1Relationship between intestinal microbiota and ulcerative colitis:Mechanisms and clinical application of probiotics and fecal microbiota transplantation显示文摘Ulcerative colitis(UC) is an inflammatory disease that mainly affects the colon and rectum. It is believed that genetic factors, host immune system disorders, intestinal microbiota dysbiosis, and environmental factors contribute to the pathogenesis of UC. however, studies on the role of intestinal microbiota in the pathogenesis of UC have been inconclusive. Studies have shown that probiotics improve intestinal mucosa barrier function and immune system function and promote secretion of anti-inflammatory factors, thereby inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestine. Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT) can reduce bowel permeability and thus the severity of disease by increasing the production of short-chain fatty acids, especially butyrate, which help maintain the integrity of the epithelial barrier. FMT can also restore immune dysbiosis by inhibiting Th1 differentiation, activity of T cells, leukocyte adhesion, and production of inflammatory factors. Probiotics and FMT are being increasingly used to treat UC, but their use is controversial because of uncertain efficacy. 3A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. 4Geomorphologic evidence of phased uplift of the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau since 14 million years ago显示文摘A typical sequence of fluvial terraces and aeolian deposits overlying these terraces were multidisciplinary investigated. New evidences for uplift process of the northeastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau in the past 14 million years were obtained. At least 11 river terraces along Huangshui, the first-class tributary of Yellow River, at the Xining-Huzhu region are identified. While the first one (T1) is classified as an accumulation terrace, the others are all basement river terraces, which consist of the Tertiary sandstone and siltstone bedrock, fluvial gravel and pebbles and the overlying aeolian loess-Red Clay deposit. Samples from the aeolian deposits were examined for paleomagnetic stratigraphic reconstruction (1030 samples), luminescence dating (16 samples), magnetic susceptibility and grain-size distribution (more than 4000 samples). The luminescence dating and stratigraphic correlation suggest that terraces of T11, T10,T8, T7, T3, T2, T1 were formed at 14, 11.3, 1.55, 1.2, 0.15, 0.07 and 0.01 million years ago, respectively. Sedimentological analysis and geomorphological observation indicate that formation and evolution of these terraces were mainly driven by tectonic uplift. Therefore, the terrace sequence provides an ideal geological record of the uplift process of the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet during the past 14 million years, and the timings of the terraces formation are regarded as the timings of tectonic uplift. The significant uplifting events took place at 14, 11.3, 1.2 and 0.15 million years ago, respectively. The fluvial incision at the Xining-Huzhu region is less than 100 m during a period of ~12 million years in the Miocene era (between the T11 and T9), while the Huangshui River had incised 432 m during the past 1.2 million years (from T7 to the present floodplain). The river incision process clearly demonstrates that accelerated rising of the northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau during the late Cenozoic, and provides new evidence of previous thoughts. There was a significant readjustment of the fluvial catchment during 1.55-1.2 million years ago: before this time, the paleoriver flowed to southwest. After this time the Huangshui River flows to southeast. 5Orbit determination and time synchronization for a GEO/IGSO satellite navigation constellation with regional tracking network显示文摘Aiming at regional services,the space segment of COMPASS (Phase I) satellite navigation system is a constellation of Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO),Inclined Geostationary Earth Orbit (IGSO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellites.Precise orbit determination (POD) for the satellites is limited by the geographic distribution of regional tracking stations.Independent time synchronization (TS) system is developed to supplement the regional tracking network,and satellite clock errors and orbit data may be obtained by simultaneously processing both tracking data and TS data.Consequently,inconsistency between tracking system and TS system caused by remaining instrumental errors not calibrated may decrease navigation accuracy.On the other hand,POD for the mixed constellation of GEO/IGSO/MEO with the regional tracking network leads to parameter estimations that are highly correlated.Notorious example of correlation is found between GEO's orbital elements and its clock errors.We estimate orbital elements and clock errors for a 3GEO+2IGSO constellation in this study using a multi-satellite precise orbit determination (MPOD) strategy,with which clock error elimination algorithm is applied to separate orbital and clock estimates to improve numerical efficiency.Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) data are used to evaluate User Ranging Error (URE),which is the orbital error projected on a receiver's line-of-sight direction.Two-way radio-wave time transfer measurements are used to evaluate clock errors.Experimenting with data from the regional tracking network,we conclude that the fitting of code data is better than 1 m in terms of Root-Mean-Square (RMS),and fitting of carrier phase is better than 1 cm.For orbital evaluation,difference between computed receiver-satellite ranging based on estimated orbits and SLR measurements is better than 1 m (RMS).For clock estimates evaluation,2-hour linear-fitting shows that the satellite clock rates are about 1.E-10 s/s,while receiver clock rates are about 1×10 13-1×10 12 s/s.For the 72-hour POD experiment,the average differences between POD satellite clock rates estimates and clock measurements based on TS system are about 1×10 13 s/s,and for receiver clock rates,the differences are about 1×10 15 s/s.ZHOU ShanShi HU XiaoGong WU Bin LIU Li QU WeiJing GUO Rui HE Feng CAO YueLing Wu XiaoLi ZHU LingFeng SHI Xin TAN HongLi 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,6:44
6GS6, A Member of the GRAS Gene Family,Negatively Regulates Grain Size in Rice显示文摘Grain size is an important yield related trait in rice.Intensive arti cial selection for grain size during domestication is evidenced by the larger grains of most of today’s cultivars compared with their wild relatives.However,the molecular genetic control of rice grain size is still not well characterized.Here,we report the identi cation and cloning of Grain Size 6(GS6),which plays an important role in reducing grain size in rice.A premature stop at the t348 position in the coding sequence(CDS)of GS6 increased grain width and weight signi cantly.Alignment of the CDS regions of GS6 in 90 rice materials revealed three GS6alleles.Most japonica varieties(95%)harbor the Type I haplotype,and 62.9%of indica varieties harbor the Type II haplotype.Association analysis revealed that the Type I haplotype tends to increase the width and weight of grains more than either of the Type II or Type III haplotypes.Further investigation of genetic diversity and the evolutionary mechanisms of GS6showed that the GS6gene was strongly selected in japonica cultivars.In addition,a'ggc'repeat region identi ed in the region that encodes the GRAS domain of GS6 played an important historic role in the domestication of grain size in rice.Knowledge of the function of GS6might aid efforts to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that control grain development and evolution in rice plants,and could facilitate the genetic improvement of rice yield.Lianjun Sun Xiaojiao Li Yongcai Fu Zuofeng Zhu Lubin Tan Fengxia Liu Xianyou Sun Xuewen Sun Chuanqing Sun 2013Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2013,55,10:44

11Different treatment strategies and molecular features between right-sided and left-sided colon cancers显示文摘The colon is derived from the embryological midgut and hindgut separately,with the right colon and left colon having different features with regards to both anatomical and physiological characteristics.Cancers located in the right and left colon are referred to as right colon cancer(RCC) and left colon cancer(LCC),respectively,based on their apparent anatomical positions.Increasing evidence supports the notion that not only are there differences in treatment strategies when dealing with RCC and LCC,but molecular features also vary between them,not to mention the distinguishing clinical manifestations.Disease-free survival after radical surgery of both RCC and LCC are similar.In the treatment of RCC,the benefit gained from adjuvant FOLFIRI chemotherapy is superior,or at least similar,to LCC,but inferior to LCC if FOLFOX regimen is applied.On the other hand,metastatic LCC exhibits longer survival than that of RCC in a palliative chemotherapy setting.For KRAS wild-type cancers,LCC benefits more from cetuximab treatment than RCC.Moreover,advanced LCC shows a higher sensitivity to bevacizumab treatment in comparison with advanced RCC.Significant varieties exist at the molecular level between RCC and LCC,which may serve as the cause of all apparent differences.With respect to carcinogenesis mechanisms,RCC is associated with known gene types,such as MMR,KRAS,BRAF,and mi RNA-31,while LCC is associated with CIN,p53,NRAS,mi RNA-146 a,mi RNA-147 b,and mi RNA-1288.Regarding protein expression,RCC is related to GNAS,NQO1,telomerase activity,P-PDH,and annexin A10,while LCC is related to Topo I,TS,and EGFR.In addition,separated pathways dominate progressionto relapse in RCC and LCC.Therefore,RCC and LCC should be regarded as two heterogeneous entities,with this heterogeneity being used to stratify patients in order for them to have the optimal,current,and novel therapeutic strategies in clinical practice.Additional research is needed to uncover further differences between RCC and LCC.Hong Shen Jiao Yang Qing Huang Meng-Jie Jiang Yi-Nuo Tan Jian-Fei Fu Li-Zhen Zhu Xue-Feng Fang Ying Yuan 2015World Journal of Gastroenterology2015,21,21:33

13Regulation of multidrug resistance by microRNAs in anti-cancer therapy显示文摘Multidrug resistance(MDR) remains a major clinical obstacle to successful cancer treatment.Although diverse mechanisms of MDR have been well elucidated, such as dysregulation of drugs transporters, defects of apoptosis and autophagy machinery, alterations of drug metabolism and drug targets, disrupti on of redox homeostasis, the exact mechanisms of MDR in a specific cancer patient and the cross-talk among these different mechanisms and how they are regulated are poorly understood.Micro RNAs(mi RNAs) are a new class of small noncoding RNAs that could control the global activity of the cell by post-transcriptionally regulating a large variety of target genes and proteins expression.Accumulating evidence shows that mi RNAs play a key regulatory role in MDR through modulating various drug resistant mechanisms mentioned above, thereby holding much promise for developing novel and more effective individualized therapies for cancer treatment. 15Efficacy and safety of Xinfeng capsule in patients with rheumatoid arthritis:a multi-center parallel-group double-blind randomized controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Xinfeng capsule in patients suffering rheumatoid arthritis(RA).METHODS:A multi-center parallel-group designed,double-blind,randomized,controlled trial was conducted.Totally 304 RA patients were assigned to two groups:one group was administered Xinfeng capsule(XFC) plus the placebo of leflunomide and the other given leflunomide(LEF) plus the placebo of XFC for twelve weeks.The clinical and laboratory parameters were compared at baseline and fourth,eighth,and twelfth weeks.RESULTS:After twelve-week treatment,patients in two groups all showed some trend of effectiveness when compared in terms of American Rheumatism Association(ACR) recommended 20%,50%,70%improvement criteria,but it was insignificant.The validity in ameliorate modified disease activity score(DAS28) and laboratory indexes as erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP),rheumatoid factor(RF) were also found no difference.The score of health assessment questionnaire(HAQ),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS) and quality of life questionnaire with rheumatoid arthritis(RAQOL)both lower than the first week and the changes showed no difference.However,the score of SDS dropped more in XFC group than in the other.A total of 147 adverse reaction cases were reported,which shows no difference between the two groups.The most common adverse reactions were hepatic impairment,anemia,leukocytopenia,epigastric discomfort and phalacrosis.CONCLUSION:XFC demonstrated better improvement in the scores of SDS and compared with those of LEF group.Liu Jian Wang Yuan Huang Chuanbing Xu Jianhua Li Zhijun Xu Liang He Liyun Sun Yue Wang Yali Xu Shengqian Zhao Ping Mao Tongjun Tan Bin Zhu Fubing Zhang Pingheng Fang Li 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015,35,5:27

17Secondary organic carbon quantification and source apportionment of PM_(10) in Kaifeng, China显示文摘During 2005, the filter samples of ambient PM10 from five sites and the source samples of particulate matter were collected in Kaifeng, Henan Province of China. Nineteen elements, water-soluble ions, total carbon (TC) and organic carbon (OC) contained in samples were analyzed. Seven contributive source types were identified and their contributions to ambient PM10 were estimated by chemical mass balance (CMB) receptor model. Weak associations between the concentrations of organic carbon and element carbon (EC) were observed during the sampling periods, indicating that there was secondary organic aerosol pollution in the urban atmosphere. An indirect method of 'OC/EC minimum ratio' was applied to estimate the concentration of secondary organic carbon (SOC). The results showed that SOC contributed 26.2%, 32.4% and 18.0% of TC in spring, summer-fall and winter, respectively, and the annual average SOC concentration was 7.07 μg/m3, accounting for 5.73% of the total mass in ambient PM10. 18Surveillance, epidemiology, and pathogen spectrum of hand, foot, and mouth disease in mainland of China from 2008 to 2017显示文摘Hand,foot and mouth disease(HFMD)was reported in May 2,2008 to be the 38th legally notifiable disease in China's National Notifiable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System.In order to solve the infection,an extensive three-level HFMD surveillance laboratory network was established.In this study,the framework of that network is assessed and the incidence of HFMD in China from 2008 to 2017 is reported using a descriptive epidemiologic method.During these 10 years,a series of techniques have been widely applied in all the network laboratories.Using information and material obtained from the network,a virus bank and database containing 18,238 viruses were established.Nationally,18,184,834 HFMD cases,including 152,436 severe cases and 3633 fatal cases,were reported in mainland of China.The average annual incidence in the population was 133.99/100,000 people,with a maximum incidence of 205.06/100,000 people in 2014.The incidence and mortality rates of HFMD were the highest in children aged 1–2 years.The numbers of reported cases fluctuated,with a high incidence observed every 2 years.An overall increase in the number of reported cases was also observed throughout the study period.Despite this,the incidence of severe cases and the mortality rate have been decreasing.High-risk regions are located in southern,eastern,and central China.Two peaks of HFMD infection cases were observed annually except for Northeast China.Different proportions of enterovirus serotypes were observed during the studied years.The predominant enterovirus varies from year to year,but the disease severity is always closely related to the specific serotype.EV-A71 is the dominant serotype associated with severe and fatal cases,with constituent ratios of 70.03%and 92.23%,respectively.The studied highly sensitive and efficient surveillance network provides information that is critical for prevention and control of the disease.It is extremely necessary and important to continuously conduct extensive virological surveillance for HFMD.Tianjiao Ji Taoli Han Xiaojuan Tan Shuangli Zhu Dongmei Yan Qian Yang Yang Song Aili Cui Yan Zhang Naiying Mao Songtao Xu Zhen Zhu Dandan Niu Yong Zhang Wenbo Xu 2019Biosafety and Health2019,1,1:26
19LHD1,an Allele of DTH8/Ghd8,Controls Late Heading Date in Common Wild Rice (Oryza rufipogon)显示文摘Flowering at suitable time is very important for plants to adapt to complicated environments and produce their seeds successfully for reproduction.In rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) photoperiod regulation is one of the important factors for controlling heading date.Common wild rice,the ancestor of cultivated rice,exhibits a late heading date and a more sensitive photoperiodic response than cultivated rice.Here,through map-based cloning,we identified a major quantitative trait loci (QTL) LHD1 (Late Heading Date 1),an allele of DTH8/Ghd8,which controls the late heading date of wild rice and encodes a putative HAP3/NF-YB/CBF-A subunit of the CCAAT-box-binding transcription factor.Sequence analysis revealed that several variants in the coding region of LHD1 were correlated with a late heading date,and a further complementary study successfully rescued the phenotype.These results suggest that a functional site for LHD1 could be among those variants present in the coding region.We also found that LHD1 could down-regulate the expression of several floral transition activators such as Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 under long-day conditions,but not under short-day conditions.This indicates that LHD1 may delay flowering by repressing the expression of Ehd1,Hd3a and RFT1 under long-day conditions.Xiaodong Dai Younian Ding Lubin Tan Yongcai Fu Fengxia Liu Zuofeng Zhu Xianyou Sun Xuewen Sun Ping Gu Hongwei Cai Chuanqing Sun 2012Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2012,54,10:23
20Optimal allocation of multi-type FACTS devices in power systems based on power flow entropy显示文摘Flexible AC transmission systems(FACTS)devices can effectively optimize the distribution of power flow.Power flow entropy can be applied as a measure of load distribution.In this paper,a method is proposed to optimize the distribution of power flow with the coordination of multi-type FACTS devices and establishes the corresponding mathematical models.The modified group searcher optimization(GSO)algorithm is proposed,in which the angle search is combined with chaotic search model to avoid jumping into local optimization.Compared with the different optimal allocation of multi-FACTS devices,the optimal allocation of multi-FACTS devices is achieved under the economic constraints.The locations obtained by this method can achieve the purpose of balancing power flow and enhancing the system performances.The simulations are demonstrated in an IEEE 118-bus power system with two classical types of FACTS,namely static var compensator(SVC)and thyristor controlled series Compensator(TCSC).The simulation results show that the proposed method is feasible and effective.Canbing LI Liwu XIAO Yijia CAO Qianlong ZHU Baling FANG Yi TAN Long ZENG 2014Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2014,2,2:23
