1Antimicrobial activities of essential oil from Artemisiae argyi leaves显示文摘A study was conducted to determine the antimicrobial activities of essential oil from Artemisiae argyi leaves. The sample of the essential oil was analyzed by GC–MS. From 18 compounds representing the oils, Eucalyptole (18.42%), Spathulenol (14.32), 4-Methyl-1-(1-methylethyl)-3-cyclohexen-1-ol (3.10%), 3-Carene (2.64%) appeared as the main components. The screening of antimicrobial activity of the essential oil was evaluated using agar diffusion and broth microdilution methods. Gram-positive bacterial were more sensitive than gram-negative bacterial of the 8 microorganisms, and Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 showed the lowest MIC (0.3125%) and MBC (0.625%). In the disc diffusion assay, Staphylococcus epidermidis ATCC 49134 and Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633 showed obvious inhibitory activity. Survival curve showed that, 2MIC of Artemisiae argyi essential oil had a lethal effect on Candida albicans within the first 1 h. 3Direct observation of ultrafast plasmonic hot electron transfer in the strong coupling regime显示文摘Achieving strong coupling between plasmonic oscillators can significantly modulate their intrinsic optical properties.Here,we report the direct observation of ultrafast plasmonic hot electron transfer from an Au grating array to an MoS_(2) monolayer in the strong coupling regime between localized surface plasmons(LSPs)and surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs).By means of femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy,the measured hot electron transfer time is approximately 40 fs with a maximum external quantum yield of 1.65%.Our results suggest that strong coupling between LSPs and SPPs has synergetic effects on the generation of plasmonic hot carriers,where SPPs with a unique nonradiative feature can act as an‘energy recycle bin’to reuse the radiative energy of LSPs and contribute to hot carrier generation.Coherent energy exchange between plasmonic modes in the strong coupling regime can further enhance the vertical electric field and promote the transfer of hot electrons between the Au grating and the MoS_(2) monolayer.Our proposed plasmonic strong coupling configuration overcomes the challenge associated with utilizing hot carriers and is instructive in terms of improving the performance of plasmonic opto-electronic devices.Hangyong Shan Ying Yu Xingli Wang Yang Luo Shuai Zu Bowen Du Tianyang Han Bowen Li Yu Li Jiarui Wu Feng Lin Kebin Shi Beng Kang Tay Zheng Liu Xing Zhu Zheyu Fang 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:7
4Intercropping of Sonchus asper and Vicia faba affects plant cadmium accumulation and root responses显示文摘The cadmium(Cd)pollution of farmland soil is serious in the world.The present study investigated the effects of intercropping Vicia faba and the hyperaccumulator Sonchus asper on the Cd accumulation and root responses(morphology and secreted organic acids)of plants grown on soil from a mining area in Yunnan Province,China,under different Cd stress levels(0,50,100,and 200 mg kg-1).Intercropping increased the biomass of both S.asper and V.faba,as well as the Cd accumulation and Cd transfer coefficient from roots to shoots of S.asper,but decreased those of V.faba in the 200 mg kg-1Cd treatment.The Cd concentrations in roots,shoots,and grains from intercropped V.faba plants were positively correlated(P<0.05)with the N,N-diethyl phenylacetamide-extractable Cd content in soil.In the 50 mg kg-1Cd treatment,intercropping decreased citric and malic acids in root secretions of S.asper.Intercropped V.faba secreted more citric,oxalic,acetic,and malic acid compared with S.asper.Intercropping also increased root length and root surface area of both S.asper and V.faba.At 50 mg kg-1Cd,root length for S.asper was higher than that at 0 mg kg-1Cd,whereas V.faba roots had significantly decreased length and mean diameter.Intercropping of S.asper and V.faba is suggested as an in situ phytoremediation strategy of Cd-contaminated soils and may improve the food quality of V.faba.Yanqun ZU Li QIN Fangdong ZHAN Jiong WU Yuan LI Jianjun CHEN Jixiu WANG Wenyou HU 2020Pedosphere2020,30,4:6
5Room-temperature production of silver-nanofiber film for large-area, transparent and flexible surface electromagnetic interference shielding显示文摘A kind of pollution known as electromagnetic interference(EMI),which results from ubiquitous usage of various electronic communication and military radar equipment,has been receiving increasing attention recently.However,large-area EMI shielding on transparent and/or curved surfaces,including building windows,curved glass wall,and special requirements spaces(SRSs),remains hard to achieve.In this paper,a silver nanofiber(AgNF)based flexible and transparent EMI shielding film was successfully assembled via a room-temperature roll-to-roll production method.For transparent application scenario,AgNF with 89%transmittance in visible range and 1μm thickness shows~20 dB shielding efficiency(EMI SE).On the other hand,total shielding(>50 dB)is obtained when the thickness of AgNF increases to 10μm,while its transmittance in visible range remains higher than 75%.Considering the facile and scale-free production technology,this material can be readily applied in large-scale,transparent,and/or SRSs EMI shielding.Sen Lin Haiyang Wang Fan Wu Qingmin Wang Xiaopeng Bai Di Zu Jianan Song Dong Wang Zhenglian Liu Ziwei Li Nian Tao Kai Huang Ming Lei Bo Li Hui Wu 2019npj Flexible Electronics2019,3,1:4
6Occurrence conditions of positive cloud-to-ground flashes in severe thunderstorms显示文摘The purpose of this study was to understand the reasons why frequent positive cloud-to-ground(+CG) flashes occur in severe thunderstorms. A three-dimensional dynamics-electrification coupled model was used to simulate a severe thunderstorm to permit analysis of the conditions that might easily cause +CG flashes. The results showed that strong updrafts play an important role in the occurrence of intracloud flashes. However, frequent +CG flashes require not only strong updrafts but also strong downdrafts in the lower cloud region, conditions that correspond to the later phase of the mature stage and the period of the heaviest solid precipitation of a thunderstorm. During this stage, strong updrafts elevated each charge area in the updraft region to a higher level, which resulted in an inverted tripole charge structure. A wide mid-level region of strong positive charge caused largely by positively charged graupel, presented in the middle of the updraft region because of a non-inductive ice-ice collisional charging mechanism. The charge structure in the downdraft region was consistently more complex and revealed several vertically stacked charge regions, alternating in polarity. Much of the graupel/hail outside the updrafts was lowered to cloud-base by strong downdrafts. In this area, the graupel/hail was charged negatively because of the transportation of negatively charged graupel/hail from higher regions of negative charge in the updrafts, and via the inductive charging mechanism of collisions between graupel/hail and cloud droplets at the bottom of the cloud. Consequently, a large region of negative charge formed near the ground. This meant that +CG flashes were initiated more easily in the lower inverted dipole, i.e., the middle region of positive charge and lower region of negative charge. Frequent +CG flashes began almost synchronously with dramatic increases in the storm updrafts, hail volume, and total flash rate. 7Synergetic Effects of UV/Fe^(3+) Combined with Electrocatalysis for p-Nitrophenol Degradation显示文摘Synergetic effects for p-nitrophenol degradation were observed in the combination of two-advanced oxidation processes, UV/Fe3+ and electrocatalysis. The enhancement of removal rate for p-nitrophenol and COD was around 123% and 278%, respectively. 8A Study on Side Reactions of Hydroxyethylation of 3-Nitro-4- chlorobenzenesulfinic Acid with Ethylene Oxide显示文摘The reaction of 3-nitro-4-chlorobenzenesulfinic acid and ethylene oxide to obtain 2-nitro-4-(β-hydroxyethylsulfonyl)chlorobenzene had been studied. Except hydroxyethylation on the sulfur atom of 3-nitro-4-chlorobenzenesulfinic acid to form the target product, 2-nitro-4-(β- hydroxyethylsulfonyl)chlorobenzene, there presented three kinds of side reactions: 1. Condensa- tion and elimination of HCl to form biphenyl sulfone derivatives; 2. Addition to give bisulfonyl ethane derivative via vinyl sulfone; and 3. 19Effect of Mono-2-ethyhexyl Phthalate on DNA Methylation in Human Prostate Cancer LNCaP Cells显示文摘Objective To evaluate whether mono(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate(MEHP) affects genomic DNA methylation and the methylation status of some specific genes such as patched gene(PTCH) and smoothened gene(SMO) in LNCaP cells. Methods LNCaP cells were treated with MEHP(0, 1, 5, 10, and 25 μmol/L) for 3 days. An ELISA assay was preformed to detect genomic methylation, including 5‐methylcytosine(5‐mC) and 5‐hydroxymethylcytosine(5‐hmC) content. A pyrosequencing assay was applied to assess DNA methylation in PTCH and SMO gene promoters. The correlation between DNA methylation and gene expression was assessed. Results The proportion of cytosines with 5‐mC methylation in LNCaP cells was significantly decreased by MEHP(1, 5, 10, and 25 μmol/L) in a dose‐dependent manner(P < 0.01). For genes in the Hedgehog pathway, there was no significant MEHP concentration‐dependent difference in the DNA methylation of PTCH and SMO. 20Industrial-current-density CO_(2)-to-formate conversion with low overpotentials enabled by disorder-engineered metal sites显示文摘CO_(2)electroreduction to formate is technically feasible and economically viable,but still suffers from low selectivity and high overpotential at industrial current densities.Here,lattice-distorted metallic nanosheets with disorder-engineered metal sites are designed for industrial-current-density CO_(2)-to-formate conversion at low overpotentials.As a prototype,richly lattice-distorted bismuth nanosheets are first constructed,where abundant disorder-engineered Bi sites could be observed by high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy image.In-situ Fourier-transform infrared spectra reveal the CO_(2)•−*group is the key intermediate,while theoretical calculations suggest the electron-enriched Bi sites could effectively lower the CO_(2)activation energy barrier by stabilizing the CO_(2)•−*intermediate,further affirmed by the decreased formation energy from 0.49 to 0.39 eV.As a result,the richly lattice-distorted Bi nanosheets exhibit the ultrahigh current density of 800 mA·cm^(−2)with 91%Faradaic efficiencies for CO_(2)-to-formate electroreduction,and the formate selectivity can reach nearly 100%at the current density of 200 mA·cm^(−2)with a very low overpotential of ca.570 mV,outperforming most reported metal-based electrocatalysts.Zhiqiang Wang Xiaolong Zu Xiaodong Li Li Li Yang Wu Shumin Wang Peiquan Ling Yuan Zhao Yongfu Sun Yi Xie 2022Nano Research2022,15,8:0
