| 1 | Identification of stably expressed QTL for resistance to black shank disease in tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.) line Beinhart 1000-1显示文摘Cigar line Beinhart 1000-1 has effective durable resistance to black shank(BS) and is considered one of the most resistant sources in tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.). To investigate the inheritance and identification of stable quantitative trait loci(QTL) for BS response, F2,BC1 F2 individuals and BC1 F2:3 lines were produced from a cross between Beinhart 1000-1 and Xiaohuangjin 1025. Two major quantitative trait loci(M-QTL) named qBS7 and qBS17 were repeatedly detected under different conditions. QTL qBS7 was mapped to the region between PT30174 and PT60621 and explained 17.40%–25.60% of the phenotypic variance under different conditions. The other QTL qBS17 in interval PT61564–PT61538 of linkage group 17 was detected in a BC1 F2 population in the field and in BC1 F2:3 in both the field and at the seedling stage, explaining 6.90% to 11.60% of the phenotypic variance. | 5 | Rho-Associated Kinase Inhibitors Promote Microglial Uptake Via the ERK Signaling Pathway显示文摘Microglia are immunocompetent cells in the central nervous system that take up tissue debris and pathogens.Rho-associated kinase(ROCK) has been identified as an important regulator of uptake, proliferation, secretion, and differentiation in a number of cell types. Although ROCK plays critical roles in the microglial secretion of inflammatory factors,migration, and morphology, its effects on microglial uptake activity have not been well characterized. In the present study,we found that treatment of BV2 microglia and primary microglia with the ROCK inhibitors Y27632 and fasudil increased uptake activity and was associated with morphological changes. | 6 | Screwdriver-like Pd-Ag heterostructures formed via selective deposition of Ag on Pd nanowires as efficient photocatalysts for solvent-free aerobic oxidation of toluene显示文摘Heterostructured bimetal nanocrystals with a component having localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)property are promising photocatalysts for a series of reactions.In this work,kinetic products of Pd-Ag with a screwdriver-like heterostructure have been successfully fabricated via the selective epitaxial growth of Ag on Pd nanowires(NWs).It was confirmed that the deposition rate(Vdeposition)of Ag is much more sensitive to the temperature,compared to the surface diffusion rate(Vdiffusion)which can be effectively reduced by the binding of poly(vinylpyrrolidone)(PVP)molecules.Then the magnitude of Vdeposition/Vdiffusion has been well tailored for the formation of a kinetic growth environment.The interactions between the components of the as-prepared Pd-Ag heterostructures resulted in intensified LSPR effects.As a result,they gained better photocatalytic performance toward solvent free aerobic oxidation of toluene than Pd NWs,Ag NWs and the mixture of them.Additionally,the Pd-Ag heterostructured nanocrystals exhibited excellent catalytic stability for recycling.This work not only presents an idea for realizing kinetic growth but also supports that LSPR effect is a good tool for improving the photocatalytic activity. | Caihong He Lingli Yu Na Lu Wenjing Wang Wei Chen Shaojie Lu Yun Yang Dekun Ma Shaoming Huang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,3: | 2 |

| 10 | Engineering the viscoelasticity of gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA)hydrogels via small“dynamic bridges”to regulate BMSC behaviors for osteochondral regeneration显示文摘The dynamic extracellular matrix(ECM)constantly affects the behaviors of cells.To mimic the dynamics of ECM with controllable stiffness and energy dissipation,this study proposes a strategy in which a small molecule,3,4-dihydroxybenzaldehyde(DB),was used as fast'dynamic bridges'to construct viscoelastic gelatin methacryloyl(GelMA)-based hydrogels.The storage modulus and loss modulus of hydrogels were independently adjusted by the covalent crosslinking density and by the number of dynamic bonds.The hydrogels exhibited self-healing property,injectability,excellent adhesion and mechanical properties.Moreover,the in vitro results revealed that the viscous dissipation of hydrogels favored the spreading,proliferation,osteogenesis and chondrogenesis of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs),but suppressed their adipogenesis.RNA-sequencing and immunofluorescence suggested that the viscous dissipation of hydrogels activated Yes-associated protein(YAP)by stabilizing integrinβ1,and further promoted nuclear translocation of smad2/3 andβ-catenin to enhance chondrogenesis and osteogenesis.As a result,the viscoelastic GelMA hydrogels with highest loss modulus showed best effect in cartilage and subchondral bone repair.Taken together,findings from this study reveal an effective strategy to fabricate viscoelastic hydrogels for modulating the interactions between cells and dynamic ECM to promote tissue regeneration. | Changjiang Liu Qifan Yu Zhangqin Yuan Qianping Guo Xiting Liao Feng Han Tao Feng Guoping Liu Runze Zhao Zhuang Zhu Haijiao Mao Caihong Zhu Bin Li | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,7: | 1 |
| 11 | Co-administration of platelet-rich plasma and small intestinal submucosa is more beneficial than their individual use in promoting acute skin wound healing显示文摘Background:Acute skin wounds may compromise the skin barrier,posing a risk of infection.Small intestinal submucosa(SIS)is widely used to treat acute and chronic wounds.However,the efficacy of SIS to accelerate wound healing still needs to be improved to meet clinical demands.To tackle this problem,platelet-rich plasma(PRP)is used due to its potency to promote proliferation,migration and adhesion of target cells.In this study,we applied PRP and SIS to skin wounds to explore their effects on wound healing by evaluating re-epithelialization,collagen production,angiogenesis and the inflammatory response.Methods:A1×1-cm full-thickness skin defectwas established in mice.Sixty mice were divided into four treatment groups:PRP+SIS,PRP,SIS and control.On days 3,5,7,10 and 14 post-surgery,tissue specimens were harvested.Haematoxylin and eosin,Masson’s trichrome,immunohistochemical and immunofluorescence double staining were used to visualize epidermal thickness,collagen and vascular regeneration and inflammation.Results:Wound contraction in the PRP and PRP+SIS groups was significantly greater,compared with the other groups,on days 3 and 5 post-surgery.A histological analysis showed higher collagen expression in the PRP and PRP+SIS groups on day 7,whichwas associated with a thicker epidermal layer on day 14.In addition,immunohistochemical staining showed that CD31-positive blood vessels and vascular endothelial growth factor expression in the PRP+SIS and PRP groups were significantly higher,compared with the control group.Furthermore,immunofluorescence double staining showed that the number of M1 and M2 macrophages in the PRP+SIS and PRP groups was higher,compared with the control and SIS groups alone,on day 3.However,on day 7,the number of M1 macrophages dramatically decreased in the PRP+SIS and PRP groups.The ratio of M2 to M1 macrophages in the PRP+SIS and PRP groups was 3.97 and 2.93 times that of the control group and 4.56 and 3.37 times that of the SIS group,respectively.Conclusion:Co-administration of SIS and PRP has a better effect on promoting angiogenesis,reepithelialization and collagen regeneration in managing acute wound healing than either agent alone. | Xiaoxuan Lei Liuhanghang Cheng Yu Yang Mengru Pang Yunqing Dong Xuanru Zhu Caihong Chen Zexin Yao Gang Wu Biao Cheng Tymour Forouzanfar | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 1 |

| 19 | Oxygen-evolving photosynthetic cyanobacteria for 2D bismuthene radiosensitizer-enhanced cancer radiotherapy显示文摘The local hypoxic tumor environment substantially hampers the therapeutic efficiency of radiotherapy, which typically requires the large X-ray doses for tumor treatment but induces the serious side effects. Herein, a bio-mimetic radiosensitized platform based on a natural in-situ oxygen-evolving photosynthetic cyanobacteria combined with two-dimensional (2D) bismuthene with high atomic-number (Z) components, is designed and engineered to effectively modulate the radiotherapy-resistant hypoxic tumor environment and achieve sufficient radiation energy deposition into tumor. Upon the exogenous sequential irradiation of 660 nm laser and X-ray beam, continuous photosynthetic oxygen evolution by the cyanobacteria and considerable generation of reactive oxygen species by the 2D bismuthene radiosensitizer substantially augmented the therapeutic efficacy of radiotherapy and suppressed the in vivo tumor growth, as demonstrated on both LLC-lung tumor xenograft-bearing C57/B6 mice model and 4T1-breast tumor xenograft-bearing Balb/c mice model, further demon-strating the photosynthetic hypoxia-alleviation capability and radiosensitization performance of the engineered biomimetic radiosensitized platform.
