1A human circulating immune cell landscape in aging and COVID-19显示文摘Age-associated changes in immune cells have been linked to an increased risk for infection.However,a global and detailed characterization of the changes that human circulating immune cells undergo with age is lacking.Here,we combined scRNA-seq,mass cytometry and sCATAC-seq to compare immune cell types in peripheral blood collected from young and old subjects and patients with COVID-19.We found that the immune cell landscape was reprogrammed with age and was characterized by T cell polarization from naive and memory cells to effector,cytotoxic,exhausted and reg-ulatory cells,along with increased late natural killer cells,age-associated B cells,inflammatory monocytes and age-associated dendritic cells.In addition,the expression of genes,which were implicated in coron-avirus susceptibility,was upregulated in a cell subtype-specific manner with age.Notably,COVID-19 promoted age-induced immune cell polarization and gene expression related to inflammation and cellular senes-cence.Therefore,these findings suggest that a dysreg-ulated immune system and increased gene expression associated with SARS-CoV-2 susceptibility may at least partially account for COVID-19 vulnerability in the elderly.Yingfeng Zheng Xiuxing Liu Wenqing Le Lihui Xie He Li Wen Wen Si Wang Shuai Ma Zhaohao Huang Jinguo Ye Wen Shi Yanxia Ye Zunpeng Liu Moshi Song Weiqi Zhang Jing-Dong J.Han Juan Carlos lzpisua Belmonte Chuanle Xiao Jing Qu Hongyang Wang Guang-Hui Liu Wenru Su 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,10:10
2Excellent light-capture capability of trilobal SiNW for ultra-high JSC in single-nanowire solar cells显示文摘Single-.nanowire solar cells with a unique light-concentration property are expected to exceed the Shockley-Queisser limit.The architecture of single nanowire is an important factor to regulate its optical performance.We designed a trilobal silicon nanowire(SiNW)with two cquivalent scales that possesses superior light-absorption efficiency in the whole wavelength range and shows good tolerance for incident angle.The electric field distribution in this geometry is concentrated in the blade with small equivalent scale and pivot with large equivalent scale,respectively,in the short wavelength range and long wavelength range.Corresponding good light absorption of trilobal SiNW in the two wavelength ranges leads to stronger total light absorption capacity than that of cylindrical SiNW.Trilobal single nanowire solar cells can obtain a short-circuit current density(JSC)of 647 mA·cm^2,which provides a new choice for designing single nanowire with excellent light-capture capability.ZHONGLIANG GAO GUILU Lin YUPENG ZHENG NA SANG YINGFENG LI LEI CHEN MEICHENG LI 2020Photonics Research2020,8,6:2

5Vapor-liquid equilibrium properties for confined binary mixtures involving CO_2,CH_4,and N_2 from Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo simulations显示文摘The effects of solid-fluid interactions on the vapor-liquid phase diagram,coexistence density,relative volatility and vaporization enthalpy have been investigated for confined binary systems of CO 2-CH 4,CO 2-N 2 and CH 4-N 2.The Gibbs ensemble Monte Carlo(GEMC) simulation results indicate that the confinement and the solid-fluid interaction have significant influences on the vapor-liquid equilibrium properties.The confinement and the strength of the solid-fluid interaction make the p-x i phase diagram move to higher pressure regions.They also make the two-phase region become narrower for each binary mixture.The strength of the solid-fluid interactions can cause increases in the coexistence liquid and vapor densities,and cause the decrease of the relative volatility and the vaporization enthalpy for the systems studied.As the pore width is decreased,the two-phase region of the binary mixture becomes narrower.LI YingFeng YU YangXin ZHENG YuanXiang LI JiDing 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,9:1

13A deep learning model for generating fundus autofluorescence images from color fundus photography显示文摘Background:Fundus Autofluorescence(FAF)is a valuable imaging technique used to assess metabolic alterations in the retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)associated with various age-related and disease-related changes.The practical uses of FAF are ever-growing.This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a generative deep learning(DL)model in translating color fundus(CF)images into synthetic FAF images and explore its potential for enhancing screening of age-related macular degeneration(AMD).Methods:A generative adversarial network(GAN)model was trained on pairs of CF and FAF images to generate synthetic FAF images.The quality of synthesized FAF images was assessed objectively by common generation metrics.Additionally,the clinical effectiveness of the generated FAF images in AMD classification was evaluated by measuring the area under the curve(AUC),using the LabelMe dataset.Results:A total of 8410 FAF images from 2586 patients were analyzed.The synthesized FAF images exhibited an impressive objectively assessed quality,achieving a multi-scale structural similarity index(MS-SSIM)of 0.67.When evaluated on the LabelMe dataset,the combination of generated FAF images and CF images resulted in a noteworthy improvement in AMD classification accuracy,with the AUC increasing from 0.931 to 0.968.Conclusions:This study presents the first attempt to use a generative deep learning model to create authentic and high-quality FAF images from CF images.The incorporation of the translated FAF images on top of CF images improved the accuracy of AMD classification.Overall,this study presents a promising approach to enhance largescale AMD screening.Fan Song Weiyi Zhang Yingfeng Zheng Danli Shi Mingguang He 2023Advances in Ophthalmology Practice and Research2023,3,4:0
14Effect of the Proportion of Bamboo Scraps on the Properties of Bamboo Scraps/Magnesium Oxychloride Composites显示文摘This study was designed to solve the problem of large waste volume from bamboo processing residues in recent years.Using magnesium oxychloride(MO)cementitious material as the main material and bamboo residue(BR)as the reinforcing material,a BR/MO composite material was prepared.The effects of BR amount on the molding properties,mechanical strength,and water resistance of BR/MO composites were examined and discussed.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM),X-ray diffractometry(XRD),and thermogravimetric analysis were used to characterize composite microscopic morphology,crystalline structure,and heat resistance.The results showed that,when the BR content was 1.00%(by wt),the flowability of MO paste was beneficial to composite molding.Composite mechanical properties and water resistance were greatly affected by BR addition.When the BR content was 1.00%,composite compressive and bending strengths and softening coefficient all reached maximum values.Meanwhile,increases in water absorption by 24 h and decreases of contact angle were small.These results suggested that,when the BR content was 1.00%,composite mechanical properties and water resistance were the best and the mechanical strength also improved with extended composite storage time.SEM analysis indicated that BR played the role of a reinforcing phase in MO matrices.However,when the BR content exceeded 1.00%,interfacial bonding between BR and MO became less.XRD analysis showed that,with 1.00%BR content,composites showed more 5-phase crystals with high strength.This further explained the reason why this composite’s mechanical properties were the best and the heat resistance not deteriorated due to BR,which was easily decomposed.Long Zheng Yiqiang Wu Shu Wang Guoan Sheng Baorong Sun Yingfeng Zuo 2021Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,10:0
