1Wheat straw burning and its associated impacts on Beijing air quality显示文摘Based on MODIS images, large-scale flow field charts and environmental monitoring data, we thor- oughly analyzed the spatial distribution of wheat straw burning in North China, with focus on its envi- ronmental impacts on the air quality of Beijing and pollution transport paths. And we anatomized changes of air quality in Beijing under the impacts of pollution generated by wheat straw burning around. The results indicate that: (1) The North China Plain, a winter-wheat growing area, is the main source of pollutants induced by wheat straw burning in Beijing. The direction of south-west is the dominant heavy pollution transport path. (2) Impacts of wheat straw burning on air quality are mainly manifested by significantly increasing CO concentration. (3) Precursors of O3 generated by wheat straw burning, combining with favorable meteorological conditions, can induce increasing O3 concentration greatly. NO concentration will be greatly increased due to decreasing O3 concentration at night. (4) Atmospheric particles, especially the fine ones, from wheat straw burning exert considerable influ- ence on Beijing air quality. (5) Different contributions of wheat straw burning to pollutants are identified. Ratios of PM10/SO2, CO/SO2, etc., can be applied to indicate pollution extent of wheat straw burning. High ratios of PM10/SO2 and CO/SO2 show that the air quality was heavily impacted by wheat straw burning and these ratios can be employed as indicators of contribution of wheat straw burning to the degradation of Beijing air quality. (6) Randomness of wheat straw burning activities renders random outbreak of air pollution of this type. 2Aspirin alleviates endothelial gap junction dysfunction through inhibition of NLRP3inflammasome activation in LPS-induced vascular injury显示文摘The loss of endothelial connective integrity and endothelial barrier dysfunction can lead to increased vascular injury, which is related to the activation of endothelial inflammasomes. There are evidences that low concentrations of aspirin can effectively prevent cardiovascular diseases. We hypothesized that low-dose aspirin could ameliorate endothelial injury by inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasomes and ultimately prevent cardiovascular diseases. Microvascular endothelial cells were stimulated by lipopolysaccharide(2 μg/mL) and administrated by 0.1–2 mmol/L aspirin. The wild type mice were stimulated with LPS(100 μg/kg/day), and 1 h later treated with aspirin(12.5, 62.5, or125 mg/kg/day) and dexamethasone(0.0182 mg/kg/day) for 7 days. Plasma and heart were harvested for measurement of ELISA and immunofluorescence analyses. We found that aspirin could inhibit NLRP3 inflammasome formation and activation in vitro in dose-dependent manner and has correlation between the NLRP3 inflammasome and the ROS/TXNIP pathway. We also found that low-concentration aspirin could inhibit the formation and activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and restore the expression of theendothelial tight junction protein zonula occludens-1/2(ZO1/2). 3B-doped and La_(4)NiLiO_(8)-coated Ni-rich cathode with enhanced structural and interfacial stability for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Ni-rich layered oxides are considered promising cathodes for advanced lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)in the future,owing to their high capacity and low cost.However,the issues on structural and interfacial stability of Ni-rich cathodes still pose substantial obstacles in the practical application of advanced LIBs.Here,we employ a one-step method to synthesize a B-doped and La_(4)NiLiO_(8)-coated LiNi_(0.82)5Co_(0.115)Mn_(0.06)O_(2)(BL-1)cathode with reliable structure and interface,for the first time.The La_(4)NiLiO_(8)coating layer can prevent cathodes from electrolyte assault and facilitate Li+diffusion kinetics.Moreover,B-doping can effectively restrain the pernicious H_(2)-H_(3) phase transition and adjust the orientation of primary particles to a radial alignment,which is obstructive to the arise of microcracks induced by the change of anisotropic volume.Specifically,when tested in pouch cells,the BL-1 cathode exhibits outstanding capacity retention of 93.49%after 500 cycles at 1 C.This dual-modification strategy dramatically enhances the stability of the structure and interface for Ni-rich cathode materials,consequently accelerating the commercialization process of high-energy–density LIBs.Lingjun Li Lizhi Fu Miao Li Chu Wang Zixiang Zhao Shangchen Xie Haichen Lin Xianwen Wu Haodong Liu Li Zhang Qiaobao Zhang Lei Tan 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,8:10
4Microstructure and flexural properties of carbon/carbon composite with in-situ grown carbon nanotube as secondary reinforcement显示文摘Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were in-situ grown in carbon felts using ferric chloride as catalyst and natural gas as carbon precursor via thermal gradient chemical vapor infiltration (TGCVI). Subsequently, the carbon felts were densified to obtain CNT reinforced carbon/carbon (C/C) composites in the same furnace. Effects of CNTs on the microstructure and flexural property of C/C composites were investigated by polarized light microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and universal mechanical testing machine. The results of PLM observation and Raman analysis showed that CNTs have two-sided effects on the microstructure of pyrocarbon: the pyrocarbons in the region without CNTs show medium texture; while, in the region full of CNTs, the microstructure was low-textured or even isotropic though the TGCVD conditions would lead to the deposition of pure low texture pyrocarbons. Analysis based on stress-strain curves demonstrated that the flexural strength increased first and then decreased with the CNT content increasing. When the CNT content was 5.23 wt%, the flexural strength was maximum and had a nearly 35% improvement compared with pure C/C composite. 5Human β-defensin 3 gene modification promotes the osteogenic differentiation of human periodontal ligament cells and bone repair in periodontitis显示文摘Efforts to control inflammation and achieve better tissue repair in the treatment of periodontitis have been ongoing for years.Humanβ-defensin 3,a broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptide has been proven to have a variety of biological functions in periodontitis;however,relatively few reports have addressed the effects of human periodontal ligament cells(h PDLCs)on osteogenic differentiation.In this study,we evaluated the osteogenic effects of h PDLCs with an adenoviral vector encoding humanβ-defensin 3 in an inflammatory microenvironment.Then humanβ-defensin 3 gene-modified rat periodontal ligament cells were transplanted into rats with experimental periodontitis to observe their effects on periodontal bone repair.We found that the humanβ-defensin 3 gene-modified h PDLCs presented with high levels of osteogenesis-related gene expression and calcium deposition.Furthermore,the p38 MAPK pathway was activated in this process.In vivo,humanβ-defensin 3 gene-transfected rat PDLCs promoted bone repair in SD rats with periodontitis,and the p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)pathway might also have been involved.These findings demonstrate that humanβ-defensin 3 accelerates osteogenesis and that humanβ-defensin 3 gene modification may offer a potential approach to promote bone repair in patients with periodontitis.Lingjun Li Han Jiang Rixin Chen Jing Zhou Yin Xiao Yangheng Zhang Fuhua Yan 2020International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,2:5
6Catalytic methanation of syngas over Ni-based catalysts with different supports显示文摘Co-precipitation method was selected for the preparation of Ni/Al_2O_3, Ni/ZrO_2 and Ni/CeO_2 catalysts, and their performances in methanation were investigated in this study. The structure and surface properties of these catalysts were characterized by BET, XRD, H_2-TPD, TEM and H_2-TPR. The results showed that the catalytic activity at low temperature followed the order: Ni/Al_2O_3>Ni/ZrO_2>Ni/CeO_2. Ni/Al_2O_3 catalyst presented the best catalytic performance with the highest CH_4 selectivity of 94.5%. 7Long-term clinical observation of patients with acute and chronic complete spinal cord injury after transplantation of Neuro Regen scaffold显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI)often results in an inhibitory environment at the injury site.In our previous studies,transplantation of a scaffold combined with stem cells was proven to induce neural regeneration in animal models of complete SCI.Based on these preclinical studies,collagen scaffolds loaded with the patients’own bone marrow mononuclear cells or human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells were transplanted into SCI patients.Fifteen patients with acute complete SCI and 51 patients with chronic complete SCI were enrolled and followed up for 2 to 5 years.No serious adverse events related to functional scaffold transplantation were observed.Among the patients with acute SCI,five patients achieved expansion of their sensory positions and six patients recovered sensation in the bowel or bladder.Additionally,four patients regained voluntary walking ability accompanied by reconnection of neural signal transduction.Among patients with chronic SCI,16 patients achieved expansion of their sensation level and 30 patients experienced enhanced reflexive defecation sensation or increased skin sweating below the injury site.Nearly half of the patients with chronic cervical SCI developed enhanced finger activity.These long-term follow-up results suggest that functional scaffold transplantation may represent a feasible treatment for patients with complete SCI.Fengwu Tang Jiaguang Tang Yannan Zhao Jiaojiao Zhang Zhifeng Xiao Bing Chen Guang Han Na Yin Xianfeng Jiang Changyu Zhao Shixiang Cheng Ziqiang Wang Yumei Chen Qiaoling Chen Keran Song Zhiwei Zhang Junjie Niu Lingjun Wang Qin Shi Liang Chen Huilin Yang Shuxun Hou Sai Zhang Jianwu Dai 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,5:3
8A review on the upgradingof bio-oil based on separation显示文摘The development of bio-based liquid fuel is important for the substitution of transport fuels.Fast pyrolysis can efficiently convert solid biomass wastes into bio-oil.However,its poor properties limit its high-quality utilization and therefore upgrading is required.Because of the complicated composition,upgrading bio-oil by a single technique faces many problems,such as low conversion efficiency and severe catalyst deactivation.These problems can be largely overcome by graded upgrading based on separation,in which bio-oil is first separated into several fractions and then these fractions are upgraded by different techniques.This paper is a review of the current states in the upgrading of bio-oil fractions obtained from water extraction and vacuum or molecular distillation.The corresponding upgrading techniques include esterification,steam reforming,catalytic cracking,and hydrodeoxygenation. 10Evaluation of the carbon isotopic effects of NDIR and CRDS analyzers on atmospheric CO2 measurements显示文摘Non-dispersive infrared(NDIR) and cavity ring-down spectroscopy(CRDS) CO_2 analyzers use 12CO_2 isotopologue absorption lines and are insensitive to all or part of other CO_2-related isotopologues. This may produce biases in CO_2 mole fraction measurements of a sample if its carbon isotopic composition deviates from that of the standard gases being used. To evaluate and compare the effects of carbon isotopic composition on NDIR and CRDS CO_2 analyzers, we prepared three test sample air cylinders with varying carbon isotopic abundances and calibrated them against five standard cylinders with ambient carbon isotopic composition using CRDS and NDIR systems. We found that the CO_2 mole fractions of the sample cylinders measured by G1301(CRDS) were in good agreement with those measured by Lo Flo(NDIR). The CO_2 values measured by both instruments were higher than that of a CO_2 isotope measured by G2201i(CRDS) analyzer for a test cylinder with depleted carbon isotopic composition δ^(13)C =-36.828‰, whereas no obvious difference was found for other two test cylinders with δ^(13)C=-8.630‰ and δ^(13)C=-15.380‰, respectively.
