1Memory materials and devices:From concept to application显示文摘Memory cells have always been an important element of information technology.With emerging technologies like big data and cloud computing,the scale and complexity of data storage has reached an unprecedented peak with a much higher requirement for memory technology.As is well known,better data storage is mostly achieved by miniaturization.However,as the size of the memory device is reduced,a series of problems,such as drain gate-induced leakage,greatly hinder the performance of memory units.To meet the increasing demands of information technology,novel and high-performance memory is urgently needed.Fortunately,emerging memory technologies are expected to improve memory performance and drive the information revolution.This review will focus on the progress of several emerging memory technologies,including two-dimensional material-based memories,resistance random access memory(RRAM),magnetic random access memory(MRAM),and phasechange random access memory(PCRAM).Advantages,mechanisms,and applications of these diverse memory technologies will be discussed in this review.Zhenhan Zhang Zongwei Wang Tuo Shi Chong Bi Feng Rao Yimao Cai Qi Liu Huaqiang Wu Peng Zhou 2020InfoMat2020,2,2:15
2Rectangle expansion A* pathfinding for grid maps显示文摘Search speed, quality of resulting paths and the cost of pre-processing are the principle evaluation metrics of a pathfinding algorithm. In this paper, a new algorithm for grid-based maps,rectangle expansion A*(REA*), is presented that improves the performance of A*significantly.REA*explores maps in units of unblocked rectangles. All unnecessary points inside the rectangles are pruned and boundaries of the rectangles(instead of individual points within those boundaries)are used as search nodes. This makes the algorithm plot fewer points and have a much shorter open list than A*. REA*returns jump and grid-optimal path points, but since the line of sight between jump points is protected by the unblocked rectangles, the resulting path of REA*is usually better than grid-optimal. The algorithm is entirely online and requires no offline pre-processing. Experimental results for typical benchmark problem sets show that REA*can speed up a highly optimized A*by an order of magnitude and more while preserving completeness and optimality. 4Smoking and Its Relation to Metabolic Status among Chinese Adults: Analysis of a Nationwide Survey显示文摘Objective To update the estimated prevalence rates of smoking and examine major metabolic diseases associated with smoking status in Chinese adults. Methods Using a complex, multistage, probability sampling design, we recruited a nationally representative sample of 98,658 Chinese adults aged ≥18 years in 2010. Information on current, former, never, and passive smoking status was obtained using a standard questionnaire. All estimates were weighted to represent the overall Chinese adult population. Results The estimated proportion of current smokers was 28.3% for Chinese adults aged ≥18 years. The corresponding values of former and passive smokers were 5.1% and 21.4%, respectively. Additionally, former smokers were found to have a less favorable metabolic risk profile among all categories of smoking status in both men and women. The prevalence of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension also increased with a greater number of smoking pack-years in men. 6Self-enhanced targeted delivery of a cell wall– and membrane-active antibiotics,daptomycin, against staphylococcal pneumonia显示文摘Considering that some antibacterial agents can identify the outer structure of pathogens like cell wall and/or cell membrane, we explored a self-enhanced targeted delivery strategy by which a small amount of the antibiotic molecules were modified on the surface of carriers as targeting ligands of certain bacteria while more antibiotic molecules were loaded inside the carriers, and thus has the potential to improve the drug concentration at the infection site, enhance efficacy and reduce potential toxicity. In this study, a novel targeted delivery system against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)pneumonia was constructed with daptomycin, a lipopeptide antibiotic, which can bind to the cell wall of S.aureus via its hydrophobic tail. Daptomycin was conjugated with N-hydroxysuccinimidyl–polyethylene glycol–1,2-distearoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine to synthesize a targeting compound(Dapt–PEG–DSPE) which could be anchored on the surface of liposomes, while additional daptomycin molecules were encapsulated inside the liposomes. These daptomycin-modified, daptomycin-loaded liposomes(DPD-L[D]) showed specific binding to MRSA as detected by flow cytometry and good targeting capabilities in vivo to MRSA-infected lungs in a pneumonia model. DPD-L[D] exhibited more favorable antibacterial efficacy against MRSA than conventional PEGylated liposomal daptomycin both in vitro and in vivo. 9Photonic amorphous topological insulator显示文摘The current understanding of topological insulators and their classical wave analogs,such as photonic topological insulators,is mainly based on topological band theory.However,standard band theory does not apply to amorphous phases of matter,which are formed by non-crystalline lattices with no long-range positional order but only shortrange order,exhibiting unique phenomena such as the glass-to-liquid transition.Here,we experimentally investigate amorphous variants of a Chern number-based photonic topological insulator.By tuning the disorder strength in the lattice,we demonstrate that photonic topological edge states can persist into the amorphous regime prior to the glass-to-liquid transition.After the transition to a liquid-like lattice configuration,the signatures of topological edge states disappear.This interplay between topology and short-range order in amorphous lattices paves the way for new classes of non-crystalline topological photonic bandgap materials.Peiheng Zhou Gui-Geng Liu Xin Ren Yihao Yang Haoran Xue Lei Bi Longjiang Deng Yidong Chong Baile Zhang 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:1

14A large-scale screening of metal-organic frameworks for iodine capture combining molecular simulation and machine learning显示文摘We performed large-scale molecular simulation to screen and identify metal-organic framework materials for gaseous iodine capture,as part of our ongoing effort in addressing management and handling issues of various radionuclides in the grand scheme of spent nuclear fuel reprocessing.Starting from the computation-ready experimental(CoRE)metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)database,grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation was employed to predict the iodine uptake values of the MOFs.A ranking list of MOFs based on their iodine uptake capabilities was generated,with the Top 10 candidates identified and their respective adsorption sites visualized.Subsequently,machine learning was used to establish structure-property relationships to correlate MOFs’various structural and chemical features with their corresponding performances in iodine capture,yielding interpretable common features and design rules for viable MOF adsorbents.The research strategy and framework of the present study could aid the development of high-performing MOF adsorbents for capture and recovery of radioactive iodine,and moreover,other volatile environmentally hazardous species.Min Cheng Zhiyuan Zhang Shihui Wang Kexin Bi Kong-qiu Hu Zhongde Dai Yiyang Dai Chong Liu Li Zhou Xu Ji Wei-qun Shi 2023Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,12:0
