1The HuangZaoSi Maize Genome Provides Insights into Genomic Variation and Improvement History of Maize显示文摘Maize is a globally important crop that was a classic model plant for genetic studies. Here, we report a 2.2 Gb draft genome sequence of an elite maize line, HuangZaoSi (HZS). Hybrids bred from HZS-improved lines (HILs) are planted in more than 60% of maize fields in China. Proteome clustering of six completed sequeneed maize genomes show that 638 proteins fall into 264 HZS-specific gene families with the majority of contributions from tandem duplication events. Resequencing and comparative analysis of 40 HZSrelated lines reveals the breeding history of HILs. More than 60% of identified selective sweeps were clustered in identity.by.descent conserved regions, and yield-related genes/QTLs were enriched in HZS characteristic selected regions. Furthermore, we dem on strated that HZS-specific family genes were not uniformly distributed in the genome but enriched in improvement/function.related genomic regions. 2The study on the safety and efficacy of amnion graft for preventing the recurrence of moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions显示文摘Transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA)is the standard treatment for the intrauterine adhesions,but the recurrence of adhesions is a tough problem for the gynecologist.In addition,the therapeutic strategy after TCRA about prevention of recurrence remains controversial especially for the patients with moderate to severe intrauterine adhesions(IUAs).Hence,we designed this study to explore the safety and efficacy of fresh amnion grafts for preventing the recurrence after TCRA for patients with moderate to severe IUAs.One hundred patients with moderate to severe IUAs who presented with a history of hypomenorrhea,amenorrhea and infertility were included in the study from January 2015 to December 2017.Patients were divided into amnion group(52 patients)and chitosan group(48 patients).Fresh amnion grafts or intrauterine injections of chitosan were administered after TCRA.Transvaginal ultrasonography(TVUS)and hysteroscopy were performed at the first and third month after the operation.The surgical procedures for all patients were completed successfully without relevant complications.In amnion group,8 patients exhibited relapse in the first month and 2 patients in three months after surgery;in chitosan group,23 women exhibited relapse in the first month and 18 patients in three months after surgery.Statistical analysis revealed that the recurrence rate of adhesion in amnion group was significantly lower than those of chitosan group in the first and three months after surgery(P1=0.000,P2=0.000).After TCRA,fresh amnion graft plays a significant role in preventing further adhesions than injections of chitosan.Changjiang Li Aiqi Cai Congcong Sun Benyuan Wu Xinpei Chen Yanhua Mao Yingfeng Zhang Yating Gou Jie Yu Yuhan Wang Huanhuan Yu Jia Wang 2020Genes & Diseases2020,7,2:11

4The apricot(Prunus armeniaca L.)genome elucidates Rosaceae evolution and beta-carotenoid synthesis显示文摘Apricots,scientifically known as Prunus armeniaca L,are drupes that resemble and are closely related to peaches or plums.As one of the top consumed fruits,apricots are widely grown worldwide except in Antarctica.A high-quality reference genome for apricot is still unavailable,which has become a handicap that has dramatically limited the elucidation of the associations of phenotypes with the genetic background,evolutionary diversity,and population diversity in apricot.DNA from P.armeniaca was used to generate a standard,size-selected library with an average DNA fragment size of~20 kb.The library was run on Sequel SMRT Cells,generating a total of 16.54 Gb of PacBio subreads(N50=13.55 kb).The high-quality P.armeniaca reference genome presented here was assembled using long-read single-molecule sequencing at approximately 70×coverage and 171×Illumina reads(40.46 Gb),combined with a genetic map for chromosome scaffolding.The assembled genome size was 221.9 Mb,with a contig NG50 size of 1.02 Mb.Scaffolds covering 92.88%of the assembled genome were anchored on eight chromosomes.Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs analysis showed 98.0%complete genes.We predicted 30,436 protein-coding genes,and 38.28%of the genome was predicted to be repetitive.We found 981 contracted gene families,1324 expanded gene families and 2300 apricot-specific genes.The differentially expressed gene(DEG)analysis indicated that a change in the expression of the 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase(NCED)gene but not lycopene beta-cyclase(LcyB)gene results in a lowβ-carotenoid content in the white cultivar“Dabaixing”.This complete and highly contiguous P.armeniaca reference genome will be of help for future studies of resistance to plum pox virus(PPV)and the identification and characterization of important agronomic genes and breeding strategies in apricot.Fengchao Jiang Junhuan Zhang Sen Wang Li Yang Yingfeng Luo Shenghan Gao Meiling Zhang Shuangyang Wu Songnian Hu Haoyuan Sun Yuzhu Wang 2019Horticulture Research2019,6,1:9
5Research on the Relationship between Molecular Activity of Additives and Lubricating Performance of Aluminum Rolling Oil显示文摘In this paper,an ab initio,local density functional(LDF)method was used to explore the relationship between the molecular properties of additives and the lubricating performance of aluminum rolling oil.The structural properties of butyl stearate,dodecanol,docosanol,and methyl dodecanoate were studied according to the density functional theory.The calculated data showed that the atoms in or around the functional groups might be likely the reacting sites.Because of the different functional groups and structure of ester and alcohol,two types of complex additives,dodecanol and butyl stearate,methyl dodecanoate and butyl stearate,respectively,were chosen for studying their tribological properties and performing aluminum cold rolling experiments.The test results agreed with the calculated results very well.The complex ester,viz.methyl dodecanoate and butyl stearate,had the best lubricating performance with a friction coefficient of 0.084 1 and a permissive-rolling thickness of 0.040 mm as compared with that of dodecanol-butyl stearate-base oil formulation.Xia Lei Sun Jianlin Zeng Yingfeng Zhang Min Duan Qinghua 2013China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2013,15,3:6

7Multiscale modeling of mechanical behavior and failure mechanism of 3D angle-interlock woven aluminum composites subjected to warp/weft directional tension loading显示文摘The mechanical behavior and progressive damage mechanism of novel aluminum matrix composites reinforced with 3D angle-interlock woven carbon fibers were investigated using a multiscale modeling approach.The mechanical properties and failure of yarns were evaluated using a microscale model under different loading scenarios.On this basis,a mesoscale model was developed to analyze the tensile behavior and failure mechanism of the composites.The interfacial decohesion,matrix damage,and failure of fibers and yarns were incorporated into the microscopic and mesoscopic models.The stress–strain curves and fracture modes from simulation show good agreement with the experimental curves and fracture morphology.Local interface and matrix damage initiate first under warp directional tension.Thereafter,interfacial failure,weft yarn cracking,and matrix failure occur successively.Axial fracture of warp yarn,which displays a quasi-ductile fracture characteristic,dominates the ultimate composites failure.Under weft directional tension,interfacial failure and warp yarn rupture occur at the early and middle stages.Matrix failure and weft yarn fracture emerge simultaneously at the final stage,leading to the cata-strophic failure of composites.The weft directional strength and fracture strain are lower than the warp directional ones because of the lower weft density and the more serious brittle fracture of weft yarns.Zhenjun WANG Siyuan YANG Shiping SUN Yingfeng ZHANG Changchun CAI Bowen XIONG Wei YANG Zhifeng XU Huan YU 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,8:4
8Kinetics and mechanisms of mitotic inheritance of DNA methylation and their roles in aging-associated methylome deterioration显示文摘Mitotic inheritance of the DNA methylome is a challenging task for the maintenance of cell identity.Whether DNA methylation pattern in different genomic contexts can all be faithfully maintained is an open question.A replication-coupled DNA methylation maintenance model was proposed decades ago,but some observations suggest that a replication-uncoupled maintenance mechanism exists.However,the capacity and the underlying molecular events of replication-uncoupled maintenance are unclear.By measuring maintenance kinetics at the single-molecule level and assessing mutant cells with perturbation of various mechanisms,we found that the kinetics of replication-coupled maintenance are governed by the UHRF1–Ligase 1 and PCNA–DNMT1 interactions,whereas nucleosome occupancy and the interaction between UHRF1 and methylated H3K9 specifically regulate replication-uncoupled maintenance.Surprisingly,replication-uncoupled maintenance is sufficiently robust to largely restore the methylome when replication-coupled maintenance is severely impaired.However,solo-WCGW sites and other CpG sites displaying aging-and cancer-associated hypomethylation exhibit low maintenance efficiency,suggesting that although quite robust,mitotic inheritance of methylation is imperfect and that this imperfection may contribute to selective hypomethylation during aging and tumorigenesis.Xuan Ming Zhuqiang Zhang Zhuoning Zou Cong Lv Qiang Dong Qixiang He Yangyang Yi Yingfeng Li Hailin Wang Bing Zhu 2020Cell Research2020,30,11:4
9LiPO_(2)F_(2) electrolyte additive for high-performance Li-rich cathode material显示文摘Li-rich layered oxide cathodes have received considerable attention because of the high operating potential and specific capacity. However, the structural instability and parasitic reactions at high potential cause severe degradation of the electrochemical performance. In our studies, the cycling stability of Li_(1.14)Ni_(0.133)Co_(0.133)Mn_(0.544)O_(2) cathode is improved with LiPO_(2)F_(2) electrolyte additive. After 500 cycles, the capacity retention is increased from 53.6% to 85% at 3 C by LiPO_(2)F_(2) modification. This performance is mainly attributed to the enhanced interfacial stability of the Li-rich cathode. Based on systematic characterization, LiPO_(2)F_(2) additive was found to promote a stable interface film on the cathode surface during the cycling and mitigates the interfacial side reactions. 10Importance measure of system reliability upgrade for multi-state consecutive k-out-of-n systems显示文摘Importance measures in reliability systems are used to identify weak components in contributing to a proper function of the system. Traditional importance measures mainly concerned the changing value of the system reliability caused by the change of the reliability of the component, and seldom considered the joint effect of the probability distribution, improvement rate of the object component. This paper studies the rate of the system reliability upgrading with an improvement of the component reliability for the multi-state consecutive k-out-of-n system. To verify the multi-state consecutive k-out-of-n system reliability upgrading by improving one component based on its improvement rate, an increasing potential importance (IPI) and its physical meaning are described at first. Secondly, the relationship between the IPI and Birnbaum importance measures are discussed. And the IPI for some different improvement actions of the component is further discussed. Thirdly, the characteristics of the IPI are analyzed. 12Polymer solar cells with an inverted device configuration using polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane-[60]fullerene dyad as a novel electron acceptor显示文摘A polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane-[60]fullerene (POSS-C60) dyad was designed and used as a novel electron acceptor for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) polymer solar cells (PSCs) with an inverted device configuration. The studies of time-resolved photoinduced absorption of the pristine thin film of poly[(4,4'-bis(2-ethylhexyl)dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d]silole)-2,6-diyl-alt-(4,7-bis (2-thienyl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole)-5,5'-diyl] (SiPCPDTBT) and the composite thin film of SiPCPDTBT:POSS-C60 indicated efficient electron transfer from SiPCPDTBT to POSS-C60 with inhibited back-transfer. BHJ PSCs made by SiPCPDTBT mixed with POSS-C60 yielded the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) of 1.50%. Under the same operational conditions, PCEs observed from BHJ PSCs made by SiPCPDTBT mixed with [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester were 0.92%. 13BIGpre: A Quality Assessment Package for Next-Generation Sequencing Data显示文摘The emergence of next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies has significantly improved sequencing throughput and reduced costs. However, the short read length, duplicate reads and massive volume of data make the data processing much more difficult and complicated than the first-generation sequencing technology. Although there are some software packages developed to assess the data quality, those packages either are not easily available to users or require bioinformatics skills and computer resources. Moreover, almost all the quality assessment software currently available didn't taken into account the sequencing errors when dealing with the duplicate assessment in NGS data. Here, we present a new user-friendly quality assessment software package called BIGpre, which works for both Illumina and 454 platforms. BIGpre contains all the functions of other quality assessment software, such as the correlation between forward and reverse reads, read GC-content distribution, and base Ns quality. More importantly, BIGpre incorporates associated programs to detect and remove duplicate reads after taking sequencing errors into account and trimming low quality reads from raw data as well. BIGpre is primarily written in Perl and integrates graphical capability from the statistics package R. This package produces both tabular and graphical summaries of data quality for sequencing datasets from Illumina and 454 platforms. Processing hundreds of millions reads within minutes, this package provides immediate diagnostic information for user to manipulate sequencing data for downstream analyses. 17Preparation and Characterization of Phenolic Prepolymer Impregnated Chinese Fir by Cyclic Increasing-Pressure Method with Green and Efficient显示文摘The Chinese fir wood was impregnated using a cyclic increasingpressure method(CIPM)with phenolic prepolymers as the impregnating modifier.Unmodified Chinese fir and progressive increasing-pressure method(PIPM)impregnated Chinese fir were used as reference samples and were compared and analyzed.The product’s chemical structure,internal morphology,crystal structure,and heat resistance were characterized.The transversal and longitudinal sections showed better filling effects,so that it bore greater external loading and reduced the water storage space.CIPM infused more phenolic prepolymer into the Chinese fir.Not only producing more physical filling but also forming more hydrogen bond associations and chemical bond combinations.Compared with PIPM and unmodi-fied Chinese fir,the CIPM impregnated Chinese fir had better mechanical strength and water resistance.The cellulose chains in CIPM impregnated Chinese fir were more closely linked and their crystallinity were clearly improved.Changes in internal morphology and crystal structure explained the reason why the mechanical properties and water resistance of CIPM impregnated Chinese fir were improved significantly.This Chinese fir had lower thermal decomposition rates,higher decomposition residual rates,and smaller combustion flames,which confirmed that it possessed improved heat and fire resistance.Yuan Zhang Ping Li Yiqiang Wu Guangming Yuan Xianjun Li Yingfeng Zuo 2020Journal of Renewable Materials2020,8,11:2

19Ethyl acetate fraction in ethanol extract from root of 'Dai-Bai-Jie' (Marsdenia tenacissima):anti-tumor activity in A549cancer cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the anti-tumor activity of ethyl acetate fraction(EFA), extracted with ethanol from the root of 'Dai-Bai-Jie' in A549 cancer cells and its underlying mechanism.METHODS: 'Dai-Bai-Jie' was extracted with 95%ethanol-aqueous(DBJ-1), 50% ethanol-aqueous(DBJ-2), and water(DBJ-3) by reflux method. 95%ethanol-aqueous extract was separated byethyl acetate(EFA) and n-butyl alcohol(DBJ-5), consecutively. The SRB method was used to evaluate the cytotoxic activity. Annexin V-FITC staining was applied to observe the apoptosis and analyze the cell cycle activated by EFA in A549 tumor cell. Western blot was used to detect the apoptosis/related pro-teins expressions. A549 tumor cellsbearing nude mice model was employed to measure the tumor volume, mice weight, and tumor inhibition ratio in order to verify the antitumor activity in vivo.RESULTS: DBJ-1 and EFA showed better cytotoxic activity on A549 tumor cells with IC5025 and 3.5 μg/mL, respectively. EFA can exhibit the proliferation,arrest cell cycle at G0/G1 phase, and induce apoptosis in A549 tumor cells in vitro. The mechanisms of apoptosis induced by EFA may be associated with decreasing Bcl-2 protein expression and increasing p53, Bax, Caspase-3, and Caspase-8 proteins expression. EFA also possessed significant anti-tumor efficacy in nude mice, and little toxicity was observed in the host.CONCLUSION: EAF could induce A549 tumor cells apoptosis and G0/G1 cell cycle arrest.
