1A nomogramfor predicting overall survival in patients with low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma: A population-based analysis显示文摘Background:Low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma(LG-ESS)is a rare tumor that lacks a prognostic prediction model.Our study aimed to develop a nomogram to predict overall survival of LG-ESS patients.Methods:A total of 1172 patients confirmed to have LG-ESS between 1988 and 2015 were selected from the Surveillance,Epidemiology and End Results(SEER)database.They were further divided into a training cohort and a validation cohort.The Akaike information criterion was used to select variables for the nomogram.The discrimination and calibration of the nomogram were evaluated using concordance index(C-index),area under time-dependent receiver operating characteristic curve(time-dependent AUC),and calibration plots.The net benefits of the nomogram at different threshold probabilities were quantified and compared with those of the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics(FIGO)criteria-based tumor staging using decision curve analysis(DCA).Net reclassification index(NRI)and integrated discrimination improvement(IDI)were also used to compare the nomogram’s clinical utilitywith that of the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging.The risk stratifications of the nomogram and the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging were compared.Results:Seven variables were selected to establish the nomogram for LG-ESS.The C-index(0.814 for the training cohort and 0.837 for the validation cohort)and the time-dependent AUC(>0.7)indicated satisfactory discriminative ability of the nomogram.The calibration plots showed favorable consistency between the prediction of the nomogram and actual observations in both the training and validation cohorts.The NRI values(training cohort:0.271 for 5-year and 0.433 for 10-year OS prediction;validation cohort:0.310 for 5-year and 0.383 for 10-year OS prediction)and IDI(training cohort:0.146 for 5-year and 0.185 for 10-year OS prediction;validation cohort:0.177 for 5-year and 0.191 for 10-year OS prediction)indicated that the established nomogram performed significantly better than the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging alone(P<0.05).Furthermore,DCA showed that the nomogram was clinically useful and had better discriminative ability to recognize patients at high risk than the FIGO criteria-based tumor staging.Conclusions:A prognostic nomogram was developed and validated to assist clinicians in evaluating prognosis of LG-ESS patients.Jie Wu Huibo Zhang Lan Li Mengxue Hu Liang Chen Bin Xu Qibin Song 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,7:35
2Risk analysis for the highly pathogenic avian influenza in China's Mainland using meta-modeling显示文摘A logistic model was employed to correlate the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) with related environmental factors and the migration of birds. Based on MODIS data of the normalized difference vegetation index, environmental factors were considered in generating a probability map with the aid of logistic regression. A Bayesian maximum entropy model was employed to explore the spatial and temporal correlations of HPAI incidence. The results show that proximity to water bodies and national highways was statistically relevant to the occurrence of HPAI. Migratory birds, mainly waterfowl, were important infection sources in HPAI transmission. In addition, the HPAI outbreaks had high spatiotemporal autocorrelation. This epidemic spatial range fluctuated 45 km owing to different distribution patterns of cities and water bodies. Furthermore, two outbreaks were likely to occur with a period of 22 d. 3The novel H1N1 Influenza A global airline transmission and early warning without travel containments显示文摘A novel influenza A (H1N1) has been spreading worldwide. Early studies implied that international air travels might be key cause of a severe potential pandemic without appropriate containments. In this study, early outbreaks in Mexico and some cities of United States were used to estimate the preliminary epidemic parameters by applying adjusted SEIR epidemiological model, indicating transmissibility infectivity of the virus. According to the findings, a new spatial allocation model totally based on the real-time airline data was established to assess the potential spreading of H1N1 from Mexico to the world. Our estimates find the basic reproductive number R0 of H1N1 is around 3.4, and the effective reproductive number fall sharply by effective containment strategies. 4A fully automatic registration approach based on contour and SIFT for HJ-1 images显示文摘To achieve a fully automatic registration between HJ-1 CCD images and HJ-1 infrared images is a difficult task as it must deal with the varying illuminations and resolutions of the images,different perspectives,and the local deformations within the images.In this paper,aimed at those registration issues,a fully automatic registration approach based on contour and SIFT is proposed.The registration technique performs a pre-registration process using contour feature matching algorithm that decides the overlapping region between a reference image and an input image.Once the coarse regions are obtained,it performs a fine registration process based on SIFT detector and a local adaptive matching strategy.In the fine registration process,image blocking theory is used,which not only speeds up the features extraction and matching,but also makes the matching point pairs distributed uniformly in images,and further improves the accuracy of input image rectification.Experiments with visible images and infrared images from HJ-1A/B demonstrate the efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed technique for multisource remote sensing images registration.NI XiLiang CAO ChunXiang DING Lin JIANG Tao ZHANG Hao JIA HuiCong LI GuangHe ZHAO Jian CHEN Wei JI Wei XU Min GAO MengXu ZHENG Sheng TIAN Rong LIU Cheng LI Sha 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,10:5

6Establishment of genomic library technology mediated by non-homologous end joining mechanism in Yarrowia lipolytica显示文摘Genomic variants libraries are conducive to obtain dominant strains with desirable phenotypic traits.The non-homologous end joining(NHEJ),which enables foreign DNA fragments to be randomly integrated into different chromosomal sites,shows prominent capability in genomic libraries construction.In this study,we established an efficient NHEJ-mediated genomic library technology in Yarrowia lipolytica through regulation of NHEJ repair process,employment of defective Ura marker and optimization of iterative transformations,which enhanced genes integration efficiency by 4.67,22.74 and 1.87 times,respectively.We further applied this technology to create high lycopene producing strains by multi-integration of heterologous genes of CrtE,CrtB and CrtI,with 23.8 times higher production than rDNA integration through homologous recombination(HR).The NHEJ-mediated genomic library technology also achieved random and scattered integration of loxP and vox sites,with the copy number up to 65 and 53,respectively,creating potential for further application of recombinase mediated genome rearrangement in Y.lipolytica.This work provides a high-efficient NHEJ-mediated genomic library technology,which enables random and scattered genomic integration of multiple heterologous fragments and rapid generation of diverse strains with superior phenotypes within 96 h.This novel technology also lays an excellent foundation for the development of other genetic technologies in Y.lipolytica.Qiuyan Bai Shuai Cheng Jinlai Zhang Mengxu Li Yingxiu Cao Yingjin Yuan 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,12:4
7Symptom network topological features predict the effectiveness of herbal treatment for pediatric cough显示文摘Pediatric cough is a heterogeneous condition in terms of symptoms and the underlying disease mechanisms.Symptom phenotypes hold complicated interactions between each other to form an intricate network structure.This study aims to investigate whether the network structure of pediatric cough symptoms is associated with the prognosis and outcome of patients.A total of 384 cases were derived from the electronic medical records of a highly experienced traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) physician.The data were divided into two groups according to the therapeutic effect,namely,an invalid group (group A with 40 cases of poor efficacy) and a valid group (group B with 344 cases of good efficacy).Several well-established analysis methods,namely,statistical test,correlation analysis,and complex network analysis,were used to analyze the data.This study reports that symptom networks of patients with pediatric cough are related to the effectiveness of treatment: a dense network of symptoms is associated with great difficulty in treatment.Interventions with the most different symptoms in the symptom network may have improved therapeutic effects.Mengxue Huang Jingjing Wang Runshun Zhang Zhuying Ni Xiaoying Liu Wenwen Liu Weilian Kong Yao Chen Tiantian Huang Guihua Li Dan Wei Jianzhong Liu Xuezhong Zhou 2020Frontiers of Medicine2020,14,3:4
8Effect of scar-producing moxibustion at the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL 13) on neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and quality of life in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer: A randomized,controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of heat stimulation via scar-producing moxibustion at the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL 13) on the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR) and quality of life in patients with non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).METHODS: Seventy patients with NSCLC were randomly assigned into two groups: group A received scar-producing moxibustion at the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL 13) every day for 6 weeks, while group B received no intervention(control group). Outcome measures were the NLR and the scores from the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire(EORTC QLQ-C30). The NLR and the EORTC QLQ-C30 were assessed at baseline and at the end of 6 weeks.RESULTS: Five participants dropped out, leaving afinal total of 65 participants who completed the trial. Groups A and B had a similar mean NLR at baseline. After the treatment course, the NLR in group A was significantly lower than that in group B(P <0.001). Compared with group B, the EORTC QLQ-C30 scores in group A were significantly greater in terms of global health status or quality of life(P < 0.001) and function(P < 0.05), and significantly lower in terms of symptoms(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: The present study suggests that performing scar-producing moxibustion by heat-stimulating the acupoints Zusanli(ST 36) and Feishu(BL13) effectively decreases the NLR and improves the quality of life in patients with NSCLC.Zhang Mengxue Guan Ling Wang Lili Li Ying 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,3:3
9PMN-MDSCs modulated by CCL20 from cancer cells promoted breast cancer cell stemness through CXCL2-CXCR2 pathway显示文摘Our previous studies have showed that C-C motif chemokine ligand 20(CCL20)advanced tumor progression and enhanced the chemoresistance of cancer cells by positively regulating breast cancer stem cell(BCSC)self-renewal.However,it is unclear whether CCL20 affects breast cancer progression by remodeling the tumor microenvironment(TME).Here,we observed that polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMN-MDSCs)were remarkably enriched in TME of CCL20-overexpressing cancer cell orthotopic allograft tumors.Mechanistically,CCL20 activated the differentiation of granulocyte-monocyte progenitors(GMPs)via its receptor C-C motif chemokine receptor 6(CCR6)leading to the PMN-MDSC expansion.PMN-MDSCs from CCL20-overexpressing cell orthotopic allograft tumors(CCL20-modulated PMN-MDSCs)secreted amounts of C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 2(CXCL2)and increased ALDH+BCSCs via activating CXCR2/NOTCH1/HEY1 signaling pathway.Furthermore,C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2(CXCR2)antagonist SB225002 enhanced the docetaxel(DTX)effects on tumor growth by decreasing BCSCs in CCL20high-expressing tumors.These findings elucidated how CCL20 modulated the TME to promote cancer development,indicating a new therapeutic strategy by interfering with the interaction between PMN-MDSCs and BCSCs in breast cancer,especially in CCL20high-expressing breast cancer.Rui Zhang Mengxue Dong Juchuanli Tu Fengkai Li Qiaodan Deng Jiahui Xu Xueyan He Jiajun Ding Jie Xia Dandan Sheng Zhaoxia Chang Wei Ma Haonan Dong Yi Zhang Lixing Zhang Lu Zhang Suling Liu 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,4:2

11Transcriptional regulation of fleshy fruit texture显示文摘Fleshy fruit texture is a critically important quality characteristic of ripe fruit.Softening is an irreversible process which operates in most fleshy fruits during ripening which,together with changes in color and taste,contributes to improvements in mouthfeel and general attractiveness.Softening results mainly from the expression of genes encoding enzymes responsible for cell wall modifications but starch degradation and high levels of flavonoids can also contribute to texture change.Some fleshy fruit undergo lignification during development and post-harvest,which negatively affects eating quality.Excessive softening can also lead to physical damage and infection,particularly during transport and storage which causes severe supply chain losses.Many transcription factors(TFs)that regulate fruit texture by controlling the expression of genes involved in cell wall and starch metabolism have been characterized.Some TFs directly regulate cell wall targets,while others act as part of a broader regulatory program governing several aspects of the ripening process.In this review,we focus on advances in our understanding of the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms governing fruit textural change during fruit development,ripening and postharvest.Potential targets for breeding and future research directions for the control of texture and quality improvement are discussed.Yanna Shi Bai-Jun Li Guanqing Su Mengxue Zhang Donald Grierson Kun-Song Chen 2022Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2022,64,9:2

13Regulating the morphology of fluorinated non-fullerene acceptor and polymer donor via binary solvent mixture for high efficiency polymer solar cells显示文摘Fluorinated non-fullerene acceptors(NFAs) usually have planar backbone and a higher tendency to crystallize compared to their non-fluorinated counterparts, which leads to enhanced charge mobility in organic solar cells(OSCs). However, this selforganization behavior may result in excessive phase separation with electron donors and thereby deteriorate device efficiency.Herein, we demonstrate an effective approach to tune the molecular organization of a fluorinated NFA(INPIC-4 F), and its phase separation with the donor PBDB-T, by varying the casting solvent. A prolonged film drying time encourages the crystallization of INPIC-4 F into spherulites and consequently results in excessive phase separation, leading to a low device power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 8.1%. Contrarily, a drying time leads to fine mixed domains with inefficient charge transport properties,resulting in a moderate device PCE of 11.4%. An intermediate film drying time results in the formation of face-on π-π stacked PBDB-T and INPIC-4 F domains with continuous phase-separated networks, which facilitates light absorption, exciton dissociation as well as balanced charge transport towards the electrode, and achieves a remarkable PCE of 13.1%. 14Amphiphilic sodium alginate-vinyl acetate microparticles for drug delivery显示文摘To overcome the fast or burst release of hydrophilic drugs from hydrophilic alginate-based carriers,hydrophobic molecule(vinyl acetate,VAc)was grafted on alginate(Alg),which was further used to prepare drug carriers.Amphiphilic Alg-g-PVAc hydrogel beads were firstly prepared by emulsification/internal gelation technique for the loading of bovine serum albumin(BSA).Then,chitosan was coated on the surface of beads to form novel amphiphilic Alg-g-PVAc/chitosan(Alg-g-PVAc/CS)microcapsules.The BSA-loading amphiphilic Alg-g-PVAc/chitosan(Alg-g-PVAc/CS)microcapsules display similar morphology and size to the hydrophilic alginate/chitosan(AC)microcapsules.However,the drug loading and loading efficiency of BSA in Alg-g-PVAc/CS microcapsules are higher,and the release rate of BSA from Alg-g-PVAc/CS microcapsules is slower.The results demonstrate that the introduction of hydrophobic PVAc on alginate can effectively help retard the release of BSA,and the higher degree of substitution is,the slower the release rate is.In addition,the complex membrane can also be adjusted to delay the release of BSA.As a whole,amphiphilic sodium alginate-vinyl acetate/CS microparticles could be developed for macromolecular drug delivery.YU Weiting ZHANG Demeng LIU Xiudong WANG Yunhong TONG Jun ZHANG Mengxue MA Xiaojun 2019Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2019,37,3:2
15Assessment of the three factors affecting Myanmar’s forest cover change using Landsat and MODIS vegetation continuous fields data显示文摘Long-term observation of the earth is essential for studying the factors affecting global environmental changes.Digital earth technology can facilitate the monitoring of global environmental change with its ability to process vast amounts of information.In this study,we map the forest cover change of Myanmar from 2000 to 2005 using a training data automation procedure and support vector machines algorithm.Our results show that Myanmar’s forests have declined 0.68%annually over this six-year period.We validated our derived change results and found the overall accuracy to be greater than 88%.We also assessed forest loss from protected areas,areas close to roads,and areas subject to fire,which were most likely to lose forested area.The results revealed the main reasons for forest losses in some hotspots to be increased agricultural conversion,fire,and the construction of highways.This information is useful for identifying the driving forces behind forest changes and to support environmental policy development in Myanmar.Fu-Jiang Liu Chengquan Huang Yong Pang Mengxue Li Dan-Xia Song Xiao-Peng Song Saurabh Channan Joseph O.Sexton Die Jiang Ping Zhang Yan Guo Yao-Feng Li John R.Townshend 2016International Journal of Digital Earth2016,9,6:1

17Large-Size Honeycomb-Shaped and Iris-Like Liquid Crystal Elastomer Actuators显示文摘Nature is providing inspiration for researchers to mimic its functions or existing structures,which could remarkably promote the development of new materials.Here,a large-size honeycomb-shaped liquid crystal elastomer(LCE)actuator with LC orientation along the height of the honeycomb shape is built by combining magnetic field alignment and soft lithography technology.This homeotropic alignment allowed the height contraction of honeycomb and pore size expansion of hexagons in a reversible manner upon temperature variation.Therefore,this LCE actuator can be used as a structure for temperature-gated separation of particles.Another example is an iris-like LCE actuator,which has the capability of adjusting its aperture size with a temperature variation.Our approach provides a simple way to design customizable sophisticated LCE actuators for various potential applications.Bin Ni Gaoyu Liu Mengxue Zhang Patrick Keller Michael Tatoulian Min-Hui Li 2022CCS Chemistry2022,4,3:1

19A stretchable and adhesive ionic conductor based on polyacrylic acid and deep eutectic solvents显示文摘Hydrogels are a widely used ionic conductor in on-skin electronic and iontronic devices.However,hydrogels dehydrate in the open air and freeze at low temperatures,limiting their real applications when they are attached on skin or exposed to low temperatures.Polymer-ionic liquid gels can overcome these two obstacles,but synthetic ionic liquids are expensive and toxic.In this work,we present an ionic conductor based on polyacrylic acid(PAAc)and deep eutectic solvents(DESs)that well addresses the aforementioned challenges.We polymerize acrylic acid in DESs to get the PAAc–DES gel,which exhibits excellent stretchability(>1000%),high electrical conductivity(1.26 mS cm^(−1)),high adhesion to the skin(~100 Nm^(−1)),as well as good anti-drying and anti-freezing properties.We also demonstrate that the PAAc-DES gel can be used as an on-skin electrode to record the surface electromyographic signal with high signal quality,or as a transparent stretchable electrode in iontronic devices that can work at–20℃.We believe that the PAAc–DES gels are an ideal candidate as epidermal electrodes or transparent stretchable electrodes.Gang Li Zhihao Deng Minkun Cai Kaixi Huang Mengxue Guo Ping Zhang Xingyu Hou Yuan Zhang Yueji Wang Yan Wang Xiang Wu Chuan Fei Guo 2021npj Flexible Electronics2021,5,1:1
