2Prediction of Debris-flow Danger Area by Combining Hydrological and Inundation Simulation Methods显示文摘Debris flows have caused serious human casualties and economic losses in the regions strongly affected by the Ms8.0 Wenchuan earthquake of 2008. Debris flow mitigation and risk assessment is a key issue for reconstruction.The existing methods of inundation simulation are based on historical disasters and have no power of prediction.The rain-flood method can not yield detailed flow hydrograph and does not meet the need of inundation simulation. In this paper,the process of water flow was studied by using the Arc-SCS model combined with hydraulic method,and then the debris flow runoff process was calculated using the empirical formula combining the result from Arc-SCS.The peak discharge and runoff duration served as input of inundation simulation. Then,the dangerous area is predicted using kinematic wave method and Manning equation.Taking the debris flow in Huashiban gully in Beichuan County,Sichuan Province,China on 24 Sep.2008 as example,the peak discharge of water flow and debris flow were calculated as 35.52 m3·s-1 and 215.66 m3·s-,with error of 4.15%compared to the measured values.The simulated area of debris-flow deposition was 161,500 m2,vs.the measured area of 144,097 m2,in error of 81.75%.The simulated maximum depth was 12.3 m,consistent with the real maximum depth between 10 and 15 m according to the field survey.The minor error is mainly due to the flow impact on buildings and variations in cross-section configuration.The present methodology can be applied to predict debris flow magnitude and evaluate its risk in other watersheds inthe earthquake area.CUI Peng 2011Journal of Mountain Science2011,8,1:31
3Precise nanomedicine for intelligent therapy of cancer显示文摘Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. 4Status of glycosylated hemoglobin and prediction of glycemic control among patients with insulin-treated type 2 diabetes in North China:a multicenter observational study显示文摘Background:Blood glucose control is closely related to type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)prognosis.This multicenter study aimed to investigate blood glucose control among patients with insulin-treated T2DM in North China and explore the application value of combining an elastic network(EN)with a machine-learning algorithm to predict glycemic control.Methods:Basic information,biochemical indices,and diabetes-related data were collected via questionnaire from 2787 consecutive participants recruited from 27 centers in six cities between January 2016 and December 2017.An EN regression was used to address variable collinearity.Then,three common machine learning algorithms(random forest[RF],support vector machine[SVM],and back propagation artificial neural network[BP-ANN])were used to simulate and predict blood glucose status.Additionally,a stepwise logistic regression was performed to compare the machine learning models.Results:The well-controlled blood glucose rate was 45.82%in North China.The multivariable analysis found that hypertension history,atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease history,exercise,and total cholesterol were protective factors in glycosylated hemoglobin(HbAlc)control,while central adiposity,family history,T2DM duration,complications,insulin dose,blood pressure,and hypertension were risk factors for elevated HbAlc.Before the dimensional reduction in the EN,the areas under the curve of RF,SVM,and BP were 0.73,0.61,and 0.70,respectively,while these figures increased to 0.75,0.72,and 0.72,respectively,after dimensional reduction.Moreover,the EN and machine learning models had higher sensitivity and accuracy than the logistic regression models(the sensitivity and accuracy of logistic were 0.52 and 0.56;RF:0.79,0.70;SVM:0.84,0.73;BP-ANN:0.78,0.73,respectively).Conclusions:More than half of T2DM patients in North China had poor glycemic control and were at a higher risk of developing diabetic complications.The EN and machine learning algorithms are alternative choices,in addition to the traditional logistic model,for building predictive models of blood glucose control in patients with T2DM.Jiao Wang Meng-Yang Wang Hui Wang Hong-Wei Liu Rui Lu Tong-Qing Duan Chang-Ping Li Zhuang Cui Yuan-Yuan Liu Yuan-Jun Lyu Jun Ma 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,1:19
5Effect of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae supplementation on serum antioxidant capacity, mucosal sIgA secretions and gut microbial populations in weaned piglets显示文摘This study was conducted to determine the effect of different forms of yeasts Saccharomyces cerevisiae supplementation on serum antioxidant capacity, mucosal secretory immunoglobulin A(s Ig A) secretions and gut microbial populations in weaned piglets. A total of 96 piglets weaned at 14 d of age were randomly allotted to 4 dietary treatments:(1) basal diet without yeast(Control);(2) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g kg–1 live yeast(LY);(3) basal diet supplemented with 2.66 g kg–1 heat-killed whole yeast(HKY); and(4) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g kg–1 superfine yeast powders(SFY). Each treatment had 4 replicates(pens), with 6 piglets per replicate. The experiment lasted for 3 wk. At d 7 and 21 of the experiment, the samples of serum, mucosa and mesenteric lymph node(MLN) from jejunum, and digesta from the ileum and cecum were collected for determinations. Compared with the Control, dietary SFY supplementation increased serum superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity and lysozyme levels at d 7, and jejunum mucosal s Ig A secretions at d 21 of the experiment(P<0.05). Dietary LY supplementation increased serum SOD activity and jejunum mucosal s Ig A secretions, but decreased serum malondialdehyde(MDA) concentration at d 7 and 21(P<0.05). Piglets fed diets supplemented with LY and SFY had lower p H values and decreased numbers of Escherichia coli in the ileum and cecum contents at d 21 compared with the Control(P<0.05). Moreover, the ratio of Lactobacilli to E. coli in the ileum and cecum contents was increased by dietary LY and SFY supplementations(P<0.05). 7Effects of different forms of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae on growth performance,intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets显示文摘The present study was conducted to determine effects of different forms of yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae,strain Y200007) on the growth performance,intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets.A total of 96 piglets(14-d old,initial average body weight of 4.5 kg) were assigned to 4 dietary treatments:(1) basal diet without yeast(Control);(2) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg live yeast(LY);(3) basal diet supplemented with 2.66 g/kg heat-killed whole yeast(HKY);and(4) basal diet supplemented with 3.00 g/kg superfine yeast powders(SFY).Diets and water were provided ad libitum to the piglets during 3-week experiment.Growth performance of piglets was measured weekly.Samples of blood and small intestine were collected at days 7 and 21 of experiment.Dietary supplementation with LY and SFY improved G:F of piglets at days 1-21 of the experiment(P<0.05) compared to Control group.Serum concentrations of growth hormone(GH),triiodothyronine(T_3),tetraiodothyronine(T_4),and insulin growth factor 1(IGF-1) in piglets at day 21 of the experiment were higher when fed diets supplemented with LY and SFY than those in Control group(P < 0.05).Compared to Control group,contents of serum urea nitrogen of piglets were reduced by the 3 yeast-supplemented diets(P< 0.05).Diets supplemented with LY increased villus height and villus-to-crypt ratio in duodenum and jejunum of piglets(P < 0.05) compared to other two groups at day 7 of the experiment.Feeding diets supplemented with LY and SFY increased(P< 0.05) serum concentrations of IgA,IL-2,and IL-6 levels in piglets compared to Control.The CD4^+/CD8^+ ratio and proliferation of T-lymphocytes in piglets fed diets supplemented with LY were increased compared to that of Control group at day 7 of the experiment(P < 0.05).In conclusion,dietary supplementation with both LY and SFY enhanced feed conversion,small intestinal development,and systemic immunity in early-weaned piglets,with better improvement in feed conversion by dietary supplementation with LY,while dietary supplementation with SFY was more effective in increasing systemic immune functions in early-weaned piglets.Zongyong Jiang Shaoyong Wei Zhilin Wang Cui Zhu Shenglan Hu Chuntian Zheng Zhuang Chen Youjun Hu Li Wang Xianyong Ma Xuefen Yang 2016Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1:13
8Characteristics of Earthquake-Triggered Landslides and Post-Earthquake Debris Flows in Beichuan County显示文摘Field investigations and aerial photography after the earthquake of May 12,2008 show a large number of geo-hazards in the zone of extreme earthquake effects.In particular,landslides and debris flows,the geo-hazards that most threaten post-disaster reconstruction,are widely distributed.We describe the characteristics of these geo-hazards in Beichuan County using high-resolution remote sensing of landslide distribution,and the relationships between the area and volume of landslides and the peak-discharges of debris flows both pre-and post-earthquake.The results show:1) The concentration(defined as the number of landslide sources per unit area:Lc) of earthquaketriggered landslides is inversely correlated with distance from the earthquake(DF) fault.The relationship is described by the following equation:Lc = 3.2264exp(-0.0831DF)(R2 = 0.9246);2) 87 % of the earthquake-triggered landslides were less than 15×104 m2 in area,and these accounted only for 50% of the total area;84% of the landslide volumes were less than 60×104 m3,and these accounted only for 50% of the total volume.The probability densities of the area and volume distributions are correlated:landslide abundance increases with landslide area and volume up to maximum values of 5 × 104 m2 and 30 × 104 m3,respectively,and then decreases exponentially.3) The area(AL) and volume(VL) of earthquake-triggered landslides are correlated as described with the following equation:VL=6.5138AL1.0227(R2 = 0.9131);4) Characteristics of the debris flows changed after the earthquake because of the large amount of landslide material deposited in the gullies.Consequently,debris flow peak-discharge increased following the earthquake as described with the following equation:Vpost = 0.8421Vpre1.0972(R2 = 0.9821)(Vpre is the peak discharge of pre-earthquake flows and the Vpost is the peak discharge of post-earthquake flows).We obtained the distribution of the landslides based on the above analyses,as well as the magnitude of both the landslides and the post-earthquake debris flows.The results can be useful for guiding post-disaster reconstruction and recovery efforts,and for the future mitigation of these geo-hazards.However,the equations presented are not recommended for use in site-specific designs.Rather,we recommend their use for mapping regional seismic landslide hazards or for the preliminary,rapid screening of sites.ZHUANG Jianqi CUI Peng HU Kaiheng CHEN Xiaoqing GE Yonggang 2010Journal of Mountain Science2010,7,3:11

12First line nucleos(t)ide analog monotherapy is more cost-effective than combination strategies in hepatitis B e antigen-positive chronic hepatitis B patients in China显示文摘Background:Nucleos(t)ide analog(NA)in combination with peginterferon(PegIFN)therapy in patients with hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)-positive chronic hepatitis B(CHB)shows better effectiveness than NA monotherapy in hepatitis B surface antigen loss,termed'functional cure,'based on previous published studies.However,it is not known which strategy is more cost-effective on functional cure.The aim of this study was to analyze the cost-effectiveness of first-line monotherapies and combination strategies in HBeAg-positive CHB patients in China from a social perspective.Methods:A Markov model was developed with functional cure and other five states including CHB,compensated cirrhosis,decompensated cirrhosis,hepatocellular carcinoma,and death to assess the cost-effectiveness of seven representative treatment strategies.Entecavir(ETV)monotherapy and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)monotherapy served as comparators,respectively.Results:In the two base-case analysis,compared with ETV,ETV generated the highest costs with$44,210 and the highest quality-adjusted life-years(QALYs)with 16.78 years.Compared with TDF,treating CHB patients with ETV and NA-PegIFN strategies increased costs by$7639 and$6129,respectively,gaining incremental QALYs by 2.20 years and 1.66 years,respectively.The incremental cost-effectiveness ratios were$3472/QALY and$3692/QALY,respectively,which were less than one-time gross domestic product per capita.One-way sensitivity analysis and probabilistic sensitivity analyses showed the robustness of the results.Conclusion:Among seven treatment strategies,first-line NA monotherapy may be more cost-effective than combination strategies in HBeAg-positive CHB patients in China.Xue-Ru Yin Zhi-Hong Liu Jing Liu Yuan-Yuan Liu Li Xie Li-Bo Tao Ji-Dong Jia Fu-Qiang Cui Gui-Hua Zhuang Jin-Lin Hou 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,19:9

14Dietary arginine supplementation in multiparous sows during lactation improves the weight gain of suckling piglets显示文摘This study investigated the effects of dietary arginine(Arg)supplementation,just during lactation,on sow and litter performance,plasma concentrations of metabolites and hormones,and milk yield and composition in multiparous sows.Thirty-one sows were randomly assigned to 3 dietary treatments supplemented with 0.0(control,n=10),0.5%(n=10),or1.0%(n=11)L-Arg-HCl,respectively.Experimental diets were provided to the sows from d 3 to 21 of lactation.Plasma and milk samples were collected at d 14 and 21 of lactation.The average daily gain(ADG)of piglets from sows fed diets supplemented with 0.5 or 1.0%L-Arg-HCl at d 3 to 14 of lactation,were higher than that of controls(P<0.05).Maternal supplementation with 1.0%L-Arg-HCl also increased ADG of piglets between d 3 and 21 of lactation than that of the controls(P<0.05).There was no significant effect of supplementation on average daily feed intake(ADFI),body weight loss,and backfat thickness loss of lactating sows.Supplementation with 0.5 or 1.0%L-Arg-HCl had a trend towards increasing milk yields and milk fat contents(0.05ZHU Cui GUO Chang-yi GAO Kai-guo WANG Li CHEN Zhuang MA Xian-yong JIANG Zong-yong 2017Journal of Integrative Agriculture2017,16,3:8
15An active damping vibration control system for wind tunnel models显示文摘In wind tunnels, long cantilever sting support systems with low structural damping encounter flow separation and turbulence during wind tunnel tests, which results in destructive low-frequency and big-amplitude resonance, leading to data quality degradation and test envelope limitation. To ensure planed test envelope and obtain high-quality data, an active damping vibration control system independent of balance signal based on stackable piezoelectric actuators and velocity feedback using accelerometer, is proposed to improve the support stability and wind tunnel testing safety in transonic wind tunnel. Meanwhile, a design of powerful sting-root embedded active damping device is given and an active vibration control method is presented based on the mechanism analysis of aircraft model vibration. Furthermore, a self-adaptive fuzzy Proportion Differentiation(PD) control model is proposed to realize control parameters adjustment automatically for various testing conditions. Besides, verification tests are performed in laboratory and a continuous transonic wind tunnel. 17Dehydration of glucose into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural in SO_3H-functionalized ionic liquids显示文摘The continuous dehydration of D-glucose into 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF) was carried out under mild conditions,using SO3H-functionalized acidic ionic liquids as catalysts and H2O-4-methyl-2-pentanone(MIBK) biphasic system as solvent.High glucose conversion of 97.4% with HMF yield of 75.1%was obtained at 120 8C for 360 min,also,small amounts of levulinic acid(LA) and formic acid were generated.Generally,the dosage of catalyst and the initial content of glucose influenced the reaction significantly; the HMF selectivity decreased with the excessive elevation of temperature and prolonging of time; and water content in the system had a negative effect on the reaction.The ionic liquid catalyst could be recycled and exhibited constant activity for five successful runs.This paper provided a new strategy for HMF production from glucose.Fu-Rong Tao Chen Zhuang Yue-Zhi Cui Jing Xu 2014Chinese Chemical Letters2014,25,5:7

19Low-complexity method for DOA estimation based on ESPRIT显示文摘A low-complexity method for direction of arrival(DOA) estimation based on estimation signal parameters via rotational invariance technique(ESPRIT) is proposed.Instead of using the cross-correlation vectors in multistage Wiener filter(MSWF),the orthogonal residual vectors obtained in conjugate gradient(CG) method span the signal subspace used by ESPRIT.The computational complexity of the proposed method is significantly reduced,since the signal subspace estimation mainly needs two matrixvector complex multiplications at the iteration of data level.Furthermore,the prior training data are not needed in the proposed method.To overcome performance degradation at low signal to noise ratio(SNR),the expanded signal subspace spanned by more basis vectors is used and simultaneously renders ESPRIT yield redundant DOAs,which can be excluded by performing ESPRIT once more using the unexpanded signal subspace.Compared with the traditional ESPRIT methods by MSWF and eigenvalue decomposition(EVD),numerical results demonstrate the satisfactory performance of the proposed method.Xuebin Zhuang Xiaowei Cui Mingquan Lu Zhenming Feng 2010Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,5:6
20Suppressive effect of pectic polysaccharides extracted from Rauwolfia verticillata(Lour.) Baill.var.hainanensis Tsiang on inflammation by regulation of NF-κB pathway and interleukin-17 in mice with dextran sulphatesodium-induced ulcerative colitis显示文摘Objective:To investigate the effects of pectic polysaccharides extracted from Rauwolfia verticillata(Lour.) Baill.var.hainanensis Tsiang on an experimental murine colitis model.Methods:Experimental colitis was induced by dextran sulfate sodium(DSS),and mice were divided into 4 groups:control.DSS alone.DSS plus SASP,DSS plus pectic polysaccharides.The disease activity index(DAI) and histological score were observed.The tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and interleukin(IL)-17 levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.I κ B and NF-κB p65 expression were assessed by western blot analysis.Myeloperoxidase(MPO) activity was determined by using MPO assay kit.Re.sults:Administration of pectic polysaccharides significantly reduced the severity of DSS-induced colitis as assessed by DAT and histological score,and resulted in down regulation of MPO activity and NF-κB p65 expression and subsequent degradation of IκB protein,strikingly reduced the production of TNF-α and IL-17.Conclusions:Pectic polysaccharides extracted from Rauvolfia verticillata(Lour.)Baill.var.hainanensis Tsiang exerts beneficial effects in experimental colitis and may therefore provide a useful therapeutic approach for the treatment of UC.Xin-Pu Miao Xiao-Ning Sun Lu-Jia Cui Qin-Fang Cao Gui-Feng Zhuang Tao-Zhi Deng Dong-Yan Zhang 2015Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2015,8,2:5
