Synthesis and Properties of Poly(butylene carbonate-co-spirocyclic carbonate)显示文摘Poly(butylene carbonateXPBC) has significantly promising applications as a degradable material in the field of polymers, while its poor thermal performance and low crystallization rate are its main defects. To overcome these shortcomings, a series of poly(butylene carbonate-co-spirocyclic carbonateXPBSC) copolymers were synthesized from diphenyl carbonate, 1,4-butanediol and spiroglycol via two-step polycondensation reactions, using magnesium oxide as a catalyst. Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) results indicated that the glass transition temperature(Tg) values of PBSC copolymers were enhanced from -19℃ to 56℃ with rising the spiroacetal moiety content. Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) results showed that the resulting PBSCs have a higher thermal stability than that of poly(butylene carbonate). Wide angle X-ray diflraction(WXRD) patterns were characterized to investigate the crystallization behaviour of PBSCs. Tensile testing demonstrated that copolymerization of spiroacetal moieties into PBC chains imparted PBSC with favourable mechanical performance. Typically, PBSC 30 had a tensile modulus of (1735±430) MPa, a tensile strength of (42±5) MPa and an elongation of 504%±36%. | ZHU Changliang LIU Shaoying WANG Qingyin ZHANG Hua | 2019 | Chemical Research in Chinese Universities2019,35,4: | 3
Olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions of COVID-19 patients in China:A multicenter study显示文摘Introduction:With the spread of the epidemic worldwide,an increasing number of doctors abroad have observed the following atypical symptoms of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19):olfactory or taste disorders. Therefore, clarifying the incidence and clinical characteristics of olfactory and taste disorders in Chinese COVID-19 patients is of great significance and urgency.Materials and Methods:A retrospective study was conducted, which included 229 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 confirmed patients, through face-to-face interviews and telephone follow-up.Following the completion of questionnaires, the patients participating in the study, were categorized according to the degree of olfactory and taste disorders experienced, and the proportion of each clinical type of patient with olfactory and taste disorders and the time when symptoms appeared were recorded. Results:Among the 229 patients,31(13.54%)had olfactory dysfunction, and 44(19.21%)had gustatory dysfunction. For the patients with olfactory dysfunction,6(19.35%)developed severe disease and became critically ill.Olfactory dysfunction appeared before the other symptoms in 21.43%of cases. The proportion of females with olfactory and gustatory dysfunction was higher than that of males(P<0.001).Conclusions:The incidence of olfactory and gustatory dysfunction was much lower than that reported abroad;the prognosis of patients with olfactory dysfunction is relatively favorable;olfactory and gustatory dysfunction can be used as a sign for early screening;females are more prone to olfactory and gustatory dysfunction. | Jianhui Li Yi Sun Enqiang Qin Hu Yuan Mingbo Liu Wenqi Yi Zhu Chen Chengcheng Huang Fengjie Zhou Ruiyao Chen Leibo Zhang Ning Yu Qiong Liu Xuejun Zhou Jingjing He Boyu Li Fusheng Wang Changliang Yang Shiming Yang | 2022 | World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery2022,8,4: | 2

Cloning and sequence analysis of β-actin gene from Aedes albopictus (Diptera: Culicidae)显示文摘Objective: To obtain the complete β-actin gene from Aedes albopictus. Methods: Total RNA was extracted from C6/36 cells. Degenerate primers were designed based on the β-actin sequences of An. gambiae, Ae. aegypti, Cx. pipiens pallens and D. melanogaster. By RT-PCR, the product was amplified, purified, cloned into the pGT vector and sequenced. The β-actin sequence was aligned and phylogenetically analyzed by the BLAST program and the CLUSTAL W program. Results: A sequence of 1132 bp including an open reading frame of 1131 bp was obtained(GenBank DQ657949). The deduced protein had 376 amino acids. Aligned to SWISS-PROT, it exhibited a high level of identity with β-actins from Anopheles, Drosophila and Culex at the amino acid sequence level. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that Ae. albopictus β-actin was much more homologous with invertebrate β-actin than with vertebrate β-actin. Conclusion: The gene may be used as the internal control in the experiments of Ae. albopictus. | Weijie Wang Xiaobang Hu Donghui Zhang Jianhua Jiao Yan Sun Lei M' Changliang Zhu | 2007 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2007,21,2: | 1

Extracellular RNAs-TLR3 signaling contributes to cognitive impairment after chronic neuropathic pain in mice显示文摘Chronic pain is often associated with cognitive decline, which could influence the quality of the patient’s life.Recent studies have suggested that Toll-like receptor 3(TLR3)is crucial for memory and learning.Nonetheless, the contribution of TLR3 to the pathogenesis of cognitive decline after chronic pain remains unclear. The level of TLR3 in hippocampal neurons increased in the chronic constriction injury(CCI)group than in the sham group in this study.Importantly, compared to the wild-type(WT)mice,TLR3 knockout(KO)mice and TLR3-specific neuronal knockdown mice both displayed improved cognitive function, reduced levels of inflammatory cytokines and neuronal apoptosis and attenuated injury to hippocampal neuroplasticity.Notably, extracellular RNAs(exRNAs),specifically double-stranded RNAs(dsRNAs),were increased in the sciatic nerve, serum, and hippocampus after CCI.The co-localization of dsRNA with TLR3 was also increased in hippocampal neurons. And the administration of poly(I:C),a dsRNA analog, elevated the levels of dsRNAs and TLR3 in the hippocampus, exacerbating hippocampus-dependent memory. In additon, the dsRNA/TLR3 inhibitor improved cognitive function after CCI.Together, our findings suggested that exRNAs,particularly dsRNAs,that were present in the condition of chronic neuropathic pain, activated TLR3,initiated downstream inflammatory and apoptotic signaling, caused damage to synaptic plasticity, and contributed to the etiology of cognitive impairment after chronic neuropathic pain. | Xueying Zhang Rui Gao Changteng Zhang Yi Teng Hai Chen Qi Li Changliang Liu Jiahui Wu Liuxing Wei Liyun Deng Lining Wu Shixin Ye-Lehmann Xiaobo Mao Jin Liu Tao Zhu Chan Chen | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,9: | 0
Response of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium to alginate oligosaccharides fermented with fecal inoculum:integrated transcriptomic and metabolomic analyses显示文摘Alginate oligosaccharides(AOS),extracted from marine brown algae, are a common functional feed additive;however,it remains unclear whether they modulate the gut microbiota and microbial metabolites. The response of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium,a common poultry pathogen,to AOS fermented with chicken fecal inocula was investigated using metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses.Single-strain cultivation tests showed that AOS did not directly inhibit the growth of S.Typhimurium.However,when AOS were fermented by chicken fecal microbiota, the supernatant of fermented AOS(F-AOS)exhibited remarkable antibacterial activity against S.Typhimurium, decreasing the abundance ratio of S.Typhimurium in the fecal microbiota from 18.94 to 2.94%.Transcriptomic analyses showed that the 855 diferentially expressed genes induced by F-AOS were mainly enriched in porphyrin and chlorophyll metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, and Salmonella infection-related pathways.RT-qPCR confrmed that F-AOS downregulated key genes involved in fagellar assembly and the type III secretory system of S.Typhimurium, indicating metabolites in F-AOS can infuence the growth and metabolism of S.Typhimurium.Metabolomic analyses showed that 205 microbial metabolites were signifcantly altered in F-AOS.Among them, the increase in indolelactic acid and 3-indolepropionic acid levels were further confrmed using HPLC.This study provides a new perspective for the application of AOS as a feed additive against pathogenic intestinal bacteria. | Jiaying Cheng Mengshi Xiao Xinmiao Ren Francesco Secundo Ying Yu Shihao Nan Weimiao Chen Changliang Zhu Qing Kong Youtao Huang Xiaodan Fu Haijin Mou | 2023 | Marine Life Science & Technology2023,5,2: | 0
