1In vitro inhibitory and pro-apoptotic effect of Stellera Chamaejasme LExtract on human lung cancer cell line NCI-H157显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the inhibitory and pro-apoptotic effect of Stellera Chamaejasme L extract(ESC) in vitro.METHODS:ESC was first extracted with ethanol,and then washed using a polyamide column with 60% ethanol.ESC was then decompressively recycled and vacuum dried at room temperature to obtain active fractions.Subsequently,the cytotoxic and apoptotic effects of ESC on NCI-H157 human lung cancer cells were determined.RESULTS:The results showed that ESC was rich in isomers of Chamaejasminor,neochamaejasmine and Sikokianin.ESC had significant cytotoxicity against NCI-H157 cells,with an IC 50 of approximately 18.50 μg.mL-1.ESC caused significant increase in total apoptotic rate,the activity of caspase 3 and 8,and Fas protein expression(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The inhibitory effect of ESC on NCI-H157 tumor cells might partly be attributed to its apoptotic induction through activation of the Fas death receptor pathway.Xiaoni Liu Yujie Li Qing Yang Ying Chen Xiaogang Weng Yiwei Wang Ning Li Xiaoxin Zhu 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,3:8
2Field corrosion characterization of soil corrosion of X70 pipeline steel in a red clay soil显示文摘The corrosion behavior of X70 pipeline steel buried in red soil environment has been studied. The surface morphology and elemental distribution were determined by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS), and X-ray diffraction(XRD).The corrosion kinetics was evaluated by weight loss measurement. The results show that in red soil, the corrosion rate of X70 steel decreases with time, and follows the exponential decay law. General corrosion with non-uniform and localized pitting occurred on the steel surface. α-Fe OOH was the dominate products during corrosion in whole buried periods, and the corrosion products exhibited well protective properties. The potentiodynamic polarization tests revealed that icorrdecreased with time, indicating the improvement of corrosion resistance. 3Identification and characterization of rice blast resistance gene Pid4 by a combination of transcriptomic profiling and genome analysis显示文摘Map-based cloning of plant disease resistance (R) genes is time-consuming. Here, we reported the isolation of blast R gene Pid4 using comparative transcriptomic profiling and genome-wide sequence analysis. Pid4 encodes a coiled-coil nucleotide-binding site leucine-rich repeat(CC-NBS-LRR) protein and is constitutively expressed at diverse developmental stages in the rice variety Digu. The Pid4 protein is localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. Introduction of Pid4 into susceptible rice cultivars confers race-specific resistance to leaf and neck blast. Amino acid sequence comparison and blast resistance spectrum tests showed that Pid4 is a novel R gene, different from the previously reported R genes located in the same gene cluster. A Pid4 Indel marker was developed to facilitate the identification of Pid4 in different rice varieties. 4Seasonal variation of surface currents in the southwestern Taiwan Strait observed with HF radar显示文摘Long-term measurements from a pair of High-Frequency radar systems deployed near the coast of southern Fujian Province showed that surface currents in the southwestern Taiwan Strait were com-posed mainly of the monsoon-driven, seasonal fluctuation of longshore current and a persistent northeastward background flow with speeds around 10 cm/s. 5Garlic-derived compound S-allylmercaptocysteine inhibits hepatocarcinogenesis through targeting LRP6/Wnt pathway显示文摘Whether and how garlic-derived S-allylmercaptocysteine(SAMC) inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is largely unknown. In the current study, the role of low-density lipoprotein receptor(LDLR)-related protein 6(LRP6) in HCC progression and the anti-HCC mechanism of SAMC was examined in clinical sample, cell model and xenograft/orthotopic mouse models. We demonstrated that SAMC inhibited cell proliferation and tumorigenesis, while induced apoptosis of human HCC cells without influencing normal hepatocytes. SAMC directly interacted with Wnt-pathway co-receptor LRP6 on the cell membrane. LRP6 was frequently over-expressed in the tumor tissue of human HCC patients(66.7% of 48 patients) and its overexpression only correlated with the over-expression of β-catenin, but not with age, gender, tumor size, stage and metastasis. Deficiency or over-expression of LRP6 in hepatoma cells could partly mimic or counteract the anti-tumor properties of SAMC, respectively. In vivo administration of SAMC significantly suppressed the growth of Huh-7 xenograft/orthotopic HCC tumor without causing undesirable side effects. In addition, stable down-regulation of LRP6 in Huh-7 facilitated the anti-HCC effects of SAMC. In conclusion, LRP6 can be a potential therapeutic target of HCC. 6Surface and intrinsic contributions to extinction properties of ZnSe quantum dots显示文摘This work studies extinction properties of ZnSe quantum dots terminated with either Se-surface or Zn-surface(Se-ZnSe or Zn-ZnSe QDs).In addition to commonly observed photoluminescence quenching by anionic surface sites,Se-ZnSe QDs are found to show drastic signatures of Se-surface states in their UV-visible(Vis)absorption spectra.Similar to most QDs reported in literature,monodisperse Zn-ZnSe QDs show sharp absorption features and blue-shifted yet steep absorption edge respect to the bulk bandgap.However,for monodisperse Se-ZnSe QDs,all absorption features are smeared and a low-energy tail is identified to extend to an energy window below the bulk ZnSe bandgap.Along increasing their size,a cyclic growth of ZnSe QDs switches their surface from Zn-terminated to Se-terminated ones,which confirms that the specific absorption signatures are reproducibly repeated between those of two types of the QDs.Though the extinction coefficients per unit of Se-ZnSe QDs are always larger than those of Zn-ZnSe QDs with the same size,both of them approach the same bulk limit.In addition to contribution of the lattice,extinction coefficients per nanocrystal of Zn-ZnSe QDs show an exponential term against their sizes,which is expected for quantum-confinement enhancement of electron-hole wavefunction overlapping.For Se-ZnSe QDs,there is the third term identified for their extinction coefficients per nanocrystal,which is proportional to the square of size of the QDs and consistent with surface contribution.Shangxin Lin Jiongzhao Li Chaodan Pu Hairui Lei Meiyi Zhu Haiyan Qin Xiaogang Peng 2020Nano Research2020,13,3:5

8High-throughput screening for amyloid-β binding natural small-molecules based on the combinational use of biolayer interferometry and UHPLC−DAD-Q/TOF-MS/MS显示文摘Discovery of drugs rapidly and effectively is an important aspect for Alzheimer's disease(AD).In this study,a novel high-throughput screening(HTS)method aims at screening the small-molecules with amyloid-β(Aβ)binding affinity from natural medicines,based on the combinational use of biolayer interferometry(BLI)and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode-array detector and quadrupole/time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry(UHPLC−DAD-Q/TOF-MS/MS)has been firstly developed.Briefly,the components in natural medicines disassociated from biotinylated Aβwere collected to analyze their potential Aβbinding affinity by UHPLC−DAD-Q/TOF-MS/MS.Here,baicalein was confirmed to exhibit the highest binding affinity with Aβin Scutellaria baicalensis.Moreover,polyporenic acid C(PPAC),dehydrotumulosic acid(DTA),and tumulosic acid(TA)in Kai-Xin-San(KXS)were also identified as potent Aβinhibitors.Further bioactivity validations indicated that these compounds could inhibit Aβfibrillation,improve the viability in Aβ-induced PC-12 cells,and decrease the Aβcontent and improve the behavioral ability in Caenorhabditis elegans.The molecular docking results confirmed that PPAC,DTA,and TA possessed good binding properties with Aβ.Collectively,the present study has provided a novel and effective HTS method for the identification of natural inhibitors on Aβfibrillation,which may accelerate the process on anti-AD drugs discovery and development.Minsong Guo Fengdan Zhu Wenqiao Qiu Gan Qiao Betty Yuen-Kwan Law Lu Yu Jianming Wu Yong Tang Chonglin Yu Dalian Qin Xiaogang Zhou Anguo Wu 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,4:3
9Particles in composite polymer electrolyte for solid-state lithium batteries:A review显示文摘Solid-state lithium batteries(SSLBs)have been identified as one kind of the most promising energy conversion and storage devices because of their safety,high energy density,and long cycling life.The development of solid-state electrolyte is vital to commercialize SSLBs.Composite polymer electrolyte(CPE),derived by compositing inorganic particles into solid polymer electrolyte has become the most practical species for SSLBs because it inherits the advantages of polymer electrolyte and simultaneously achieves enhanced ionic conductivity and mechanical properties.The characteristics of inorganic particles and their interaction with polymers strongly impact the performance of CPE,improving its ionic conductivity,mechanical properties,thermal and electrochemical stability,as well as interface compatibility with both electrodes.In this review,the effects of particle characteristics including its species,size,proportion,morphology on the ionic conductivity and mechanical properties of CPE are reviewed.Meanwhile,some novel composite strategies are also introduced including surface modification,hybridization,and alignment of particles in polymer matrices,as well as some new preparation methods of CPE.The interactions between particles and other components in CPE including polymer matrices or lithium salt are particularly focused herein to reveal the lithium conductive mechanism.Finally,a perspective on the direction of future CPE development for SSLBs is presented.Nan Meng Xiaogang Zhu Fang Lian 2022Particuology2022,20,1:3
10Chemo-and Biostratigraphy of the Jurassic Oil Shales from the Qiangtang Basin,Northern Tibet,China:A Case Study of the Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event显示文摘The marine oil shales of the Qiangtang Basin, northern Tibet, exposed in the Biluo Co, Tuonamu, Shenglihe and Changsheshan areas are believed to be important petroleum source rocks. This work comprehensively analyzed the carbon isotopes, trace elements, and calcareous nannofosills, ammonites and bivalves of the Biluo Co section in the Qiangtang Basin. The organic carbon isotopes show a positive excursion close to 2.17‰(relative to PDB), which, albeit significantly smaller, may also be associated with other Early Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Events(T-OAE) in the European epicontinental seas and the Tethyan continental margins. Coinciding with the Early Toarcian transgression, the oxygen deficiency in bottom water had led to dysoxic-anoxic conditions and deposition of black shales lacking benthic fauna. Under such condition, the redox-sensitive trace metals such as Mo, V, Ni, Cr, and U were enriched, in conjunction with high planktonic productivity of Watznaueriaceae calcareous nannofossils. 12Detecting Vulnerability on IoT Device Firmware: A Survey显示文摘Internet of things (IoT) devices make up 30%of all network-connected endpoints,introducing vulnerabilities and novel attacks that make many companies as primary targets for cybercriminals.To address this increasing threat surface,every organization deploying IoT devices needs to consider security risks to ensure those devices are secure and trusted.Among all the solutions for security risks,firmware security analysis is essential to fix software bugs,patch vulnerabilities,or add new security features to protect users of those vulnerable devices.However,firmware security analysis has never been an easy job due to the diversity of the execution environment and the close source of firmware.These two distinct features complicate the operations to unpack firmware samples for detailed analysis.They also make it difficult to create visual environments to emulate the running of device firmware.Although researchers have developed many novel methods to overcome various challenges in the past decade,critical barriers impede firmware security analysis in practice.Therefore,this survey is motivated to systematically review and analyze the research challenges and their solutions,considering both breadth and depth.Specifically,based on the analysis perspectives,various methods that perform security analysis on IoT devices are introduced and classified into four categories.The challenges in each category are discussed in detail,and potential solutions are proposed subsequently.We then discuss the flaws of these solutions and provide future directions for this research field.This survey can be utilized by a broad range of readers,including software developers,cyber security researchers,and software security engineers,to better understand firmware security analysis.Xiaotao Feng Xiaogang Zhu Qing-Long Han Wei Zhou Sheng Wen Yang Xiang 2023IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2023,10,1:2

14Combined Active Islanding Detection Method for Grid-connected Photovoltaic System显示文摘Unintentional islanding phenomenon has been one of the most important problems of gridconnected photovoltaic inverters. To prevent this phenomenon, all kinds of anti-islanding methods have been discussed. This paper presents a combined active islanding detection method, which consists of active frequency drift method and automatic phase-shift method. The traditional active anti-islanding methods of grid-connected PV inverters bear nondetection zone possibilities for certain paralleled RLC loads. The combined method shows islanding detection ability effectively, and it can eliminate nondetection zones even in the worst case conditions. 16Seasonal and interannual variations of surface current in the southern Taiwan Strait to the west of Taiwan Shoals显示文摘Seasonal and interannual variations of surface currents in the southern Taiwan Strait to the west of Taiwan Shoals were investigated by using measurements of high frequency(HF)ground wave radars from January 2006 to April 2009.The results demonstrate that surface currents in the water channel to the west of Taiwan Shoals are composed of a significant,seasonally fluctuating component and a relatively stable northward component.Forced by the East Asia monsoon,the annual variation of the surface longshore current is linearly correlated with the longshore wind.Behind the seasonal signal is a stable northward flow with speeds of O(10 cm/s).The observations also show that surface currents in the area are subject to distinct interannual variation,and the southward surface flow was more profound in winter 2007/2008 than in other winters.Observations from bottom-mounted ADCP also indicated that,in that winter,longshore currents in the west side of the Taiwan Strait are very different from the previous winter.The northward flow appeared much weaker,the currents were southward in most layers,and the interannual differences were observed throughout the water column.Hydrographic observations in the same period suggest that the large-scale southward intrusion of the Zhe-Min coastal water is the direct cause of the interannual difference.The enhancement of the East Asian monsoon during the 2007/2008 La Ni a event is considered as the main reason for the winter current anomalies in the study area.ZHU DaYong LI Li GUO XiaoGang 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,33:1
