| 1 | Predictive values of multidetector-row computed tomography combined with serum tumor biomarkers in preoperative lymph node metastasis of gastric cancer显示文摘Objective: Multidetector-row computed tomography(MDCT) and serum tumor biomarkers are commonly used to evaluate the preoperative lymph node metastasis and the clinical staging of gastric cancer(GC). This study intends to evaluate the clinical predictive value of MDCT and serum tumor biomarkers in lymph node metastasis of GC.Methods: The clinicopathologic data of 445 GC patients who underwent radical gastrectomy were retrospectively analyzed to evaluate the diagnostic value of MDCT and serum tumor biomarkers in lymph node metastatic staging of GC before surgery.Results: With the multinomial logistic regression analysis, the independent relative factors of lymph node metastasis of GC were identified as tumor size, depth of tumor invasion, vessel invasion, vascular embolus, and soft tissue invasion. The optimal critical value of the short diameter of lymph nodes detected by MDCT scanning for evaluation of preoperative lymph node metastasis was 6.0 mm, with 75.7% as predictive accuracy of lymph node metastasis compared to the postoperative pathological results of GC patients. In addition, the critical value of the short diameter of lymph nodes combined with serum tumor biomarkers [including carbohydrate antigen(CA)-724 and CA-199] could show an enhancement of predictive sensitivity of lymph node metastasis(up to 89.3%) before surgery.Conclusions: MDCT combined with serum tumor biomarkers should be adopted to improve preoperative sensitivity and accuracy of lymph node metastasis for GC patients. | Huihui Bai Jingyu Deng Nannan Zhang Huifang Liu Wenting He Jinyuan Liu Han Liang | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,3: | 11 |
| 2 | Safety of axitinib and sorafenib monotherapy for patients with renal cell carcinoma:a meta-analysis显示文摘We sought to investigate safety of axitinib or sorafenib in renal cell carcinoma(RCC) patients and compare toxicity of these two vascular endothelial growth factor receptor inhibitors. Databases of PubMed and Embase were searched.We included phase II and III prospective trials, as well as retrospective studies, in which patients diagnosed with RCC were treated with axitinib or sorafenib monotherapy at a starting dose of 5 mg and 400 mg twice daily, respectively.The overall incidence of high grade hypertension, fatigue, gastrointestinal toxicity and hand-foot syndrome, along with their 95% confidence intervals(CI), were calculated using fixed-or random-effects model according to heterogeneity test results. A total of 26 trials, including 4790 patients, were included in our meta-analysis. Among them, 6 arms were related to axitinib and 22 were associated with sorafenib. The incidences of hypertension(24.9%vs. 7.9%), fatigue(8.2% vs. 6.6%), and gastrointestinal toxicity(17.6% vs. 11.3%) were higher in patients receiving axitinib versus those receiving sorafenib, while the incidence of hand-foot syndrome was lower in patients receiving axitinib versus those receiving sorafenib(9.5% vs. 13.3%). In conclusion, axitinib showed noticeably higher risks of toxicity versus sorafenib. | 4 | Robust multiple description distributed video coding using optimized zero-padding显示文摘Distributed video coding (DVC) arouses high interests due to its property of low-complexity encoding. This paper proposes a robust multiple description DVC (MDDVC) under the constraint of low-complexity encoding. In MDDVC,zeros are padded to each frame and the resulting big-size video is divided into multiple descriptions. Then,each description is compressed by a hybrid DVC (HDVC) codec and trans-mitted over different channel. When one channel does not work,the lost HDVC description is estimated by the received from other channel,which guarantees the robustness of the system;MDDVC moves the complex motion estimation totally to the decoder so it features low-complexity encoding. In the pre-processing,an optimized zero-padding is also proposed to improve the performance. | 15 | Plasma treated carbon paper electrode greatly improves the performance of iron-hydrogen battery for low-cost energy storage显示文摘A novel iron-hydrogen battery system, whose Fe^(3+)/Fe^(2+)cathode circumvents slowly dynamic oxygen reduction reaction and anode is fed with clean and cordial hydrogen, is systematically investigated. The maximum discharge power density of the iron-hydrogen battery reaches to 96.0 m W/cm^(2) under the room temperature. The capacity reaches to 17.2 Ah/L and the coulombic and energy efficiency are achieved to99% and 86%, respectively, during the galvanostatic charge-discharge test. Moreover, stable cycling test is observed for more than 240 h and 100 cycles with the iron sulfate in the sulfuric acid solutions. It is found that air plasma treatment onto the cathode carbon paper can generate the oxygen-containing groups and increase the hydrophilic pores proportion to ca. 40%, enlarging nearly 6-fold effective diffusion coefficient and improving the mass transfer in the battery performance.
