1A comparative study of natural and experimental nano-sized grinding grain textures in rocks显示文摘In three shallow-level fault systems in eastern China, nano-sized (30―100 nm) grinding grain textures are found in the thin-shelled rheological layer representing frictional-viscous high strain field. The surface layer near slipping plane is composed of stacks of grinding grains with high sphericity and uniform nano-sized diameter, while the underlying layer appears as a mixture of irregular ones with diverse diameters. Rock deformation experiments indicate that the grinding grain texture is a common phenomenon in shearing fractures, suggesting a potential transition from sliding friction to rolling one during the rock deformation process. 2Influence of climate warming and nitrogen deposition on soil phosphorus composition and phosphorus availability in a temperate grassland,China显示文摘Climate warming and nitrogen(N)deposition change ecosystem processes,structure,and functioning whereas the phosphorus(P)composition and availability directly influence the ecosystem structure under conditions of N deposition.In our study,four treatments were designed,including a control,diurnal warming(DW),N deposition(ND),and combined warming and N deposition(WN).The effects of DW,ND,and WN on P composition were studied by31P nuclear magnetic resonance(31P NMR)spectroscopy in a temperate grassland region of China.The results showed that the N deposition decreased the soil pH and total N(TN)concentration but increased the soil Olsen-P concentration.The solution-state31P NMR analysis showed that the DW,ND and WN treatments slightly decreased the proportion of orthophosphate and increased that of the monoesters.An absence of myo-inositol phosphate in the DW,ND and WN treatments was observed compared with the control.Furthermore,the DW,ND and WN treatments significantly decreased the recovery of soil P in the NaOH–EDTA solution by17%–20%.The principal component analysis found that the soil pH was positively correlated with the P recovery in the NaOH–EDTA solution.Therefore,the decreased soil P recovery in the DW and ND treatments might be caused by an indirect influence on the soil pH.Additionally,the soil moisture content was the key factor limiting the available P.The positive correlation of total carbon(TC)and TN with the soil P composition indicated the influence of climate warming and N deposition on the biological processes in the soil P cycling.GuangNa ZHANG ZhenHua CHEN AiMing ZHANG LiJun CHEN ZhiJie WU 2014Journal of Arid Land2014,6,2:11
3Recent progress in studies layer in rock on the nano-sized particle shear planes显示文摘Since the 1990s, an ultramicro-particle texture in nano- or micron-sized scale has been continually found in shear planes of various rocks, and recently further progress was made in generic physical mechanisms. In this article, the characteristics of the nano-sized particle layer in rock shear planes (including widespread distribution, layering texture, non-linear genetic mechanism, and multiple functions) on an ultra micro-scale were briefly introduced and more information was obtained by analyzing cases from home and abroad. Our findings suggest that (1) there is a paragenetic relationship between the development of shear frictional- viscous and the formation of nano-sized particles, and (2) in the shear movement, partitioning, segregating, and layering in rocks are initiated by the sliding motion of the nano-sized particle layer. 5Nano-texture of penetrative foliation in metamorphic rocks显示文摘By observing four samples obtained from Jiangxi Province, China, under the scanning electron mi-croscope (SEM), we discovered that nano-particle layers were commonly formed on sliding planes of the penetrative foliation in metamorphic rocks. We also successfully reproduced this phenomenon with a tri-axial pressure experiment. Having gone through the granulitization-alienation-partition in the shear sliding process, the nano-particles (40-95 nm in diameter) display different individual shapes and dis-tinct layered textures. This nano-confinement layer is essentially a frictional-viscous stripe with vis-cous-elastic deformation. In the micro-domain stripe, activities in structural stress field-rheological physical field-geochemical field are very dynamic, corresponding to the three stages (i.e., shear sliding strengthening-weakening-exfoliating) of the foliation development in metamorphism rocks. 6A flexible skin-mounted wireless acoustic device for bowel sounds monitoring and evaluation显示文摘Conventional methods of intestinal inspection play an essential role in the assessment of bowel diseases and other relevant health issues, yet fail to obtain intestinal conditions in real time because of radiation limits and operation inconvenience. Herein, a flexible, skin-mounted device is developed for longterm, real-time monitoring, and for the evaluation of bowel sounds based on the integration of a threedimensional printed elastomeric resonator with flexible electronics. The device is capable of being flexibly attached to abdominal surfaces without performance degradation during breathing. Clinical tests conduct in a normal volunteer and in patients with mechanical intestinal obstruction or paralytic ileus illustrate the usefulness of the device in capturing the characteristics of bowel sounds. 7Endoscopic characteristics in predicting prognosis of biopsy-diagnosed gastric low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia显示文摘Background: Endoscopic biopsy can underestimate gastric malignancies as low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LGIN). Definitively diagnosed LGIN would progress. This study aimed to evaluate predictive factors to identify malignancies misdiagnosed as LGIN by biopsy and LGIN at high risk of progression.Methods: The clinical records of patients diagnosed with gastric LGIN by endoscopic biopsy who underwent at least two endoscopies during the first year of follow-up between 2007 and 2017 were retrospectively collected. Three endoscopists reviewed photographs of the initial endoscopy, described lesion characteristics, and made endoscopic diagnoses. Logistic regression was used to analyze predictors to identify malignancies underestimated as LGIN. A receiver operating characteristic curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of these predictors. Patient clinical outcomes of follow-up >1 year were collected. Kaplan-Meier estimates with log-rank tests and Cox proportional hazards regression were used to analyze predictors of progression.Results: Overall, 48 of 182 (26.4%) patients were proven to have malignancies. A single lesion, a large lesion size, and marked intestinal metaplasia (IM) were independent predictors of initially misdiagnosed malignancies. The area under the curve of these predictors was 0.871, with a sensitivity of 68.7% and specificity of 92.5%. Twelve of 98 patients (12.2%) progressed during the 33-month median follow-up period. A whitish appearance, irregular margins, marked IM, and histological diagnosis of LGIN more than twice within the first year were predictors for progression.Conclusions: Lesions diagnosed as LGIN by biopsy with marked IM and other predictors above should be prudently treated for high potential to be malignancies or progress. 8Li2FeSiO4/C hollow nanospheres as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries显示文摘Undoubtedly, it is imperative to figure out two stubborn issues concerning low electronic conductivity and sluggish lithium ion diffusion to promote the practical application of Li2FeSiO4 materials in lithium-ion battery (LIB) cathode. Herein, we report an innovative and simple strategy that combines a hydrothermal process with subsequent annealing to synthesize highly uniform Li2FeSiO/C hollow nanospheres. During the hydrothermal process, polystyrenen anospheres are employed not only as the template but also, more tactfully, as carb on source to form amorphous carbon layers, which will function to enhance the electronic conductivity and restrict particle aggregations. The use of the LIB Li2FeSiO4/C hollow nano spheres as a LIB cathode delivers a desired stable capacity at each rate stage, and eve n at a high rate of 10 C, the hollow nano sphere cathode can prese nt a specific discharge capacity as high as 50.5 mAh·g^-1. After 100 cycles, the capacity rete ntions at 1 and 10 C remain as high as 93% and 72%, respectively. 10Loss of Lkb1 impairs Treg function and stability to aggravate graft-versus-host disease after bone marrow transplantation显示文摘Accumulating evidence suggests that a reduction in the number of Foxp3^(+) regulatory T cells(Tregs)contributes to the pathogenesis of acute graft-versus-host disease(aGVHD),which is a major adverse complication that can occur after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT).However,the precise features and mechanism underlying the defects in Tregs remain largely unknown.In this study,we demonstrated that Tregs were more dramatically decreased in bone marrow compared with those in peripheral blood from aGVHD patients and that bone marrow Treg defects were negatively associated with hematopoietic reconstitution.Tregs from aGVHD patients exhibited multiple defects,including the instability of Foxp3 expression,especially in response to IL-12,impaired suppressor function,decreased migratory capacity,and increased apoptosis.Transcriptional profiling revealed the downregulation of Lkb1,a previously identified critical regulator of murine Treg identity and metabolism,and murine Lkb1-regulated genes in Tregs from aGVHD patients.Foxp3 expression in human Tregs could be decreased and increased by the knockdown and overexpression of the Lkb1 gene,respectively.Furthermore,a loss-of-function assay in an aGVHD murine model confirmed that Lkb1 deficiency could impair Tregs and aggravate disease severity.These findings reveal that Lkb1 downregulation contributes to multiple defects in Tregs in human aGVHD and highlight the Lkb1-related pathways that could serve as therapeutic targets that may potentially be manipulated to mitigate aGVHD.Xiuhua Su Qianqian Wang Wei Guo Xiaolei Pei Qing Niu Maolan Liu Yuanyuan Liu Song Chen Sizhou Feng Yi He Donglin Yang Rongli Zhang Qiaoling Ma Weihua Zhai Aiming Pang Jialin Wei Yong Huang Yuechen Luo Mingzhe Han Xiaoming Feng Erlie Jiang 2020Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,5:3
11Dynamic Tensile Property of Zr-based Metallic Glass/Porous W Phase Composite显示文摘The dynamic tensile deformation and fracture behavior of the Zr-based metallic glass/porous W phase composite were investigated at room temperature by means of the Split Hopkinson Tension Bar (SHTB).It was found that the composite exhibited no appreciable macroscopic plastic deformation prior to catastrophic fracture and the fracture surface was perpendicular to the axial direction.Substantive micro cracks were observed along the interface between W grains or the interface between the metallic glass phase and the W phase.Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations revealed that vein-like patterns,dimple-like patterns and substantive ridge-like structures were the typical fracture morphologies on the fracture surface for the metallic glass phase and the morphology of the W phase is a mixture of intergranular and transgranular fracture.Based on those results referred above,the dynamic tensile deformation and fracture mechanism of the Zr-based metallic glass/porous W phase composite were discussed in detail.Yunfei Xue Lu Wang Huanwu Cheng Fuchi Wang Haifeng Zhang Aiming Wang 2010Journal of Materials Science & Technology2010,26,10:2
12Predicting lean blow-off of bluffbody stabilized flames based on Damkohler number显示文摘Lean Blow-Off(LBO) prediction is important to propulsion system design. In this paper,a hybrid method combining numerical simulation and Da(Damk?hler) model is proposed based on bluffbody stabilized flames. In the simulated reacting flow, Practical Reaction Zone(PRZ) is built based on OH radical concentration, and it is considered to be the critical zone that controls LBO.Da number is obtained based on the volume-averaged parameters of PRZ. The flow time scale(s_f)indicates the residence time of the fresh mixture flowing through the PRZ. It is obtained based on the characteristic length and volume-averaged axial velocity of the PRZ. The chemical time scale(s_c) indicates the shortest time needed to trigger the reaction of the mixture. It is obtained by commercial software CHEMKIN through monitoring the transient variation of the reactor temperature. The result shows that the average Da number under different LBO conditions is 1.135(the Da number under each LBO condition ranges from 0.673 to 1.351). This indicates that the flow time scale and chemical time scale are comparable. The combustion is in a critical state where LBO is easy to occur. With the increase of the fuel mass flow rate(the global fuel/air ratio increases from 0.004761 to 0.01095), s_f increases from 0.001268 s to 0.007249 s, and s_c decreases from 0.00124 s to0.00089 s. Accordingly, Da number increases from 1.023 to 8.145, which shows that the combustion becomes more stable. 14Application study of a correction method for a spacecraft thermal model with a Monte-Carlo hybrid algorithm显示文摘The correction of a thermal model for a thermally controlled satellite in ground test conditions is studied using a Monte Carlo hybrid algorithm.First,the global and local parameters are summarized according to sensitivity analyses on uncertain parameters,and then the model correction is treated as a parameter optimization problem to be solved with a hybrid algorithm.Finally,the correction of the thermal model is completed using a layered correction method.The sensitivity analysis showed that the effective emissivities across the multi-layer insulation (MLI) and the emissivities of the thermal control coating are global parameters,while the contact heat transfer coefficients are local parameters.After correction,the deviations between the calculated and test values were all within ± 3 ℃.The final results prove that the method in this study is superior to traditional methods and satisfies the requirements for thermal model correction.CHENG WenLong LIU Na LI Zhi ZHONG Qi WANG AiMing ZHANG ZhiMin HE ZongBo 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,13:2

16SUMOylation-modified Pelota-Hbs1 RNA surveillance complex restricts the infection of potyvirids in plants显示文摘RNA quality control nonsense-mediated decay is involved in viral restriction in both plants and animals.However,it is not known whether two other RNA quality control pathways,nonstop decay and no-go decay,are capable of restricting viruses in plants.Here,we show that the evolutionarily conserved Pelota–Hbs1 complex negatively regulates infection of plant viruses in the family Potyviridae(termed potyvirids),the largest group of plant RNA viruses that accounts for more than half of the viral crop damage worldwide.Pelota enables the recognition of the functional G1-2A6-7 motif in the P3 cistron,which is conserved in almost all potyvirids.This allows Pelota to target the virus and act as a viral restriction factor.Furthermore,Pelota interacts with the SUMO E2-conjugating enzyme SCE1 and is SUMOylated in planta.Blocking Pelota SUMOylation disrupts the ability to recruit Hbs1 and inhibits viral RNA degradation.These findings reveal the functional importance of Pelota SUMOylation during the infection of potyvirids in plants.Linhao Ge Buwei Cao Rui Qiao Hongguang Cui Shaofang Li Hongying Shan Pan Gong Mingzhen Zhang Hao Li Aiming Wang Xueping Zhou Fangfang Li 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,3:2
17Hydrogen-assisted scalable preparation of ultrathin Pt shells onto surfactant-free and uniform Pd nanoparticles for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction in practical fuel cells显示文摘Concentrating active Pt atoms in the outer layers of electrocatalysts is a very effective approach to greatly reduce the Pt loading without compromising the electrocatalytic performance and the total electrochemically active surface area(ECSA)for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)in hydrogen-based proton-exchange membrane fuel cells.Accordingly,a facile,low-cost,and hydrogen-assisted two-step method is developed in this work,to massively prepare carbon-supported uniform,small-sized,and surfactant-free Pd nanoparticles(NPs)with ultrathin~3-atomic-layer Pt shells(Pd@Pt_(3L) NPs/C).Comprehensive physicochemical characterizations,electrochemical analyses,fuel cell tests,and density functional theory calculations reveal that,benefiting from the ultrathin Pt-shell nanostructure as well as the resulting ligand and geometric effects,Pd@Pt_(3L) NPs/C exhibits not only significantly enhanced ECSA,electrocatalytic activity,and noble-metal(NM)utilization compared to commercial Pt/C,showing 81.24 m^(2)/gPt,0.710 mA/cm^(2),and 352/577 mA/mgNM/Pt in ECSA,area-,and NM-/Pt-mass-specific activity,respectively;but also a much better electrochemical stability during the 10,000-cycle accelerated degradation test.More importantly,the corresponding 25-cm^(2) H2-air/O_(2) fuel cell with the low cathodic Pt loading of~0.152 mgPt/cm^(2)geo achieves the high power density of 0.962/1.261 W/cm^(2)geo at the current density of only 1,600 mA/cm^(2)geo,which is much higher than that for the commercial Pt/C.This work not only develops a high-performance and practical Pt-based ORR electrocatalyst,but also provides a scalable preparation method for fabricating the ultrathin Pt-shell nanostructure,which can be further expanded to other metal shells for other energy-conversion applications.Liuxuan Luo Cehuang Fu Aiming Wu Zechao Zhuang Fengjuan Zhu Fangling Jiang Shuiyun Shen Xiyang Cai Qi Kang Zhifeng Zheng Chenyi Hu Jiewei Yin Guofeng Xia Junliang Zhang 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:2
18Risk factors associated with hemorrhagic cystitis after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation显示文摘Hemorrhagic cystitis(HC)is a common complication of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT).The incidence is about 7%to 68%,and some patients have to suffer a long period of frequent,urgent,and painful urination,which brings great pain.This study aimed to analyze risk factors of HC and its effect on patient survival.We collected the medical records of 859 patients who underwent HSCT at our hospital between August 2016 and August 2020.Patients with and without HC were matched using propensity score matching at a 1:1 ratio based on sex,age,and diagnosis,and logistic regression analyses were used to identify factors associated with HC.We used Kaplan–Meier curves to analyze the survival rates of patients in the HC and non-HC groups.We also analyzed the relationship between BK viral load and the occurrence of HC using receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)analysis.After propensity score matching,there were 131 patients each in the HC and non-HC groups.In the HC group,89 patients(67.9%)had mild HC(stage II°)and 43(32.1%)had severe HC(stage III–IV).The median interval between stem cell transplantation and HC development was 31(3–244)days.Univariate analysis indicated that donor age,hematopoietic stem cell source,HLA,acute graft-versus-host disease,busulfan,anti-thymocyte globulin(ATG),total body irradiation,cytomegalovirus(CMV)(urine),and BK polyomavirus(BKV)(urine)were significantly associated with HC.ATG,CMV(urine),and BKV(urine)were independent risk factors for HC based on the multivariate analysis.The Kaplan–Meier survival analysis showed no significant difference between the HC and non-HC groups(P=0.14).The 1-and 2-year survival rates in the HC group were 78.4%and 69.6%,respectively,and the corresponding rates in the non-HC group were 84.4%and 80.7%,respectively.ROC analysis indicated that a urine BKV load of 1×10^(7) copies/mL was able to stratify the risk of HC.In conclusion,when the BKV load is>1×10^(7),we needtobe aware of the potential for the development of HC.Biao Shen Yueshen Ma Haixiao Zhang Mingyang Wang Jia Liu Jiaxin Cao Wenwen Guo Dan Feng Donglin Yang Rongli Zhang Xin Chen Qiaoling Ma Weihua Zhai Sizhou Feng Mingzhe Han Aiming Pang Erlie Jiang 2022Blood Science2022,4,2:2
