1KD-S SiC_f/SiC composites with BN interface fabricated by polymer infiltration and pyrolysis process显示文摘Continuous silicon carbide fiber reinforced silicon carbide matrix(SiC_f/SiC) composites are attractive candidate materials for aerospace engine system and nuclear reactor system. In this paper, SiC_f/SiC composites were fabricated by polymer infiltration and pyrolysis(PIP) process using KD-S fiber as the reinforcement and the LPVCS as the precursor, while the BN interface layer was introduced by chemical vapor deposition(CVD) process using borazine as the single precursor. The effect of the BN interface layer on the structure and properties of the SiC_f/SiC composites was comprehensively investigated. The results showed that the BN interface layer significantly improved the mechanical properties of the KD-S SiC_f/SiC composites. The flexure strength and fracture toughness of the KD-S SiC_f/SiC composites were evidently improved from 314±44.8 to 818±39.6 MPa and 8.6± 0.5 to 23.0±2.2 MPa·m^(1/2), respectively. The observation of TEM analysis displayed a turbostratic structure of the CVD-BN interface layer that facilitated the improvement of the fracture toughness of the SiC_f/SiC composites. 2Room-temperature continuous-wave electrically pumped InGaN/GaN quantum well blue laser diode directly grown on Si显示文摘Current laser-based display and lighting applications are invariably using blue laser diodes(LDs)grown on freestanding GaN substrates,which are costly and smaller in size compared with other substrate materials.1–3 Utilizing less expensive and large-diameter Si substrates for hetero-epitaxial growth of indium gallium nitride/gallium nitride(InGaN/GaN)multiple quantum well(MQW)structure can substantially reduce the cost of blue LDs and boost their applications.To obtain a high crystalline quality crack-free GaN thin film on Si for the subsequent growth of a blue laser structure,a hand-shaking structure was formed by inserting Al-composition step down-graded AlN/AlxGa1−xN buffer layers between GaN and Si substrate.Thermal degradation in InGaN/GaN blue MQWs was successfully suppressed with indium-rich clusters eliminated by introducing hydrogen during the growth of GaN quantum barriers(QBs)and lowering the growth temperature for the p-type AlGaN/GaN superlattice optical cladding layer.A continuous-wave(CW)electrically pumped InGaN/GaN quantum well(QW)blue(450 nm)LD grown on Si was successfully demonstrated at room temperature(RT)with a threshold current density of 7.8 kA/cm^(2).Yi Sun Kun Zhou Meixin Feng Zengcheng Li Yu Zhou Qian Sun Jianping Liu Liqun Zhang Deyao Li Xiaojuan Sun Dabing Li Shuming Zhang Masao Ikeda Hui Yang 2018Light(Science & Applications)2018,7,1:5
3Flexible high energy density zinc-ion batteries enabled by binder-free MnO_(2)/reduced graphene oxide electrode显示文摘We demonstrate a rechargeable zinc-ion battery with high energy density and cyclability using MnO_(2)and reduced graphene oxide(MnO_(2)/rGO)electrode.The flexible and binder free electrode,with high MnO_(2)mass ratio(80 wt%of MnO_(2)),is fabricated using vacuum filtration without any additional additives other than rGO.Compared to batteries with conventional MnO_(2)electrodes,the Zn-MnO_(2)/rGO battery shows a significant enhanced capacity(332.2 mAh g^(-1)at 0.3 A g^(-1)),improved rate capability(172.3 mAh g^(-1)at 6 A g^(-1))and cyclability.The capacity retention remains 96%after 500 charge/discharge cycles at 6 A g^(-1).The high MnO_(2)mass ratio makes MnO_(2)/rGO electrode advantageous when the capacity is normalized to the whole electrode,particularly at high rates.The calculated gravimetric energy density of Zn-MnO_(2)/rGO battery is 33.17Wh kg^(-1),which is comparable to the existing commercial lead-acid batteries(30-40Wh kg^(-1)).Furthermore,the discharge profile and capacity of our Zn-MnO_(2)/rGO battery shows no deterioration during bending test,indicating good flexibility.As a result,zinc-ion battery is believed to be a promising technology for powering next generation flexible electronics.Yuan Huang Jiuwei Liu Qiyao Huang Zijian Zheng Pritesh Hiralal Fulin Zheng Dilek Ozgit Sikai Su Shuming Chen Ping-Heng Tan Shengdong Zhang Hang Zhou 2018npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1:4
4Fabric changes induced by super-absorbent polymer on cementelime stabilized excavated clayey soil显示文摘This paper studies the microstructure variation induced by super-absorbent polymer(SAP)to understand the mechanism of macroscopic strength improvement of stabilized soil.The fabric changes of cement elime stabilized soil were analyzed with respect to the variation of SAP content,water content,lime content and curing time,using mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP)tests.It can be observed that the delimitation pore diameter between inter-and intra-aggregate pores was 0.2 mm for the studied soil,determined through the intrusion/extrusion cycles.Experimental results showed that fabric in both inter-and intra-aggregate pores varied significantly with SAP content,lime content,water content and curing time.Two main changes in fabric due to SAP are identified as:(1)an increase in intra-aggregate pores(<0.2 mm)due to the closer soilecementelime cluster space at higher SAP content;and(2)a decrease in inter-aggregate pores represented by a reduction in small-pores(0.2e2 mm)due to the lower pore volume of soil mixture after water absorption by SAP,and a slight increase in large-pores(>2 mm)due to the shrinkage of SAP particle during the freezeedry process of MIP test.Accordingly,the strength gain due to SAP for cementelime stabilized soil was mainly due to a denser fabric with less interaggregate pores.The cementitious products gradually developed over time,leading to an increase in intra-aggregate pores with an increasing proportion of micro-pores(0.006e0.2 mm).Meanwhile,the inter-aggregate pores were filled by cementitious products,resulting in a decrease in total void ratio.Hence,the strength development over time is attributable to the enhancement of cementation bonding and the refinement of fabric due to the increasing cementitious compounds.Xia Bian Lingling Zeng Xiaozhao Li Xiusong Shi Shuming Zhou Fuqing Li 2021Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,5:3
5Effect of inhomogeneous broadening on threshold current of GaN-based green laser diodes显示文摘The inhomogeneous broadening parameter and the internal loss of green LDs are determined by experiments and theoretical fitting. It is found that the inhomogeneous broadening plays an important role on the threshold current density of green LDs. The green LD with large inhomogeneous broadening even cannot lase. 8Compositional dependence of hydrogenation performance of Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb high-entropy alloys for hydrogen/tritium storage显示文摘A series of Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb high-entropy alloys with different Mo concentrations were developed as candidate materials for hydrogen/tritium storage in solid phase.The crystal structures and hydrogenation properties of the Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb alloys were investigated by X-ray diffraction and differential scanning calorimetry techniques.All the alloys have a body-centred cubic single phase structure.The results demonstrate that the cell volume of the Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb hydride decreases with increasing Mo concentration,which reduces their thermal stability.The theoretical calculation proposes that the lower binding energy of the Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb hydride decreases the thermal stability of Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb alloys with higher Mo content.The great hydrogenation performance for all the Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb alloys is owing to their reversible single-phase transformation during the hydrogen absorption-desorption cycle,which would be bene ficial to improving the hydrogen recycling rate and preventing the disproportionation.The compositional dependence of the hydrogenation performance of the Ti-Zr-Hf-Mo-Nb alloys was established and will be useful in designing novel hydrogen/tritium storage materials to satisfy the requirements of diffe rent application fields in hydrogen,solar thermal and nuclear energy.Huahai Shen Jutao Hu Pengcheng Li Gang Huang Jianwei Zhang Jinchao Zhang Yiwu Mao Haiyan Xiao Xiaosong Zhou Xiaotao Zu Xinggui Long Shuming Peng 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,20:2
9Crystallization Behavior of Nd_2O_3 Doped Na_2O–CaO–SiO_2 Laser Glass-ceramics显示文摘For the desirable laser optical property, transition metals or rare-earths are always doped into parent glasses as active ions, and this doping will affect the crystallization of the precursor glasses inevitably.In this work, crystallization behavior of Na O–Ca O–Si O2 system glasses doped with Nd2O3 was investigated. The crystallization kinetic parameters including the crystallization apparent activation energy(E)and the Avrami parameter(n) were also measured. The results show that the Na O–Ca O–Si O2 system glassceramics with the Na2Ca2Si3O9 crystal as primary phase can be highly crystalized as above 90%. 10Al-free cladding-layer blue laser diodes with a low aspect ratio in far-field beam pattern显示文摘c-plane GaN-based blue laser diodes(LDs) were fabricated with Al-free cladding layers(CLs) and deepened etching depth of mesa structure, so the aspect ratio of the far-field pattern(FFP) of the laser beam can be reduced to as low as 1.7, which is nearly the same as conventional AlGa In P-based red LDs. By using GaN CLs,the radiation angle of the laser beam θ⊥ is only 10.1° in the direction perpendicular to the junction plane. After forming a deeply etched mesa, the beam divergence angle parallel to the junction plane of FFP, θ_(//), increases from4.9° to 5.8°. After using the modified structure, the operation voltage of LD is effectively reduced by 2 V at an injection current of 50 mA, but the threshold current value increases. 13Non-destructive thermal ageing evaluation of P(VDF-HFP)film based on broadband dielectric response显示文摘Capacitors and sensors based on polymer dielectric materials are key components in electrical systems and electronic devices.Considering the temperature rise during operation,an effective evaluation method for the thermal ageing of polymer matrix is urgently needed.P(VDF-HFP)film with a thickness of 20μm is manufactured by solution casting and a thermal ageing experiment up to 1000 h is conducted.Dielectric responses of wide ranges of temperatures and frequencies are measured for samples with different ageing durations.The universal relaxation law and Dissado–Hill dielectric response model are applied to further investigate the results.The characteristics of individual processes are obtained,which demonstrate that the main chain relaxation following the Vogel−Fulcher−Tammann equation and side chain relaxation following the Arrhenius equation both remain unchanged after thermal ageing.However,the activation energies of those two processes change significantly during the process and show different variation trends.The activation energy of the side chain relaxation gets larger monotonically due to the influence of annealing and the breaking of crystalline region.As a result,a non-destructive evaluation method for the thermal ageing of P(VDF-HFP)is proposed accordingly.Qian Wang Chao Wu Yanfeng Gao Shuming Liu Shuqi Liu Zhou Zuo Xidong Liang 2022High Voltage2022,7,6:1

18A de novo missense mutation in MPP2 confers an increased risk of Vogt–Koyanagi–Harada disease as shown by trio-based whole-exome sequencing显示文摘Vogt–Koyanagi–Harada(VKH)disease is a leading cause of blindness in young and middle-aged people.However,the etiology of VKH disease remains unclear.Here,we performed the first trio-based whole-exome sequencing study,which enrolled 25 VKH patients and 50 controls,followed by a study of 2081 VKH patients from a Han Chinese population to uncover detrimental mutations.A total of 15 de novo mutations in VKH patients were identified,with one of the most important being the membrane palmitoylated protein 2(MPP2)p.K315N(MPP2-N315)mutation.The MPP2-N315 mutation was highly deleterious according to bioinformatic predictions.Additionally,this mutation appears rare,being absent from the 1000 Genome Project and Genome Aggregation Database,and it is highly conserved in 10 species,including humans and mice.Subsequent studies showed that pathological phenotypes and retinal vascular leakage were aggravated in MPP2-N315 mutation knock-in or MPP2-N315 adeno-associated virus-treated mice with experimental autoimmune uveitis(EAU).In vitro,we used clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR‒Cas9)gene editing technology to delete intrinsic MPP2 before overexpressing wild-type MPP2 or MPP2-N315.Levels of cytokines,such as IL-1β,IL-17E,and vascular endothelial growth factor A,were increased,and barrier function was destroyed in the MPP2-N315 mutant ARPE19 cells.Mechanistically,the MPP2-N315 mutation had a stronger ability to directly bind to ANXA2 than MPP2-K315,as shown by LC‒MS/MS and Co-IP,and resulted in activation of the ERK3/IL-17E pathway.Overall,our results demonstrated that the MPP2-K315N mutation may increase susceptibility to VKH disease.Xianyang Liu Jiayu Meng Xingyun Liao Yusen Liu Qian Zhou Zongren Xu Shuming Yin Qingfeng Cao Guannan Su Siyuan He Wanqian Li Xiaotang Wang Guoqing Wang Dali Li Peizeng Yang Shengping Hou 2023Cellular & Molecular Immunology2023,20,11:0

20Synthesis, crystal structure and properties of binuclear manganese complex [(bipy)_2Mn_2(/J-O)(/i-Ac)_2(H_2O)_2](ClO_4)_2显示文摘Binuclear manganese complex [(bipy)2Mn2(μ-O)(μ-Ac)2(H2O)2](CIO4)2 was synthesized by the reaction of MnAc3 · 2H2O with 2,2’-bipyridine in the HAc-NaAc buffer (pH = 4.0). X-ray diffraction result for the single crystal shows that the crystal is monoclinic, space group C2/C, with a = 3.4082(7), 6 = 0.8644(2), c= 2.174 9(4) nm,β= 105.2°, V =6.186(2) nm3, Z= 8. There are two very strong peaks of UV-Vis spectrum in the range of 400-600 nm, which are similar to those of Mn catalase and Mn ribonuleotide reductase extracted from organisms.
