| 1 | Removal of Methyl Violet from aqueous solutions using poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/attapulgite composite显示文摘The adsorption of Methyl Violet (MV) cationic dye from aqueous solution was carried out by using crosslinked poly (acrylic acid-co-acrylamide)/attapulgite (Poly(AA-co-AM)/ATP) composite as adsorbent. The factors influencing adsorption capacity of the composite such as pH, concentration of the dye, temperature, contact time, adsorbent dosage, ionic strength and surfactant were systematically investigated. The equilibrium data fitted very well to the Langmuir isotherm and the maximum adsorption capacity reached 1194 mg/g at 30°C. The thermodynamic parameters including G0, △H0 and △S 0 for the adsorption processes of MV on the composite were also calculated, and the negative △H0 and △G0 confirmed that the adsorption process was exothermic and spontaneous. | 2 | Challenges and strategies in high-accuracy manufacturing of the world’s largest SiC aspheric mirror显示文摘In the process of manufacturing the world’s largest silicon carbide(SiC)aspheric mirror,the primary difficulties are mirror blank preparation,asphere fabrication,and testing,as well as cladding and coating.Specifically,the challenges include the homogeneity of the complicated structure casting,accuracy and efficiency of the fabrication process,print-through effect,fidelity and precision of test procedure,stress and denseness of cladding process,the dynamic range of interferometric measurement,and air turbulence error due to the long optical path.To break through such a barrier of difficulties,we proposed the water-soluble room temperature vanishing mold and gel casting technology,homogeneous microstructure reaction-formed joint technology,nano-accuracy efficient compound fabrication,gravity unloading technology,high-denseness low-defect physical vapor deposition(PVD)Si-cladding technology,test data fusion method,and time-domain averaging method,etc.Based on the proposed technologies and methods,we have accomplished the world’s largest SiC aspheric mirror with a size of φ4.03 m.The impressive performance of the SiC aspheric mirror is validated by the characteristics of the fabricated SiC aspheric mirror.The aerial density of the SiC blank is less than 120 kg/m^(2),surface shape test accuracy is better than 6 nm RMS,thickness inhomogeneity of the cladding layer is less than 5%,and the final surface figure error and roughness are 15.2 nm RMS and 0.8 nm RMS,respectively. | Xuejun Zhang Haixiang Hu Xiaokun Wang Xiao Luo Ge Zhang Wenxing Zhao Xiaoyi Wang Zhenyu Liu Ling Xiong Erhui Qi Congcong Cui Yanchao Wang Yingjie Li Xu Wang Longxiang Li Yang Bai Qiang Cheng Zhiyu Zhang Ruigang Li Wa Tang Xuefeng Zeng Weijie Deng Feng Zhang | 2022 | Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,12: | 3 |

| 4 | Dynamic edge-based biomarker non-invasively predicts hepatocellular carcinoma with hepatitis B virus infection for individual patients based on blood testing显示文摘Hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a major cause of cancer-related deaths in Asia and Africa. Developing effective and non-invasive biomarkers of HCC for individual patients remains an urgent task for early diagnosis and convenient monitoring. Analyzing the transcriptomic profiles of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from both healthy donors and patients with chronic HBV infection in different states (i.e. HBV carrier, chronic hepatitis B, cirrhosis, and HCC), we identified a set of 19 candidate genes according to our algorithm of dynamic network biomarkers. These genes can both characterize different stages during HCC progression and identify cirrhosis as the critical transition stage before carcinogenesis. The interaction effects (i.e. coexpressions) of candidate genes were used to build an accurate prediction model: the so-called edge-based biomarker. Considering the convenience and robustness of biomarkers in clinical applications, we performed functional analysis, validated candidate genes in other independent samples of our collected cohort, and finally selected COL5A1, HLA-DQB1, MMP2, and CDK4 to build edge panel as prediction models. We demonstrated that the edge panel had great performance in both diagnosis and prognosis in terms of precision and specificity for HCC, especially for patients with alpha-fetoprotein-negative HCC. | 8 | An operational radar current observing and data service platform in the East China Sea显示文摘An ocean state monitor and analysis radar(OSMAR), developed by Wuhan University in China, have been mounted at six stations along the coasts of East China Sea(ECS) to measure velocities(currents, waves and winds) at the sea surface. Radar-observed surface current is taken as an example to illustrate the operational high-frequency(HF) radar observing and data service platform(OP), presenting an operational flow from data observing, transmitting, processing, visualizing, to end-user service. Three layers(systems): radar observing system(ROS), data service system(DSS) and visualization service system(VSS), as well as the data flow within the platform are introduced. Surface velocities observed at stations are synthesized at the radar data receiving and preprocessing center of the ROS, and transmitted to the DSS, in which the data processing and quality control(QC) are conducted. Users are allowed to browse the processed data on the portal of the DSS, and access to those data files. The VSS aims to better show the data products by displaying the information on a visual globe. | 9 | Physical, Antioxidant and Thermal Shock Properties of Cu/Ti_2AlC Conductive Composites显示文摘Cu/Ti2AlC composites were fabricated by vacuum hot-pressing technique. Phase composition was analyzed by XRD and morphology of fracture was observed by SEM. Physical performance such as density, resistivity, hardness and friction coefficient with different volume fraction of Cu/Ti2AlC composites were studied. When the content of Ti2AlC increased from 10% to 70%, the relative density reduced from 99.38% to 90.56% and the resistivity increased significantly. Hardness reached the maximum value when Ti2AlC was at 60% and friction coefficient declined with the increasing of Ti2AlC. Cu/Ti2AlC composites, showing good conductivity properties and friction performance. Oxidation resistance enhanced obviously with the content of Ti2AlC increasing. | 14 | Characterization of Natural Killer Cells in the Liver of Young Mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE To determine the quantity and quality of liver NK cells from young and adult mice and compare their characteristics. METHODS C57BL/6 mice were used at 2 weeks (young) and 8 weeks (adult) of age. The percentage and absolute number of NK cells in the liver and spleen were analyzed. The cytotoxicity of NK cells in the liver and spleen against various targets were detected by a 4 h 51Cr-release method. FACScan was used to analyze the expression of CD69, Mac-1, Ly49C/I and CD94 on the NK cells. Perforin mRNA levels were analyzed by the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). RESUTLS The percentages of NK cells in the liver of young and adult mice were similar (11.9%±1.7% vs. 9.9%±1.6%, P>0.05), but the absolute number per liver weight was higher in the young animals (11.6±2.5x105/g vs. 3.4±0.8x105/g, P<0.05). The level of NK cytotoxicity was extremely high in the liver of young compared to adult mice (71.0%±5.5% vs. 23.8%±4.4%, P<0.05), but this difference was not observed in the spleen. Phenotypes of the liver NK cells from young and adult mice were completely different from each other. The liver NK cells from young mice were CD69high Mac-1lowLy49C/ Ilow, whereas NK cells from older mice displayed inverse antigen levels (CD-69low Mac-1high Ly49C/Ihigh). The expression levels of other NK cell-related markers were similar in both groups.The perforin mRNA level in the liver lymphocytes from young mice was consistently greater compared to adult mice. CONCLUSION From 2 to 8 weeks C57BL/6 mice liver NK cells undergo age-associated changes.
