| 1 | Decrement of Sugar Consumption in Rice Young Panicle Under High Temperature Aggravates Spikelet Number Reduction显示文摘Two rice genotypes Huanghuazhan(HHZ, heat-resistant) and IR36(heat-susceptible) were subjected to high-temperature(HT, 40℃) and normal-temperature(NT, 32℃) treatments at the spikelet differentiation stage. HT treatment inhibited spikelet differentiation, aggravated spikelet degeneration, reduced spikelet size, and disordered carbohydrate allocation. Meanwhile, HT treatment increased nonstructural carbohydrate content in leaves, but decreased that in stems and young panicles, and the same tendencies of sucrose and starch contents were observed in leaves and stem. However, HT treatment significantly increased the sucrose content and sharply decreased the glucose and fructose contents in young panicles. Lower activity levels of soluble acid invertase(EC3.2.1.26) and sucrose synthase(EC2.4.1.13) were observed under HT treatment. Moreover, HT treatment reduced the activities of key enzymes associated with glycolysis and the tricarboxylic acid cycle, which indicated sucrose consumption was inhibited in young panicles under HT treatment. Exogenous glucose and fructose applied under HT treatment increased the spikelet number more than exogenous sucrose. In conclusion, the results demonstrated that the reduction of spikelet number under high temperature was more affected by the decrease in sugar consumption than the blocking of sucrose transport. | 5 | Coordinated regulation of BACH1 and mitochondrial metabolism through tumor-targeted self-assembled nanoparticles for effective triple negative breast cancer combination therapy显示文摘The poor prognosis of triple negative breast cancer(TNBC)results from a lack of approved targeted therapies coupled with aggressive proliferation and metastasis,which is associated with high recurrence and short overall survival.Here we developed a strategy by employing tumor-targeted selfassembled nanoparticles to coordinately regulate BACH1(BTB domain and CNC homology 1)and mitochondrial metabolism.The BACH1 inhibitor hemin and mitochondria function inhibitor berberine derivative(BD)were used to prepare nanoparticles(BH NPs)followed by the modification of chondroitin sulfate(CS)on the surface of BH NPs to achieve tumor targeting(CS/BH NPs).CS/BH NPs were found to be able to inhibit tumor migration and invasion by significantly decreasing the amounts of tumor cell metabolites,glycolysis and metastasis-associated proteins,which were related to the inhibition of BACH1 function.Meanwhile,decreased mitochondrial membrane potential,activated caspase 3/9 and increased ROS production demonstrated coordinated regulation of BACH1 and mitochondrial metabolism.In a xenograft mice model of breast cancer,CS/BH NPs significantly inhibited tumor growth and metastasis due to the synergetic effect of hemin and BD without showing obvious toxicities for major organs.In sum,the results of efficacy and safety experiments suggest potential clinical significance of the prepared self-assembled CS/BH nanoparticles for the treatment of TNBC. | Xuan Yang Yalong Wang Junke Zhao Hehui Rong Yujun Chen Mengting Xiong Xiaoxing Ye Shihui Yu Haiyan Hu | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,10: | 1 |

| 9 | Hematopoietic stem cell metabolism and stemness显示文摘Hematopoietic stem cells(HSCs)are considered to originate from the aorta-gonad-mesonephros,migrate into fetal liver for a rapid expansion,and eventually reside into a unique hypoxic bone marrow niche,where they maintain their homeostasis throughout their life span.HSCs have been widely used for the treatment of many begin or malignant hematopoietic disorders.However,the unavailability of sufficient amount of HSCs still impedes their applications in the clinic.It is urgent to understand how HSC stemness or cell fates are determined at different developmental stages.Although many intrinsic and extrinsic factors(niche components)have been identified in the regulation of HSC origination,expansion,migration,and localization,the underlying mechanisms remain largely unknown.In this article,we summarize current views on the metabolic profiles of HSCs and related regulatory networks,which shows that intrinsic metabolic regulation may be critical for the cell fate determinations of HSCs:HSCs utilize glycolysis as their major energy sources;mitochondrial respiration is also required for the homeostasis of HSCs;amino acids,lipids,or other nutrient metabolisms also have unique roles in sustaining HSC activities.Mechanistically,many important regulatory pathways,such as MEIS1/HIF1A,MYC,PPM1K/CDC20,and ROS signals,are identified to fine-tune the nutrient metabolisms and cell fate commitments in HSCs.Nevertheless,more effort is required for the optimization or establishment of sensitive and specific metabolic techniques/systems for the metabolism studies in HSCs with limited cell numbers and exploring the metabolic profiles and fundamental regulatory mechanisms of different types of nutrients at each developmental stage of HSCs. | Dan Huang Chiqi Chen Li Xie Zhuo Yu Junke Zheng | 2019 | Blood Science2019,1,1: | 0 |
| 10 | Interannual evolution of the chemical composition,sources and processes of PM_(2.5)in Chengdu,China:Insights from observations in four winters显示文摘The air quality in China has improved significantly in the last decade and,correspondingly,the characteristics of PM_(2.5)have also changed.We studied the interannual variation of PM_(2.5)in Chengdu,one of the most heavily polluted megacities in southwest China,during the most polluted season(winter).Our results show that the mass concentrations of PM_(2.5)decreased significantly year-by-year,from 195.8±91.0μg/m~3in winter 2016 to 96.1±39.3μg/m^(3)in winter 2020.The mass concentrations of organic matter(OM),SO_()4^(2-),NH_(4)^(+)and NO_(3)^(-)decreased by 49.6%,57.1%,49.7% and 28.7%,respectively.The differential reduction in the concentrations of chemical components increased the contributions from secondary organic carbon and NO_(3)^(-)and there was a larger contribution from mobile sources.The contribution of OM and NO_(3)^(-)not only increased with increasing levels of pollution,but also increased year-by-year at the same level of pollution.Four sources of PM_(2.5)were identified:combustion sources,vehicular emissions,dust and secondary aerosols.Secondary aerosols made the highest contribution and increased year-by-year,from 40.6%in winter 2016 to 46.3% in winter 2020.By contrast,the contribution from combustion sources decreased from 14.4% to 8.7%.Our results show the effectiveness of earlier pollution reduction policies and emphasizes that priority should be given to key pollutants(e.g.,OM and NO_(3)^(-))and sources(secondary aerosols and vehicular emissions)in future policies for the reduction of pollution in Chengdu during the winter months. | Junke Zhang Jiaqi Li Yunfei Su Chunying Chen Luyao Chen Xiaojuan Huang Fangzheng Wang Yawen Huang Gehui Wang | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,4: | 0 |

In this paper, aerodynamic optimization design of an ADHF high-lift system is conducted considering the mechanism performance. Shape and settings of both takeoff and landing configurations are optimized and analyzed, with considering the kinematic constraints of ADHF mechanism, and the desired optimization results were obtained after optimization. Sensitivity analysis proves the robustness of the optimal design. | 15 | Characterization of Fe-containing particles in Chengdu,southwest China,using single-particle aerosol mass spectrometry显示文摘Single-particle aerosol mass spectrometry was used to study the characteristics of Fecontaining particles during winter in Chengdu,southwest China.The mass concentrations of PM_(2.5)and PM_(10)during the study period were 64±38 and 89±49μg/m~3,respectively,and NO_(2)and particulate matter were high compared with most other regions of China.The Fecontaining particles were divided into seven categories with different mass spectra,sources and aging characteristics.The highest contribution was from Fe mixed with carbonaceous components(Fe-C,23.1%)particles.Fe was more mixed with sulfate than nitrate and therefore the contribution of Fe mixed with sulfate(Fe-S,20.7%)particles was higher than that of Fe mixed with nitrate(Fe-N,12.5%)particles.The contributions from Fe-containing particles related to primary combustion were high in the small particle size range,whereas aged Fecontaining particles and dust-related particles were mostly found in the coarse particle size range.The air masses mainly originated from the west and east of Chengdu,and the corresponding PM_(2.5)concentrations were 79±36 and 55±36μg/m~3,respectively.The west and east air masses showed stronger contributions of Fe-containing particles related to biomass burning(Fe-B)and fossil fuel combustion(Fe-C and Fe-S)particles,respectively.The southwest area contributed the most Fe-containing particles.Future assessments of the effects of Fe-containing particles during heavy pollution period should pay more attention to Fe-C and Fe-S particles.Emission-reduction of Fe-containing particles should consider both local emissions and short-distance transmission from the surrounding areas. | Renjiang He Junke Zhang Luyao Chen Wei Zhang Yingwei Xi | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |
| 16 | Real-time,single-particle chemical composition,volatility and mixing state measurements of urban aerosol particles in southwest China显示文摘To investigate the volatility of atmospheric particulates and the evolution of other particulate properties(chemical composition,particle size distribution and mixing state)with temperature,a thermodenuder coupled with a single particle aerosol mass spectrometer was used to conduct continuous observations of atmospheric fine particles in Chengdu,southwest China.Because of their complex sources and secondary reaction processes,the average mass spectra of single particles contained a variety of chemical components(including organic,inorganic and metal species).When the temperature rose from room temperature to280℃,the relative areas of volatile and semi-volatile components decreased,while the relative areas of less or non-volatile components increased.Most(>80%)nitrate and sulfate existed in the form of NH_(4)NO_(3)and(NH_(4))_(2)SO_(4),and their volatilization temperatures were50–100℃and 150–280℃,respectively.The contribution of biomass burning(BB)and vehicle emission(VE)particles increased significantly at 280℃,which emphasized the important role of regional biomass burning and local motor vehicle emissions to the core of particles.With the increase in temperature,the particle size of the particles coated with volatile or semi-volatile components was reduced,and their mixing with secondary inorganic components was significantly weakened.The formation of K-nitrate(KNO_(3))and K-sulfate(KSO_(4))particles was dominated by liquid-phase processes and photochemical reactions,respectively.Reducing KNO_(3)and BB particles is the key to improving visibility.These new results are helpful towards better understanding the initial sources,pollution formation mechanisms and climatic effects of fine particulate matter in this megacity in southwest China. | Luyao Chen Junke Zhang Jiaqi Li Xiaojuan Huang Yuzheng Xiang Jing Chen Tingru Pan Wei Zhang | 2024 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2024,,2: | 0 |

Differential markers between P. ternate and T. flagelliforme as well as cultivated and wild P. ternate were screened and identified by principal component analysis(PCA) and orthogonal partial least square-discriminate analysis(OPLS-DA). [Results]12 components of P. ternate(cultivated and wild variety) and T.flagelliforme and three components of cultivated and wild P. ternate were screened and identified by OPLS-DA. N-Acetyl-6-hydroxy-L-tryptophan and N-Phenylacetylglutamic were not detected in P. ternate,and these two components can be used as potential markers of P. ternate and T. flagelliforme.
