| 1 | Comparison of the short-term and long-term outcomes of laparoscopic hysterectomies and of abdominal hysterectomies: a case study of 4,895 patients in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China显示文摘Background: To evaluate the short-term and long-term outcomes after laparoscopic hysterectomy(LH) compared with abdominal hysterectomy(AH) in case of benign gynecological disease. Methods: A multi-center cohort retrospective comparative study of population among 4,895 hysterectomies(3,539 LH vs.1,356 AH) between 2007 and 2013 was involved. Operative time(OT), estimated blood loss(EBL), intra-operative and post-operative complications, passing flatus; days with indwelling catheter, questionnaires covering pelvic floor functions and sexual functions were assessed.Results: The EBL(174.1±157.4 vs. 263.1±183.2 cc, LH and AH groups, respectively), passing flatus(38.7±14.1 vs. 48.1±13.2 hours), days with indwelling catheter(1.5±0.6 vs. 2.2±0.8 days), use of analgesics(6.5% vs. 73.1%), intra-operative complication rate(2.4% vs. 4.1%), post-operative complication rate(2.3% vs. 5.7%), post-operative constipation(12.1% vs. 24.6%), mild and serious stress urinary incontinence(SUI) post-operative(P<0.001; P=0.014), and proportion of Female Sexual Functioning Index(FSFI) total score <26.55 post-operative(P<0.001) of the LH group were significantly less than those of AH group. There wereno significant differences in OT(106.5±34.5 vs. 106.2±40.3 min) between the two groups.Conclusions: LH is a safe and efficient operation for improving patients' long-term quality of life(Qo L), and LH is a cost-effectiveness procedure for treating benign gynecological disease. | 2 | Effect of Soil C,N and P Stoichiometry on Soil Organic C Fractions After Afforestation显示文摘Afforestation is recognized as an important driving force for soil organic C(SOC) dynamics and soil element cycling.To evaluate the relationships between soil C:N:P stoichiometry and SOC fractions,soil C:N:P stoichiometry distributions at 0–200 cm soil depths were analyzed and the contents of SOC fractions were evaluated in 9 typical land-use systems on the Loess Plateau of China.The contents of light fraction organic C,particulate organic C(>53,53–2 000,and>2 000 μm),labile organic C,microbial biomass C,and dissolved organic C decreased with increasing soil depth and were higher in afforested soil than in slope cropland soil.Compared with the slope cropland,different vegetation types influenced soil C:N,C:P,and N:P ratios,especially when C:P and N:P ratios were significantly higher(P<0.05).Moreover,SOC fractions at the 0–10 and 10–40 cm depths were particularly affected by soil C:P ratio,whereas those at the 40–100 and 100–200 cm soil depths were significantly affected(P<0.05) by soil N:P ratio.These results indicate that changes in SOC fractions are largely driven by soil C:P and N:P ratios at different soil depths after afforestation. | ZHAO Fazhu ZHANG Lu SUN Jiao REN Chengjie HAN Xinhui YANG Gaihe PANG Guowei BAI Hongying WANG Jun | 2017 | Pedosphere2017,27,4: | 1 |
| 3 | A joint call for actions to advance taxonomy in China显示文摘Taxonomy plays an important role in understanding the origin, evolution, and ecological functionality of biodiversity. There are large number of unknown species yet to be described by taxonomists, which together with their ecosystem services cannot be effectively protected prior to description. Despite this, taxonomy has been increasingly underrated insufficient funds and permanent positions to retain young talents. Further, the impact factordriven evaluation systems in China exacerbate this downward trend, so alternative evaluation metrics are urgently necessary. When the current generation of outstanding taxonomists retires,there will be too few remaining taxonomists left to train the next generation. | 5 | Galvanic effects on cavitation damage for 1Cr13 stainless steel显示文摘Based on the electric-spark principle, a new kind of cavitation damage testing apparatus was designed, which could produce the bubble. Bubbles collapsed and acted on a small surface area of the alloy surface, so an intensive electrochemical inhomogenous state would be induced and lead to the existence of surface galvanic effect on the alloy. The galvanic effect of 1Crl3 SS during cavitation damage has been quantitatively investigated in NaCl solution. The results show that intensive galvanic effect of 1Crl 3 SS during cavitation damage appears the potential of the damaged area shifting negatively with the bubble collapse and simultaneously the galvanic current generates, The mass loss of alloy due to cavitation increases with the bubble quantity, and increases with the increasing of Cl^- content. And both the total mass loss and the mass loss due to galvanic corrosion increase linearly with the area ratio of cavitation damaged to undamaged area. Such surface galvanic effects speed up the dissolution rate of the alloy, which, in turn, accelerates the mechanical damage, and aggravates the mass loss of the alloy. | 7 | Rapid divergent coevolution of Sinopotamon freshwater crab genitalia facilitates a burst of species diversification显示文摘One of the most striking radiations in brachyuran evolution is the considerable morphological diversification of the external reproductive structures of primary freshwater crabs:the male first gonopod(G1)and the female vulva(FV).However,the lack of quantitative studies,especially the lack of data on female genitalia,has seriously limited our understanding of genital evolution in these lineages.Here we examined 69 species of the large Chinese potamid freshwater crab genus Sinopotamon Bott,1967(more than 80%of the described species).We used a landmark-based geometric morphometric approach to analyze variation in the shape of the G1 and FV,and to compare the relative degree of variability of the genitalia with non-reproductive structures(the third maxillipeds).We found rapid divergent evolution of the genitalia among species of Sinopotamon when compared to non-reproductive traits.In addition,the reconstruction of ancestral groundplans,together with plotting analyses,indicated that the FV show the most rapid divergence,and that changes in FV traits correlate with changes in G1 traits.Here we provide new evidence for coevolution between the male and female external genitalia of Sinopotamon that has likely contributed to rapid divergent evolution and an associated burst of speciation in this lineage. | Fengxin YAO Boyang SHI Xiaoqi WANG Da PAN Ming BAI Jie YAN Neil CUMBERLIDGE Hongying SUN | 2020 | Integrative Zoology2020,15,3: | 0 |
