1Bio-inspired Superhydrophobic Coating with Low Hydrate Adhesion for Hydrate Mitigation显示文摘In this paper,we fabricate a biomimetic superhydrophobic coating on an X90 pipeline steel substrate by electrodeposition of copper,hydrothermal treatment to form a copper oxide layer,and subsequent surface modification with Stearic Acid(SA).The coating exhibits static contact angles of water of 160°±-3.1°in the air and 170.7°±2.5°in cyclopentane,indicating the strongly water-repelling nature of the coating.The morphologies of the cyclopentane hydrate formed on steel substrates with and without the superhydrophobic coating are investigated.The results show that the hydrate particle on the coating exhibits spherical morphology and herein the interfacial contact area and adhesion force to the solid surface can be essentially reduced.The adhesion force reduction may be resulted by the decrease in the contact area between the hydrate and the solid surface.Sanbao Dong Mingzhong Li Chenwei Liu Jie Zhang Gang Chen 2020Journal of Bionic Engineering2020,17,5:2

5Preparation and Characterization of Nanocrystalline Cellulose/Poly(lactic acid) Composite Membranes显示文摘Nanocrystalline cellulose(NCC)/poly(lactic acid)(PLLA) composite membranes were prepared by the solution casting method.Physical and chemical modifications were performed to improve the compatibility of NCC and PLLA.The results indicated that the NCC dispersibility of the composite membranes with chemical modification were superior to that of the composite membranes with physical modification.Moreover,the chemical modification NCC not only had a large effect on the nucleation and growth of the crystals,but also affected the crystal forms of PLLA.This was because chemical reactions took place between the silicone of silane coupling agent(KH-570) and the hydroxyl groups of NCC during blending.The chemical modification NCC could be dispersed stably in the PLLA matrix,and it played the role of a nucleating agent.MeiChun Ding ChenWei Li FuShan Chen 2017Paper And Biomaterials2017,2,3:1

8Characteristics of Liver Functions in Patients With COVID-19 and Construction of a Prognostic Evaluation Decision Model Based on Liver Functions显示文摘A number of studies have suggested that coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)can cause liver damage.However,clinical features and outcome of COVID-19 in patients with liver injury remain to be further investigated.In this study,the clinical data of 265 COVID-19 patients admitted to seven tertiary hospitals were collected.Based on a threshold for transaminase or total bilirubin levels at two times the normal upper limit,patients were divided into mild or moderate/severe liver injury groups.Among the 265 patients,183 patients showed liver injury within 48 hours of admission.Aspartate aminotransferase levels were predominantly elevated in the liver injury group,but albumin levels were reduced.Moreover,fibrinogen and D-dimer were significantly increased.Furthermore,68%of the patients with moderate/severe liver injury had one or more underlying diseases.Almost half of these patients developed acute respiratory distress syndrome(44%)and secondary infections(46%).These patients showed increased interleukin-6 and interleukin-10 levels and a decrease in PaO2 and the oxygenation index.In addition,levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,and albumin were correlated with the oxygenation index,D-dimer and lymphocyte counts.Furthermore,a novel prognostic assessment model based on liver function was established,which accuracy reached 88%and was able to accurately assess the prognosis of COVID-19 patients.Tongtong Pan Dazhi Chen Chenwei Pan Yi Kang Junping Liu Feifei Su Liang Hong Huili Li Hui Zhao Zhuo Lin Xiaodong Wang Hongwei Lin Qianjing Du Chao Cai Yongping Chen 2020Infectious Microbes & Diseases2020,2,4:1
9Reducing the carbon emissions from Qianxi tomato fruits preservation by cold atmospheric plasma显示文摘China has pledged to reach its dual-carbon goals(i.e.,carbon peak and carbon neutrality)at the end of 2060.To reduce carbon emission in food preservation industry,the preservation effects of cold atmospheric plasma intermittent treatment(1 min/6 h each day,PL4)combined with 15℃ and 4℃ only on Qianxi tomato fruits during 7 d storage were investigated.Results indicated that the firmness,L*,sensory taste,glutathione(GSH)content,mineral(Fe,P,K)content,polyphenol oxidase activity of PL4 tomatoes were significantly increased than that in Control during earlier period storage,with worse weight loss,titratable acid,a*,b*,lycopene content,·OH radical scavenging capacity and same moisture content,total soluble solids,polysaccharide content,total phenolics content,total flavonoid content,ascorbic acid content,1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging capacity,pectin methylesterase activity.Moreover,the power and R134a consumption of PL4 were highly decreased by around 56.4 kW·h and 0.3 g respectively during whole storage as compared to Control,and reduced more than 99.8%carbon emission based on equipment using stage.All in all,this study illustrated that PL4 treatment can be applied as an ecofriendly,low carbon and sustainable preservation strategy for short-term storage of fruits under 4℃ or higher temperature.Tao Jin Yan Chen Chenwei Dai Jimin Deng Qinghua Xu Zhengwei Wu 2023International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2023,16,5:0
10Hail impact responses and residual tensile properties of CFRP T-joints显示文摘Hail impact is a major challenge encountered by aircraft in flight,and thus is a key concern in the design of damage-tolerant composite T-joints in aviation.The study uses the Z-pinning technique(the pre-hole insertion technology)in combination with fillets of two radiuses to manufacture four types of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers(CFRP)T-joints.The T-joints are then subjected to hail impact tests at two energy levels,as well as post-impact quasi-static tensile tests.The results show that increasing the size of the deltoid and Z-pin-induced reinforcement has a limited influence on the responses of the T-joints to hail impact,but a significant influence on their residual tensile strength after impact.These influences are not only dependent on the structural characteristics of the T-joints,but are also closely related to the degree of discrete damage within the T-joints caused by hail impact.Acoustic Emission(AE)technology is used to monitor the quantitative evolution of damage to the T-joints in a timely manner during the loading process,and helps characterize the characteristics of evolution of various types of damage over different periods.The research here can help design lightweight and damage-tolerant T-joints.Jianwu ZHOU Zhibin ZHAO Yaoyao SHI Xu WANG Xiaopeng CHEN Chenwei SHAN 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,7:0
11Visualizing the role of applied voltage in non-metal electrocatalysts显示文摘Understanding how applied voltage drives the electrocatalytic reaction at the nanoscale is a fundamental scientific problem,particularly in non-metallic electrocatalysts,due to their low intrinsic carrier concentration.Herein,using monolayer molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))as a model system of non-metallic catalyst,the potential drops across the basal plane of MoS_(2)(△V_(sem))and the electric double layer(△V_(edl))are decoupled quantitatively as a function of applied voltage through in-situ surface potential microscopy.We visualize the evolution of the band structure under liquid conditions and clarify the process of EF keeping moving deep into Ec,revealing the formation process of the electrolyte gating effect.Additionally,electron transfer(ET)imaging reveals that the basal plane exhibits high ET activity,consistent with the results of surface potential measurements.The potential-dependent behavior of kf and ns in the ET reaction are further decoupled based on the measurements of△V_(sem)and△V_(edl).Comparing the ET and hydrogen evolution reaction imaging results suggests that the low electrocatalytic activity of the basal plane is mainly due to the absence of active sites,rather than its electron transfer ability.This study fills an experimental gap in exploring driving forces for electrocatalysis at the nanoscale and addresses the long-standing issue of the inability to decouple charge transfer from catalytic processes.Ziyuan Wang Jun Chen Chenwei Ni Wei Nie Dongfeng Li Na Ta Deyun Zhang Yimeng Sun Fusai Sun Qian Li Yuran Li Ruotian Chen Tiankai Bu Fengtao Fan Can Li 2023National Science Review2023,10,9:0

13Influences of the tank liquid lateral sloshing and mass time-varying on high clearance self-propelled sprayer ride comfort显示文摘To explore the influence of the lateral sloshing and the time-varying mass of the liquid in the tank on the ride comfort of the high-clearance sprayer,a spring-mass-damping equivalent mechanics that can describe the lateral sloshing of the liquid under different filling ratios was constructed based on the equivalent criterion.The Fluent was used to simulate the moment acting on the wall of the tank by the lateral sloshing of the liquid,and then the parameters of the equivalent mechanical model are obtained by fitting and solving.Comparative analysis of Fluent simulation and bench test on lateral sloshing of tank liquid under different filling ratios.The results show that the lateral sloshing trend of the tank liquid level obtained from the Fluent simulation and the bench test was consistent,which proved the accuracy of the Fluent fluid simulation process and the correctness of the required equivalent mechanical model parameters.Incorporating a liquid sloshing equivalent model,a four-degree-of-freedom vertical dynamic model of the sprayer half-car was established.Subsequently,the performance of the sprayer was systematically analyzed and compared under the excitation of a bump road and a random E-level road.This investigation took into account varying liquid filling ratios of 10%,50%,and 90%.The focus lay on evaluating the vertical acceleration of the sprayer body,dynamic deflection of the suspension,and dynamic load on the tires in response to these road conditions.This analysis is conducted independently of the liquid sloshing factor.The results show that the lateral sloshing of the liquid medicine significantly reduces the ride smoothness of the machine,and makes the vibration response of the machine produce a certain hysteresis effect.With the reduction of the quality of the liquid medicine in the spray tank,the vibration amplitude of the sprayer body gradually decreases,the hysteresis effect is also gradually weakened.The results presented in this study offer a theoretical foundation for the analysis of ride comfort and the optimization of chassis structure in high-clearance sprayers.Liquan Lu Junchang Zhang Cui Cui Jun Chen Yu Chen Hongling Jing Shuo Zhang Sugirbay Adilet Chenwei Hu Jiayu Cao 2024International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2024,17,1:0
14An Objective Approach to Generating Multi-Physics Ensemble Precipitation Forecasts Based on the WRF Model显示文摘Selecting proper parameterization scheme combinations for a particular application is of great interest to the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model users.This study aims to develop an objective method for identifying a set of scheme combinations to form a multi-physics ensemble suitable for short-range precipitation forecasting in the Greater Beijing area.The ensemble is created by using statistical techniques and some heuristics.An initial sample of 90 scheme combinations was first generated by using Latin hypercube sampling(LHS).Then,after several rounds of screening,a final ensemble of 40 combinations were chosen.The ensemble forecasts generated for both the training and verification cases using these combinations were evaluated based on several verification metrics,including threat score(TS),Brier score(BS),relative operating characteristics(ROC),and ranked probability score(RPS).The results show that TS of the final ensemble improved by 9%-33%over that of the initial ensemble.The reliability was improved for rain≤10 mm day^-1,but decreased slightly for rain>10 mm day^-1 due to insufficient samples.The resolution remained about the same.The final ensemble forecasts were better than that generated from randomly sampled scheme combinations.These results suggest that the proposed approach is an effective way to select a multi-physics ensemble for generating accurate and reliable forecasts.Chenwei SHEN Qingyun DUAN Wei GONG Yanjun GAN Zhenhua DI Chen WANG Shiguang MIAO 2020Journal of Meteorological Research2020,34,3:0
15Reactive ball-milling synthesis of Co-Fe bimetallic catalyst for efficient hydrogenation of carbon dioxide to value-added hydrocarbons显示文摘Catalytic hydrogenation of CO_(2) using renewable hydrogen not only reduces greenhouse gas emissions,but also provides industrial chemicals.Herein,a Co-Fe bimetallic catalyst was developed by a facile reactive ball-milling method for highly active and selective hydrogenation of CO_(2) to value-added hydrocarbons.When reacted at 320℃,1.0 MPa and 9600 mL h^(-1) g_(cat)^(-1),the selectivity to light olefin(C_(2)^(=)-C_(4)^(=)) and C_(5)+ species achieves 57.3% and 22.3%,respectively,at a CO_(2) co nversion of 31.4%,which is superior to previous Fe-based catalysts.The CO_(2) activation can be promoted by the CoFe phase formed by reactive ball milling of the Fe-Co_(3)O_(4) mixture,and the in-situ Co_(2)C and Fe_(5)C_(2) formed during hydrogenation are beneficial for the C-C coupling reaction.The initial C-C coupling is related to the combination of CO species with the surface carbon of Fe/Co carbides,and the sustained C-C coupling is maintained by self-recovery of defective carbides.This new strategy contributes to the development of efficient catalysts for the hydrogenation of CO_(2) to value-added hydrocarbons.Haipeng Chen Chenwei Wang Mengyang Zheng Chenlei Liu Wenqiang Li Qingfeng Yang Shixue Zhou Xun Feng 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,9:0
16From imitation to innovation--The optimal level of IPP in the process of building an innovation-oriented China显示文摘An Intellectual Property Protection(IPP)system is one of the key element in a system of national innovation.Currently,the core conflict for China’s IPP is its ability to protect intellectual property.Based on its position as a developing country,this paper theoretically and empirically analyzes the role that IPP plays in the process of building an innovative-oriented nation.First,we construct a duopoly model to show that,according to the strength of the innovation capability,the process of building an innovation-oriented nation can be divided into three stages:the initial stage,the transitional stage,and the advanced stage.In the initial stage,having relative weak innovative capability in overall economy,a nation blindly exerting IPP may lead the economy into a vicious cycle of“innovation traps”.Corresponding to different stages,the value of optimal protection of intellectual property is various.Second,using provincial panel data from 1995 to 2008 in China,this paper empirically analyzes the optimal level of IPP.The result shows that the creative capability of China currently is more sensitive to imitation than to independent innovation,which means that China may be just in the transition stage of building an innovative-oriented nation.At last,a preliminary discussion is made to explore modes of regulating IPP in the process of building an innovative-oriented China.Chen Fengxian Wang Chenwei 2016China Finance and Economic Review2016,5,2:0
17Tailoring morphology symmetry of bismuth vanadate photocatalysts for efficient charge separation显示文摘Although spatial charge separation between different facets of semiconductor crystals has been recognized as a general strategy in photocatalysis, the vital role of crystal morphology symmetry in charge separation properties still remains elusive. Herein,taking monoclinic bismuth vanadate(BiVO_(4)) as a platform, we found distinct charge separation difference via rationally tailoring the morphology symmetry from octahedral to truncated octahedral crystals. For octahedral BiVO_(4), photogenerated electrons and holes can be separated between edges and quasi-equivalent facets. However, as for truncated octahedral crystals,photogenerated electrons tend to transfer to {010} facets while photogenerated holes prefer to accumulate on {120} facets, thus realizing the spatial separation of photogenerated charge between different facets. Morphology tailoring of BiVO_(4) crystals leads to a significantly improved photogenerated charge separation efficiency and photocatalytic water oxidation activity. The built-in electric field for driving the separation of photogenerated electrons and holes is considered to be modulated by tuning the morphology symmetry of BiVO_(4) crystals. 19Development and characterization of mycelium bio-composites by utilization of different agricultural residual byproducts显示文摘Mycelium bio-composites was developed by incubating Pleurotus ostreatus fungi on different sub-strates from agricultural residual byproducts,including rice straw,bagasse,coir-pith,sawdust,and corn straw.The scanning electron microscope(SEM)results showed that the hypha of com-posite derived from bagasse was the densest,and the diameter of hypha was the biggest(0.77μm),which was presumably due to the existence of cellulose in bagasse in the form of dextran and xylan.The maximum and minimum compression strength for sawdust substrate and corn straw substrate were 456.70 and 270.31 kPa,respectively.The flexural strength for bagasse sub-strate and rice straw substrate were 0.54 and 0.16 MPa,respectively.The two composites derived from rice straw and bagasse exhibited higher hydrophobic properties than others.In comparison,mycelium bio-composite derived from bagasse showed the best comprehensive properties.Except for a little worse anti-creep ability and waterproof performance,other properties of mycelium bio-composites could be comparable to commercially expanded polystyrene(EPS)packaging mate-rial.Derived from this study,mycelium material provided a good way to use agricultural residual byproducts and could be a good alternative to non-biodegradable materials for packaging appli-cations.Liucheng Peng Jing Yi Xinyu Yang Jing Xie Chenwei Chen 2023Journal of Bioresources and Bioproducts2023,8,1:0
20Tip-induced directional charge separation on one-dimensional BiVO4 nanocones for asymmetric light absorption显示文摘One dimensional(1D)semiconductor is a class of extensively attractive materials for many emerging solar energy conversion technologies.However,it is still of shortage to assess the impact of 1D structural symmetry on spatial charge separation and understand its underlying mechanism.Here we take controllably-synthesized 1D BiVO_(4)nanocones and nanorods as prototypes to study the influence of 1D symmetry on charge separation.It is found that the asymmetric BiVO_(4)nanocones enable more effective charge separation compared with the symmetric nanorods.The unexpected spatial charge separation on the nanocones is mainly ascribed to uneven light absorption induced diffusion-controllable charge separation due to symmetry breaking of 1D nanostructure,as evidenced by spatial and temporal resolved spectroscopy.Moreover,the promotion effect of charge separation on the nanocones was quantitatively evaluated to be over 20 times higher than that in BiVO_(4)nanorods.This work gives the first demonstration of the influence of 1D structural symmetry on the charge separation behavior,providing new insights to design and fabricate semiconductor materials for efficient solar energy conversion.Nengcong Yang Ruotian Chen Chenwei Ni Dongfeng Li Qi Sun Lifang Liu Yu Qi Shengye Jin Xiuli Wang Fengtao Fan Can Li Fuxiang Zhang 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,9:0
