| 1 | Environmental connections of novel avian-origin H7N9 influenza virus infection and virus adaptation to the human显示文摘A novel H7N9 influenza A virus has been discovered as the causative identity of the emerging acute respiratory infection cases in Shanghai,China.This virus has also been identified in cases of infection in the neighboring area Hangzhou City in Zhejiang Province.In this study,epidemiologic,clinical,and virological data from three patients in Hangzhou who were confirmed to be infected by the novel H7N9 influenza A virus were collected and analyzed.Human respiratory specimens and chicken feces from a contacted free market were tested for influenza virus by real-time reverse transcription PCR(RT-PCR) and sequencing.The clinical features of the three cases were similar featured with high fever and severe respiratory symptoms;however,only one of the patients died.A certain degree of diversity was observed among the three Hangzhou viruses sequenced from human samples compared with other reported H7N9 influenza A viruses.The sequences of the novel avian-origin H7N9 influenza viruses from Hangzhou City contained important amino acid substitutions related to human adaptation.One of the Hangzhou viruses had gained a novel amino acid substitution(Q226I) in the receptor binding region of hemagglutinin.More importantly,the virus sequenced from the chicken feces had a 627E substitution in the PB2 protein instead of the mammalian-adapted 627K substitution that was found in the PB2 proteins from the Hangzhou viruses from the three patients.Therefore,the newly-emerging H7N9 virus might be under adaptation pressure that will help it 'jump' from avian to human hosts.The significance of these substitutions needs further exploration,with both laboratory experiments and extensive field surveillance. | LI Jun YU XinFen PU XiaoYing XIE Li SUN YongXiang XIAO HaiXia WANG FenJuan DIN Hua WU Ying LIU Di ZHAO GuoQiu LIU Jun PAN JingCao | 2013 | Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,6: | 32 |
| 2 | Radiofrequency ablation or microwave ablation combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma by comparing with radiofrequency ablation alone显示文摘Objective:To compare radiofrequency ablation(RFA) or microwave ablation(MWA) and transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE) with RFA or MWA monotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods:A prospective,randomized,controlled trial was conducted on 94 patients with HCC ≤7 cm at a single tertiary referral center from June 2008 to June 2010 at the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery,the Second Affiliated Hospital of Southeast University.The patients were randomly assigned into the TACERFA or TACE-MWA(combined treatment group) and the RFA-alone or MWA-alone groups(control group).The primary end point was overall survival.The secondary end point was recurrence-free survival,and the tertiary end point was adverse effects.Results:Until the time of censor,17 patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 47.5±11.3 months(range,29 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group was 93.6%,68.1% and 61.7%,respectively.Twenty-five patients in the RFA or MWA group had died.The median follow-up time of the patients who were still alive for the RFA or MWA group was 47.0±12.9 months(range,28 to 62 months).The 1-,3- and 5-year overall survival for the RFA or MWA group was 85.1%,59.6% and 44.7%,respectively.The patients in the TACE-RFA or TACE-MWA group had better overall survival than the RFA or MWA group [hazard ratio(HR),0.526;95% confidence interval(95% CI),0.334-0.823;P=0.002],and showed better recurrence-free survival than the RFA or MWA group(HR,0.582;95% CI,0.368-0.895;P=0.008).Conclusions:RFA or MWA combined with TACE in the treatment of HCC ≤7 cm was superior to RFA or MWA alone in improving survival by reducing arterial and portal blood flow due to TACE with iodized oil before RFA. | Yongxiang Yi Yufeng Zhang Qiang Wei Liang Zhao Jianbo Han Yan Song Ying Ding Guilan Lu Junmao Liu Huaiying Ding Feng Dai Xiaojun Tang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2014,26,1: | 29 |

| 8 | Differentially weighted direct simulation Monte Carlo method for particle collision in gas-solid flows显示文摘In gas-solid flows,particle-particle interaction(typical,particle collision) is highly significant,despite the small particles fractional volume.Widely distributed polydisperse particle population is a typical characteristic during dynamic evolution of particles(e.g.,agglomeration and fragmentation) in spite of their initial monodisperse particle distribution.The conventional direct simulation Monte Carlo(DSMC)method for particle collision tracks equally weighted simulation particles,which results in high statistical noise for particle fields if there are insufficient simulation particles in less-populated regions.In this study,a new differentially weighted DSMC(DW-DSMC) method for collisions of particles with different number weight is proposed within the framework of the general Eulerian-Lagrangian models for hydrodynamics.Three schemes(mass,momentum and energy conservation) were developed to restore the numbers of simulation particle while keeping total mass,momentum or energy of the whole system unchanged respectively.A limiting case of high-inertia particle flow was numerically simulated to validate the DW-DSMC method in terms of computational precision and efficiency.The momentum conservation scheme which leads to little fluctuation around the mass and energy of the whole system performed best.Improved resolution in particle fields and dynamic behavior could be attained simultaneously using DW-DSMC,compared with the equally weighted DSMC.Meanwhile,computational cost can be largely reduced in contrast with direct numerical simulation. | Yongxiang He Haibo Zhao Haoming Wang Chuguang Zheng | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,4: | 4 |

A series of images of crack initialization and propagation with a distorted mesh grid pattern were obtained by means of in situ scanning electron microscopy. Strain fields around the crack tip were mapped successively using geometric phase analysis and digital image correlation techniques, and then compared with the predictions obtained through linear elastic fracture mechanics(LEFM). | 15 | Boron difluoride formazanate dye for high-efficiency NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence imaging-guided cancer photothermal therapy显示文摘The small molecular second near-infrared(NIR-Ⅱ, 1000–1700 nm) dye-based nanotheranostics can concurrently combine deep-tissue photodiagnosis with in situ phototherapy, which occupies a vital position in the early detection and precise treatment of tumors. However, the development of small molecular NIR-Ⅱ dyes is still challenging due to the limited electron acceptors and cumbersome synthetic routes.Herein, we report a novel molecular electron acceptor, boron difluoride formazanate(BDF). Based on BDF, a new small molecular NIR-Ⅱ dye BDF1005 is designed and synthesized with strong NIR-I absorption at 768 nm and bright NIR-Ⅱ peak emission at 1034 nm. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that BDF1005-based nanotheranostics can be applied for NIR-Ⅱ fluorescence imaging-guided photothermal therapy of 4T1 tumor-bearing mice. Under 808 nm laser irradiation, tumor growth can be effectively inhibited. | 18 | Photocrosslinkable Col/PCL/Mg composite membrane providing spatiotemporal maintenance and positive osteogenetic effects during guided bone regeneration显示文摘Guided bone regeneration membranes have been effectively applied in oral implantology to repair bone defects.However,typical resorbable membranes composed of collagen(Col)have insufficient mechanical properties and high degradation rate,while non-resorbable membranes need secondary surgery.Herein,we designed a photocrosslinkable collagen/polycaprolactone methacryloyl/magnesium(Col/PCLMA/Mg)composite membrane that provided spatiotemporal support effect after photocrosslinking.Magnesium particles were added to the PCLMA solution and Col/PCLMA and Col/PCLMA/Mg membranes were developed;Col membranes and PCL membranes were used as controls.After photocrosslinking,an interpenetrating polymer network was observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)in Col/PCL and Col/PCL/Mg membranes.The elastic modulus,swelling behavior,cytotoxicity,cell attachment,and cell proliferation of the membranes were evaluated.Degradation behavior in vivo and in vitro was monitored according to mass change and by SEM.The membranes were implanted into calvarial bone defects of rats for 8 weeks.The Col/PCL and Col/PCL/Mg membranes displayed much higher elastic modulus(p<0.05),and a lower swelling rate(p<0.05),than Col membranes,and there were no differences in cell biocompatibility among groups(p>0.05).The Col/PCL and Col/PCL/Mg membranes had lower degradation rates than the Col membranes,both in vivo and in vitro(p<0.05).The Col/PCL/Mg groups showed enhanced osteogenic capability compared with the Col groups at week 8(p<0.05).The Col/PCL/Mg composite membrane represents a new strategy to display space maintenance and enhance osteogenic potential,which meets clinical needs. | Feilong Wang Dandan Xia Siyi Wang Ranli Gu Fan Yang Xiao Zhao Xuenan Liu Yuan Zhu Hao Liu Yongxiang Xu Yunsong Liu Yongsheng Zhou | 2022 | Bioactive Materials2022,7,7: | 1 |
