| 3 | Spatial-temporal dynamics of desert vegetation and its responses to climatic variations over the last three decades:a case study of Hexi region in Northwest China显示文摘Analysis of spatial-temporal variations of desert vegetation under the background of climate changes can provide references for ecological restoration in arid and semi-arid areas.In this study,we used the Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies(GIMMS)NDVI data from 1982 to 2006 and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)NDVI data from 2000 to 2013 to reveal the dynamics of desert vegetation in Hexi region of Northwest China over the past three decades.We also used the annual temperature and precipitation data acquired from the Chinese meteorological stations to analyze the response of desert vegetation to climatic variations.The average value of NDVImax(the maximum NDVI during the growing season)for desert vegetation in Hexi region increased at the rate of 0.65×10–3/a(P<0.05)from 1982 to 2013,and the significant increases of NDVImax mainly appeared in the typical desert vegetation areas.Vegetation was significantly improved in the lower reaches of Shule and Shiyang river basins,and the weighted mean center of desert vegetation mainly shifted toward the lower reaches of the two basins.Almost 95.32% of the total desert vegetation area showed positive correlation between NDVImax and annual precipitation,indicating that precipitation is the key factor for desert vegetation growth in the entire study area.Moreover,the areas with non-significant positive correlation between NDVImax and annual precipitation mainly located in the lower reaches of Shiyang and Shule river basins,this may be due to human activities.Only 7.64% of the desert vegetation showed significant positive correlation between NDVImax and annual precipitation in the Shule River Basin(an extremely arid area),indicating that precipitation is not the most important factor for vegetation growth in this basin,and further studies are needed to investigate the mechanism for this phenomenon. | YANG Xuemei LIU Shizeng YANG Taibao XU Xianying KANG Caizhou TANG Jinnian WEI Huaidong Mihretab G GHEBREZGABHER LI Zhiqi | 2016 | Journal of Arid Land2016,8,4: | 10 |
| 4 | Effects of key design parameters of tine furrow opener on soil seedbed properties显示文摘The structural parameters of tine furrow openers have significant effects on soil property of seed furrow in no-till planting,thereby affecting crop growth and yields.In order to analyze the effects of key parameters of tine furrow openers on soil properties(soil bulk density,soil water-stable aggregates(WSA),and soil disturbance)of the surface soil layer of 0-10 cm and surface straw disturbance,the tine furrow openers with different structural parameters,including cutting edge thickness,cutting edge curve,penetration clearance angle and rake angle,were designed and tested under no-till conditions.Orthogonal test and single factor test were performed to analyze the effects of different parameters.Results showed that the rake angle,cutting edge thickness and cutting edge curve had significant effects on cross-sectional area of furrow(Af)and disturbance of surface straw;the rake angle had a significant effect on soil bulk density.Soil types and operating depth had significant effects on soil disturbance caused by tine furrow openers.The concave type tine furrow opener produced the lowest soil disturbance and soil bulk density of seed furrow,the highest surface straw disturbance and the greatest content of WSA(>0.5 mm).With increasing rake angles of tine furrow opener,the width of seedbed(Wsb)and the Af decreased first and then increased,respectively,while the width of soil throw(Wst)and the height of ridge(Hr)increased.The Wsb and Af created by tine furrow opener with 60°rake angle were significantly lower than that with others,respectively.The tine furrow opener with rake angle ranged from 45°to 60°created the lowest soil bulk density.As the penetration clearance angle increased,the content of WSA(>0.5 mm)decreased,but the effect of penetration clearance angle on the content of WSA(<0.5 mm)was not significant.The cutting edge thickness(<2 mm)had no significant effects on soil properties of seedbed.This study could provide a reference for optimal design of the tine furrow opener to create more suitable seedbed environment,and promote the application of the light no-till planters. | Zhang Xiangcai Li Hongwen Du Ruicheng Ma Shaochun He Jin Wang Qingjie Chen Wanzhi Zheng Zhiqi Zhang Zhiqiang | 2016 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,3: | 7 |

| 7 | Synthesis of hexaaluminate catalysts for methane combustion by reverse microemulsion medium显示文摘The aim of this study is to synthesize the catalysts of Fe-and Mn-substituted hexaaluminate by reverse microemulsion medium for methane catalytic combustion application.Pseudo-ternary phase diagrams in quaternary microemulsion systems of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB),n-butanol,n-octane,and water [or Al(NO3)3 solution] were presented.The effects of the alcohol chain length,ratio of sur-factant to cosurfactant,and salt concentration on the formation and stability of microemulsion systems were studied.The phase behavior of microemulsion systems was confirmed through the varying of the conductivity with the water content.The performance and structure of the catalysts,La(Mnx/Fex)Al12-x-O19-δ synthesized with the optimal parameter in the phase diagrams of microemulsions systems were characterized by BET,TG-DTA,and XRD.The micro fix-bed reactor was used to measure the catalytic activities of catalysts to methane combustion.The results showed that this synthesis method could yield non-agglomerated and highly dispersed precursors that would undergo crystallization at the lower temperature of 950℃.When temperature was raised up to 1050℃,the complete crystalline La-hexaaluminate was shaped.The hexaaluminate substituted with Fe had high-catalytic activity and stability at high temperature,while the Mn-substituted had higher catalytic activity at lower temperature.When the cooperation of Fe and Mn occurred,i.e.,LaFeMnAl10O19-δ exhibited a high surface area and catalytic activity to CH4 combustion,the CH4 light-off temperature was only 475℃ and the complete combustion temperature was 660℃.This was attributed to the synergistic effect between Fe and Mn. | BAI ShouLi WANG LiangShi SHI BingJie YANG PengCheng CUI MeiSheng LONG ZhiQi LI DianQing CHEN AiFan | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,1: | 6 |

This is achieved by mounting a two-dimensional shock-shock interaction generator below the lifting surface. The shock-shock interaction theory in conjunction with a three dimensional correction and checked with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is used to analyze the lift and drag forces as function of the geometrical parameters and inflow Mach number. In particular, they have significant role in plant resistance to pathogens by contributing to induction defense genes. Here, whether NO and H2O2 participate in the resistance responses against Verticillium dahliae toxins (VD-toxins) and their effects on the expression of GST gene are studied. The results reveal that NO and H2O2 are produced as part of a complex network of signals that respond to VD-toxins and may converge to function both synergistically and independently by inducing resistant responses. GST gene is potentially involved in the resistance mechanism in the cotton suspension cells. NO induces the expression of GST gene independently of H2O2. | 17 | Inducible Positive Mutant Screening System to Unveil the Signaling Pathway of Late Blight Resistance显示文摘Late blight is the most devastating potato disease and it also causes serious yield loss in tomato.Several disease resistance genes (R genes) to late blight have been cloned from potato in the past decade.However,the resistance mechanisms remain elusive.Tomato and potato belong to the botanical family Solanaceace and share remarkably conserved genome structure.Since tomato is a model system in genetic and plant pathology research,we used tomato to develop a powerful mutant screening system that will greatly facilitate the analysis of the signaling pathway of resistance to Phytophthora infestans.First we proved that the R3a transgenic tomatoes developed specific hypersensitive cell death response (HR) to P.infestans strains carrying the corresponding avirulence gene Avr3a,indicating that the signaling pathway from the R3a-Avr3a recognition to HR is conserved between potato and tomato.Second,we generated transgenic tomatoes carrying both R3a and Avr3a genes,with the latter under the control of a glucocorticiod-inducible promoter.Dexamethasone induced expression of Avr3a and resulted in localized HR.This versatile system can be used to construct a mutant library to screen surviving mutants whose resistance signal transduction was interrupted,providing the basis to identify key genes involved in the resistance to late blight in Solanaceae. | Zhiqi Jia Yanhonq Cui Ying Li Xiaoxuan Wang Yonqchen Du Sanwen Huang | 2010 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2010,52,5: | 3 |

| 20 | Effect of diacylglycerol acyltransferase 2overexpression in 3T3-L1 is associated to an increase in mono-unsaturated fatty acid accumulation显示文摘Background:Fatty acid(FA) composition is the most important parameter affecting the flavor and nutritional value of the meat.The final and the only committed step in the biosynthesis of triglycerides is catalyzed by diacylglycerol acyltransferase 2(DGAT2).The role of DGAT2 in lipid accumulation has been demonstrated in adipocytes,However,little is known about the effect of DGAT2 on the FA composition of these cells.Methods:To investigate the role of DGAT2 in regulating lipid accumulation,FA composition and the expression of adipogenic genes,we cloned the open reading frame of the porcine DGAT2 gene and established 3T3-L1 cells that overexpressed DGAT2.Cells were then cultured in differentiation medium(DM) without FA,with a mixture of FAs(FA-DM),or containing a ^(13)C stable isotope-labeled FA mixture(IFA-DM).The FA composition of adipocytes was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and gas chromatography-isotope ratio mass spectrometry.Quantitative PCR and western blotting were employed to detect expression of adipogenic genes in 3T3-L1 adipocytes cultured with FA-DM for 12 d.Results:The triacylglyceride(TAG) content was significantly higher in 3T3-L1 adipocytes overexpressing DGAT2 than in control cells.When cultured in DM or FA-DM for 12 d,cells overexpressing DGAT2 showed a higher proportion of unsaturated FAs(C16:1 and C18:1).However,when cells overexpressing DGAT2 were cultured with FA-DM for30 min,the FA composition was almost identical to that of controls.Further,the proportion of stable isotope-labeled FAs were similar in 3T3-L1 adipocytes overexpressing DGAT2 and control cells cultured in IFA-DM for 12 d.These results collectively indicate that the higher proportion of mono-unsaturated FAs,C16:1 and C18:1,may originate from de novo FA synthesis but not from the uptake of specific FAs from the medium.This hypothesis is further supported by evidence that both mRNA and protein expression of genes involved in FA synthesis(ACACA,FASN,SCD1,and A-FABP)were significantly higher in cells overexpressing DGAT2 than in control cells.Conclusions:In conclusion,our study revealed that TAG accumulation,the proportion of MUFAs,and the expression of adipogenic genes were higher in 3T3-L1 cells overexpressing DGAT2 than in control cells. | Zhiqi Zhang Gang Shu Xiaotong Zhu Junming Guo Han Cai Songbo Wang Lina Wang Ping Gao Qianyun Xi Yongliang Zhang Li Yuan Qingyan Jiang | 2014 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2014,5,4: | 3 |
