not in patients aged 40-59 years.Rui Chen Liping Xie Xiaobing Cai Yiran Huang Liqun Zhou Lulin Ma Xu Gao Chuanliang Xu Shancheng Ren Pengfei Shao Danfeng Xu Kexin Xu Zhangqun Ye Chunxiao Liu Dingwei Ye Li Lu Qiang Fu Jianquan Hou Jianlin Yuan Dalin He Tie Zhou Fubo Wang Biming He Yinghao Sun 2015Asian Journal of Urology2015,2,2:8

11Flavonoid content and radical scavenging activity in fruits of Chinese dwarf cherry(Cerasus humilis) genotypes显示文摘The Chinese dwarf cherry(Cerasus humilis(Bge.) Sok.) is a small shrub with edible fruits. It is native to northern and western China. This species was included as a medicinal plant in the ‘‘Chinese Pharmacopeia'' and has emerged as an economically important crop for fresh fruit consumption, processing into juice and wine and nutraceutical products as well. To gain a better understanding of flavonoid biosynthesis and help develop value added products and better cultivars with greater health benefits, we analyzed total flavonoid content(TFC), composition, and radical scavenging activities in fruit extracts of 16 Chinese dwarf cherry genotypes. Fruit peel TFC ranged from 33.5 to72.8 mg/g REáFW(RE: rutin equivalent, FW: fresh weight)while fruit flesh TFC ranged from 4.3 to 16.9 mg/g REáFW.An HPLC analysis revealed that fruit extracts contained 14 flavonoids with considerable variation in their profiles across genotypes. The most abundant flavonoids in most genotypes were proanthocyanidin B1(PA-B1), proanthocyanidin B2(PA-B2), phloretin 20-O-glucoside(PG), and phloretin 20,40-O-diglucoside(PDG). Principal component analysis showed that PG, PA-B1, and PA-B2 had large,positive factor loading values in the first principal component for each genotype. Increased scavenging activity of2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) radicals was apparent in genotypes ‘Nongda 4', ‘Nongda 3', ‘Nongda 6',‘Wenfenli', and '10-32', suggesting promising applications in the production of nutraceutical products. 12Rational design of MoS_(2) nanosheets decorated on mesoporous hollow carbon spheres as a dual-functional accelerator in sulfur cathode for advanced pouch-type Li–S batteries显示文摘Developing sulfur cathodes with high catalytic activity on accelerating the sluggish redox kinetics of lithium polysulfides(Li PSs) and unveiling their mechanisms are pivotal for advanced lithium–sulfur(Li–S)batteries. Herein, MoS2 is verified to reduce the Gibbs free energy for rate-limiting step of sulfur reduction and the dissociation energy of lithium sulfide(Li2 S) for the first time employing theoretical calculations. The Mo S2 nanosheets coated on mesoporous hollow carbon spheres(MHCS) are then reasonably designed as a sulfur host for high-capacity and long-life Li–S battery, in which MHCS can guarantee the high sulfur loading and fast electron/ion transfer. It is revealed that the shuttle effect is efficiently inhibited because of the boosted conversion of Li PSs. As a result, the coin cell based on the MHCS@Mo S2-S cathode exhibits stable cycling performance maintaining 735.7 mAh g^(-1) after 500 cycles at 1.0 C. More importantly, the pouch cell employing the MHCS@Mo S2-S cathodes achieves high specific capacity of1353.2 m Ah g^(-1) and prominent cycle stability that remaining 960.0 m Ah g^(-1) with extraordinary capacity retention of 79.8% at 0.1 C after 170 cycles. 13On the modification of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys using rare earth Er显示文摘Hypereutectic Al-17.5Si (wt pct) and Al-25Si (wt pct) alloys with various content of rare earth Er were prepared by conventional casting technique. The effect of Er on the microstructure and properties of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys was investigated using optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy as well as friction and wear tests. It was found that optimal amount of Er exists in modifying the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys. An appropriate addition of Er improved the anti-wear properties, and reduced the friction coefficient of the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys studied. The primary silicon crystals in the hypereutectic Al-Si alloys were refined with the suitable addition of Er element. 15Effect of feeding Lactobacillus plantarum P-8 on the faecal microbiota of broiler chickens exposed to lincomycin显示文摘Poultry and eggs are nutritious and healthy foods that contain high-quality proteins and low levels of fat compared with other meats. Recent studies have shown that poultry performance is closely associated with colonic health. Antibiotics are commonly used in the poultry industry to control diseases and enhance survival rates. However, antibiotic use can also result in host gut dysbiosis and immune dysregulation. Such imbalances compromise poultry health and growth performance. Thus, our study investigated the effect of Lactobacillus(L.) plantarum P-8 on the gut microbiome of chickens co-inoculated with the antibiotic lincomycin. Principal coordinate analysis showed that L. plantarum P-8 treatment shifted the faecal bacterial population structure. At the metagenomic level, the Clusters of Orthologous Groups(COGs) functional categories of P, C, N and A were overrepresented in the probiotic group. Additionally, the relative gene abundances of metabolic pathways involved in flagellar assembly,bacterial chemotaxis, nitrogen metabolism, sulfur metabolism, cofactor and vitamin biosynthesis were also higher in the probiotic group than the control; in contrast genes related to galactose degradation,carbon fixation, multiple sugar transport systems and ribosomes were underrepresented in the probiotic group. Our data suggest that feeding L. plantarum P-8 has the potential to improve metabolic activity and nutrient utilization of poultry. One hundred and eighty female Duroc x Landrace x Yorkshire(DLY) pigs with similar body weight(11.00 ± 0.12 kg) were randomly assigned to 3 groups: the control group(fed 17.01% CP diet, twice daily); high-low group(H-L group, fed18.33% CP diet in the morning, followed by 15.70% CP diet in the afternoon); and low-high group(L-H group, fed 15.70% CP diet in the morning, followed by 18.33% CP diet in the afternoon)(n = 6). Comparable amounts of their respective diets were given at 05:30 and 15:00 throughout the experimental periods to make all the treatments consumed the same type of food and the same amount of calories on a daily basis. On day 30, one pig was randomly selected per litter for blood samples. Compared with the control group, ADG in the H-L and L-H groups increased by 8.11% and 16.23%, but not significant(P > 0.05); and blood urea nitrogen(BUN) in the H-L and L-H groups decreased by 26.76% and 41.04%(P < 0.05), respectively. The H-L group feeding pattern could significantly improve levels of serum superoxide dismutase(SOD), when compared with the control group. These findings suggest that the twomeal daily feeding pattern with varied levels of CP affects serum levels of BUN and SOD. 17Clock Differences Prediction Algorithm Based on EMD-SVM显示文摘A new prediction algorithm based on Empirical model decomposition(EMD) and Support vector machine(SVM) is put forward in this paper, and this algorithm solves the problem of the hydrogen atomic clock differences prediction, which is affected by the non-linearity and non-stability. The clock differences were decomposed into Intrinsic mode functions(IMF) and the residual series.The suitable kernel function and parameters were chosen to build the different SVM for predicting each IMF and the residual series. Each prediction result was summed to obtain the clock differences prediction. Results show that the EMD-SVM algorithm is effective compared with the linear regression and single SVM. 18Atorvastatin attenuates surgery-induced BBB disruption and cognitive impairment partly by suppressing NF-κB pathway and NLRP3 inflammasome activation in aged mice显示文摘In clinic,perioperative neurocognitive disorder is becoming a common complication of surgery in old patients.Neuroinflammation and blood-brain barrier(BBB)disruption are important contributors for cognitive impairment.Atorvastatin,as a strong HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor,has been widely used in clinic.However,it remains unclear whether atorvastatin could prevent anesthesia and surgery-induced BBB disruption and cognitive injury by its anti-inflammatory property.In this study,aged C57BL/6J mice were used to address this question.Initially,the mice were subject to atorvastatin treatment for 7 days(10 mg/kg).After a simple laparotomy under 1.5%isoflurane anesthesia,Morris water maze was performed to assess spatial learning and memory.Western blot analysis,immunohistochemistry,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were used to examine the inflammatory response,BBB integrity,and cell apoptosis.Terminal-deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling assay was used to assess cell apoptosis.The fluorescein sodium and transmission electron microscopy were used to detect the permeability and structure of BBB.The results showed that anesthesia and surgery significantly injured hippocampal-dependent learning and memory,which was ameliorated by atorvastatin.Atorvastatin could also reverse the surgery-induced increase of systemic and hippocampal cytokines,including IL-1β,TNF-α,and IL-6,accompanied by inhibiting the nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)pathway and Nucleotide-Binding Oligomerization Domain,or Leucine Rich Repeat and Pyrin Domain Containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome activation,as well as hippocampal neuronal apoptosis.In addition,surgery triggered an increase of BBB permeability,paralleled by a decrease of the ZO-1,occludin,and Claudin 5 proteins in the hippocampus.However,atorvastatin treatment could protect the BBB integrity from the impact of surgery,by up-regulating the expressions of ZO-1,occludin,and Claudin 5.These findings suggest that atorvastatin exhibits neuroprotective effects on cognition in aged mice undergoing surgery.Pengfei Liu Quansheng Gao Lei Guan Yanting Hu Jingwen Jiang Teng Gao Weixuan Sheng Xinying Xue Hui Qiao Tianzuo Li 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,5:6
19Reduced-order Modeling and Dynamic Stability Analysis of MTDC Systems in DC Voltage Control Timescale显示文摘An equivalent source-load MTDC system including DC voltage control units,power control units and interconnected DC lines is considered in this paper,which can be regarded as a generic structure of low-voltage DC microgrids,mediumvoltage DC distribution systems or HVDC transmission systems with a common DC bus.A reduced-order model is proposed with a circuit structure of a resistor,inductor and capacitor in parallel for dynamic stability analysis of the system in DC voltage control timescale.The relationship between control parameters and physical parameters of the equivalent circuit can be found,which provides an intuitive insight into the physical meaning of control parameters.Employing this model,a second-order characteristic equation is further derived to investigate system dynamic stability mechanisms in an analytical approach.As a result,the system oscillation frequency and damping are characterized in a straight forward manner,and the role of electrical and control parameters and different system-level control strategies in system dynamic stability in DC voltage control timescale is defined.The effectiveness of the proposed reduced-order model and the correctness of the theoretical analysis are verified by simulation based on PSCAD/EMTDC and an experiment based on a hardware low-voltage MTDC system platform.Li Guo Pengfei Li Xialin Li Fei Gao Di Huang Chengshan Wang 2020CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2020,6,3:5
20Genome-wide CRISPR screen identifies synthetic lethality between DOCK1 inhibition and metformin in liver cancer显示文摘Metformin is currently a strong candidate anti-tumor agent in multiple cancers.However,its anti-tumor effectiveness varies among different cancers or sub-populations,potentially due to tumor heterogeneity.It thus remains unclear which hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)patient subpopulation(s)can benefit from met-formin treatment.Here,through a genome-wide CRISPR-Cas9-based knockout screen,we find that DOCK1 levels determine the anti-tumor effects of met-formin and that DOCK1 is a synthetic lethal target of metformin in HCC.Mechanistically,metformin promotes DOCK1 phosphorylation,which activates RAC1 to facilitate cell survival,leading to metformin resistance.The DOCK1-selective inhibitor,TBOPP,potentiates anti-tumor activity by metformin in vitro in liver cancer cell lines and patient-derived HCC organoids,and in vivo in xenografted liver cancer cells and immunocompetent mouse liver cancer models.Notably,metformin improves overall survival of HCC patients with low DOCK1 levels but not among patients with high DOCK1 expression.This study shows that metformin effective-ness depends on DOCK1 levels and that combining metformin with DOCK1 inhibition may provide a promising personalized therapeutic strategy for met-formin-resistant HCC patients.Junru Feng Hui Lu Wenhao Ma Wenjing Tian Zhuan Lu Hongying Yang Yongping Cai Pengfei Cai Yuchen Sun Zilong Zhou Jiaqian Feng Jiazhong Deng Ying Shu Kun Qu Weidong Jia Ping Gao Huafeng Zhang 2022Protein & Cell2022,13,11:5
