1Effect of Jinhua Qinggan granules on novel coronavirus pneumonia in patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of Jinhua Qinggan granules in the treatment of patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID-19).METHODS: Eighty cases of COVID-19 diagnosed from January 24 to February 17, 2020 in Beijing YouAn Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. All 80 patients received symptomatic and supportive treatment.Among them, 44 patients took Jinhua Qinggan granules(treatment group) within 24 h of admission, and the remaining 36 patients either did not take Jinhua Qinggan granules or took the granules for less than 2 d(control group). In this study, we compared the duration of viral nucleic acid detection and of pneumonia absorption improvement between the two groups.RESULTS: Among the 80 cases, 37 were male(46%)and 43 were female(54%) with age ranging from15 to 86 years, with an average age of 51.19 years.The average duration of viral nucleic acid detection was(7 ± 4) d in the Jinhua Qinggan administration group and(10 ± 4) d for the control group(P =0.010), following which, nucleic acid tests were negative. Of the two groups, 56.82% in the Jinhua Qinggan treatment group and 27.78% in the control group demonstrated negative nucleic acid tests within 7 d or less. The 7-day viral clearance rate was significantly higher in the Jinhua Qinggan group compared with the control group(P = 0.009). Furthermore, the pneumonia recovery time indicated by chest CT was(8 ± 4) d in the Jinhua Qinggan group, which was significantly shorter than the control group, at(10 ± 5) d(P = 0.021). 2Levels of synthetic musk fragrances in human milk from three cities in the Yangtze River Delta in Eastern China显示文摘Synthetic musks are used as additives in many household products.After absorption into the human body,they accumulate and their concentrations in human milk reflect both the mother and her infant's exposure level.Concentrations of four synthetic musks,musk xylene(1-tert-butyl-2,6-dimethyl-2,4,6-trinitrobenzene,MX),musk ketone(4-tert-butyl-2,6-dimethyl-3,5-dinitroacetophenone,MK),1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydro-4,6,6,7,8,8-hexamethylcyclopenta[γ]-2-benzopyran(HHCB) and 7-acetyl-1,1,3,4,4,6-hexamethyl-1,2,3,4tetrahydronaphthalene(AHTN),were determined in human milk samples collected from Shanghai,Wuxi,and Shaoxing in Eastern China.The four synthetic musks were found in most samples analyzed,with HHCB the dominant component followed by MX.The median(mean) values for HHCB,AHTN,MX and MK concentrations were 63(82),5(12),17(24) and 4(9) ng/g lipid weight,respectively.These data suggested the total synthetic musk contamination was low,and the distribution percentage was HHCB > MX > AHTN ≈ MK.The relative high ratio of nitro to polycylic musk indicated that nitro musks were still widely used.The musk concentrations in these cities were not significantly different from each other(p > 0.05).Principal components score plots were obtained,which showed similar exposure sources.The amount of total synthetic musks in human milk were not associated with mother's age,although HHCB was significantly correlated with AHTN(p < 0.05).Daily ingestion of HHCB,AHTN,MX and MK for infants from human milk were estimated as(2526 ± 2926),(370 ± 524),(7391 ± 832),and(277 ± 462) ng/day,respectively.Those doses were 1-2 orders of magnitude below the provisional tolerable daily intakes.Xiaolan Zhang Gaofeng Liang Xiangying Zeng Jing Zhou Guoying Sheng Jiamo Fu 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,6:8

4Novel chitosan-ethylene glycol hydrogel for the removal of aqueous perfluorooctanoic acid显示文摘It is urgent to explore an effective removal method for perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)due to its recalcitrant nature.In this study,a novel chitosan-based hydrogel(CEGH)was prepared with a simple method using chitosan and ethylene glycol through a repeated freezingthawing procedure.The adsorption of PFOA anions to CEGH agreed well to the FreundlichLangmuir model with a maximum adsorption capacity as high as 1275.9 mg/g,which is higher than reported values of most adsorbents for PFOA.The adsorption was influenced by experimental conditions.Experimental results showed that the main removal mechanism was the ionic hydrogen bond interaction between carbonyl groups(COO-)of PFOA and protonated amine(NH^+)of the CEGH adsorbent.Therefore,CEGH is a very attractive adsorbent that can be used to remove PFOA from water in the future.Li Long Xiaolan Hu Jinpeng Yan Yifan Zeng Jiaqi Zhang Yingwen Xue 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,10:2

7O_(x)ygen vacancies on the BiOCl surface promoted photocatalytic complete NO oxidation via superoxide radicals显示文摘One of the core issues in the photocatalytic oxidation of nitric oxide is the effective co nversion of NO into the final product(nitrate).More than just improving the visible light photocatalytic performance of BiOCl,we aim to inhibit the generation of toxic by-product NO_(2) during this process.In this study,we demonstrate that the oxygen vacancies(OVs)modulate its surface photogene rated carrier transfer to inflect the NO conversion pathway by a facile mixed solvent method to induce OVs on the surface of BiOCl.The photocatalytic NO removal efficiency under visible light increased from 5.6%to 36.4%.In addition,the production rate of NO_(2) is effectively controlled.The effects of OVs on the generation of reactive oxygen species,electronic transfer,optical properties,and photocatalytic NO oxidation are investigated by combining density functional theory(DFT)theoretical calculations,the in situ FTIR spectra and experimental characterization.The OVs on the surface of BiOCl speed the trapping and transfer of localized electrons to activate the O_(2),producing O_(2)·,which avoid NO_(2) formation,resulting in complete oxidation of NO(NO+O_(2)·→NO_(3)).These findings can serve as the basis for controlling and blocking the generation of highly toxic intermediates through regulating the reactive species during the NO oxidation.It also can help us to understand the role of OV on the BiOCl surface and application of photocatalytic technology for safe air purification.Jiazhen Liao Kanglu Li Hao Ma Fan Dong Xiaolan Zeng Yanjuan Sun 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:1

10Regression Analysis of Nutrient Elements between Soil and Tobacco Leaves and Their Influences on Aroma Quality of Flue-cured Tobacco显示文摘This study aimed to analyze the relationship between nutrient elements K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Mn, Zn and Fe in tobacco-planting soils and tobacco leaves from six main tobacco-producing areas, and to investigate the influences of these elements on chemical composition and aroma components in tobacco leaves. Results showed that there were certain relationship between contents of nutrient elements in tobacco-planting soils and contents of corresponding elements in tobacco leaves; various elements exhibited different influences on the aroma quality of flue-cured tobacco. 11Disclination and molecular director studies on bowlic columnar nematic phase using mosaic-like morphologydecoration method显示文摘Two bowlic cyclotriveratrylene CTV-1 and CTV-2, with different peripheral groups of -OCH3 and -OCH2CH3 for CTV-1 and -OCH3 and -OCH2COOCH3 for CTV-2, respectively, were synthesized by typical trimerization via a multistep sequence from vanillin. Both bowlic CTV molecules were thermotropic liquid crystals, and presented typical grainy textures of the nematic phase and homogeneous texture of the single domain nematic phase. It is of interest to observe the regular and beautiful mosaic-like morphologies after cooling from liquid crystalline phases, which appeared and vanished repeatedly in several circles of cooling and heating. The size of each mosaic was several dozens of micron. In nature, the mosaic-like morphologies are the optical pattern of cracks formed by the shrinking, due to the crystallization of frozen texture of nematic phases. By means of scanning electron microscopy, the mosaic-like morphologies were observed to consist of lamellae, and each mosaic is a rectangular multi-layer lamella, which is composed of packed single-layered lamellae. The fibrils in the diameter of about 1 μm were observed, which are the structural units of lamellae and would be the bundles of the bowlic molecular columns. The mosaic-like morphologies decorate the bowlic molecular columnar nematic phase, therefore, a novel mosaic-like morphologies decoration method was applied to reveal the director distribution of several kinds of point disclinations, such as s = +1(δ =0°and δ =90°) and s = ±1/2, and Nèel domain walls. It was shown that the bowlic molecular columnar nematic phase behaved as normal nematic phases; however, the basic structural units ordered were the bowlic molecular column or the bundles of bowlic molecular column (i.e. fibrils), but not the bowlic molecules themselves. The bowlic molecular columns acted as the rod-like molecules in a normal nematic phase. 14The efficacy assessment of convalescent plasma therapy for COVID-19 patients:a multi-center case series显示文摘Convalescent plasma(CP)transfusion has been indicated as a promising therapy in the treatment for other emerging viral infections.However,the quality control of CP and individual variation in patients in different studies make it rather difficult to evaluate the efficacy and risk of CP therapy for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).We aimed to explore the potential efficacy of CP therapy,and to assess the possible factors associated with its efficacy.We enrolled eight critical or severe COVID-19 patients from four centers.Each patient was transfused with 200–400mL of CP from seven recovered donors.The primary indicators for clinical efficacy assessment were the changes of clinical symptoms,laboratory parameters,and radiological image after CP transfusion.CP donors had a wide range of antibody levels measured by serology tests which were to some degree correlated with the neutralizing antibody(NAb)level.No adverse events were observed during and after CP transfusion.Following CP transfusion,six out of eight patients showed improved oxygen support status;chest CT indicated varying degrees of absorption of pulmonary lesions in six patients within 8 days;the viral load was decreased to a negative level in five patients who had the previous viremia;other laboratory parameters also tended to improve,including increased lymphocyte counts,decreased C-reactive protein,procalcitonin,and indicators for liver function.The clinical efficacy might be associated with CP transfusion time,transfused dose,and the NAb levels of CP.This study indicated that CP might be a potential therapy for severe patients with COVID-19.Hao Zeng Dongfang Wang Jingmin Nie Haoyu Liang Jiang Gu Anne Zhao Lixin Xu Chunhui Lang Xiaoping Cui Xiaolan Guo Changlong Zhou Haibo Li Bin Guo Jinyong Zhang Qiang Wang Li Fang Wen Liu Yishan Huang Wei Mao Yaokai Chen Quanming Zou 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:1

16Development of unilateral obstacle-avoiding mower for Y-trellis pear orchard显示文摘To solve the problem of weeding under Y-trellis pear orchards,a unilateral obstacle-avoiding mower(UOAM)was developed in this study.The mower is composed of an obstacle-avoiding disc mechanism,a hydraulic profiling mechanism,and a cutting disc mechanism.The diameter of the obstacle-avoiding disc was 0.7 m,which could swing around the trunk or ground pile actuated by the spring mechanism.The piston movement of the hydraulic cylinder controls the working position of the obstacle-avoiding disc.The maximum extension distance of the hydraulic profiling arm was 1 m.Based on the national standards and actual situation of orchards,the optimum parameters were determined with a combination of advancing speed of 0.44 m/s,rotation speed of the cutting disc at 2000 r/min,blade number of 2,and cutting edge length of 0.2 m.Finally,the design parameters were verified by the mathematical model of the blade cutting edge trajectory and multi-body dynamics simulation.Taking stubble cutting stability,leakage rate,working efficiency and costs as the test indexes,field performance comparison tests were carried out on the three operation modes of UOAM mowing,shoulder carrying mower(SCM)mowing and manual weeding.Test results showed that the coefficient variation of stubble cutting height of UOAM was the smallest,showing that the working stability of UOAM was better than the other two treatments.The leakage rate of UOAM was 2.42%,and its coefficient variation was lower than that of SCM.The working efficiency of UOAM was much higher than that of SCM and manual weeding,which was 4.44 times of SCM and 20 times of manual weeding.The profitable area of UOAM was 7.02 hm^(2),showing that it was suitable for large-scale mechanized Y-trellis pear orchards.Xiaohui Lei Yannan Qi Jin Zeng Quanchun Yuan Youhong Chang Xiaolan Lyu 2022International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2022,15,1:0
