| 1 | Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. | 5 | Lamivudine in prevention and treatment of recurrent HBV after liver transplantation显示文摘BACKGROUND:Chronic hepatitis B virus infection is one of the major causes of liver cirrhosis worldwide, especially in Asia. Liver transplantation for the end-stage liver disease with hepatitis B virus (HBV) is commonly complicated by the recurrence of HBV. The present study was designed to evaluate lamivudine in the prevention and treatment of re- current HBV after liver transplantation. METHODS: Seventeen patients with HBV-related liver dis- ease in a total of 41 patients have received liver transplanta- tion at our hospital since 2001. All the patients were HBV positive before transplantation, 5 of them had acute liver failure. Artificial liver was used in 4 patients with acute liver failure. All of the patients received lamivudine at a dose of 100 mg/d after liver transplantation. Lamivudine and HBIg therapy were given to 3 patients. RESULTS: Liver transplantation was successfully performed in all 17 patients. Three patients died of complications 3-6 months after the transplantation. One patient withdraw from lamivudine therapy and died of liver failure at 14 months after the transplantation. Thirteen patients were followed up from 6 to 18 months. Two viremic patients had HBV recurrence shortly after the transplantation. Two viremic patients who had received HBIg and lamivudine af- ter the transplantation had no evidence of HBV recurrence. CONCLUSIONS: Lamivudine therapy is effective in pre- venting HBV recurrence after liver transplantation. | 8 | Boosting the photodynamic therapy efficiency with a mitochondria-targeted nanophotosensitizer显示文摘Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an attractive clinical technique for cancer treatment. However, the poor solubility and weak cellular internalization of the molecule-photosensitizers, as well as the exceedingly short lifetime and limited diffusion distance of the generated reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cytoplasm directly restricted the therapeutic efficiency of conventional PDT. In this study, we proposed a facile strategy for improving PDT of cancer based on a mitochondria-targeted nanophotosensitizer. The molecule-photosensitizer chlorin e6 was covalently attached on the internal and external surfaces of the mesoporous silica nanoparticles. Then, the triphenylphosphonium was anchored on the nanoparticles for selectively targeting mitochondria. When irradiated with laser, the nanophotosensitizer can generate a large amount of ROS in mitochondria, thus causing the mitochondrial dysfunction and irreversible cell apoptosis. | 9 | Downregulation of microRNA-382 is associated with poor outcome of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To study the potential prognostic role of microRNA-382(miR-382) in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC).METHODS: Forty six patients were divided into 2groups according to postoperative survival time:the poor outcome group(28 patients), who showed early metastasis but no recurrence, and died within 1year after surgery, 12 patients of the group received postoperative chemotherapy treatment that was given after early metastasis happening; the good outcome group(18 patients), who had no clinical metastasis and recurrence, and survived 5 years or more after surgery, all patients did not receive any postoperative treatment. Total RNA was extracted from the patients' formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded esophageal cancer tissues. miR-382 level was evaluated using highthroughput real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction analysis. The correlation between miR-382 level and clinicopathologic features was analyzed through COX regression model, and Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to analyze the relationship betweenmiR-382 level and patient survival time.RESULTS: miR-382 was differentially expressed in the two groups. Overall the average miR-382 level in the ESCC patients with good outcome was 9.8 ± 3.8,while miR-382 level in the ESCC patients with poor outcome was 3.0 ± 0.8. | 11 | Cycle number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy might influence survival of patients with T1-4N2-3M0 nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Objective: Stage N2-3 nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) shows a high risk of distant metastasis, which will finally cause death. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy(NACT) of various cycles before radical radiotherapy on distant metastasis and survival of patients with stage N2-3 diseases.Methods: In this study, a total of 1,164 consecutive patients with non-metastatic N2-3 NPC were recruited and prospectively observed. Then 231 patients who received NACT of 4 cycles(NACT=4 group) were matched 1:2:1 to 462 patients treated with NACT of 2 cycles(NACT=2 group) and 231 patients treated without NACT(NACT=0 group), according to age, histological subtype, N stage and NACT regimen. Five candidate variables(sex, T stage, concurrent chemotherapy, intensity-modulated radiation therapy and cycle number of NACT) were analyzed for their association with patients' survival.Results: After matching, the overall survival(OS), disease-free survival(DFS), local-recurrence-free survival(RFS) and distant-metastasis-free survival(MFS) of the NACT=4 group(89.2%, 81.0%, 83.3% and 84.8%,respectively) were better than those of the NACT=2 group(83.3%, 72.5%, 81.2% and 77.9%, respectively) and the NACT=0 group(74.0%, 63.2%, 74.0% and 68.8%, respectively). | 13 | Effects of Microbial Inoculums on Soil Enzyme Activity and Microbial Diversity in a Reclaimed Mining Area显示文摘Through a pot experiment,effects of various microbial inoculums on soil microbial diversity and enzyme activity in a typical reclaimed mining area in Shanxi Province were discussed based on quantitative analysis of PLFA,soil urease,phosphatase and sucrase activity. The results showed that the application of microbial inoculums increased microorganism quantity in rhizosphere of rape by 2. 3%-66. 4%,and quantities of bacteria,gram-positive bacteria,gram-negative bacteria,fungi and actinomycetes in the treatments with microbial inoculums were significantly higher than the contrast( P <0. 05),while there was no obvious change in protist quantity. In comparison with the contrast,the application of various microbial inoculums also improved soil urease,sucrase and phosphatase activity by 4. 2%-61. 4%,18. 0%-32. 5% and 64. 2%-199. 0% respectively.
